Multiple Restaurants Around Miami Decide to Take a Break Until the Fall | Eater Miami

"Taking a hiatus in Miami Beach, this Gordon Ramsay restaurant posted, “As the city’s tempo softens, we’re reflecting on an incredible first chapter and dreaming up what’s next….This isn’t a goodbye, just a moment to breathe,” with no details yet on a reopening date." - Laine Doss

Lucky Cat - Review - South Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"The thick crowds at Lucky Cat aren’t here because it’s one of the best restaurants in South Beach. It’s not. They’re here because it’s owned by an inescapably big celebrity chef who’s famous for screaming at people. And although the dark, brooding dining room doses feel aesthetically inspired by a professional meanie, the restaurant itself is not a complete gimmick. It's trying to be a good restaurant, and it occasionally is. Highlights of the vaguely Southeast Asian menu include a fried confit duck leg served with bao and a whole sea bream cooked on a robata grill. But there are misses too, like the puny sushi, a sad take on Korean fried chicken, and the fact that you may have to wait 30 minutes for your table on a busy night. Overall, Lucky Cat doesn't stand out in South Beach enough to make it your first choice for anything, but you can also do worse if your priority is simply to eat somewhere with name recognition. photo credit: Gordon Ramsay North America" - Ryan Pfeffer

Absolutely loved our experience! We came to celebrate my sister’s birthday and had such a wonderful time. The atmosphere was fantastic — and the DJ made the evening feel even more special and vibrant. The service was outstanding! Every dish was explained in detail, the staff were incredibly attentive, and it honestly felt like the entire team was working together to make us feel welcomed and well taken care of. We ate a lot 😅 but still saved room for dessert — and it was a true symphony of flavors.

Words can't describe the experience i had last night at this hidden gem! Everything was absolutely perfect! The ambiance, the vibe, the music, the service, the drinks and the food was another level!!! Was beyond good! It definitely exceeded my expectations! Everything that we have had was 10+ we had the fried rice, the whole fish, sushi, edamame, wow the ceviche Honestly I recommend this restaurant from the bottom of my heart! Thank you John for taking such a great care of us!!! Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!!!!

Little Cat by Gordon Ramsay exceeded all our expectations! We stopped by on a whim and were immediately impressed by the sleek and sultry atmosphere—it’s the perfect blend of modern and inviting. The menu offers all the Asian staples you’d expect, but with some fun, creative twists that make it stand out. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and perfectly timed. We chose one of the tasting menus, and we definitely made the right choice! The attention to detail was clear in both the food and the service. Speaking of service, the wait staff was exceptional—attentive, kind, and knowledgeable, which made the whole experience even better. Little Cat is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates incredible Asian cuisine in a chic setting. From start to finish, it was a flawless 10/10 experience. We can’t wait to come back!

The Lucky Cat is a must-try in South Beach. Every plate carries the essence of Japanese cooking: beautiful presentation, some more minimalist, with depths of flavor in every bite. I had to visit it twice last time I was in Miami and Stephen is a brilliant mixologist and wonderful person. Multiple people including the GM checked in with me without being overbearing. The ceviche is one of the best I've tried and, for anything you order, definitely get the fresh wasabi. They even use traditional sharkskin to grate it. The sea bream was fantastic and surprisingly filling. Their version of the French Toast dessert was so good it's ruined almost every other rendition I've tried. As for drinks, there's a wonderful selection of spirits and the Lucky Negroni is a must for any gin lover. Roll 3 dice and let fate decide your combination (honestly, there's no bad combination)

Nice fine dining restaurant but I expected much more. We had a reservation for 23:15 and arrived on time. After we sat down someone came and told us we can't order food because the restaurant is closed. We told him that we have a reservation and then he checked and allowed us to order something (in a rush). The option he suggested is for them to choose us the best menu items. We were rushed to send the order to the kitchen quickly so we said yes and no additional questions were asked (like what kind of food we like / dislike etc). Then they brought us mostly fish dishes (only one meat) that were very nice but caused some stomach pain for my partner (we told in advance we're having a long flight the day after and wished the food to be the freshest selection - if Sushi wasn't fresh enough we would have preferred to get more meat or cooked fish instead) The service was far below my expectation. Towel that was dropped on the floor was lifted by the waiter without washing the hands, the plates were put on the table with the fingers touching the dishes. Its not something that bothered me too much, but for a restaurant at this price range - I would expect Michelin star level of service. Overall - we enjoyed the atmosphere and the quality of the food, but expected much more. All of the pictures I've attached are 410$ including tax and mandatory service fee of 18%, I think it should have been half.

