"This is technically Lucky Bird’s second location - the original opened at Grand Central Market in 2018 - but the expansive new space gives the fried chicken specialist its first true brick-and-mortar. The bright, airy space has long tables perfect for large group hangouts - not to mention eight rotating beer taps if you’re looking to get a little buzz. As for the food, the chicken sammie platter is our go-to, which for $8.95, gets you a giant piece of crunchy, meaty chicken topped with pickles and creamy house sauce on a soft potato bun, plus perfectly-salted fries and a side of your choice. It’s one of the most affordable, quick lunch options in the neighborhood." - Brant Cox

"We like that this fried chicken stall in Grand Central Market has a row of barstools at the counter, so you can sit and eat your sandwich without having to fight a group of people in suits for a table elsewhere in the market. But easy seating isn’t the only reason to eat here - the fried chicken is also very solid. You can get three or five pieces, but we like the sandwich, which comes with pickles, smoked paprika aioli, and lettuce." - Jess Basser Sanders

Google
A little take out place in the EdgeWater Market by Sloans Lake. Settled in a big indoor food court yard area with other small take out places. Plenty of open seating and a bar too. This place is really good on portions, the sandwhich is pretty big and the chicken is really good. The Nashville Spice they use is great on it, but it's really not all that spicy. The wrap was really good too so I'd recommend stopping by here!

We ordered a buffalo wrap that was drenched in sauce. When we asked for an alternative or resolution we were told there was nothing that could be done since we’d eaten some already (not sure how we’d be able to tell about the sauce otherwise). The wraps were also just not wrapped very well in general, and fell apart while eating.

Google
Excellent Nashville Hot chicken! I ordered extra sauce because I prefer the burn and it was perfect! Would definitely come again, but the downsides are the place is so loud during the weekend that you can barely talk to anyone inside but that goes for all the restaurants inside. Lastly it it took over 25 minutes from the time I ordered to when I got my sandwich. That was a big inconvenience but the sandwich was good. If I come again I'd just order 20 minutes before planned to eat.

Google
Honestly I threw the food away before I could get pictures it was so bad. The chicken was so over cooked I couldn't chew it. When I asked about the chicken I was met with rudeness and indifference. Was also told that's how it's all cooked and would all be the same consistency. No refund offered. Told her to throw it away as it wasn't edible. Zero stars.

Google
The lucky tenders were a decent size but a bit more seasoning. Flavor a little underwhelming. Perhaps another seasoning choice would have been better maybe next time I'll try the Asian or spicy.

Located in a super friendly environment for everyone of all ages and any disabilities. The food is great portions and the flavors mesh together so wonderfully! I’m not a fan of mustard but their mustard slaw is top-tier! I had the Asian tenders and the backyard bird sandwich and they were both so amazing! The tenders were not too spicy at all and had a sweet zingy flavor!

Google
i got the buffalo chicken wrap. let’s say i’ve had better but i’ve had worse. chicken is huge inside the wrap with very good toppings but it was dry. i like a nice juicy fresh piece of chicken. mine had been sitting there. needs a little bit more flavoring. prices are fair for being inside a market. would definitely come back

I went to the Edgewater Marketplace for the first time last night. I tried the new menu item, dry rubbed wings, at Lucky Bird. They were so good. Just enough rub on the wings. Great flavor! Put them on the menu permanently!

Yelp
AMAZING CHICKEN! Quick and hot! Great flavor and incredible customer service! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The loaded fries are the bomb.com

Yelp
God it seems like everywhere there is a chicken shop popping up...and to be honest they all are pretty decent. Lucky Bird is located in the edgewater public market which is awesome. The service and food are great. My Spicy bird was a massive sandwich with great fry to it and that Gochujang butter is like crack. Good crispy waffle fries to. Service was quick and friendly. I would come back

Andrea S.

Yelp
Not my fav, especially for the price. My husband and I shared Spicy Asian Tenders and loaded sweet potato fries. The fries were the star of the show because unfortunately our tenders were dry. I didn't mind the Asian sauce however the hubs wasn't a fan. If I could give 3.5 stars I would because the fries were pretty solid!

