Google
Food: good in general, but something like Pho is not as rich in flavor compared to how it tastes in Vietnam Service: pretty good Atmosphere: not very pleasant during peak hours. The restaurant plays loud music and the guests were shouting one over another to be able to hear

Lua is Edison’s answer to the question: What if Vietnamese food could be both soulful and selective? The pho tastes like someone’s grandma made it—if that grandma had a Michelin star and a disdain for shortcuts. The beef over rice? Tender enough to make you pause mid-bite and reconsider your life choices. The interior is bright and punchy, with orange accents that scream modern chic. It’s not cheap—and thank God. The slightly steeper price point acts like a velvet rope, keeping the ambiance calm, the clientele curated, and the dining room blissfully free of chaos.

The food was good. The place is BYOB. I liked that the waitress didn’t rush us to leave. I really like the Ube coffee. Would go back. They give discounts if you pay with cash.

The place is under staffed the tables needed to be busted but the server was very nice , pho lua, pho chay I added chicken to it , shrimp and dumpling pho all very good , crab wonton excellent I didn’t like the avocado smoothing not good , sushi good . The place ambience very good bathroom some what clean . Hire more staff and keep the server I had and you could be 5 star.

Google
Very disappointed with this restaurant. On a Wednesday night, I waited over 45 minutes for my pho to come out, and when it finally arrived, the noodles were cold, clumped together, and broke apart as I tried to separate them. Definitely not the quality or experience I expected.

Google
Good food. Great service. Friendly staff. Beautiful interior. Went there on a Monday brunch, place was basically empty so we were served quick. Beef pho, avocado roll were delicious. It’s my first time trying Viet cuisine so i’m not sure how authentic it is but a Viet friend recommended this so this must be good.

Google
Cozy little pho place. Service was good and friendly. Soup was very tasty and hot. Only complaint is that the banh mi was missing a little more flavor

Google
Such a lovely experience! The food was so fresh and full of flavor. I had the grilled chicken with rice — perfectly cooked, tender, and seasoned just right. I also tried the fresh avocado rice rolls, and they were light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted so vibrant and authentic. I’ll definitely be coming back

Yelp
Lua Vietnamese Cuisine is such a solid find--especially if you're craving pho on a budget. I came in for a quick dinner and left feeling full, happy, and already planning my next visit. For our appetizer, the summer rolls were fresh, tightly wrapped, and came with a classic peanut hoisin sauce that balanced everything out. A perfect light starter. The $10 pho is the star of the menu. While I found the broth a bit on the lighter side--less depth than some traditional spots--the noodles were still flavorful, comforting, and honestly hard to beat for the price. The portion was generous, and the meat was tender and fresh. For ten bucks? Yes please! I also tried the ube coconut coffee, and yum! Creamy, slightly sweet, and with that signature Vietnamese coffee punch--it's like dessert in a cup, but not overly rich. Definitely something I'd go back for alone if in the area. The space is clean, modern, and relaxed, and the staff were kind and helpful. Great for a casual meal that won't drain your wallet. Would give it 5 stars if the broth had a bit more depth--but for $10? Still totally worth it.

Yelp
After a long drive we wanted Vietnamese food, specifically Pho. We did a quick search and saw that this was near our hotel, so we went here. Service was good! Staff were friendly. However the food was mid. On the menu they had chicken pho with the chicken egg. I ordered that, and saw they offered a side of the eggs as well. I got that and it wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting the yellow tiny chicken egg, but what I got was 2 l raw eggs in a bowl. The price is pretty high for food that was just ok. If you do try the place, get everything else except the pho.

Yelp
We ordered 2 Kids meal grilled pork chops, grilled chicken Pho soup, beef pho soup, veggies pho soup. For apps, we ordered spring rolls and summer rolls. The pork chops were delicious. Perfect portions for someone who doesn't eat much. The apps were made perfectly. The spring rolls were delicious. All our 3 Pho soups were good. Especially the grilled chicken pho. They used the same marinates as the pork chops. Overall all, we will come here again! Also, hot tea is free! The service was quick.

