The Best Restaurants in Denton | Eater Dallas

"There are burger joints in Denton, and then there is the beloved LSA. Eating here is a tradition for University of North Texas students and locals alike. The burgers are named after music superstars, do order up a Waylon (a classic burger), Chili Willie (a take on a chili burger with Fritos), and for vegans, try the Psychedelic (a mushroom instead of meat, obviously). The parmesan fries are just as beloved as the burgers. It’s right on the Square in Downtown, with a patio that couldn’t have a better view of the courthouse. For those who prefer to stay home, however, there is the option to order online." - Courtney E. Smith

Very nice roof top burger joint. Great view of the courthouse and several nice murals on the walls. Burgers were exceptional, and the sides were very good also. Drink service was a little slow, but they had multiple big tables ordering specialty drinks that took a while to mix.

Google
First of all, I love Denton! The square is where everything happens. There are buskers playing live music, college students studying in the grass, and art on the walls. This is why Lone Star Attitude shines so strong here! LSA Burgers is filled with great Texan music, Texan pride, and a love for Jesus! The food and atmosphere are a unique experience to be relished! Texas sized burgers are certain to delight.

If Denton had a burger throne, LSA Burger would be sitting on it—wearing a cowboy hat and holding a brisket queso scepter. 🎨 The Vibe Walking into LSA is like entering a Texas-meets-pop-art fever dream—in the best way. The legendary Texas Last Supper mural is always a photo op, and the rotating local art on the walls adds a funky, community-driven touch. Add rooftop seating with views of the square? Chef’s kiss. It’s a whole Denton experience before your food even hits the table. 🍔 The Food They don’t just serve burgers—they serve statements on buns. Los Lonely: The fan favorite, and for good reason. Classic, juicy, reliable. Ready Freddie + Psychedelic: Flavor explosions, and perfect for the adventurous. Brisket Queso: Honestly, worth coming for this alone. Melted cheese, smoky brisket, crispy chips = yes. Parmesan Fries: Crispy, garlicky, and slightly addictive. (You’ve been warned.) Portions are solid, and the creativity in the menu keeps it fun without feeling gimmicky. 🙌 The Service Generally great—most servers are friendly, upbeat, and quick on their feet. That said, during busy times (weekends, events, or a perfect patio day), expect a bit of a wait. Not a dealbreaker, but good to know. ⚠️ The Cons (Because honest reviews matter) Crowds: This place is popular for a reason—rooftop or not, expect a wait during peak times. Prices: It's definitely not fast-food pricing. You're paying a little more for the experience and the setting. Noise: It can get loud, especially indoors. Don’t expect a quiet catch-up dinner here. Parking: Denton Square parking is what it is—cute, quirky, and often full. Plan ahead or prepare to circle. 🏁 Final Word LSA Burger isn’t just another burger joint. It’s a full-on Denton experience—bold flavors, vibrant art, and a rooftop view that makes everything taste better. Whether you're a longtime local or just visiting, it’s a spot that absolutely delivers. Is it a little loud, a little crowded, and a bit pricier than some others? Sure. Is it worth it? Every. Single. Time.

Google
Overall and great place and a super cool view. The upstairs patio has a great vibe. I ad the Double Trouble burger which was really good. I actually had to eat it with a fork because it was so full of toppings. The whole burger slid around so was very difficult to eat as a standard burger. Ton of meat on that one! I might recommend getting the snake venom on the side unless you love heat. It appears to be roaster jalapeños that are then chopped or blended. It’s sneaky hot. Really good food and burgers so would definitely go back.

Google
Awesome Burger joint! Best in Denton! Endless Burger options or build your own. Try the Parmesan fries, they're a hit too! Conner was the best waiter we've ever had and we've been coming for years~

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Stars – LSA Burger Spot is a Must-Visit! If you’re in Denton and craving a killer burger, LSA Burger Spot is the place to be! The burgers are solid, but the garlic Parmesan fries? Next level! Pair them with their house fry dip, and you’re in for a treat. Our server, Kwasi, was absolutely fantastic—personable, attentive, and genuinely delightful. He made the experience even better! And let’s talk about the rooftop atmosphere—amazaballs! The vibe is fun, energetic, and exactly what you want for a great night out. 5/5 stars—highly recommend! Go check it out, grab a burger, load up on those fries, and soak in the rooftop vibes. You won’t regret it!

Google
Eric was our amazing server for my party of 6. The service was awesome and the food was DELICIOUS. Everyone in my party was very satisfied with their meal. I got the Georgie Boy and I highly recommend you try it!

Amiah T.

