Where To Eat & Drink In Lake City

"You’ll find a bunch of permanently-parked taco trucks all over Seattle, but few are quite as good at Loxicha, a cash-only Oaxacan taqueria. Unlike other trucks where you’re forced to eat an oversized burrito in your car or on the curb, there’s a ton of seating at Loxicha, via some picnic tables and a built-in deck attached to the truck. When choosing a protein, stick with the al pastor, marinated pollo, or the super tender carnitas that only gets better with a squirt of fresh lime." - aimee rizzo, carlo mantuano

Google
Some of the best tacos in Seattle! I ordered a carnitas taco plate and my husband got a chicken Oaxaca burrito, the food was SO good! The carnitas were flavorful and not dry without being overly watery. The rice & beans were also excellent. My husband was very impressed with his burrito. He got the large size and it was enough for two meals. We’re happy to return to try more of the menu. One thing to be aware of - they are cash only.

Google
This food truck serves good food! The carnitas plate is my favorite. The big torta is really good too- and it’s huge! Definitely enough for two people. They only take cash, but it’s worth it to stop and grab some! The service is amazing!

Lauren Santi

Google
Really nice people, but they raised their prices and this burrito was $14 for mostly rice, and the tacos were dry with only one lime wedge 🥺 not a flavorful or economic Mexican cuisine experience

Dustin Nguyen

Google
Guy was super nice and dang those were great tacos. they were filled with good quality meat with good flavor. I'll definitely be back. thank you!

Caroline Shen

Google
CASH ONLY!! so I stopped by the other day to try the tacos. The owner suggested pork and beef tacos ($4 each) so I ordered one of each. Simple but flavorful. I personally prefer the pork taco better as the beef was a bit dry. The portion is pretty decent, and their spicy hot sauce is really really spicy. Will keep coming back to support the local small business.

Google
OMG what an amazing Oaxacan food truck. Stopped by for the first time after my friends recommendation and ordered their Wet Torta (vegetarian & chicken), al pastor & chicken enchiladas rojas. The food itself is so tasty and flavorfully sauced up. I enjoyed the veggie torta more than the chicken torta which was still very good. The al pastor was mind blowingly amazing. I could keep on snacking on these. The enchiladas were delicious too. We asked for their spicy sauces and they were really spicy. Portions were good. This place is CASH only so please note that. We placed the order via phone prior to getting there and food was ready in 15 mins. The food itself is delicious and flavorful and I can see myself craving this authentic oaxacan food more often.

Google
5/28/23: The mole enchiladas are premade with chicken so you can't get them with Oaxacan cheese instead. Also too pricy at $18 for a food cart. I didn't find the mole sauce that good either, lacking in spice and no sweetness at all. I wouldn't return.

Anna Baatz

Google
The sweetest staff and the best burritos and chorizo. That wet burrito was obscenely large and saucy and we wouldn't have it any other way. The fish taco plate also really hit the spot :) absolutely a favorite spot, and their Tortas are super good too!

Yelp
The best place for unassuming delicious mexican food. We always get their al pastor and wet torta. These guys are cash only. Service is fast. They have a few seats to eat right outside their food truck but we usually have stuff to go. Overall love this place, been coming here for 3yrs and will continue to do so. Cheers!

Yelp
So I kept on passing this place never knowing what they served. I was craving vegan tacos and trusty Yelp led me to this gem! Whoa! I have had many, many vegan tacos, I make hella good vegan birria tacos! Lol The tacos were refreshing, the food is onolicious and the spicy sauce is very flavorful! Sweet! got a new spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent street tacos at a really good price! We are repeat customers. Note it's cash only.

Adam A.

Yelp
I've always been skeptical about food trucks, but this one is definitely worth it Food is always good, reasonably priced, and workers are always super friendly. Cash only, which is totally fine with me.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
They do not accept credit cards which means they are handling filthy cash all day long.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Super nice people and really delicious food! We will be coming back again. I ordered the taco plate sooooo yummy
google avatar

Paul R.

Yelp
Crazy good Food!!! Plain earthy whole ingredients, spices/herbs, and authentic recipes. Service is polite, clean food truck, and made fresh after order. Carnitas burrito true homemade taste, reminds me of so-cal. This will be a weekly habit
google avatar

Raymond M.

Yelp
Small taco truck with very limited seating. $4 each for their "big" tacos. Carne asada was dry. Al pastor lacked in flavor. Carnitas are the best, flavorful and fatty!

Ivy A.