Yelp
Lua is conveniently located in the Hmart shopping plaza in Edison. It has a decent sized footprint in one of the newer buildings in the plaza. Pros - there is a parking lot, great location for multi-taskers looking to hit up the spa (Island Spa across the way), grocery (HMart), Korean skin/beauty shop, and bakery (Paris Baguette). It was and rainy day so a bowl of Pho hit the spot. Delicious broth, which could probably be sipped on its own. The ration of meat noodles and veggies was perfect for the size bowl. My husband had the steak on a skillet. Great flavors but I felt it was too salty and that the sauces overtook the meat. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We were there on a weekday so it wasn't busy. I would need to come back to try other menu items to get a better read on what I think. TBD!

Yelp
Battled the HMart parking lot to come to Lua Vietnamese Cuisine in Edison. While the ambiance was nice, the overall experience was underwhelming. *FOOD* The food itself was okay. We tried the Banh Xeo ($15) which I think could be improved if the crepe part was not soggy from the watery bean sprouts and onions. The Pho Lua / Beef Noodle Soup ($18) was decent and the broth flavorful. It came with an ample variety of meats, though can be a bit pricey. IMO I think you're mostly paying for the nice ambiance here. *SERVICE* Service was mediocre. While dishes came out a decent pace, we weren't greeted warmly, and it didn't seem like they were particularly attentive or enthusiastic towards customers either. Everything about this place is just ok. Overall, it was just an average spot for me. There are other Viet spots in Edison that offer better value and more personable service.

Yelp
Have been here twice so far first time I tried the bun bo hue the second time the hu tieu and banh khot. All of them were tasty the banh khot was nice and crispy. The food is well made, authentic, and ingredients fresh. Service prompt and attentive. Interior is clean with nice soft music on overhead. Have also stopped by multiple times to get vietnamese iced coffee to go which have been good every time.

Yelp
Love this place. Delicious. The portions were very generous and the prices were reasonable. Friendly staff

Yelp
My sister and I dropped in for a quick lunch. The restaurant was really clean and inviting. The as soon as you walk in the staff welcomes you in. It was a little of a struggle because he was unsure of the menu. We ordered the seafood fried rice, which he stated only had shrimp..... this was false because it had shrimp, squid, imitation crab ans some find of fish ball. My sister didn't like it. The pho broth was super flavorful. The porkchops were yummy but a little over cooked. I will be back to try other options
google avatar

Yelp
The ba vi was absolutely delicious. It comes with grilled pork (nicely flavored, slightly charred, not too fatty), beef in grape leaves (juicy, flavorful - my favorite part of the dish), and minced shrimp packed together in a fried ball (very good as well). The pho was also good - a little bit on the lighter side, but was well portioned. They have Pho Wednesdays, which has a discount on Pho (the one where you pick your toppings manually).

Yelp
Update-February 23, 2025 We went for Sunday lunch here. We ordered grilled Pork Chop plates and mini pancakes appetizer. The food taste great. Our Server was friendly and helpful. Very clean and nice ambiance. Lots of parking, but on Sundays it's very hard to get parking.

Yelp
I like their Bun bo hue as well as their pork chop over rice. I've ordered a few times and their Bun Bo hue has been on point. It's flavorful with a good ratio of noodles and meat. They are not stingy with their ingredients so for about $17 a bowl of soup, it is worthwhile. Their pork chop over rice comes with 2 pieces of nicely charred and flavorful pork chop that aren't dry like some other restaurants. The staff are generally pretty nice. The restaurant was clean and spacious each time I've gone. Their bathrooms are only 2 stalls (1 Ada and 1 regular) so just time it well if you don't like to wait in line for the bathroom on a busy day/night. Wednesdays are $10 pho days, I will come back and try their Wednesday special. Parking lot in front of the restaurant but can get pretty busy during the weekends.

