Great views from the rooftop but pricey, even during happy hour, with slow service. Lucha Rosa, the Latin-themed bar atop the Moxy, offers an explosion of pink and some decent drinks. However, the happy hour still felt expensive and didn’t quite live up to its name. At this point, it seems you’re mostly paying for the view. The service started off well but became painfully slow and a bit impersonal as the evening went on. While the atmosphere is great, the premium for the view just isn’t worth it.

Loved this place. The music was perfect, and our drinks were good. I don’t drink and my bartender made my juice cute and I just appreciate when places don’t punish me for not drinking by putting drink in an ugly glass, lol. This is the place to go! My friend and I ended up at Lucha Rosa at the Moxy Hotel on a random Tuesday night. Lucky us, it was the first night of their new Tiki cocktail launch. The place was unexpectedly PACKED for August (large parties everywhere). The drinks were absolutely delicious but it did seem like they were understaffed. Nonetheless, I want to shout out the manager, Casey and bartender Edwin who took great care of us despite the mass amount of people there. We never had to ask for anything and the newly debuted drinks were delicious! Great vibes, good food (although menu is limited), declicious drinks and excellent service! We will be back again soon.

I’m a frequent customer of Lucha Rosa & Parlour Victoria. I love them both because the customer service, atmosphere, and food is consistently amazing. Today, I brought 3 friends to Lucha Rosa and we experienced top tier customer service from Terrance. Terrance is an exceptional bartender and provided my friends and I with an incredible dining experience. He was patient with me as I tried to find my favorite drink from the previous menu (he made a revised version that was MUCH better than the Monarch) & he also accommodated my food request. This location may possibly be involved with trafficking. My daughter made reservations thinking this was a local rooftop restaurant. I let her and her 2 15year old friends go in while I parked. By the time I got in the teens were welcomed in and seated and when I arrived with my son they said you had to be 21+. I asked how 3 15 year olds were seated inside? The guy that let them in kept arguing that they were told to leave but no one could explain how they got in. I’m in the process of reporting this to respective authorities. If you’re a young lady visiting the area please stay safe and avoid this location.

Enjoyed a great evening at Lucha Rosa on the rooftop of the Moxy Hotel last week. The view of D.C. was impressive--there's something special about being on a rooftop in the city during a summer evening. The drinks were creative and well-made, definitely a step up from the usual offerings. We only had some light bites this time, but they were tasty and complemented the drinks nicely. The service was prompt and professional, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a solid choice for a night out, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.

I've come here a few times, and I really like the vibes of the rooftop! Some nights they have a live dj and they set the ambiance to be really nice. They have great drinks and great service! Their guacamole is really yummy, too. Overall, I give this place a solid 8/10. The food could be better.

I've known about this place since it opened and finally made my way. The first thing I noticed was that you have to be let up to the rooftop by a staff member. I love that since safety is key for those with an overnight stay. I arrived to the rooftop and felt like I was transported to Tulum-but pink. The aesthetics are totally cute. I had the watermelon agua fresca and it was yummy. Not too sweet. As I looked at the food menu, options were quite limited so I settled on the red pepper dip and that was ok. I personally thought it was an interesting choice for a Mexican Themed menu with limited options. I would come back to order drinks but that's about it. The place is cute but I would not recommend Lucha Rosa for dining

Stopped by for some drinks and appetizers. The initial encounter didn't go well once we made it pass the downstairs hostess who was very pleasant. After a short ride up the elevator we stood at the entrance for a few minutes waiting to be seated. I finally asked another patron if it was self seating. He pointed to the hostess who was sitting at the bar talking and looking at her laptop. After getting her attention she seemed a little annoyed but sat us at a table. The decor made the place feel nice however it was extremely hot in there. Despite the aforementioned negatives, our waitress, drinks and food were amazing.

What a fun little spot! Decorated super cute, friendly service and good outdoor space as well as inside seating. We sat outside and it was HOT but felt really nice with a breeze. They do have umbrellas but for some reason ours as not doing its job based on the way it was set up? Kind of expensive we just got 2 drinks and some guacamole to share (absolutely delicious) and it was $65. Drinks were tasty and very cute. Would go back for sure!