Google
Lucky Cat is a stunning restaurant with a beautifully designed venue that creates a great atmosphere for a special night out. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We went on a Saturday night, about 30 minutes after it opened, and were surprised to find it completely empty. Even as the evening went on, it never really filled up, which was unexpected given the reputation of the restaurant. This was especially surprising because the food was actually pretty decent. The menu offers a wide range of options at varying price points, so while it’s definitely on the expensive side, there are choices to suit different budgets. The sushi was absolutely delicious—fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. However, the fried rice turned out to be much spicier than expected, to the point that we couldn’t eat it, which was disappointing

My experience at Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the stylish and intimate ambiance set the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The attention to detail in both the presentation and flavors of the dishes truly stood out. Each course delivered something special. The grilled meats were beautifully charred with a rich depth of flavor, the dumplings were delicate yet packed with umami, and the sushi was elegantly prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The balance of textures and flavors in every dish showcased both innovation and respect for traditional Asian cuisine. A special highlight was the dessert—a decadent yet refined treat that rounded off the meal perfectly. The birthday surprise was also a thoughtful touch, adding to the warm and hospitable service. Overall, Lucky Cat exceeded my expectations. The combination of bold flavors, stunning presentation, and a vibrant atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone looking for a refined yet exciting dining experience. I will definitely be returning!

Google
Great service and cocktails. Food was decent but not 5* Most of the dishes were decent but the loud asian flavour was missing even on the fried rice. The uni toast was not that great. Sashimi is really good and we tried some unique desserts recommended by our server. Won't comment on value for money as I live in Asia but we had a good time thanks to the cocktails, ambiance and great service.

Yelp
I was so happy to finally try Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay - my husband and I recently went for a date night. We started with cocktails - and my husband loved the lucky negroni, where you roll three dice to determine the liquor, bitters and flavor of the drink! The standout dishes for me were the lamb dumplings and the steak tartare. We did order the fried rice - but the bonito flakes were just too fishy for us; when our server asked us if she could take the dish away and asked why we didn't like it - we were honest, but also said it was totally on us, as bonito flakes were listed on the menu. However, when the check came, they had comped that dish - which was truly so nice. Overall, I enjoyed our meal - but wish I would have passed on the sushi - I can get similar quality for cheaper elsewhere. Overall, it was a good meal - but definitely very pricey.

Yelp
We went to lucky cat with a group of friends to try and it was the best experience ever! I ordered a tomato salad and that was amazing (I still think about it today) I didn't think anyone could make a tomato salad taste so good. That was by far my favorite dish of the night. The service was exceptional. We always had someone come to our table and ask if everything was to our liking and if we needed anything. Finally the restaurant itself was beautiful. I loved the flowers on the outside of the entrance and the inside was very elegant! I plan on going back soon! I loved it

Yelp
Exceptional food and service. This is the best meal that I have had in South Beach for years. The ambiance was very private. There was a famous political figure in the restaurant, but you would have never known. I tried steak tartare for the first time, and I really enjoyed it. The kitchen was kind enough to customize some of the dishes for our food preferences. The server Alex was really professional and top notch. He was very knowledgeable and explained the dishes very well.

Yelp
We ordered the Journey and it was so totally worth it! It was a five course meal and I'm glad we ordered it because we loved everything we ate but we probably would not have order the plates if it wasn't part of the deal. You chose your entree and we had some salmon and fried rice. AMAZING. The service was fast and very attentive. The waiters wound come and fill up our water quickly and remove unused places soon. The ambience was nice but a little dark... I did like how our table which was a booth was secluded and gave us privacy. We will definitely come back!