Yelp
Delicious. Usually we go next door for conveyor sushi, but that place has lost its charm. Met a good friend to take him to a birthday lunch and we were very happy with the meals and service.

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time for lunch on a weekday afternoon as we were running errands. The place was kind of hard to find as it was kind of hidden in a corner and my GPS was not helpful at all as it kept directing me towards the day spa... But eventually we found it. They have pretty much the typical Vietnamese menu so to start we got the Crispy spring rolls $6 that only come two per order as opposed to four but they are on the larger side and are packed with a lot of tasty flavorful filling. For our mains we both got Pho... My hubby got the P1- Beef noodle soup $18 and I got the P5 Grilled chicken noodle soup $15 Hubby enjoyed his Pho and said the broth was rich and flavorful... Now my Pho came with grilled chicken, I've never had Pho where the meat was served on the side but I guess it makes sense so it doesn't get soggy. It was perfectly grilled and juicy with a delicious marinade. The chicken soup itself was ok... I added some hoisin sauce to give it more flavor but I didn't eat much of it, I had it packed up and hubby had it later for leftovers. I did eat all of that delicious grilled chicken however. Our service was great and I look forward to return and try some other dishes.

Yelp
Been to this spot three times already. The staff is always courteous. The food never misses their mark. Everything was so flavorful. The place has a modern style to it without being pretentious. Some of the items can be pricey, but they are well worth it. If you're hungry and want something different, go check out Lua.

Yelp
If I'm trying a new Vietnamese restaurant, I always have to try their beef pho and Bun bo hue. Upon arrival, the interior is beautifully decorated with plenty of tables. When we came here on a Tuesday, it was not packed whatsoever and we were seated immediately. Despite the low number of customers, we had bit a of a wait to place our order and get water for the table. - Beef pho: 3/5, lacking umami, missing the underlying beefy flavor - Bun bo hue: 3/5, a little sweet (I'm not sure if that is more traditional), but also had red pepper flakes which didn't bring out any spicy flavor at all For $16 a bowl, the pricing is a bit steep for the taste. I think they are still running $10 pho on Wednesdays, which may be more worth visiting for if you're looking for a bite to eat.

Yelp
This restaurant is not very authentic. The broth threw off the whole meal for me. The floors were dirty. The employees were disengaged. This looks "nice" inside, but it's not a good representation of Vietnamese food, in my opinion. Tip: The regular sized pho is actually very large. The kids sized pho was almost too much for me as well.

Yelp
Came here because they have a loyalty program that has fairly good promotions (at least currently). I thought that the food was tasty, and the portions were quite generous. Prices were reasonable (even without the promotion). It's a fairly large place Unfortunately it is in the H mart parking so parking can be quite chaotic.

Yelp
Great food & service. You gotta try the iconic Ube Coconut Iced Latte! Very flavorful, and has that kick of Vietnamese iced coffee to wake you up! This restaurant is pretty upscale in design and price compared to other Pho / Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Perfect for a special date night, or casual enough for a quick meal. I really enjoyed the lemongrass pork chops, which were generously portioned. Definitely come hungry!

Yelp
Everything are so goooood, except the bone marrow (very disappointed) I can't stop coming back Place is clean , services is fast.

Yelp
I adore this place. It's spacious and rarely feels overcrowded. The service is always on point, kind and attentive. Takeout and dine-in is always on time and never feels slow. Very good operation and flow. Food is delicious, super tasty and authentic. I usually eat the summer roll with shrimp but their vegetarian one with avocado is really refreshing and I've completely converted to eating that. The rice dishes are good. There's a dried seafood noodle dish that's not pictured here but it's a banger, has really good umami from the seafood. Must try!

Yelp
I ordered the Bún Bò Huế and I have to admit I was highly disappointed. The broth was completely bland had no flavor whatsoever. And also I had to ask for my side of bean sprout ,lime, and basil that comes with the order. I've been eating Bún Bò Huế for years all over the NYC and I have to admit this is one of the worst.