Yelp
The meat was really gross. I ordered a burrito with carne asada, it was un-edible. I had to throw it away
google avatar

Danna R.

Yelp
Straightforward, no frills, yummy Mexican! Food truck is located along 15th in North Seattle, and there are park benches you can sit in to eat. One order taker with a warm smile, and just good food. Cash only, please. Generous servings! See you again soon!

Austin J.

Yelp
Honestly good looks good but there like the only food truck in Seattle that only accepts cash
google avatar

Yelp
I'm so glad my mom decided to go a lonchera style place for lunch instead of a walk in-sit down restaurant. She stated these have more "sabor". We were visiting in Seattle for the day and stumbled upon Loxicha and were not disappointed one bit. We ordered the asada quesadillas and mulitas plate. Price was reasonable as it came with a beverage. Service was friendly and speedy. My mom complimented the Mexican rice (we are strong critics when it comes to the rice) and as well as the salsas. I will for sure return when I'm the city.
google avatar

Mackenzie C.

Yelp
Best fish tacos I have had in a while! We went on a Saturday night and ordered there, and food was ready in about 10 minutes for three of us. Everything tasted really good and fresh. Beans and rice were good. Good prices too - $13 for fish tacos with beans and rice! Note that they are cash only and there are no ATMs in their parking lot.
google avatar

Yelp
this place never ceases to amaze me. the food is consistently delicious, the people who work there are kind and will give you lots of their AMAZING green salsas if you ask :) it's a place that only takes cash, and i will always keep some on me just in case, just for this place. and despite the cold weather outside right now, i will stand in front of this food truck for however long i need to order. there's some outdoor seating to take advantage of in spring/summer which is lovely! i always get the carnitas taco plate or the carnitas plate, depending on how lazy i'm being when it comes to assembling tacos. even the burnt parts of the carnitas (which only happened ONCE of all the times i've been here) were tasty. if i could eat at one place for the rest of my life, it would be here.
google avatar

Yelp
I was excited to try this place out yesterday for the first time because I saw good reviews, but I waited over 10 min and was ignored . No one came to take my order. She was busy on her phone or what but I finally decided to walk away instead of trying to get the staff attention and I took my money someplace else where they have better customer service. I do not recommend this business for being ignored. They have horrible customer service.

Yelp
Street tacos are the way to go. Best deal is 6 tacos for $7.99 and comes with a free drink but horchata is extra. The al pastor comes with pineapple and juicy and fatty pork in a corn tortilla. You gotta have it with the red sauce for the kick. The green salsa isn't spicy at all. Pork carnitas was so moist and slow cooked. So good! Got some water which is standard. They do have one dish that is only available on the weekend...dish number 19. Will have to be back!

Mihak H.

Yelp
I dream about this taco truck frequently and have yet to find anything local that even comes close to this caliber. I used to live right down the street from here and would order from here at least 2x a week. Sadly, we now live in a suburb north of here and it's not as easy to come here. I almost always order the same thing - the chicken taco plate. The chicken is so well seasoned and the hot sauces are so garlicky and flavorful. The plates come with rice and beans and oh my goodness, that rice is something else. I don't know what they flavor it with but I've never had rice that good. Even my picky child loves the food here. Secretly rooting they open up another truck in Lynnwood :=).

Cody M.

Yelp
Menu 10/2/22 Menu 10/2/22 Food was great, we had the fish tacos, veggie burrito, and veggie torta. I did fail to see in other pictures that this is a cash only business! So I had to go to QFC to get cash back for my food order. Also, you are not supposed to park in the spots that say MKG on them, just a heads up. Other than that, I love supporting a fellow small business!

Yelp
I've been perpetually homesick for some LA/SD tacos since I've come to Seattle. This place is actually better than a lot of taco trucks I've been to in LA. I got the 4 street tacos for $6. This is a great deal on par with a lot of great taco Tuesdays I've been to. I got the asada, chorizo, pastor, chicken, and carnitas. All delicious. I was surprised at how flavorful the chicken is. One thing though, I did like the street tacos better than their regular tacos. It didn't have enough meat for the size of the tortilla. Still delicious, but I think ill stick to the street tacos. Their side of rice is also delicious and flavorful. I will report back when I try the burrito and the tlayuda. Apparently that ones only available on Saturdays. Both the red and green salsas are delicious. (The red's got a kick though, so be careful if you're sensitive to spicy).
google avatar

Anna-Beth M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this food truck and send people here all the time. Everything I've tried has been delicious but my go to every time is the Carnitas bowl. They cram so much into that little to go container it's usually enough for two meals. The rice has this wonderful unctuous soft cooked bits of onion that are just perfect. All my coworkers get very excited if I say I'm gonna make a run to the Taco Truck and put in their orders. Make sure you bring cash because there's no credit cards here.
google avatar

Gristle V.

