The Hottest New Restaurants in Las Vegas, August 2024

"This new American-style tavern inside the Rio Las Vegas features dishes like lollipop-style buffalo wings, lobster pot pie, and a 32-ounce tomahawk steak. And for dessert, a roving cart sidles up tableside for ice cream sundaes. You’ll also find draft beers, fine wines, and cocktails inside this wood-paneled restaurant with homages to classic rock music spanning the walls." - Janna Karel

Had a great experience at Luckley Tavern & Grill inside the Rio! The soup was warm and flavorful, the pasta was rich and satisfying, and the sandwich was fresh and hearty. The vibe was relaxed, cocktails were excellent, and the service was friendly.best part is they have every day, even holidays and weekends ,happy hour from 3-5 with great selection. It is a perfect spot to escape the casino noise and enjoy a great meal.

Google
I had the Prime Rib 3 course meal, medium rare. It was fantastic. My server was Chevy, he was very attentive and all the staff was friendly and responsive l.

Google
The prime rib and salmon were both superb. We were grateful to actually have the opportunity to thank the chef. He definitely deserved the praise. The service staff were all amazing. We were seated quickly and they made a special day all that more memorable. Plan on having a dessert while there. We sampled several and were in heaven!

I’ve visited Luckley at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas several times, and each visit has been exceptional. My husband has been there four times, and I’ve visited three times with our daughters, and each experience has exceeded our expectations. The service is top-notch. The staff has always been incredibly friendly and attentive, making every meal special. The food is delicious, and the chocolate dessert is simply outstanding. The quality of the food and the excellent service make Luckley a standout. I commend the restaurant for its impeccable work. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in Las Vegas.

First time here and you must start by having Chevy as your waiter! What a nice and attentive person. He made my birthday even so special with his recommendations and attention to detail. He and the prix fixe prime dinner meal were superb! We can’t believe we haven’t discovered the restaurant sooner. We combined this meal with a Penn & Teller show, a perfect combo. The kind of intimate service Chevy provided is what topped off our special evening. Thank you Chevy! We love you.

Luckley Tavern and Grill is an American restaurant located inside the Rio Hotel/Casino. I would describe it as upscale food in a casual environment. There are music posters, etc. on the walls from all different genres of music. Very interesting to look at while waiting for the food to arrive. We wore jeans but there were others who were more dressed up. Service was impeccable and staff was so nice and friendly. The menu has a variety of different options and the food is delicious and presented beautifully. Matthew was our waiter and he was so nice and extremely knowledgeable about the restaurant and the Rio property in general. He said the shrimp is flown in fresh every two days. The shrimp cocktail was the best we've had, including the cocktail sauce. My husband got the filet and lobster tail and I got the salmon. They were cooked woodfired with a mesquite smoke, which really added a nice flavor. We never get dessert, but when we saw the chocolate lava cake with coconut ice cream, we just had to try it. So amazing! We'll definitely come back to Luckley's!

Google
We wanted a bite before the Penn & Teller show and ended up at Luckley Tavern and what a surprisingly delightful meal it was! Ambience is retro chic with great classic rock music playing. Food exceeded our expectations. We had a delicious Kale salad and the chicken wings. Cocktails were the best we had during our whole stay in Vegas. Other than the cloud of cigarette smoke you have to walk through to get to the restaurant, we would recommend and return.

Google
Here for a date night. The place is huge inside. Great ambiance. Great server (shoutout to Chevy - you're hilarious). Music is good, but on the loud side if you're sensitive to it. (We personally liked it) 5/5 Caesar salad, tomahawk, lobster pot pie, tiramisu, cocktails... 3/5 banana pudding, onions & mushroom side

Yelp
Came for happy hour and was not disappointed Sat at the bar and had Great service! Our bartender/server was friendly, chatty attentive and the creator of the signature cocktail we ordered. Ordered the half dozen oysters and blood orange gin signature cocktail. All were a great light afternoon meal and cocktail. Great flavor and fresh ingredients. Very nice bar and additional seating. Tv at bar to watch sports. Very clean and upscale looking. Very chill and casual vibe

Yelp
Luckley did everything well. I was staying in the RIO and visited twice and both the food and drinks were executed excellently. Both are a little overpriced imo but its a las vegas casino restaurant so par for the course I guess. The first day I had the waygu burger. Its not huge but a nice size for lunch. And comes with some fries. I would have liked some lettuce or tomatoes but thats just my preference. On my second visit. I ordered the half chicken. I initially thought it was way overpriced as chicken is rarely one of the most expensive things on the menu but the portion really is quite large and they cooked it to perfection! I appreciated the side of greens although they had too much salt. Overall its convenience and its high execution make Luckley an excellent choice if you're considering visiting.