Yelp
We actually had a great time here on a slow, frigid night where most people decided to stay home. It's a beautiful space and we found the staff to be incredibly friendly and engaging. Cocktails are most definitely a standout here and the menu is impressive. The bartenders are skilled and fun to chat with. We did the $65 tasting menu and it was very good and excellent value for the money. It might be the best value on the beach given the quality and quantity if food. They also have a very attractive happy hour menu.

Yelp
Walking into Lucky Cat feels like stepping into a world where sleek design meets electric energy. The decor? Spot-on. Every detail creates the perfect ambiance--stylish, modern, and just the right amount of cool. The cocktails were as creative as the vibe--interesting and perfectly crafted. I tried the nigiri, and wow, they were super fresh and packed with flavor. For dessert, not only did it taste amazing, but it was a work of art on the plate. I gave the Miami Space Menu a shot, and the portions were generous with every dish tasting just right. It's the kind of menu that leaves you feeling satisfied and i got to taste Lot of amazing dishes on the menu. I'm a huge fan of crying tiger steak (I even make it at home) and Ramsey's version was not bad. If you're looking for a place that nails both atmosphere and flavor, Lucky Cat is the spot. Come for the vibe, stay for the food, and don't even think about skipping dessert.

Yelp
If I could give zero starts to this place i would. Worst costumer service. The service is SO SLOW. We had an 8pm reservation and the food TOOK AGES to come out. At the end I had to ask for the check and even to bring the check they took so much time . They offered us to take the food they never brought to the table complimentary but even though I did not take it. I was falling asleep in the place waiting for my meal. The place was half empty and we are so disappointed because we were celebrating someone's birthday .

Yelp
The lucky cat was amazing best date ever. We did the journey meal together and it was well priced and amazing cuisine. The flavors were so packed and smoked and the aroma of the dishes were so sweet. We went through appetizers and dishes before getting our main dish which was miso salmon and fried egg rice. In all the food was so good and the atmosphere was like the night life in biscayne. This is a good delight for an intimate night. The service was also exceptional our waiter suggested many dishes and guided us with help through the course he was a huge help

Yelp
Tuna was good, salmon was good. Service was terrible (my water was perpetually never filled and they only asked if we wanted drink refills 1 hour in). The worst service i've ever had at a fancy restaurant. It takes forever to get the food and it is overpriced. The chicken doesn't taste as good as KFC or Raisin Canes down the street. My fiancee and I git the pre fixe. She got the chicken main I got the fried rice main. Save yourself some money and wasted time and go to Panda Express. The chocolate ice cream at the end was the highlight and was actually good. Come here for desserts and sit at the bar. Ambiance is great, modern. One thing that stuck out is my waiter brought out dessert as we were still eating our mains... and then wiped the table with a babywipe. I feel like the wait staff here needs more training. Gabriel was our server. He took forever, didn't keep our glasses filled, and was gossiping in the back corner rather than taking care of customers. Awful. The place was almost empty too. Save yourself a headache and go someone else. Ripoff and the food was awful.

Yelp
Dined here while visiting Miami. I tried many items from the menu, and I would say, they were all very good. I'm not a fan of duck, but I figured that this would be the place to try it, so I ordered the Confit Duck Leg Bao, and I would say, it was my favorite out of everything that I tried. Other items that I ate were the GFC, the BBQ Sea Bream, the Sashimi. The restaurant looks very elegant. It's a great place for a foodie as you'll get to try different items.

Yelp
We love Gordon Ramsay's restaurants! We had a phenomenal first experience at Hell's Kitchen in Downtown Miami and were so excited to see the first North American location of Lucky Cat to open in Miami Beach! We waited a few weeks after the restaurant to open to secure a weekend dinner reservation. Parking is a little challenging in the South of Fifth neighborhood. I would recommend looking for street parking, or either looking for one of the Miami Beach city parking garages around 7th-8th and Washington. For a few hours of parking it maxes out around $12, just give yourself 15-20 minutes before your reservation to find parking. We entered the restaurant and the employees held the door open for us and provided us a warm welcome and were promptly seated at a nice booth in the restaurant. Our server came over a few minutes later and provided us a warm welcome and answered to answer any questions we initially had on the menu. We ordered a bottle of wine for I believe around $60, and ordered a couple of various appetizers for around $10. For entrees, we ordered the fried chicken ($19) and the Egg Fried Rice ($29). All food was absolutely amazing and very fresh and flavorful. Overall it was an absolutely amazing dining experience and service throughout the restaurant was amazing as well. We look forward to returning!