Yelp
The marinated chicken is delicious! I had it in the street tacos. The Al Pastor also is tasty. Their rice is good, the refried beans (done with black beans) SUPER good. I usually pass on the beans but after tasting these I wanted more. I had a side of guacamole and it ALSO was fresh and perfect.
google avatar

Tam T.

Yelp
WOW! I've had a lot of tacos and have been incredibly disappointed by many Northwest tacos. Coming from LA I thought that I just lost the magic of tacos, but the tacos at Loxicha are just as good! 1. The pastor was my favorite. They slice very small pieces of pineapple into the taco in the taco and it goes great with the taco! 2. The asada and chorizo tacos were also excellent! 3. Beware of the red salsa! It is HOT! I love spicy food but I underestimated that red salsa. It left me panting and made me think that I was on Hot Ones with Sean Evans.
google avatar

Doug M.

Yelp
This humble Mexican food truck is easy to miss, but has some of the best Mexican food anywhere in the North Seattle area. The food is amazing without being too greasy, and the hot salsa really is hot. Highly recommend the Al Pastor and Chicken Mole among other dishes. Note: they only take cash. The people who work here are also super friendly and if you want to support local businesses, this is a great place to start.
google avatar

Krishna V.

Yelp
Good, solid latin food. We've eaten the tlayudas, multiple tacos plates, and the quesadillas. All the meats were well seasoned, good quantity and delicious. I love their red and green salsas; the red has a nice kick. A veggie burrito had more filler then I would've like but the vegetarians in the family had no complaints. Great service also!! Don't park in the martial arts parking lot, as they keep saying to us or they may lose their space lease.
google avatar

Nina H.

Yelp
So glad that I stopped by this taco truck in my neighborhood because the food is delicious! It's a little hidden and you may even miss it because it's not super well lit, but it's on 15th near 115th. Cash only so be prepared! The food items are pretty cheap and the portions are generous. I tried the fish and asada tacos and they were super tasty. The fish was fried just right and there was a lot of fish! The asada was nice and tender and the burrito with asada was flavorful and filling also. I will be back to try the carne asada plate and maybe some fried grasshoppers too!
google avatar

Ayse S.

Yelp
So incredibly oily and the meats didn't seem fresh, it seemed like they were reheated in oil. The rice was also extremely oily. Would not come here again for the tacos.
google avatar

Christie M.

Yelp
My partner and I were initially SOO glad to have found this place. Best tacos we'd found in the city. Then one night, my partner bit into a NAIL in his burrito. A rusty old looking nail the length of my thumb. I was furious. How does a NAIL get into a burrito. We immediately took the food items back and the person at the counter offered $40 in cash as a refund, then asked to see the nail because this had happened one time before. He noted they suspected it came with the tortillas. Unbelievable. One time was enough for us to never visit this place again; why they continue ordering these tortillas I'll never understand. But if it's happened twice now, be on the lookout for a nail in your own food.

Yelp
Can I give this place 10 stars? This is my favorite place to eat. This taco truck has the best vegetarian tacos I think on planet Earth. Every time I eat them I am amazed and I eat here multiple times a week. We are vegan and the veg tacos are massive-- rice & refried beans, cucumber pico de gallo, cabbage, and fresh avocado. Plus the hottest, most delicious red hot sauce I've had in my life. We save that stuff and put it in other dishes when we cook. It's only $2.00 per taco which is a great value for how huge and incredibly good these tacos seriously are. This place is worth every penny! Highly recommend. You will never have to look further for the perfect veggie tacos-- these are it! Also, their rice and beans are some of the tastiest I've ever had. Order a side, for sure! They are worth trying. Plus, service is always friendly!
google avatar

D. M.

Yelp
Would normally give 5 stars because the food is spectacular BUT the service is inconsistent and the wait time is always long. However, easy way around that is call ahead (like 25 minutes) and double check your order before you walk off. If something is off or missing, go right back to the pickup window on the side. Normally, I'd say to hell with all that but trust me when I say the food is SO WORTH IT. The quality is amazing and the flavors are perfection! Best most consistent dish- street tacos! The Chicken and carne are my faves and I get a plate of 6 of each ($11 a plate). Ask for extra limes and make sure they give you your free drink!! Their chicken and carne are juicy and perfectly marinated. Perfect tortillas round out an incredible and simple plate of tacos. Or a bowl. Or a burrito. Honestly, there's nothing bad here. Beans, rice and guacamole are typically not something I order but they're so so good and are a great addition to one of their meals. I've waited a looooong time there and had items missing and have been so pissed off, vowing to never come back but the instant I take a bite I remember why I come here. Just call way ahead of time, plan to wait and hold them accountable.