Yelp
Kale salad was really something - you must try! Keeps you guessing why it's so good. Miso cod had great texture too. Service also was superb. I will definitely go back

Yelp
Strolled in here after some diligent gambling. Definitely better than bar food. We had the artichoke dip to begin. Really tasty with big chunks of artichoke and melty cheese. We shared a couple small plates. Mac and cheese appetizer and the Wagyu beef sliders. The Mac was so-so. A deep fried stick of m&c that could've been at any sports bar. The wagyu sliders were the star though. They came out medium and with a really nice grill crunch exterior. I'm guessing 75g or so for the precooked patties. The bar staff was well trained and with a decently stocked bar. Solid playlist spinning in the background and tons of 80's albums on the walls. Worth a revisit.

Yelp
We were in Vegas celebrating a friends birthday and we made a reservation at Luckley before the Janet Jackson concert. We were sat quickly after checking in and got some drinks, a vodka soda with two limes for me. The rest of the table had beers. My husband and I ordered the prime rib dinner, $48 for a three course meal. The Caesar salads arrived and the portion was large with some pretty tasty croutons. The salad itself was well dressed and I ate the entire thing. The prime rib was cooked medium, as I had ordered with the smoothest of smooth mashed potatoes. The gravy was flavorful and horseradish a great complement to the meat. The prime rib was tender and flavorful but the star of the show was the banana pudding dessert. It was the favorite of the table, so delicious! The other dishes were the roasted chicken, meatballs and kale salad. The broccolini was the most flavorful of the roasted chicken entree, chicken and potatoes ok not earth shattering! The kale salad and meatballs were also a good combo!

Yelp
The original restaurant that used to occupy this space was one of our favorite places to eat at the Rio. The best prime rib, fish & chips, and chili with cornbread, but it's gone. So we saw they had a happy hour so we decided to check it out during our stay. The space is still nice and big. And with it being open to the casino surprisingly you don't smell smoke while dining. The new concept is nice with the music playing and album art all over the walls. The staff, hostess and our waitress, were wonderful. They have an absolutely beautiful bar when you walk in. The happy hour prices are really great. The drinks and food were sooooo delicious. There isn't anything i would change about our dining experience. We will be back.

Yelp
I came here for dinner at the bar. The hostess was very friendly. Overall the service was pretty quick, but I did have to remind the server about a drink I had ordered. I had the shrimp tacos and artichoke dip and both were good.

Alyssa R.

Yelp
Love this place! Shrimp tacos and artichoke dip were delicious. As was the waygu burger! Guava cocktail and margarita also amazing!
google avatar

Henry Y.

Yelp
We hit happy hour twice during our stay after enjoying the first. The oysters were plump and well presented and the habanero mignonette sauce was delicious. We tried most of the menu items: warm artichoke dip, loaded fries, meatball parm and French dip. The loaded fries were a unique combination that worked! The artichoke dip was also really satisfying. The two sandwiches were nothing noteworthy but were solid. I tried their Barbary Fig signature cocktail per the server's reco (vodka, lemon, prickly pear and coconut) and loved it. Their service and staff service is really impeccable and gracious. Even during a busy happy hour we felt well taken care of. The decor of the place is awesome if you're a music fan like I am. Lots of cool records and framed concert posters and flyers adorn the walls including a healthy dose of punk and proto punk. I had to walk around afterwards to check out all the walls. Overall highly enjoyable!