Yelp
Food was great, sitting from the roof top looking at the courthouse, our server Eric did great, he was so nice and attentive. The setting was such a lovely peaceful type of vice, I have to return.

Yelp
A great place to enjoy the day, from atop the largest business on our Denton, Texas square. Everything is dedicated to the Denton community, where the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University help students in the arts and sciences help mold and develop the minds of the students -- opening doors and fertilizing the students' experiences with snippets of real life. I went to North Texas State University from 1981 to 1985, and learned enough to take the degree, Magna cum Laude, before heading south to the University of Houston, where I graduated in December 1992. Cheers, Mark F.

Yelp
After driving from Allen to Denton, we sat on their rooftop for the view and the food and were told the big tables were reserved for large parties only. The restaurant was not half full and there were at least 3-4 big top tables open, along with several four tops. Very disappointed.

Yelp
This was one my favorite restaurants until today. I was not allowed my ESA dog on the patio today, and was forced to leave. Although she is an ESA and Texas law allows any dogs on patios. I've suffered from PTSD for 20 years and this place CAN allow dogs but refuses to. I've been in a flare up for a month, and was hoping to finally get out of the house with support. I've even seen multiple dogs here without being service animals. The evil bald manager says he doesn't have to comply with allowing her because ESAs are not part of the American disabilities act. Great! Have an awful day!

Yelp
MAN what an awesome visit. Burger, service, vibe and ambiance, wait time, menu. Man, cannot wait to go back. Layla was super sweet and super cool and took great care of us. Michelle (GM, I believe) stopped by to visit with us, help take care of us and make sure our 1st visit was awesome - and then took us for a great tour after we finished eating. What awesome people! My burger was perfect, and I'm a burger snob (I rarely eat them, so it'd better be good!), and my wife's veggie burger was much talked about in glowing terms by her. The fries were also awesome - and generous portion. Very glad we shared them, because after my burger, I didn't need even half of that serving. Texas beef, too, with the ranch proudly named on the menu. No imported beef from South American areas where they burned down rainforest to make grazing areas for cattle here! Proud Texas beef, yessir! Check out pics for awesome decor. This place rocks!!

Yelp
Great food, fun service, and really funny menus! Be sure to loik at the huge mural near the entrance, too!

Yelp
We're new to the area, just bought a house here in Denton & this place is really good !! Really good burgers and we LOVED the chips & brisket queso. Man, starting to live in Texas, you guys LOOOVE your brisket. I could see why !! You guys put it in everything !! We went on a Thursday night and it was pretty packed. The ambience is chill & cool. There was a couple behind us having a first date and her friends were in front of us making sure she's safe. It was sooo cute to see that!!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food. Good service. Appetizers are good. We've tried several dishes from salad to burgers. My suggestion is to get the sauce on the side. Buns tend to fall apart when you're eating the burgers.
google avatar

Yelp
Located on the downtown square in Denton. Good burgers and sides with decent selection of craft beers. Friendly staff and quick service. large roof top patio, if it's not to hot.

Yelp
We went to LSA in Denton, Texas omg it was amazing, the chili cheese, fries with jalapeños, and onions were my absolute favorite. but there is what I jumped into brag about. we had this waiter named James a handsome red head he was awesome. He had great recommendations " the chili cheese fries that I love so much." and was an expert on the drink menu. we had several cocktails. They were all amazing and he of them. The service was great and we will be going back very soon. thank you, thank you for your service that you provided at LSA that day!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Normally, i don't go up to denton, but we were checking out the city since there was a event going on this past weekend. i saw this place with over 1k reviews, and figured we should check it out. When we walked up, we noticed people waiting outside, so we thought it was going to take a while to get seated. But they had seating upstairs, and we got seated immediately. I guess the people waiting outside wanted to sit inside, which makes sense as it was very hot the weekend we went. The upstairs roof patio is nice, and would be a lot nicer if it wasn't so hot. there was a live band playing and everyone seemed like they were enjoying themselves. we ended up getting the ready freddie and the psychedelic (mushroom) burger. We also got the garlic parm herb fries. i think the reason i gave this place 3 stars instead of 4 stars, are the burgers buns were really soggy. it was hard to hold the burger and enjoy, as the juices from the patty and veggies kept leaking onto the bottom bun. Also, the psychedelic burger was lacking flavor. I did enjoy the flavor of the ready freddie burger though. The best item was actually the garlic parm herb fries. it comes with a small cup of sauce, which definitely enhances the flavor. Service was great. Luckily, i found parking very close by. i don't believe this place has a dedicated parking lot, and you'll need to park on the street.