Yelp
My family travels all over the world and has eaten at restaurants based on travel channels or famous YouTubers. It was a rainy day, and we wanted to have Vietnamese food. The pho is delicious, and the grilled pork bam me is over the moon! The bread was toasted, and the vegetables and pork were crispy baked! The Vietnam iced coffee was perfect for my hubby's! We will definitely come back to try new dishes, such as pho and bum me.

Yelp
Someone sent me a BOGO rice platter, and the cold weather has made me crave some grilled pork chop. I got a grilled pork banh mi, steak rice platter, and pork chop rice platter. The rice platters came with soup and rice, along with some dipping vinegar. The grilled pork was a little dry, but it had plenty of flavor. The platters come with a bunch of sides including rice. Overall, it was a super filling dish. Service was a little busy, you can pay via qr code or up front too.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. Service was good, nothing special, just your average restaurant.

Yelp
This place really has a lot of potential but unfortunately it has been very inconsistent and overall not a place I'll likely be frequenting again anytime soon. First experience with the restaurant was ordering on GrubHub for delivery. That time I ordered the Bò Kho (Vietnamese Beef Stew serve with bread or rice noodle). It was very tasty and I was excited to try other items in the restaurant. I decided to come in with a few friends to celebrate a birthday. That time I reordered my Bò Kho dish and my friends ordered the Bún Bò Huế (Spicy Beef and Pork Noodle Soup), Phở Lúa (Beef Noodle Soup *Filet mignon, oxtail, brisket, tendon, beef ball, tripe, beef bone broth, rice noodle, onion, herb) and Bánh Khọt (Mini Savory Pancakes Ground Pork, Shrimp, Rice Flour, Coconut Milk, Onion, and Herbs), Sinh To Bo (Avocado Smoothie), and Iced Milk Coffee. Unfortunately my Bò Kho was not as good as the first time I had it just 3 weeks prior but it was not bad, just weird that it was inconsistent and not as good eating in house. My friends thought their meals and drinks were ok but there was not one item that we raved about. This last time we went we ordered the Bánh Khọt again, Cút Chiên Bơ (Butter Glazed Fried Quail), Bo Ne (Vietnamese Sizzling Steak & Egg - 6 Oz Filet Mignon, Double Running Egg, Pate, Tomato, and Housemade Sauce Served With Bread), Pho Bo Vien (Kid Menu item - beef noodle soup with meatballs), Bánh Canh Cua (Crab Tapioca Noodle Soup), Sinh To Bo, and Soda Chanh Muoi (Carbonated Salted Lemonade). Unfortunately this time my experience was even worse. The avocado smoothie was tasteless. We had to ask them to reblend it with more condensed milk and sugar. The Bánh Canh Cua was also very bland. We had to ask for fish sauce on the side to add to the broth. I would have to say that the fried quail was an interesting dish and was tasty. The steak and eggs were also pretty good according to the person who ordered it. Everything else was just ok but the bad was notable. It's just very disappointing that there were so many misses and inconsistencies even when we reordered some things on multiple visits. I think the service was ok (sometimes better than others) but they were understanding when we asked for things to be redone. I wish this place was better because it's in a great location in the HMart plaza which has no other Vietnamese options and has cute decor but it's misses the mark.

Yelp
I didn't like the banh cuon. It looked like rice paper that were wrapped. Won't order again

Yelp
Another awesome meal at Lua. I don't understand the low rating because the food is absolutely delicious here. And the service is impeccable. My absolute favorite dish here is the Vietnamese Dried Noodles. It is packed with flavors, and the noodles are always perfectly cooked. Moreover, it comes with a side of soup! Most of the dishes here are pretty good, and I always order the salty Vietnamese lemonade, it is out of this world. The only downside is that the pho is not the best, and not a big fan of the Bun Bo Hue. Can't wait to come back again for the dried noodles soon!