Yelp
The service was very kind, helpful and welcoming! The restaurant is very dark and pretty and we loved the bar area. We each had two of the satori coctails--which is their version of an espresso martini. The top foam came in a shape of ying and yang symbol! so cute! It had vanilla liquor in it, which was a nice touch! We started with the AUBERGINE & CABBAGE DUMPLINGS, which were a delicious flavor pop in a soy but also chili crunch. Unbelievable! The duck bao was build it yourself style. the duck was sooo crispy and the bao buns were warm soft pillows with the lucky cat insignia. A few pickles to top it, but i wish they gave more. We also got the egg fried rice and the clay pot glass noodles with maine lobster (im a new england girl).. I actually preferred the fried rice, but my friend preferred the noods. I didn't like the texture combo of the soft noodles with the hard greens.

Yelp
Came here for a for a girls night at a recommendation of a friend. Tried a few items including a mocktail (very good, highly recommend) the Korean /fried chicken and the egg fried rice. Prices were high and food was basic/unremarkable. Standard for south beach I guess but was a bit disappointed considering it's a Gordan Ramsey establishment/ franchise

Yelp
Very good food. Very expensive and the valet parking for 20$ was not very pleasant anyway it is Miami so. Service was great. Must order the duck and Uni toast. Would I come back for the food. Not really Bz it's very inconvenient drive and to pay so much for parking. The food was good.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this restaurant because I am a big Gordon Ramsay fan, however upon arrival it took over 10 minutes to be greeted by our server and get a glass of water and drink menu. Automatically, I was worried because that's usually a sign that the experience will not love up to my expectations. The server was very friendly and went through the whole explanation of the restaurant along with recommendations for his favorite dishes which I appreciated. We ended up ordering the tahini and miso cucumbers and lamb dumplings for our appetizers. For our mains we got an order of the hamachi nigiri, clay pot glass noodles with lobster, and a side order of the char sui mushrooms. For drinks, we got lychee martinis but they tasted more like lemon drops and were very sweet. The cucumbers were tasty, but definitely a weird appetizer to get. Unfortunately the lamb dumplings did not arrive until AFTER we got our main course, which was unfortunate because we wanted them as an appetizer and having lamb dumplings paired with a lobster dish felt weird. The glass noodles were ok, but I didn't think they were anything to write home about. The flavor was interesting to me. Our favorite dish was the side order of mushrooms, I would say that is the only dish I would talk about from this restaurant. I don't think I will be coming here again because as much as the ambiance was nice, I didn't personally love the menu items enough to want to try anything different. I did not feel inclined to take as many food photos as I normally do because the dishes were just ok.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of G.R. so wanted to try this place even though I didn't know much about it. Nicely decorated inside, dimly lit giving an intimate setting vibe. Was quickly greeted at the entrance and sat at the bar for a cocktail before heading to a table for dinner. At the bar order a margarita, refreshing, the big ice cube block had the restaurant logo emblemed/stamped on it which gave it a unique touch. Service at the bar and at our table was impeccable, everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. The food however was just ok, nothing to rave about yet nothing bad. Ordered a handful of dishes to be able to try a variety of items. The oysters were interesting with the grapefruit but I think it over powered the flavor of the oyster itself, nonetheless a different take on how to present raw oysters. The lamb dumplings, like the rolls, were good, nothing memorable though. My favorite dish, which was the one I was least expecting to like was actually the glass noodles. Cooked and seasoned well with pieces of Maine lobster and pork belly, it was the dish I enjoyed the most. Closed the night with a delightful glass of French dessert wine, which was nice to see on the after dinner drinks menu. Overall it was a nice evening but I don't see myself coming back for the food, especially since Miami has so many places/new places to try.