Yelp
LSA is a classic Denton square staple. You should absolutely try it. They have great decor inside, nice rooftop set up with live music, and great food. The service is pretty solid, we have been multiple times and never had a bad experience. I have a weird and specific food allergy and they have always been wonderful with accommodations.
google avatar

Yelp
It's okay, I've had better. It's like one of those millennial burger places. Berger is low-key expensive and fries are not included. I go but just because I have a gift card. Always pretty loud and my server be sweating

Yelp
Wednesday afternoon visit. Fun little college town joint. What we liked: * Immediate seating inside (Ac) or outside. * decor was fun- liked the Texas last supper mural. * Great service. * Parmesan fries were delicious. * Brisket queso could be eaten with just a spoon. What could of been better: * Not a big deal but parking could be an issue for some. Parked a block away. * The drinks were just ok- had a couple house cocktails and jet eh. * The burger was big but was underwhelming- not a lot of flavor and the bun seemed stale. Cool place. Fun vibe. Would have a beer next time with brisket queso and try something else.
google avatar

Autumn K.

Yelp
Had the blood orange marg on the rocks upstairs. The place is really cool inside, and they had a live band. The bartender was attentive. They have food as well, and the menu looked pretty good but we just went for a few drinks. Cool spot!
google avatar

Robin W.

Yelp
Great Burgers. The server was also super helpful. We were unsure if the Dr pepper sauce in the brisket queso was going to be to sweet so he offered to have it put on the side which turned out to be a great option!
google avatar

Blake B.

Yelp
I went into LSA today and had amazing service and food. My server Jasmin was amazing! So outgoing and helpful. Definitely will come back.
google avatar

Stuart B.

Yelp
Great food. Very clean yes. The only thing that stops me from giving them full stars is when we eat inside sometimes they play death metal music very loud. Lots of screaming and yelling. I think the cooks like it. But the middle aged patrons like me. Do not want to be yelled at with death metal while we eat.

Yelp
Service was excellent , ambiance also great! I hung out at the upstairs bar and it's very cool ..... I'd say the food was a 3.5 maybe a 4...... I had a burger with a side salad and I'd say it was nothing to write home about .... However overall it's a cool place ! And I love the music history audio playing in the restroom ..... Downtown Denton rocks!

Christy H.

Yelp
The Chili Willie burger was amazing. I also had the chips and guacamole witch I will also recommend. The service was fantastic. I loved the decor. If im ever in town again I will definitely dine here again. Absolutely loved this place

Ava S.

Yelp
LSA Burger is my favorite in Denton! The garlic fries and queso are the best. Great rooftop vibes, friendly service, our server Jasmin did an amazing job taking care of us. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
Great location & service! I had a new waitress today that did an excellent job serving and I enjoyed the other staff making sure we were doing okay and took off finished plates from our table. I tried the los lonely and it was delicious. LSA is definitely a great vibe- we said inside on the top since upstairs was too busy.
google avatar

Tiffaney C.

Yelp
Amazing service, view and food! Loved everything about this venue! We had a mule & the ZZ Top Marg. Pictured is the reposado tequila, which was comparable to casamigos or 1800, but smoother. The margarita was the best I've had EVER and I'm a tequila and margarita snob. Scott was the bartender and he made the experience phenomenal! Brisket queso, parm fries and chilli Willie burger was our meal. All three were amazing and we would totally order again. Highly recommend this place, everything was awesome! Zero complaints just a great experience!
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
One of the best burgers in Denton, so many amazing options. The chili cheese fries are a must try too.
google avatar

Tina B.

Yelp
Love the vibe here. My husband and I came here on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't that busy. We sat at the rooftop and shared a burger and tenders. It was beautiful. Food was okay though. I think it's more focus on the drinks here but our waiter was great. He was very helpful and helped us with the menu since it was our first time there. I Love that they do have live music here on the weekends. I gotta come back to check out the live music soon.

Dirk K.

Yelp
Great food, very limited menu which is a plus because what they do they do well. The staff has been amazing every time we have gone . Great vibe in the place very comfortable and inviting. We have not even tried other places around when we are off the square because there is little point. I do wish they offered onion rings though.
google avatar

Bryan G.

Yelp
LSA stands for Lone Star Attitude In the Lone Star I'm from they are friendly, knowledgeable and know how to make amazing burgers Also, they have access to Jalepenos - jalapeños are more Texan than Cowboy boots, yet somehow they don't offer them here This place makes Mediocre burgers, brings you lukewarm beer and has a young hostess who is happily clueless Very overrated
google avatar

Francisco G.