Yelp
Cool tavern and grill that is new to the Rio. Music records all around, loud music and tons of adult beverages. A good spot if you don't want to leave the hotel. Reasonably priced food and excellent service. I'll be back soon.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
Arrived to Vegas starving and were grateful to find a tavern onsite in our hotel. We couldn't believe they offer happy hour all on weekends and we ordered from it - Waygu burgers and drinks. Chevian was our server and he was so personable and professional. Margarita was very good, didn't try the beer. Burgers arrived timely, so big with the pretzel buns we had to use utensils. Great burgers but both, unfortunately, were really salty. Enjoyed the music, booth seats, and cleanliness.

Yelp
A fantastic Steak , Caesar Salad and dessert . Went back both nights I stayed at the hotel
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Cool spot, especially when you get a bar seat. Incredible service. Highly recommend the tomahawk and the asparagus.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
Service was incredibly nice. Food was excellent. At first, I was disappointed that there were no sides with the main entrees but we did get a Caesar salad too and my entre filled me up! I had the scallops Benedict. I never get scallops because they're always overcooked but I took a chance and was very pleasantly surprised because they were perfect. The short rib was phenomenal. If I had one note it would be that the the short rib needs some toastinis with it instead of vadallia onions so you can scoop up that sauce. All in all, a great choice.

Yelp
Just recently opened in the Rio hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to find a well-run restaurant in the former All American Grill space. Service was top notch; our server suggest we tried to Miso Cod appetizer. At first I thought "cooked to perfection" was just words to expertly sell it, but it absolutely was a perfect start to our dinner. We had the pre fixe theatre menu. For $48, select a salad or soup, entree, and dessert. The portions were huge. The kale salad was very good and could be a meal on its own. My prime rib was 10 oz of medium-rare goodness. Wife had the salmon which there were no complaints. Deserts were unbelievably light and refreshing. Glad to see Rio transforming itself back to its former glory with good restaurants.

Yelp
This is the tavern and grill inside Rio that serves a variety of American dishes and cocktails. The service was good (even though the server kind of rolled her eyes at me when I asked for water with ice in it). ‍ About $100 tab, plus a $20 tip. Caesar salads were fresh, cold and delish. Meatballs appetizer were perfectly cooked and the red sauce was perfect, too. The rigatoni was gummy, drenched in red pepper flakes and an odd vodka sauce. Although we like spicy food, this dish was really inedible. Best thing was the chocolate lava cake dessert. The coconut ice cream was a dream!

Ivan G.

Yelp
Best SPICY RIGATONI , and SHRIP TACOS!!!! SHRIP tacos don't beat my dads but they're up there!!! Thank you Briana for your service

Yelp
I was there during the Halloween weekend. The host was amazing. Unfortunately I cannot remember her name. She was a short young looking blonde woman with a great beautiful smile and attitude. She was very attentive and was able to sit us at our table within ten minutes. Our server was phenomenal, very much attentive, Had a great positive attitude and was quick on his feet to respond to our needs and wants. Definitely recommend it! We'll eat there again once we come back to Vegas.
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
We arrived at 3 for happy hour. We got the loaded fries, wings and artichoke and chip dip. Food was ok but I wouldn't come back. Britney was our server and she never attended to us once or filled out waters. I'm not picky but there were only 2 other tables she had with only 2 guest at each table. We won't be back

J. M.

Yelp
I was here in July 2024 and couldn't wait to bring my husband here. It was very disappointing. We ordered the Spinach Artichoke dip.... Would rate 2.5/5. His French Dip sandwich was soggy....2.5/5. I had the Buffalo appetizer and sent it back.... I took one bite and did not like it. I had my husband try it to keep me honest and he agreed. Was overcharged for the replacement (loaded fries) I ordered. Very bummed as this was a place I was looking forward to from Indiana. We also had to wave down the waitress for refills, as it was pretty empty and she was talking with other staff. They were all VERY nice, which is what the stars are for.

Bill A.

Yelp
There is a certain amount of time that needs to be allotted for food to be served and I get that, 90 minutes after ordering is not it. Entire experience was less than optimal, completely because of the kitchens ineptitude. Appreciative of the comps offered, but not the way it should've been handled, the party of 20+ that completely screwed up everyone else in the place should've been either turned away or told to wait, absolutely wrecked the flow of every other party in the restaurant, (and at least one walked out in disgust) cannot recommend if you're in Vegas.

Yelp
A great valley for being in a casino. Very pleasant staff that are eager to serve with a smile.