Yelp
The food here was pretty good I thought the taste was pretty unique and the sushi was fresh tasting. The steak was cooked a good medium rare and was tasty. I think the decor of the restaurant was the best part! The inside was very dim lit but fit the theme very well. We did go on a weekday and it was slow but the service was also slow which sadly didn't make a lot of sense to me! Otherwise it was a great experience

Yelp
Loved the ambiance of this restaurant! This is a perfect date night spot too. The music was great and not so loud you can't hold conversation. Here's what we ordered: Edamame (spicy) - you can't really mess this one up! It's a simple tasty dish (was good). Kyoto cucumbers - I LOVED these. Chopped cucumbers in a rich and nutty tahini dressing . I will be trying to make these at home. Oysters - definitely worth the order. This was my first time eating grapefruit on an oyster and I was pleasantly surprised! I'm not even a fan of grapefruit, but definitely love them on oysters now. Papaya salad - This was good, but probably my least favorite dish out of everything we ordered. My boyfriend loved it though. I think it might have been a little too spicy for me. So if you like spicy it's your dish! Confit duck leg bao - this was our main dish. Duck was perfectly crisp . That bonito crust hits different with duck We also ordered some nigiri and all 3 of them were so fresh and amazing. Otoro, kinmedai, & Japanese wagyu (favorite). Drinks: Lucky Negroni- this was a cool concept where you roll dice to get a unique combination of gin, bitter, and vermouth. Worth the order! Ureshi - this was so smooth!! If you're a sake lover and also a lychee lover this is your drink! This was my favorite. Satori - espresso martini style drink. This was the perfect night cap Everything was great here! We did come on opening night so service was a tiny bit delayed, but this was expected and it wasn't anything too awful. We'll be back!

Yelp
I'm a huge GR fan, not just because I'm in love with most, if not all of his shows including Hell's Kitchen, Master Chef and Unchartered, but because I recently went to Hell's Kitchen and had an amazing experience. I was hoping for the same if not better with Lucky Cat as I'm personally a sushi fan. Our group was celebrating another birthday (we are the same group that went to Hell's Kitchen) and although I wouldn't personally have favored another one of GR establishments just weeks from one another, but was vetoed to go as they were all still flying high on the GR wagon. I can gladly say that this restaurant gives a romantic sort of speakeasy vibe with it's dim lighting, dark colored walls and rich luxurious seating. Beautiful decor. The birthday couple got there first and were getting started at the bar until the rest of us arrived, however upon entering, the host hastily seated us at our table and advised us she will call the couple over from the bar. This was a bit of a bummer as we would've preferred to join them but I must disclose that this time around we made a Saturday night reservation whereas Hell's Kitchen was a Monday night experience. This of course meant it was a much busier environment with families and kids and so service was slow and not as closely attentive. Now on to the cocktails and menu. We have 'old fashioned' lovers in our group including myself so it tends to be the go-to cocktail, so we went for their Gohan version which successfully passed the test however someone decided to order the Lucky Negroni. Whatever combination was rolled, didn't combine well at all. Our drinker that likes it pretty went for the Sozu which consisted of gin, plum blossom sake, yuzu, coconut and rhubarb. At first you'd think it would be milky but was pleasantly surprised by the lightness and refreshing taste. We were then greeted by our waiter making his way around the table to advise us on the menu. We understood it to be family style and that the dishes were sharable. I would have to disagree as the servings were rather small. We started with edamame, papaya salad and ceviche. I thoroughly enjoyed the papaya salad however the group's not too keen to spicy and thought it was too much. We then went on to order (for sharing): ceviche, lamb dumplings, (2) egg fried rice, the 30 day prime dry-aged porterhouse, baked clay pot glass noodles, Australian waygu skirt steak, and zenmai roll. The waygu was presented along with a certificate of authenticity. It was very good, melt in your mouth good as the steak didn't need much if any chewing, it literally emulsified in your mouth. By far the highlight of the night. What didn't live up to the expectations were the Zenmai roll, glass noodles and lamb dumplings. The glass noodles and 2nd fried rice came out so late we thought it was comp'd but come to find out it just came out when we were already almost finished. Unfortunately the noodles and dumplings were rather oily and were much smaller than I'd hoped (for the price). Didn't even get to try any nigiri or any other sushi that I was looking forward to tasting. Not many of us opted for dessert so we nibbled on a sticky tamarind cake which was pretty good. For what our bill ended up tallying to as we wrapped things up, we all agreed that it didn't measure up to our expectations and left wanting something more. I plan to return in a non-group setting to try their Miami Spice menu and give this another shot.