Yelp
We returned for another bite at LSA Burger! This time the weather was perfect to sit on the rooftop with some light music in the background. Our trip today was memorable thanks to our server Gabriella who kept us fed and happy. All of our food was crunchy, crispy, and cheesy as can be. We cannot wait to visit again!

Marlene T.

Yelp
Incredible staff from start to finish. I've never had a waiter more attentive and helpful as Miller. He was wonderful. Food and drinks were fantastic and the whole vibe of the place was excellent.
google avatar

Amiee B.

Yelp
Everyone ordered a burger but me they were delicious and big! I order chicken strips. The batter was like a funnel cake batter. Side salad was delicious and the Parmesan fries we all shared was the best!! The sangria wasn't the best. More like a fruit punch drink.

Cullen C.

Yelp
10/10 food, super delicious, they have a decent selection. Garlic and Parmesan fries were my favorite. The staff is super friendly and like helping you. The vibe here is pretty nice too. I'm from the Chicago suburbs, so this was a nice change of scenery. Also, the price was VERY reasonable. I would absolutely come back here
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
Great burgers, atmosphere, music, view, drinks, and fries. FYI the fry orders are large enough to share (small feeds 2 and large feeds 4)
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
One of my daughters wanted to go, because she loves the brisket queso. We went and found that they were pretty busy. They wanted to seat us upstairs but I recall from last time how hot it is upstairs during August in Denton and asked for a downstairs table. It was LOUD. Lots of noise from the kitchen, and the music is turned up, which means everyone has to shout. It was very warm. A breezeway at the front door sure would help. The brisket queso was pretty good, if a little short on smoke. Our only complaint was that the chunks of brisket were too big for dipping, and we had no utensils. Oh, and the white corn tortilla chips were entirely too delicate for dipping queso dip with. The chips broke in the dip every time as it began to cool. I ordered a draft beer, but learned that their tap system was down, so took a bottle poured in a glass. The waiter was friendly and pretty good, but we couldn't hear each other very well. Poor guy. We got burgers and learned that the burgers are á la carte; they don't come with fries. I stupidly ordered garlic parmesan fries, which I was to learn were regular fries with garlic seasoning and dry pizza parlor-style pre-grated parmesan powder dumped dry (though admittedly liberally) over the fries, without being broiled or toasted thereafter. Served with fry sauce, these were mediocre. Our burgers were fine. Nothing special. We learned that adding avocado adds $2, and a cheese or gluton-free bun is an extra $2. Three people, three burgers, two sides and two drinks: $83 before tip. Add a $20% tip and that's a hundred dollars. I wished that we'd gone to Denton Independent. The staff were pleasant. Going to the bathroom to wash my hands, I had to contend with kitchen pass-bar traffic server traffic while an expediter hollered "Order Up!" to runners. The paper towel dispenser didn't work, and I had to pull the door open into the bathroom with my wet hands. Unsanitary.

Yelp
Located in Downtown Denton, this restaurant is pretty darn cool. Best of all, they are one of a few restaurants in Denton that are actually open late. They have seating and a bar on multiple levels. I was with a party of 7, so we decided to sit on the rooftop. The seating is comfortable and the murals on the walls definitely go with the vibe of the place. It was a comfortable night outside and refreshing to look up and see the night sky as we sat at our table and talked. We also had a fantastic view of the Denton County Courthouse which was illuminated in blue lights. The food tasted fresh, hot and delicious. I had the Vegan patty and it didn't disappoint... in fact, it was so good that I had to double-check to make sure it wasn't real beef. Everyone but me ordered drinks, they said the drinks were strong and tasted great. I would've given LSA Burger 5 stars, but our server was lacking big-time. She had a bad attitude and acted as if she didn't want to be working. She was rolling her eyes at the members of our group that modified their burgers, she also didn't visit our table much or offer any refills. LSA could've made so much more money on drinks from our group if she had just checked in with our table a couple of times . A few of our orders came to the table wrong, she snatched up the plates and huffed as she carried them back to the kitchen. We were all shocked at her attitude and the fact that she wasn't even trying to be even a little nice. Overall, this is a great place to chill, hang with friends, and enjoy a delicious meal in a cool environment. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in Denton... I'd just ask for a different server next time. Highly Recommended!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday for lunch and got seated right away. The service here is awesome and our waiter was great. It took literally less than 5 mins for our food to come out! Highly recommend the garlic parmesan fries. We sat upstairs in the mezzanine and it was great. Would definitely come back.
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Friday night. They have an incredible selection of burgers and craft cocktails. The brisket nachos were . Our waiter, Aidan, was amazing!! By far the best service we've received from any restaurant in Denton. Highly recommend visiting this spot for lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's start with the service y'all. It's top-notch in every sense. From the moment you walk in up until you're leaving, you're greeted by multiple workers and assisted in a timely manner. Awesome group of people. I loved how open the seating area was. It doesn't feel suffocating as it's roomy and overall provides a comfortable atmosphere. 10/10. I ordered the "Psychedelic" Burger as I was in the mood for mushrooms? Don't ask me why, just was. The burger wasn't bursting with flavor, however, it was juicy and had just the right amount of seasoning to be devoured completely. My partner got the "Double Trouble" burger. All I know is that the burger was huge and pretty messy to eat so be prepared to grab tons of napkins. Regardless, the burger was gone so that did not deter him. NOW THE BRISKET QUESO??? Just get it. Thank me later. Enjoy!!