A nice day calls for a nice rooftop bar and my partner in crime always has a spot to frequent! Drinks were amazing! No happy hour menu but the view is stunning! The bartender was cool! They do have a check in award so we munched on free guacamole! I'm Latina so I was in Heaven! My Beau did not think it was great, to be fair it was good just not anything to write home about, especially my mama. She might agree with him. Overall good service, good view, pretty patrons, and good pours; it's definitely a place to be!

I recently attended a birthday celebration at this establishment on a Saturday, and the experience was quite enjoyable. However, keep in mind that the venue was rented out for a private engagement, so my perspective might differ from the regular experience. While I can't comment on the food, I thoroughly enjoyed the Dirty Martini I ordered - it was delicious and reasonably priced. On the downside, the service could have been better. With only three bartenders for the entire room, they seemed a bit slow in their movements. The rooftop vibes were impeccable, and I'm eager to revisit this place once the weather breaks. I was super excited to see the Moxy hotel on close proximity to my hotel and knew I'd be trying out the vibe since they are building one in my hometown! The entire ambiance of the hotel was pretty cool but Lucha Rosa was really cute!!!! The bar was a total vibe the decor was giving chic, luxurious, grown and sexy! I got the Paloma drink and settled on nicely on an isolated seat. This is a spot that you definitely need to get to early if you're trying to get a table. All in all I'd definitely recommend!

She provided good recommendations and was accommodating with any requests we had. I got the the golden eagle to drink. It was very good! I love mezcal and the drink was refreshing with nice flavor. For dinner, I got the pork belly tacos. The pork belly was very flavorful and juicy! My only critique is unfortunately they were quite small. Also wish chips and salsa weren't so expensive. $13 for chips and salsa seemed steep so we passed on them. Overall, we had a nice visit and would definitely return. The view and drinks alone are worth another visit!

Located on the rooftop of the Moxy Hotel, Lucha Rosa is a cute spot for some pre-dinner vibes and stunning DC tabletop views. I first heard about this spot through a Yelp Elite event that was thrown here earlier in the month so I was eager to visit to celebrate a friend's birthday. Service is friendly and cocktails are fun and inventive. Everyone at our table loved the Bed of Roses cocktail which came with a little spritz of rose water right when they served it to you. Margaritas were excellent and they had so many different flavors. We ordered a few appetizers for our table and were surprised by how good the guac (super chunky and fresh) and chorizo queso was. Music was millennial tinged right up till around 8 pm where I realized it was time for me to go home and take an advil. A fun vibe with lots of friendly patrons. I'd definitely return!

Oh this place is super cute! It's on top of the Moxy Hotel. Can't wait to come back and sit outside when it's warmer. The outdoor area has a view of the Washington Monument and there were heaters so I'm sure some folks do sit out there during the colder months. We sat inside at one of the tables. There is also a nice bar area with seating. Lili assisted us and she was awesome! She was so attentive and friendly. I have to mention this place was a bit pricey for what they were offering. I was a bit shocked that chips and salsa was $13. I was boring and ordered a margarita with salt on the rim. It was decent. I also had a chicken burrito and was expecting it to come out with some chips (maybe I'm really craving chips lol) or some salsa but the plate just had a burrito cut in half. The burrito was a good size and was filling. Lili offered to bring some different sauces out that helped to bring more razzle to the burrito. Other friends at the table ordered tacos and they said they were good but only came with two in the order so they were still a bit hungry. Overall, I would come back for the views and good service.

Lili was our server and she did a great job. Very upbeat, friendly, helpful and did whatever she could to make our experience enjoyable. We appreciate you girl. I ordered a strawberry margarita and a chicken burrito. Both were very good. I did ask for extra lettuce, pico de gallo and salsa to help compliment the burrito. The burrito is a good portion size so you will have leftovers unless you're very hungry. The prices at a bit high but considering the area, it's expected. I can't wait to return!

Tried to go up to the bar using the elevators. The security guard ignored me and close the door on purpose. Went into the other open elevator and saw that you need to be a guest or request access from the bartender to go up. Kind of a hassle. So I left.

Located at the top of the Moxy. The view is stunning, and the decor is super cute. But the food and drinks were doing too much. The queso was chunky and thick it didn't taste well made - more curdle-ish than anything. The drink menu was over involved. I understand a crafted beverage however these flavors did not sit well on our palettes. As for presentation - that was a 10000 out of 10. But I do not order cocktails to just stare at them. We ended up with just glasses of champagne and headed out. Again, cute concept for a photo or two. I would recommend maybe a glass of wine or something simple to enjoy the ambiance and sunset and keep it moving. Xoxo.