Yelp
Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum. (and maybe add a few more yums). We came here based on the Yelp reviews, and we couldn't believe it was so positively reviewed. My husband and I recently moved from southern California, and we were completely prepared to make a quality Mexican food for quality Asian food trade-- but now that we know about this place, we don't have to! The hype is not overstated, and this place would be a winner even in SoCal. My husband got the wet chorizo burrito, which by the way is HUGE, and it was a symphony in your mouth. The chorizo was perfectly spice and cooked, the rice was so flavorful, and the sauce divine. I was more than happy to help him finish it (or steal some from him- as he might argue). I got the asada torta based on a photo I saw on Yelp and it was one of the best tortas I've had in a long time. The pickled jalapeños with the guacamole, and the perfectly tender asada made for a perfect meal. I cannot wait to go back and try more of their food! Unfortunately, they were out of horchata, so we couldn't try that on this trip, but definitely will try next time! This place is perfect for comfort food take out, but probably not great for eating there. They have 2 small tables and it is next to a fairly busy road.
google avatar

Jayde L.

Yelp
Amazing!!! The tacos were fresh and I saw them grilling everything up! They weren't soggy or super greasy, the tortillas seemed homemade! The rice was definitely made fresh and the beans weren't the kind out of the can. This place is 100% authentic and I don't have a single complaint! I will most definitely be returning(:
google avatar

Satish G.

Yelp
Best veggie tacos ever. Healthy, tasty, filling, cheap, hygienic, service. Ticked all the boxes for us. And they did not skimp on anything, each taco had tons of veggies, many different varieties, and they put an extra tortilla for each taco. All for 2 bucks. How are they even breaking even!?! If you don't believe me, check the photos attached to my review. We are coming back again. 200%.
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
Well deserved 5 stars. I was surprised to find this food truck in this neighborhood. Lucky to have stayed in a nearby Airbnb. Only tried the street tacos and mulitas. Both were good and service was great. There's two small tables outside to eat, everything looks very clean. They even have grasshoppers. I was feeling adventurous enough but maybe you are
google avatar

Alyssa G.

Yelp
WOW! I was craving tacos and normally steer clear of food trucks, but this one went well beyond my expectations in all the right ways. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is fantastic! Their menu has a great selection and almost everything comes with a Coke included. Prices weren't bad either. Everything was very flavorful and portions were perfect. Even the rice and beans were yummy! HIGHLY recommend! :)
google avatar

Maddy P.

Yelp
Delicious! I went with family who has been talking about this place for a while. We ordered a variety of things. Tacos, quesadillas, etc. Most everything was really good! The beans were just okay. The food did take a while to wait for, but it was worth the wait. We got caught in a rainstorm while waiting. So we were grateful for the covering they had. I'll go back next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Acacia P.

Yelp
Unable to find a good working number to order ahead for this truck. Tacos were mediocre. Chicken is probably the best out of the three that my group tried. The steak tacos had meat that was fatty and over cooked. Seasoning was okay but needed to add salsa to all tacos. Fish tacos were okay as well. I will say that the red salsa is good and has a nice heat. A bit over priced for okay tacos. I don't think myself or coworkers will return. While ordering it was reported that the customer service was rude also. This is a cash only truck with no ATMs in sight. Pricing from Yelp pictures are not up to date Chicken tacos - 2.00 each Asado tacos - 2.50 each Fish tacos - 3.50 each Overpriced
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
This place was nearby where I was so I stopped by to grab some fish tacos and a carne torta. I did enjoy the food! Fish tacos come with plenty of fish, I don't think the fish is deep fried, but pan-fried. Also the torta was good too, my dad finished the rest of the sandwich, he sure does love meat. They have a small but not too small menu, their food truck seems so tiny, I wonder how they manage to make so much food in that tiny truck! Magic? Cash only! Its good to know this place is nearby if I'm in need of some Mexican fix.
google avatar

Ed Q.