Yelp
I'll start with the fact that I'm not a great listener. I came here with family who had been here a few times and they warned me that the Asian Wrap wasn't a good choice, but I am a sucker for Asian-style anything and really wanted to believe it would be absolutely delicious, so I took my chances. The Asian Wrap was bigger than I expected (which is great because who doesn't like a good portion size) and filled with crispy chicken, tomato, and a slaw type mixture. My issue with the wrap was that it was drenched in two sauces, and half of it dripped into a big messy puddle on the plate whenever I picked it up. The sauces, while tasty, seemed to clash. One side was covered in a mustard sauce and the other was in a sweeter soy-type sauce. I felt like I was eating two completely different wraps at the same time! I didn't hate it, but I also regret not listening to the locals' opinions when ordering! I also ended up swallowing part of a small bone that somehow snuck itself into the crispy chicken, and as a result decided to tear apart the wrap to make sure I wasn't eating the other small bones that also had snuck into my wrap. Needless to say, it was a very messy and not-so-pleasant dining experience. The sweet potato fries were standard and tasty, but the honey mustard went perfectly with them!

Yelp
I have the Buffalo wrap with crispy chicken. Would say the Buffalo to blue cheese ratio was way off. Needed more blue cheese. Also there were so many carrots it took over the flavor. Chicken would be better cut up rather than just placed in there in tender form. Was a large size which was the only plus.

Yelp
I love this place, until today - and I'm not sure I'll be back. I went there with my family and my husband ordered spicy chicken and my son and I ordered regular. My son and my food was so spicy. We both got very sick. I went up and did something to the girl and she's like oh well it probably got cross-contamination with your husband's food when we made it. OK we offered to remake it. Nope that's all she said that's it. Oh well too bad. Terrible customer service. We literally threw the food away.

Yelp
Amazing flavor amazing recommendations highly recommend! Huge fan of the Nashville hot (it's hot) and the Asian had a great flavor profile (very teriyaki forward).

Yelp
Lucky Bird- I know you don't know me, but after having met you this past weekend, I'm smitten. Okay, I'm more than just smitten, I'm OBSESSED. Your divine menu offers the best of the best, is perfectly hand crafted and 100% delicious! I had the pleasure of noshing on your Asian Tenders (juicy, hand breaded chicken tenders, smothered in sweet and spicy Asian sauce with honey mustard and topped with scallions) and loaded sweet potato waffle fries (Sweet potato waffle fries, buttermilk dressing, Cotija cheese, bacon, scallions) which literally made me weak in the knees! Like HOLY MOLY. Your staff is beyond friendly and provides killer recommendations and the ordering process is easy peasy, which was great for any size group, like the one that joined me recently in Edgewater this past weekend! You definitely go out of your way to showcase your skills with the best of the best!! Sure you're a bit pricy, but your large portion sizes and awesome depth of flavor makes you 100% worth it! I can't wait to show you off to all my family and friends, so countdown the days until my return! Your latest love- Katie F

Yelp
Seeking to sample a bit of everything at Edgewater Public Market this past weekend, Katie F's husband sought out everything sharable for our group of five. This of course meant bringing back several tasty items from Lucky Bird which totally knocked our socks off. Let's break it down: First up: Loaded Sweet Potato Waffle Fries -- Sweet potato waffle fries, buttermilk dressing, Cotija cheese, bacon, topped with scallions. Lucky Bird is not kidding when they said these fries are loaded! These sweet potato waffle fries out other waffle fries to shame. In fact, I don't know if I can go back to those unimpressive bare waffle fries of my past. Next up: Asian Tenders -- Hand breaded chicken tenders, sweet and spicy Asian sauce, honey mustard, topped with scallions. Yum! The hand breaded chicken tenders are juicy and fried to perfection; while the sweet and spicy Asian sauce is completely drool worthy. Def a perfect match right there. To say we enjoyed our meal would be an injustice. We loved our meal! I will definitely be back to try more of Lucky Bird's mouthwatering, delicious menu -- soon!