Yelp
We just loved this beautiful Vietnamese restaurant! The won ton soup was a HUGE hit! Two of us had the vermicelli with pork and shrimp & one had the same without the pork. One had the pho and loved it. I didn't care for the rice cake, which wasn't crisp and more like an omelet. Thai iced tea was a hit. I'm always impressed with a restaurant that provides quality take-home boxes so that my car isn't messed up. Service was excellent & we were even impressed with the very modern bathrooms! We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Worst pho I've ever tasted and I've had a lot of pho. The calamari was unseasoned, and the chicken was sauced w a flavorless coating. They show off w a flashy restaurant building and put no focus on making good food. The food made my head hurt and I wanted to throw up!!! The food we got: Pho w/ brisket and beef balls Grilled Chicken Pho Calamari

Yelp
We don't usually go out to eat Vietnamese food because my mom loves to cook. And her Vietnamese food at home is chef's kiss. My review might be a little biased/harsh only because I was blessed to have grown up on authentic Vietnamese food. We had actually tried their promotion for $10 Pho Wednesdays which is actually a good deal. It's the Pho option where you get to pick 3 of their basic proteins. It was pretty good, the only downside is that the broth didn't come out piping hot lol. Also, We actually had ordered a desert but it came before our main course which left us confused. Basically, our bowl of pho took almost 30 mins to come out which is weird because wouldn't this be the quickest to make? Anyways, the food was mid and the price is a bit steep. I would suggest trying their pho because everything else is eh. I could skip lol Also, if you pay cash, you get a 5% discount. The girl told us as she took our cash but we never got the discount. Lol disappointing.

Yelp
Walked in on a Tuesday night and there were about 3 tables occupied. I was seated and ended up having to leave because no one came over to me. There were several waiters so I'm not sure why it'd ever take so long to acknowledge me or even bring me some water. I wont be back... cute decor though.

Yelp
This restaurant offers certain Vietnamese dishes that aren't so common in typical Viet restaurants, such as banh khot, bo ne, & ca phe trung...but I can't say all dishes were executed correctly/authentically. Another con is the price - it is on the expensive side. However, it should be expected - I already knew Lua wasn't a regular mom-and-pop establishment. It's supposed to be an upscale, modern, trendy Viet restaurant, which I believe they hit the mark - from the interior design to the use of bamboo woven plates/baskets. The service was slow as well. Overall, I'm not in a rush to return here, but I would come back to try their other items. Ca Phe Trung ($7): I love Vietnamese egg coffee and was really excited for this, but it was disappointing. The egg cream/foam didn't have the same consistency as an authentic ca phe trung would. Goi Cuon ($7): Decent. Banh Khot ($15): Decent. Bo La Lot ($15): Delicious. One of my favorites from the restaurant. Hu Tieu Kho ($18): Decent. Bo Ne + Bone Marrow ($22+$7): It didn't hit the mark for me. I'm not sure if it's because the sauce they made or the type of beef they used, but something tasted off/inauthentic. The bone marrow...delicious. Tau Hu Tran Chau ($7): Delicious. One of my favorites from the restaurant. If they start offering the regular tau hu nuoc duong (silken tofu in ginger syrup), it would be even better.

Yelp
This was on my must try place since it recently opened. However, it's one and done for me. The restaurant itself was new and decorated very modern. The food itself did not live up to the expectations. I ordered two dishes one was the rice plate special and the other was Vietnamese rice rolls stuff with meat. The banh cuon texture was made tapioca flour which was the wrong wrap. The traditional one is made from rice flour that is more white than this one, it was clear. The fish sauce lack flavor that is was like water and fish sauce droplets. No garlic or lime flavor use in this one. I felt the food is made by people that are not really Vietnamese. The rice dish was okay not something I say wow. The meat lack flavor or wasn't marinated long enough. Again fish sauce lack flavor too. The only thing I enjoyed was the pho broth on the side with the dish. The service was decent and I feel the dishes were very overpriced. Don't mind paying for food that is good but give me some mediocre food we have a problem. Overall, save your money and there other places that you can go to for good Vietnamese.