Yelp
Went to Lucky on Saturday of the opening night weekend. Greeters were nice and waitress was very good. Super attentive, knew the menu, and gave great suggestions. Inside was dim lighting. Gives more of an intimate feel depending on there you were sitting. Lots of "cats" figure everywhere. Has a bar area and a chefs table. Music is playing in the background. The Wagyu Nigiri and Tuna (chotoro) Nigiri for me were the best things I ate. It was so good and fresh. I also had the Salmon Nigiri but was not as good as the others. The springs rolls were fresh but Ok. The egg fried rice was good and fresh. I really the the Fried Chicken (forgot the name of the plate), it is spicy so make sure you can handle some spice. There a couple of other things I ate but it was ok. The dessert was light and fresh, I wouldn't say its amazing. It was good. Overall food was really fresh when I went. The problem people might find and I kind of felt it, its the servings are mostly small for some of the plates and its pricey. So without drinks it already gets pretty expensive. You start to question the value. Overall it was good, I would go back if others wanted to go and ill order only the things I know i really like to enjoy. Hopefully same waiters would be great!

Yelp
"Pros: The restaurant and service were impeccable. The Taste of Lucky Cat was very reasonable. We had the signature for $115/pp. the smoked tomato salad was fantastic, the waygu melted in your mouth. And the Sea Bream was delicious. Cons: The cocktail I ordered was obviously made from syrupy mix. Not a fan. I have been to various celebrity chef restaurants and this is the first one that missed the mark. A few of our dishes had flavor and texture issues, but the one that was unforgivable was the lamb dumplings and raw steak. The dumplings were tough and overworked. The seasoning was awful. One of the worst things I have ever eaten and that is not an exaggeration. If I had been at home I would have spit it out. For our main entree I asked if the steaks are cooked to temp and was told they were. The rib eye was less than 1/2 inch thick and was rare at the ends and raw in the center. I couldn't eat it. The sticky toffee pudding had a burnt flavor I could not place but it was not enjoyable. For a $500 dinner I expect more. I would not recommend this place when there are so many other highly recommended restaurants in the area. Chef Ramsey should visit this location because there is no way this is up to the standards he portrays on TV.

Yelp
Only giving the overall rating 3 stars because of the staff if not, my rating would be 2 stars unfortunately. I had high hopes for Lucky Cat, especially since it's a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, and chose it to celebrate my birthday on New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to my expectations. We opted for the Signature menu (a 4-course option), and while a few dishes stood out-the Duck Bao Buns we ordered beforehand, the Salmon Roll, and the Tamarind Cake dessert-everything else fell short. The main course was the biggest disappointment. We both ordered the rib eye, cooked medium well, but the outside was completely charred, and that overwhelming burnt flavor ruined the dish. We requested a replacement and chose the baby chicken, but it wasn't any better. The sauce underneath was broken and watery, and the chicken itself lacked flavor aside from the same overly charred taste. As it was my birthday celebration/New Years Eve, I was embarrassed to admit I wasn't enjoying the food, but my husband eventually spoke up. Our waitress, however, was fantastic-she was kind, understanding, and did her best to help us navigate the situation. Unfortunately, despite her efforts, it didn't change the fact that we paid over $300 for a meal that didn't meet even basic expectations for flavor and quality. I really wanted to love this place, but it just didn't deliver on what l'd hoped would be a special evening.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Very attentive and helpful. Food was excellent. Definitely order the fried chicken. It's really not that spicy. The omakase box was delicious, beautiful presentation as well The duck bar buns were amazing. The duck was crispy and flavorful. The yuzu dessert was also very tasty