Yelp
ONE OF THE BEST MEALS WE HAVE EVER HAD IN VEGAS!!! The food, service, and ambiance are all top notch and truly one of the best we have ever had and we eat at several top restaurants on the strip. We will be back for sure and we highly recommend Luckley. KATHRYN was our server on 9/16/24 and she was AMAZING!!! We are visiting from Hawaii and we frequent Vegas and are so glad we decided to try Luckley for the first time because it is SO GOOD...TRULY FANTASTIC! Mahalos to the Chef. Wish we took photos for everyone but sorry we didn't but here is what we had: Starters: Kale Salad, Tomato Soup w/ Grilled Cheese. Main Course: Rib Eye w/ Mash Potatoes, Salmon w/ Broccoli. Dessert: Tiramisu, Banana Pudding. We both tried each others food and can assure you every single thing was AMAZING!!!

Kurtis B.

Yelp
The roasted Chicken is very special indeed, The spinach and potatoes were flawlessly cooked to perfection!
google avatar

Joshua W.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Our server, Chevian, was on top of refills and always seemed to know exactly when he was needed at the table. And the ambiance was very relaxing and very cool seeing all the photos of different artists along the walls.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
I love the renovations and love the Rio has been getting for 2024. Luckley is just one of the many great new additions. Use to be one of my favorite hotels on the strip mainly because their eatery's were phenomenal. So excited to get to make new memories with the Rio again. The food was filling and decadent. The atmosphere was soothing and relaxing amidst the hustle and bustle of the casino activity. Go say hello to Manny if you visit. He makes you feel like part of the family

Yelp
My husband and I had the pleasure of dining here for our anniversary staycation at the Rio. We ordered the tuna pizza, fried Mac & cheese, the burrata salad, and the Tamohawk steak with all the fixings. To say it was excellent is an understatement! The portions were huge. My husband and I were able to share all the dishes. The only thing better than the food was the service. All the staff we encountered was warm & welcoming. Our server was Chevy, and he took great care of us We shared with him that we were celebrating our anniversary, and he came back with a signed card from the staff. Great job to all of you at Luckley Tavern & Grill! We appreciate all you do and will gladly return soon!

Yelp
I have to say - two times I've eaten here and every time there very nice and the food is perfect. I highly record this place to all

Yelp
We ate here during our stay at the Rio for a special weekend. Food was excellent as was the service. This is a great place for a special occasion.

Yelp
Zack was the best!!! He vegas very cheerful and knew every one there was very helpful and the food was delicious and the ambiance was epic service was excellent!!! I will bring my guests here to enjoy a taste of Vegas hospitality. Thanks for an epic night Zack and staff.

Brandi E.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was amazing. Perfect for grabbing food at before the on site comedy show in the casino. Every dish there looked amazing.

Angi K.

Yelp
We stopped in at the Luckley tavern and grill to order drinks. They were handing out coupons at the Rio casino earlier for buy one get one free cocktails. We ordered from the drink menu under "cocktails". When the bill arrived we presented the coupon. The bartender stated the coupon was only for beer and wine and one cocktail that was not on the menu. We asked him to read the coupon aloud. It didn't state anything about beer, wine or the cocktail that was not on the menu. Not only misleading but unethical. I'm attaching a picture of the coupon.

Miranda B.

Yelp
You have to get the wings! Wow! Margarita was delicious. Amazing staff, great vibes. Will definitely be back!

S Z.

Yelp
Tried this drink at Luckely Tavern at the Rio in Las Vegas. I asked what drink they would recommend with Rum and this was exactly what my taste buds needed they called it the Tonys Cable Car. Highly recommend. This place was great to check out, they have records all over the walls, the lighting is just right and if you're a music buff. I'd say check it out.

Mabel C.

Yelp
i dont usually make a review but my experience here is so fantastic. The food was great. We ordered tuna pizza- the crust was so cruncy and you can taste the tuna is from high quality and it blends well with the crust. The salmon sashimi with crispy garlic and micro cilantro was so delicious and fresh, clean taste. The smoked short rib was so tender and the sauce was so absorbed by the meat taht you can taste it in every bite- so juicy and delicious. It was a wonderful experience. Not only the food was great and alos the service is wxcellent. Chef Endhir is so friendly and vey accommodating. The place is clean and chic with old school music decor. I highly recommend the place. For sure i will come back and recommend it to with my friends. Big thank you to all the staff for making my experience amazing.