Yelp
I chose LSA Burger for my birthday dinner this year and had so much fun! We were a party of 10 and immediately seated on the rooftop at 7:30pm on a Saturday which was a pleasant surprise. We made it just in time for the sunset shots which was a lot of fun. The burgers were super good, and the margarita flight was perfect to share even if it was a bit too sweet for me. They feature vegetarian options on the menu that can be modified to be vegan. They also gave me a brownie dessert for my birthday. It was a lot of fun and a great place for large groups and loud gatherings. :)

Cesar C.

Yelp
Had the pepper jack cheese burger with roasted peppers the meat lacked seasoning but the peppers and cheese had a good flavor 3 stars for the lack of seasoning on the meat on the burger would go back give it another shot . Friend got a bacon burger with American cheese similar feed back just a lack of seasoning on the meat
google avatar

Lanelle R.

Yelp
Great burgers. They don't mind changing a few menu items to accommodate you. Great beer choices. Fries are excellent. Decor is fun and they only play Texas music so expect a neat mix From country to Beyoncé. The patio upstairs is the best if the weather is okay. The bar seating is huge so that's a quicker option. The slaw is good too!
google avatar

Marcella T.

Yelp
Good service, good drinks, great food! I will return. Went before dinner rush, ate upstairs. Burger was seasoned to perfection.
google avatar

Monica R.

Yelp
There was a host at the door right as we walked in. The place is pretty sweet! There was a giant Texas made of instruments behind the door. There was also a painting on the wall near the entrance with Jesus and many dead music artists. Our server was ok. He explained the menu and answered questions we had. The brisket queso was acceptable. The brisket was very tender but the wueso was kind of like velveeta type cheese. I had the los lonely. My burger was amazing! The beef was seasoned nicely. It was cooked about medium. The bun was lightly toasted. That made so much of a difference. The black beans and brown rice was so tasty! The beans had a tiny bit of spice. I tasted my daughter's fries. They were nicely salted and crispy. We really enjoyed our meal. I will definitely have to bring my husband here.
google avatar

Joe H.

Yelp
LSA burger is a great place to have an old-fashioned burger. The appetizers are wonderful, I do recommend sitting indoors and not upstairs when it's super hot but the views from the upper deck is amazing. The staff did a great job with their customer service and serving us on time. The drinks especially the flights were something that I found to be awesome. We've been to this restaurant multiple times and whenever we're looking for a burger that's not fast food we come to LSA burger.
google avatar

Twana S.

Yelp
Scott is great! Fabulous food and great service!!! Cool music too! Sit upstairs and overlook the square of Denton!
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
Unforgettable folks! A casual, energetic, friendly, beautiful, welcoming restaurant with colossal burgers and an array of delicious cocktails.
google avatar

Lynda W.

Yelp
Great meal at LSA Burger!! If you are not n Denton, this is a great spot on the Square
google avatar

Nia R.

Yelp
Noah was amazing. Above and beyond our service we expected. We are visiting from Florida and he treat us with nothing but a Texas smile. Made us feel at home as soon as we entered. Also the manager Michelle was also so friendly and gave us great advice on Texas cold weather.

Gabe C.

Yelp
The food has been excellent every time I've come here! The fries were delicious with their sauce and the burgers are all great, but I'm partial to the Los Lonely personally. As for service, they are incredibly attentive and very kind! My server Hailey was great today. No other notes here The ambience is pretty sweet too! A rock and roll vibe with posters and paintings and good music. One final note: I believe that the Frisco location is just barely better. This is purely because the Frisco location uses wagyu burgers, making the party juicier (or at least that's what the server told me). Overall, one of my favorite spots in Denton so far. I'll be back!