Place was nice and dark, jazzy funky music was a plus. The host was welcoming and management came along to make sure our needs were met. Our server Jasmine was more than amazing; very polite, welcoming & all of the above.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this restaurant because I love sushi and my husband hyped it up so much. I had a bad experience here. When the waiter first asked me about dietary restrictions I told him I can not have anything spicy due to allergy. Then he proceeded to bring me spicy cucumber, spicy rice and even sushi with wasabi! It was ridiculous then they didn't take the rice off the bill. Then when I was leaving there were little slats on the floor outside the door my heel got stuck in between and almost broke my leg- further I completely ruined the heel on my new pair of $1200 Loubotin and the door man didn't care at all. Not a good experience and will not reccomend. I would not return.

Yelp
Street and lot (recommended) parking nearby. Valet also available. Nice decor; however, upon entry was told the AC was broken. Luckily they had fans and it did feel comfortable, but perhaps they could have warned us before hand. Clean bathrooms. The bar tender was very friendly and skilled, she treated us well. Ambiance dimly light, nice wine rack decors about. Music was a a good volume, enjoyable while still able to converse without fighting it. Food was pretty good, I'd say the stand out for me was the grapefruit with oyster combo. High quality sushi, although while salmon tartare maki was a hit, the flavor combo of the chirashi was a miss. Pretty good noodles. The lamb dumplings were nice, however, a bit of a tease portion wise. I'd say for a celebrity chef restaurant for the price, I was expecting a bit more though. I can't say I'd go out of my way to recommend this to my friends. While average, you may be paying more for the celebrity name vs the overall experience.

Yelp
Surprisingly good. As a native Miamian you a weary to venture to the Beach for a culinary night. Mediocre food that is over priced, which are normally tourist traps with hideous traffic to deal with. But Lucky Cat joins the list to make an exception to venture out and try their menu. Neon signs paint a homage to Hong Kong and Macao's ubiquitous use of same in their cities. The food is amazing, a twist on the Cantonese delicacies with modern and local ingredients. Our server was excellent and funny and was surprised to have locals at his table. He expertly guided us through the menu. We started off with the oysters, they were juicy and plump, but could loose the grapefruit. We then had the dumplings and fried chicken: wow! I could almost hear the sound of Hong Kong's harbor. The chicken was fried but not overly and sweet. We then shared our main meals: fried rice, steak and cod. The server brings the fried rice with a whole egg and then mixes it in front of you. The flank steak is a nod to the local Latin culinary scene. The cod was cooked just right and was soft in the inside, with a crispy outside mimicking fried chicken. We washed it all down with a bottle of Galician Albariño; excellent pairing for Miami's climate. Kudos to the sommelier. All in all an excellent destination to get you off the mainland. If you are visiting, drop by and avoid those other tourist traps. The price was reasonable for a party of four. Chef has created a delectable, reasonably priced homage to Hong Kong cuisine that harkens back to the Crown Colony days; and who knows this may be the last time you associate neon with Cantonese food as China is on a campaign to eradicate them. Parking: valet. Right in front.