Yelp
A few reviewers have commented on rude service, but our server was extremely friendly and we had no complaints there. There was a slight wait for our food, but our server acknowledged it and apologized for the wait. As for the food, the crispy spring rolls came out piping hot and were clearly freshly fried! The beef pho was average; I have had more flavorful broth, but there was a generous amount of meat.

Yelp
Came here because a nearby restaurant had an hour and a half wait. Walked right in and was seated for a table of 7 for a holiday lunch! Menu was organized and easy to read. Big portions and for a great price! Pork chop and chicken with rice were delicious. The pho noodle bowls had a well flavored broth and good proportion of meat. Beautiful interior and large table seating!

Yelp
Hubby and I recently dined at Lua's and sadly the overall experience was a miss for us. The food was a hit and miss depending on what you ordered and who the cook is. The service was adequate but not great. The waiter's lack of attention after taking our orders was evident. I will explain further later. Hubby ordered one of their popular dishes, S4. Com Lua dish, grilled Lemongrass pork chop. The thin pork chops were overcooked and lacked any lemongrass taste. Their egg quiche, which was part of the entree, lacked any taste, as per hubby. I tasted the pork chop and a bit of the egg quiche and had to concur with his assessment. The soup was exceptionally greasy and too salty. On the flip side, my dish S1. Banh Trang Cuon Nong, was exceptionally well presented, delicious, and delicate. The Vietnamese Steamed Rice Paper Rolls had small amounts of ground pork, wood ear mushroom, and herbs inside the rolls. It was fresh and flavorful. The only caveat was the steamed rice paper rolls had a good amount of grease on them to keep them from sticking to the plate and each other. The service was okay. We were seated quickly, but our waiter had not refilled our water or asked us if we wanted dessert. My hubby was eyeing the Jiggie Tofu Pudding with Brown Sugar boba to cleanse his palate of the dried pork chop. After several attempts to flag him down, we decided to forgo dessert and just ask for the check. I understand that things can get busy in a restaurant, but it wasn't busy at the time we dined so I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of attentiveness from our waiter. Overall, I felt the dining experience was smoke and mirrors. Wowed by the ambiance and presentation but I need good food and service for the prices to be justified. Food 3/5 Service 3/5 Value 3/5 Ambiance 5/5 Location 5/5

Yelp
I was excited for a fresh new Vietnamese spot in the area, as the viet food around here has not been exceptional. Serving uncommon dishes like Banh Khot and Bo Ne, I thought there was a lot of potential. Unfortunately, Lua under delivered and is over priced for the quality served. Their menu originally looked promising, with many authentic dishes you don't see at other Vietnamese restaurants, like the quail or the crab soup. At the same time, you can tell that Lua casually drops trendy high-quality food terms like wagyu, bone marrow, and filet mignon throughout their menu, at an attempt to make their food seem more upscale than it really is, and to justify their high costs. Their Signature Pho Lua, which they claim contains filet mignon, goes for $18 and is an average bowl of pho-- nothing spectacular, and no better than their nearby Viet competitors' $12-13 bowls of pho. I was excited to try their Bo Ne, a dish my viet family has never made at home, and one I never see on menus. Google images of Bo Ne had me salivating-- skillets of sizzling steak, blistered tomatoes, rich pate, sometimes some thick slices of cha lua. Imagine my disappointment when I got tough overcooked "filet mignon," two mushy tomatoes, an overly salty sauce, and zero pate (even though their menu listed it) for $22. Vietnamese food can be both budget-friendly and delicious. And despite their desperate attempt at seeming posh with the inclusion of filet mignon and wagyu, Lua is neither. I honestly wanted to like it, I always want to support local Asian (especially Vietnamese) businesses, but you are better off going to any of their nearby competitors.

Yelp
Modern atmosphere with some good food in the H Mart Plaza next to Kura Revolving Sushi. The service here was just ok and we were brought the wrong dish. The waiter was confused and annoyed but we asked again and he eventually took away the dish we did not order and brought us the correct dish. The food was pretty good but we felt the spicy beef and pork noodle soup wasn't too flavorful and the mini savory pancakes were very greasy but tasty! The chicken banh mi was excellent though and I don't normally like pate.