Then the restaurant marked me as a no show in the open table app. I showed up. They refused us service.

Wow, what can I say except super rude dismissive service! We stopped up for food and drinks on a lovely Saturday night. After about 10 min the server asked what we would like? My wife ordered our drinks and I showed him a free guac and chips with yelp check in. He looked surprised says nothing and walks away? I thought maybe he was going to check with a manager. Nope he comes back and says he doesn't know anything about it and walks away again! Would we like something else? Didn't ask us didn't care he pegs us for being cheap? This place is obviously set up for kids. I was wanting a nice evening drinking and eating. Not going to happen here. Super rude dismissive wait staff!! Come for over priced tiny cocktails and good luck getting decent service unless you are under 30.

Service needs help. Not enough services Unusual way of getting on the roof. You have to have someone let you up the elevator after you wait in line for a bit. Restaurant is in is called the Moxee. It's kind of cool because the front desk is actually a bar. If I ever had people that were visiting from out of town and had money I'd suggest them stay at the Moxee. It's looks like a very cool boutique style hotel Now back to the restaurant it is definitely a younger vibe between 20s and 30s. The food was OK but I don't remember it so it could've been that great. It had a great selection for Vegan's vegetarian. and regular eaters. I felt a little rushed because there was still a line downstairs.

One of my favorite rooftop restaurants! It's got such a great atmosphere for entertaining people and the food is so good. My friends and I unfortunately did not enjoy our experience here. I understand it was pretty busy but our waitress disappeared for a very long time and we struggled to find her to place our orders and get the check later on. Drinks were average, but the chips and guacamole was great. It gets really stuffy if your table is not over by the balcony area. We got sat at a table in the back and there was no breeze and it got pretty hot with no fans or anything. Probably would not return here.

I had a really good time here for a friend's birthday celebration. It's a convenient location where I can usually find parking, so that's number one! And who doesn't love a good rooftop in DC summers? It was a midweek visit, so luckily it wasn't overly crowded. We had to wait in line at the elevator, which was a little strange because it was literally just us, but hey, control the crowd or whatever. It only took a few minutes to get up. We loved the decor! Really fun and vibrant and airy. We snagged a table outside and hung out for about 15 minutes before a huge storm came out of nowhere lol. The staff was really cool about folks running inside to claim tables and figure it out. Everyone really enjoyed the drinks they tried and even though we didn't eat dinner, the snacks and appetizers we had were all pretty good. The staff was really friendly too. Overall, a good time and vibe.

While other places are charging $22 and above. They have a large selection of liquor. Nice rooftop views. I sat at the bar and service was great! Music was grade A with the DJ playing. Summer date nights on a Wednesday in the city are a vibe. Downtown DC has a few cool spots all within walking distance to enjoy. Take a walk over to the rooftop bar at the Moxy hotel. @lucharosadc is a vibe on Wednesdays. The playlist is a mixture of neosoul and chill rap, which has you singing with guests at the bar and dancing in your seats. There is a nice variety of mezcals to try that are reasonably priced for the mezcal drinkers. I enjoyed the Golden Eagle, a nice refreshing summer drink with a little bit of heat.

Pros: - The decor and ambiance is beautiful, great views - Menu is short and concise Cons: - Once you get to the rooftop there's seem to be no real structure to getting seating/where you're going - After finally grabbing a table, the bench was broken in half... (pieces on the floor and no sign letting people know) - it's hard to tell who's a server/who works there.. needless to say we didn't order any food because it was so hard to flag someone down/looked like they would never get to us - The roof top is said to be inspired/a nod by Mexican wresting culture but aside from the menu you don't get much of the culture.. music for example, random oldies music was playing so loud you could barely hear the person next to you. Overall could have passed on this experience, the Tiktoks really made this place look great but it needs some work from management.