Jared L.

Yelp
First time in. Fresh chicken with the perfect breading, fries fresh and crisp. The ranch you could tell was homemade, honey mustard to die for. 10/10 trust a fat boy

Tony S.

Yelp
While picking up my food the employee cooking chastised a nice lady with her children for "having a bad day of business" claiming the children were "too loud." Mind you, this Lucky Bird location is in the Edgewater Marketplace which is, by nature, a loud environment. After being embarrassed by the rude employee, the lady walked to the other side of the marketplace, away from the Lucky Bird. I'm guessing the reason for slow business is not children, but a rude employee.

Allison J.

Yelp
When I came here I had to put my order in myself, wasn't even greeted by the man cooking not even so much as a hello. Then my chicken sandwich wasn't even cooked all the way!!! so disappointed never coming back what a WASTE of money! don't come here!

Jenny G.

Yelp
Asian Tenders: Juicy chicken, but dry breading. The sauce was soy saucey and vinegary with a small kick. Sweet Potato Waffle Fries: Really dry, most pieces were crispy. However, the honey mustard was delicious!

Lianna B.

Yelp
Located inside edgewater public marketplace, they specialize in solid fried chicken sandwiches and waffles fries. They have 4 different sandwich options all served on a potato bun, some wraps and salads and a few variation of waffles fries including sweet potato. I had the spicy bird which had a gojuchang sauce with a nice kick to it. There is nothing else inside the sandwich other than the chicken and a pickle so you can really taste the fried chicken which was nice and crunchy. If you're a sauce person, I may recommend ordering a side of sauce as well as they put only a moderate amount on. They really load the sandwich with chicken though so it's filling. The waffle fries were crunchy as well but a little on the salty side and served with Dijon mustard which takes away from the flavour. I ate them without the sauce and they were still tasty but would have liked a chipotle mayo or ketchup to dip. The service was quick-readywithin 10 minutes and reasonably priced (about 10 dollars for the sandwich and 5 for sweet potato waffle waffles fries) They also have a loaded fries option which I did not try but would be curious to

Yelp
It's rare that I'm compelled to leave a review, but The Lucky Bird is deserving of it. This place offers incredible, high quality eats at reasonable prices! I am a big fan of their Buffalo Bleu Tenders, they are incredibly flavorful and are always so satisfying! On top of that the customer service is top notch, and the people who work here are kind and genuine! I can't say enough great things about this place! I'll be back! Thank you!

Laurel M.

Yelp
We ate there last week and both got food poisoning. The chicken was tough on the outside and appeared to have been fried twice. The tenders were definitely undercooked, despite being overdone on the outside. Employees were sitting in the food court and were rude about having to wait on customers. Anyone going through chemotherapy, with chronic health issues, diabetes, or with a compromised immune system should definitely not risk eating here. I sent the owners an email prior to writing a review but they didn't bother to respond.

Elizabeth J.

Yelp
Crispy on the outside, moist, tender, and juicy on the inside. Spicy enough to make your lips tingle, without being painful. Blue cheese to keep the fire to a smolder and the touch of fresh scallions really gave it the perfect pop of flavors. So, so good.

Carolina H.

Yelp
The first time we tried Lucky Bird, I can honestly say I fell in love!! The chicken sandwich was perfection. Every bite was flavorful. We also ordered their loaded sweet potato fries and OMG! They were amazing as well. Crunchy but would also melt in your mouth.

Hector B.

Yelp
Got up into that Buffalo tender! With my best friend. The chicken was moist and tender. The spice was right. It wasn't too spicy too turn others off. The blue cheese was pungent. Overall a great and different meal to come and enjoy!

Sophia K.

Yelp
oh my goodness just stop. FREAKING AMAZING. this ranked so high on my favorite chicken sammy list. the tenders were crispy and juicy on the inside but a consistency i've never had before! delicious slaw!! their famous honey mustard was delicious and the waffle fries...i could cry tears of joy. will be back!!

Dave B.