Yelp
A lot of money was spent on the ambience of Lua- this is the fanciest Vietnamese restaurant I've ever seen. It's a spacious restaurant with plenty of seating and in a prime location of Edison. The service was slow and awkward-which is what you would typically expect with a newly opened establishment. We had a party of 6 adults with children. Everyone in the party must be present before you can be seated. It took more than 10 minutes for the water to be brought out. The original waiter was the one who realized and apologized after taking our orders that the water was still not brought out. Speed/efficiency needs to be worked on. They took a while to even take our orders. Typically with a large group like this, we offer to write all our orders down for them on a piece of paper but this was the first time the guy declined and told us someone will be with us soon. They are an ipad centered operation- any modifications, it will take a few minutes for them to even figure out how to key this into their system. Overall esthetics of the food is pretty on the eyes but expensive. Looking forward to trying more of their bone marrow dishes. I wouldn't say this is authentic Vietnamese food but it's nice to have options dining within Hmart plaza. Bun bo hue $18- the portion here is pretty large. Loved their pork knuckles- juicy with plenty of meat. Fresh bean sprouts/basil. The broth was not spicy enough and therefore not the best but it was alright. Coconut ube coffee $8- sweet though certainly not as strong as traditional Vietnamese coffee. I think the funniest thing was the fried spring rolls- 1 order only has 2 pieces. They don't cut it in half for you either so it looks "more" like other typical Vietnamese restaurants. That's 2 small pieces for $6. Since we ordered 3 orders of spring rolls for the kids, they still brought out the rolls on 3 separate plates instead of combining them into 1 family style. Expect to spend over $50 with 2 noodle bowls, appetizers, and a drink. I don't think this place is family oriented/kid friendly but more appropriate for date night or for those days you want to treat yourself. Certainly not a place you could go frequently. Would like to give this place another try after they work the kinks out.

Yelp
Comfortable ambiance, quick and efficient service. Fair prices, $9 for a Bahn Mi is nice, and it was very good; saucy in a crisp baguette. Hit the spot. Vegetarian options, but not as many as you would generally find at a Vietnamese restaurant. Located in an Asian leaning development so a nice part of a series of errands.

Yelp
My aunt heard about this new restaurant and wanted to try it for her birthday. The staff: The waiter was rude and did not want to take our order. He kept telling us one minute for 15 minutes. He could have just said give me 15 minutes or something. He does not smile and does not have a welcoming attitude. He got our order wrong and I was not happy with the service here. The waiter also does not know his menu items and gave my friend the WRONG ITEM when he is MUSLIM! Thai Ice Tea: It tastes a little bland compared to other restaurants that are nearby. S12 Com Bo Luc Lac (Vietnames shaking beef with rice) - The beef was cooked all the way but it lacked a lot of flavor. Even the peppers did not have a lot of taste to it. The soup that came with it was very bland and was not too my liking. The rice was a little too hard as if they put too little water. This order came out before my aunt's pho noodles. P1 Pho Lua (Beef noodle soup) - I do not understand how these noodles came out last and my rice dish came out first. The taste to this was ok and nothing special but it could have been a little better. S2 Bun Cha Ha Noi (Hanoi style grilled PORK over rice vermicelli - The WAITER told my MUSLIM FRIEND that this was (S7 Hu Tieu/Banh Mi Bo Kho - Vietnamese braised beef stew) and he ate it without knowing as he trusted the WAITER. HE IS MUSLIM AND CANNOT EAT PORK! This water should be FIRED! The pork was dry and did not have any taste to it at all. S7 Hu Tieu/Banh Mi Bo Kho (Vietnamese braised beef stew) - The soup to this had a lot of flavors and was actually the best dish out of everything that we had ordered. The beef was chewy and tasted better than the beef in S12 Com Bo Luc Lac. This was what my friend had ordered since he is MUSLIM and cannot eat pork. Overall: Please train the staff members with respect, customer service, knowledge of products. They should be welcoming and smile and treat the customers with the best customer service. If I had paid, then I would have given him $0 in tips for the horrible customer service. I DEFINITELY WILL NOT COME BACK. Our order was not the only one that had issues, as other customers had issues as well.