Yelp
Yelp delivers again, with all the 5 star reviews, I finally tried it myself today for lunch and it was awesome. We ordered Tlayudas with chicken and al pastor (half and half), fish taco plate and carnitas bowl. Tlayudas is like a Mexican Pizza with flavorful meats, cheese, veggie and beans piled on. If you like your food spicy, try their red sauce. It adds great flavor with big kicks. Rice is super flavorful, I have my fair share of Mexican food in CA but I have to say this is indeed very authentic and worthy of 5 stars. Be sure to call ahead though as they tend to take a little more time to prepare but well worth the wait. Highly recommended!!
google avatar

Kristine W.

Yelp
LEGIT. It's dangerous having this place so close to my apartment. Their tacos and tostadas are DELICIOUS! This totally reminds me of food I'd get back home in Southern California. The fish tacos are nicely fried and not breaded but full of cabbage and delicious sauce. The veggie tostada with beans, cabbage and queso fresco - delicious! My husband has ordered the chicken quesadilla which is quite large and flavorful. I definitely want to try a torta and their chorizo soon. Let's make corners great again! :D
google avatar

Buck W.

Yelp
So glad I stumbled across this place. This is a taco truck with an Oaxacan flair they even have grasshoppers on the menu. I had a asada torta that was probably the best torta that I've ever had. it was a rainy day so the wait seemed to be a bit but the food is made fresh to order. I was the only gringo there so you know it's good. They have oone table under cover and another out in the open. They are cash only!
google avatar

Maria R.

Yelp
Two words. REAL HORCHATA. One of the big draws to this truck is that they don't make their horchata from a powdered mix. It's the real deal. Took a star off because they don't have lengua or tripa tacos. But their carne asada, al pastor, chorizo, and vegetarian tacos are solid. (Chorizo and al pastor were my favorites. The asada and vegetarian tacos were average.) Another winning plato: the taquitos with beans and rice. The beans are made-from-scratch creamy and the rice was soft and fluffy. The taquitos are topped with a cabbage mixture that's the perfect compliment to their crunch. Parking is easy after hours but I'm not sure how busy the little strip next to the food truck is during the day. There's also just one picnic table so you may have to dine in your car. CASH ONLY! They don't take cards.
google avatar

AJ A.

Yelp
Great spot for tasty Oaxacan food. Definitely one of my favorites on the North end. Al pastor is my favorite meat option, but they have great variety of proteins and veggie options. My favorite dishes are the mulitas and the enchiladas. Mulitas are not too oily and have the perfect crispy texture. Even after the drive home. They offer great hot sauces as well. There is not a covered dining area, but are located near a parking lot for quick and easy access.
google avatar

steven B.

Yelp
Ceviche!! Food is excellent owners are very kind! Get the red hot sauce it's a scorcher.
google avatar

Yang Y.

Yelp
The five star review is worthy. This place indeed slaps. My go to north seattle mexican spot.
google avatar

Carlos B.

Yelp
I love food, I love this place, I love small businesses like this. This family rocks with authentic cuisine from their land Guajaca MX. I visit this place every week since they are very close to my work place. The prices are very affordable and taxes are included on the price. I've enjoyed every meal from this little food trailer, my favorite are wet burritos! fish tacos are a morir, best veggie tacos in seattle.

Christine C.

Yelp
Holy. Those were the best tacos I've ever had in Seattle. Better than Carmellos and Chukis. The tortilla was soft and fresh. The meat was crispy and juicy and strongly flavored. The pineapple was perfectly grilled. Get the street tacos, only $6 for 4. Asada and Al Pastor were amazing. I'll be back to try their mole next time.
google avatar

Javier L.

Yelp
Everyone keeps talking about this place . I finally went to try it because ; Mexican food is hard to find in the city . The big tacos is just the tortilla and the meat is blah . ( got carnitas) . The big burrito has lettuce ? Why ? . The hot hat was good . Maybe I will try something else one day .
google avatar

Cinthia R.

Yelp
Great food, authentic as you can get, the tlayudas are delicious! I've tried the tacos, tortas, they were good, but the steak burrito was my winner. I live in Kenmore so for me is a 20 mins drive to this food truck, but well worth it. I've hear they added delivery, so I will try that option.

Angela C.

Yelp
Very friendly service! Went there for first time about a month ago to try the tlayuda. It was great. The waiting time for the tlayuda was about an hour because there were a lot of customers at the time we went. We were told about the waiting time and decided to wait and try it. It was worth it.