Yelp
A very good chicken sandwich. Lots of moist, tender chicken. Tasty sauce. Good bun. My only complaint is that the Nashville hot sauce was not very spicy. If your eyes don't bleed, then it is too mild. Recommended.

Steve K.

Yelp
I loved the Buffalo chicken that is served at T L B. The sauce that enrobed the chicken was tangy without being overpowering, along with the blue cheese on top it was simple delicious

Kim G.

Yelp
Had the buffalo chicken tenders and loaded sweet potato fries. Both were excellent and large portions (had leftovers). The staff was very friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend this place

Terry C.

Yelp
The chicken was just fantastic! Had a salad and it was fantastic! Juicy, delightful and fun!

Hayden R.

Yelp
Pretty long wait for expensive average chicken. Plenty of other good spots at the market, I won't be back.

Katherine S.

Yelp
This place is the BEST!!!! Not only is every chicken tender, sandwich, or wrap amazing AF- the service is next level! I got here at 9 on a Friday night and not only were Matt and Angie stoked to help (despite being hit hard and limited to tenders and fries) they also made sure to accommodate the sauces we were craving. Can not recommend this place enough- and LOVE Matt and Angie- thanks for making our night

Heather B.

Yelp
Have been coming here since it was opened pretty much, good tenders and sweet potato fries, the Og owners/workers are cool as well, but I'm wondering what's going on here fellas.. Prices have gone up, portion sizes have gone down, particularly on the sweet potato fries, sauces, feeling kinda ripped off for the amount you are giving for price im paying these days. Why not hook people up on decent size portions, you're charging 5-7$ for fries depending on size and the amount we receive has dramatically decreased (look at the photo for the amount of fries) I get times are tight for everyone but for the prices you guys are charging, you're going to lose business or at least loyal customers.

Jenna B.

Yelp
first time in the market & the lucky bird was a great first choice. i got the chicken salad wrap with crispy chicken & the whole flavor profile was soooo good. i devoured the whole wrap, and that thing was huge. the waffle fries were super fresh and delicious as well. the only thing that would make that sandwich 5 stars for me personally, would just be a little more cranberries , otherwise, top notch ! definitely recommend.

Mary H.

Yelp
We ate at the food truck last week when it was at Rayback's. The loaded sweet potato fries are amazing and Eric, one of the chefs, said he would give my son a free tender if he climbed the food truck steps. So nice! My son was very excited about the Chicken tender! Highly recommend!

Adam H.

Yelp
Awful - food is so so and you are forced to order of a touch screen which is fine but any amendments to the salad were not possible I could not get any assistance and the tip options are 20 18 or 15% for ordering off a touch screen McDonalds offers much more service and they don't ask for a tip. A tip FOR WHAT???

Gwen P.

Yelp
I'm a bit of a chicken finger expert (aka I love to eat them) so I don't say this lightly: tonight's chicken fingers from Lucky Bird at Edgewater Public Market were the best I've had in memory! My friends dining with me agreed. Perfectly juicy and meaty with just the right amount of breading. And it was expertly seasoned. Yummmm. My mouth is watering just writing this review! I am both elated and scared that chicken fingers of this caliber are available so conveniently to me...

Mike B.

Yelp
Grabbed a chicken tender from lucky bird and I am blown away by how good these things are. It's great to see when a cook can elevate a simple item like a chicken tender. Makes me want to step up my game at home from basic ketchup.

Vinnie D.

Yelp
Ordered takeout and it was awful. For the price it was a bit underwhelming. The "sandwich" I ordered was just two tenders thrown on a bun and not Nashville hot as ordered and paid for. I'd try it again ordering on the spot but never make the mistake of ordering takeout online ever again.

Tim H.

Yelp
Mediocre spot for mediocre chicken with a mediocre staff. Seems like they're having more fun watching us order than evening helpful. Not to mention $0.75 for honey mustard. GTFOH.

Jessica L.

Yelp
Got a buffalo wrap with roasted chicken and it was a sopping mess of buffalo sauce. Ended up tossing it.

Antrue P.

Yelp
Crispy, juicy and great portion size. Get the spicy Asian tenders with Nashville hot, so much flavor!