Yelp
I remember a time when all the Vietnamese restaurants were hole in the walls. These days, they're modernized, sleek with a hip vibe. One prime example is Lua Vietnamese Cuisine, the latest new place in the Hmart shopping center. The decor is trendy and music is lively. While there are some traditional classics, there are some new dishes I've never seen before. The summer rolls are good. It includes 3 shrimp halves with noodles, lettuce and scallion. I ordered the grilled pork chop dish (S4). It comes with 2 pieces of bone in pork chops that are deliciously charred. The flavor is really good. It comes with rice, a runny fried egg, a small side of lettuce, tomato and cucumber, a small bowl of soup and an egg quiche. The Pho is good too. There is a lot of meat that comes with the pho. Hubby said the soup base is good but the meat quality could be improved.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food here. The Vietnamese steak and egg came with bread. The steak was cooked perfectly and juicy and soft. Eggs were nicely cooked with soft inside. The sauce was mildly sweet along with the saltiness. After you finish eating, the leftover sauce goes perfectly with the bread. We were nicely surprised at the portion size for the kids pork chop with rice since we thought it was going to be a nice plate of food. But glad that it was a nice portion size for the kids. Pork chop was soft and flavorful along with the soup. Dried noodle tasted good as well and came with soup. The table/chairs/and ground could be cleaner though since we were led to a table but there were still some food pieces on the chairs. And the ground was dirty and sticky that the bottom of my shoes got all sticky and kept squeaking due to sticking to the ground every time I walked. Would have liked the waiters to pay more attention when we try to get their attention.

Yelp
Incredibly delicious dinner! My husband and I plan on visiting Vietnam later this year and wanted to give Vietnamese food a try. We looked up restaurants in the area and Lau came up. We came for dinner and had a fantastic meal. Our kind and patient waiter helped us pick a variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes to try. Every dish was so flavorful, fresh and comforting. The atmosphere was very fitting for a cute date night. We will definitely be coming back to try a few more items as well as the coconut and egg coffee.

Yelp
Perfect place for a date night! The restaurant is nicely decorated with friendly staff. Conveniently located in a new strip mall next to hmart. Parking can be an issue on the weekends so it might be easier to go on a weekday. As for the food, we ordered spring rolls, pho (to eat there), and 2 rice dishes to take home and try later. We also ordered 2 specialty coffee drinks which we've never seen anywhere before so we just had to try it. We ordered the ube coconut coffee and the egg style coffee. Make sure to stir the coffee before drinking, otherwise the sweetness level be will be all off. Both coffees were very good but a bit too sweet for my liking. I had to add a bit of water to the ube one and then it was perfect. The pho was excellent. Broth was full of flavor and little to no grease. I'm glad they took their time to get rid of the grease. A lot of places don't and you see a huge layer floating at the top. It came with plenty of meat and tripe. The rice dishes were just ok. The pork chop was full of lemongrass flavor but the egg omelet was very different to what I'm used to. It wasn't as tasty as other places and just had a very bland flavor. Overall, great option if you don't want to eat at three other restaurants around. But just note the pricing is slightly more expensive than other vietnamese places around. Definitely worth trying at leat once though.

Yelp
We got seated right away around 12 on a saturday. The restaurant has Cute decor and menu has a lot of options. We tried s3 and s5 both were very flavorful and good. Service was pretty good as well. Definitely would come back and try some more stuff on the menu.

Yelp
Ambiance: excellent. Clean and bright decor. Not packed together, nice spacing. Pork chop was my favorite. Excellent flavor, comes with a bowl of broth. Steak was also delicious, but the bone marrow wasn't really worth it. Not much marrow. Bun (vermicelli) was pretty good.