Betty B.

Yelp
Excellent! Food was delicious. We ordered the short rib and it was perfection. Ambience was very nice and inviting. Julian was a pleasure, he was very friendly, attentive and funny. He made my mom and my mom's friend feel very special. Highly recommend.

Morgan K.

Yelp
Delicious food, really unique menu. The service was excellent, Manny took care of our table. It was a great experience - the restaurant decor was very cool, too and easy access from valet. We had several appetizers to share and shared dinner plus dessert. Lollipop wings are outta this world, great Caesar salad, pasta carbonara, bone-in tomahawk were both delicious. Dessert topped the meal off- went with tiramisu and the chocolate cake with coconut ice cream. This was more like a lava cake and was so good! Can't wait to go back!

Evan C.

Yelp
Was an awesome experience due to the whole staff, especially Marty! He was top tier, best service I've ever had. Would go back just to see him, if you're here stop by and have a couple drinks and enjoy the ambience, they don't disappoint! Thank you Marty!
google avatar

Griffin S.

Yelp
Oh man, where do I begin...This restaurant is a HIDDEN GEM at the Rio. The apps, including the Pigs in a Blanket, Wings, Miso Cod, etc are all off the chart and very nostalgic, iykyk. The service was top notch from the hostess to the GM. I haven't been to the Rio in years but I would come back just to eat at this spot. Management is attentive and has a skill set you don't see as much around town anymore. I will absolutely be back and if any old Light Group people read this, you need to go!

Nancy S.

Yelp
Surprisingly very very good!!! Great bar - service was amazing - recommend the steak frites- melt in your mouth- wow!! Best part of RIO Hotel
google avatar

Heather Lynn A.

Yelp
Good was excellent! But it was smoky and loud from the casino. Everything was over priced as well
google avatar

Patrick J.

Yelp
Food was basic, mediocre, and overpriced, but the service was nice. Don't have a lot to say about this place. It was just "Meh" at best.
google avatar

Alexandra S.

Yelp
Lada definitely made our night! She is very sweet, kind, professional while also being personal. I highly recommend asking for Lada. I'm not a huge fan of the restaurant workers having to put the napkin on our laps and I can understand what they are trying to do but do believe it's not necessary.

T C.

Yelp
Went to Luckley this past weekend for drinks and appetizers. We had the tuna pizza, which lived up to the hype. And the miso cod cups were delicious as well. Great bar service...Bri, Jason and Marty were really welcoming and attentive the whole night. The manager, Manny, was also very friendly and accommodating as well. Oh, and great music! Definitely check this place out. We're locals...we'll be back!

Haisley K.

Yelp
My companion and I decided to visit this restaurant since we're staying at Rio. Although the dishes tasted good, it definitely isn't worth the steep price. Portion size felt tiny for the cost as well. If you're a music enthusiast, the ambiance is great, with the exception of it being rather dark in the dining space. The poor illumination makes it hard to read the menu and to see what you're consuming. Perhaps this also explains some of why the service is so sluggish and inattentive. We ran out of drinks three times and waited what felt like quite a long time for a refill each time. The beverage glasses were quite small as well, which just worsens the issue.

Steve M.

Yelp
Tomahawk Rib Eye was beyond good. The best steak I've had in a long time. The service was excellent as well.

Ashli F.

Yelp
Jesse!! Great food with impeccable service and a fun soundtrack to boot. We were "Luckley" (get it?) enough to sit at the bar with Jesse as our bartender/server and we were blown away by his thoughtful service and fun personality. Next time we are in Vegas we will be back!

Sandra M.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant while on vacation staying at the Rio Hotel while it's under major and new renovations it's a hidden gem. The ambiance is casual dinning or fancy dinning your choice they do walk ins and reservations. The service is fast and on point the food was great I had shrimp cocktail which the shrimps were large and shareable along with salmon that was cooked grilled to perfection it was moist and very filling along with broccolini. My husband had the lobster pot pie it was hearty and full of lobster along with carrots onions and potatoes . The vibe was definitely bobbing and rocking.