Spontaneously went here on a Sunday afternoon since it had just opened on Friday. We had to wait in line to get upstairs. I'm not sure if the line was actually long or we were just chatting to make the time go by quicker. We finally got upstairs and decided to grab a table real quick. We weren't sure if others were joining us, but got a bigger table just in case. I originally thought you have to go up to the bar to get your drink, but the servers actually come to you. Our server came to us and got our drink order and 2 glasses of water. We were casually waiting for our drinks, enjoying the weather and ambiance, until we noticed the people behind us in line downstairs, were already seated next to us with their drinks. They also had ordered food and received that as well and we didn't even get our drinks yet! The rest of our party joined us, and made their orders. And to no surprise, their drinks and food order arrived before our drinks! It had been about 1.5 hours at this point. Seriously how long does it take to make 2 drinks? We probably asked 2 servers where our drinks were. Finally they arrived! The server felt really bad and decided to comp our entire bill. If they hadn't comped the bill, I definitely would've lowered my rating. But they realized their mistake. The server was really nice and kind and I don't blame her at all. It was their first Sunday. Otherwise this a rooftop is one not to miss! The decorations are so aesthetically pleasing and the drinks are strong and cute!

Came here for opening night, it's a super cute rooftop bar at the Moxy hotel. The vibes are simple but elegant and the view is decent for the washington monument and sunset. There are a lot of cute tables and couches to lounge around and chat with friends at. They were playing a mix of latin and electronic music which we enjoyed. The flowers and lanterns were a nice touch to the ambiance. We ordered the bed of roses cocktail, which was fruity with a spritz of rose water and then a boozy drink that was like an old fashioned. They really paid attention to presentation and most of the drinks had a cute little gimmick to them. They also served a selection of seedlip mocktails and athletic brewing non alcoholic beer which is great if you want to be social without imbibing which was perfect for my friends observing ramadan. The food menu had latin options like tortas, tacos and guacamole. The food was a little pricy for the portion size so we didn't opt for it, would probably recommend this as a drinks place as opposed to dinner based on what was available when we went. The service was good, definitely still figuring things out on opening night. I'm sure when I return it'll be a 5 star experience.

The ambience of the bar was one of the best I've seen for a rooftop bar. They had great music as well. It's a DC Rooftop with a view of the Monument - it's a hard place to beat! Their food is ok and a bit on the pricey side especially for HH. But their drinks are strong and great! This is the perfect sunset HH spot if you're not hungry The sunset view is espectacular; the bartender who is from Spain is Amazing and the comfy lounge areas are great for relaxing after a long day. However; if you're allergic to bees keep away from the wall and outdoor area. Stay indoors or at the bar. I often see bees hanging by the exterior walls.

This place was AWESOME! Definitely a must for rooftop bar lovers (like me!!)!!! The views alone are incredible, but they've also done an amazing job with the decor! It's so bright and happy!! It gives bougie Oaxaca vibes! You'll find lucha libre art and bright colorful floral pillows and the flower ceiling... definitely a lot of photo ops! Food was unique...not a ton of options, but I liked the shrimp ceviche (although I would have preferred it more plain haha). Service was ok, but overall great experience!

THE. WORST. Not even sure where to start. For one the waitress took too long to greet us. She never gave us water. I think she was new based on her lack of skills bcuz she was trash. Her communication was horrible. Drinks took at least 30 minutes. It was hot, the food was mediocre. All in all, terrible experience and won't be coming back. Go across the street to Wild Days where it's much better, more spacious and a better vibe. I been a server in DC so I know what it's like and she did so bad smh lol.

I went here when it first opened and the view and decor were great, Came back with out of town friends to be terribly disappointed by horrendous service. Needs new management.

The location of this rooftop is great and very beautifully decorated. On a weekend, it is the place to be with a great dj and lively dancing . The only complaint I have is that the service team does not communicate very well. We waited a while for the drinks but it was much faster to get the drinks at the bar as opposed to the table. Once the server actually came around she was wonderful . I'm not sure if they have sections or what it was but the communication was not well with the service team. Granted it was a Saturday night and it was extremely busy. Despite most tables being reserved , people sit anywhere so it can get confusing who is just straying from the bar, taking a break from dancing , or genuinely needing service?¿ the service team is really nice and accommodating it just seems like the host may not communicate to the server that someone was seated in their section . We have been there on a Friday night and both times the place is busy, the music is good, and the people down from the elevator to the bartenders are accommodating, sweet, and bring some vibrancy to this rooftop