Yelp
It was everything I expected and more! Lets take it from the top. When you get to the restaurant there is valet available for $25 (zelle, apple pay or cash payments), or there is also a parking lot down the block. We opted to valet because its so convenient and the price isn't bad considering you're in Miami Beach. The valet also doubled as our photographer. (Much appreciated) We were greeted right at the door and the girls at the check in desk were very friendly. We reserved seating at the sushi bar since weren't really sure where it was best to sit. They even offered to move us if we didn't like it. But when we were taken to the sushi bar, we loved it! You have a front row view to watch the masters at work while creating some beautiful sushi arrangements. The whole time we were eating we were in awe by all the cool things they were making. It was also so fun to see how they work together. It is a well oiled machine behind that counter! The menu is quite impressive. They have a separate sushi menu, and the main menu as well. Along with the cocktail menu and wine menu. But we didn't feel overwhelmed at all. We were greeted by our waitress Brittany and the sommelier Freya which were so helpful!! Freya made some wonderful suggestions for drinks as well as what food items she would pair it with. I am not very familiar with sake, and she even brought me a sample which was really sweet. She went through different menu options for us. Needless to say, I wanted Freya to sit with me lol. Brittany also made some amazing suggestions. It was so hard to just pick a few!! Both Brittany and Freya were so knowledgeable. You can tell they have great training! Now time for the food breakdown: I have never tried Uni. So we began the night with the Uni Toast which is Japanese Uni on brioche with some other toppings like ikura. It comes with 2 pieces. It really is the best bite of your life. The Uni is so rich and creamy. Does not have a fishy taste and pairs so well with the bread. Tastes like an umami butter! Next we had the Manila Wagyu Roll with F1 wagyu princess, marinated shiitake, tamago, asparagus, crispy garlic. It was absolutely delicious. The wagyu is very fresh and tasty. The crispy garlic, asparagus and fresh sesame seeds on the roll make for a nice textured bite. We didn't order oysters (cause frankly we forgot. so much to taste!) But the sushi chef was nice enough to give us a little sample. He gave us an oyster each and it was to die for! It had a slice of grapefruit, along with a soy sauce and omg... Those are some fresh west coast oysters!! Now we moved on the "GFC" chicken. Brittany warned us it was spicy. She said from a scale of 1-10 it was a 7 and she was not exaggerating. From the get go I asked for an extra lime (cause the hubby is a tad spice sensitive). But that was just an explosion of flavor!! It is definitely spicy but the combination with the lime is great! For me it was the perfect amount of heat and acidity. But if you don't like spicy then just skip this one. My "spice sensitive" hubby did enjoy it with a few extra shots of lime. Next on the list was the baked clay pot glass noodles with Maine lobster, 5 spice Berkshire pork belly, jalapeño relish, garlic chips, fragrant herbs served at the table in it's clay pot. They toss it right in front of you to combine all those yummy flavors and will even serve you a portion on your plate. If you order one thing..... Make it this!!! Lets start with the fact that these noodles are cooked in a lobster broth so they are intensely flavorful. Do yourself the favor, cause these are amazing. The richness of the lobster, pork belly and all the fragrances of the herb make for an incredible bite. And last but not least we had the key lime soufflé for dessert!! Brittany told us if there was ever a place to order soufflé, it is here. Cause they are made to perfection. And she was so right! It is served with a brown butter ice cream and a caramel sauce. They serve it to you nice and fluffed up, making a hole in the middle and pouring the caramel sauce right inside. It is then recommended by the chef to toss the ice cream inside and eat it all together. The tartness of the yuzu combined with the sweetness of the brown butter ice cream really do pair incredibly nice! It is a great dessert that is not too sweet! Overall this was a 5 star dining experience, from all the employees, to the food, to the ambiance and music. Everything was exceptional and can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
I was lucky to be able to come here during the opening. We booked the chefs table as our valentines dinner. Immediately when you walk in, the atmosphere is just so inviting. We were walked over to the waiting area where we had a couple of old fashions which were amazing. We decided to do the wine pairing with our courses which was honestly some of the best wine I've had. Speaking of best ever, the food was amazing. Everything was so fresh and nice. I had dishes I am still thinking about. The service, the chefs, the sommelier were so kind and gave us an amazing service. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Delicious! All of the food we tried was nothing short of excellent. Our server was super friendly and brought a fun energy to our experience. This was a very expensive meal for two people. Is it in the top 20 best restaurants of Miami? Probably not. But it's a great spot for a date night.

Yelp
The service was outstanding, which is very hard to find in Miami. I really enjoyed the decor and vibe of the restaurant. With several different seating options available. Beverage's were delicious and I found the hot dishes to be wonderful. The tuna tartare was pretty hard to pick up. The sushi rice definitely needs some attending too. It was missing flavor and did not hold up. Overall, I would return but I wouldn't go out of the way unless I was already in the beach.

Yelp
3.5/5 I don't like leaving sup-par reviews, but as a local this is a hard pass. If I was visiting and staying in the area, maybe, but I would not return as a local. There's just too much competition nowadays. Service was really good, seated quickly and attentive even when messed up... although the staff seemed to be running around stressed. Maybe they're understaffed? Food... we ordered the spice menu and a few additional dishes. A hot dish we ordered came out before the first spice course, which was nigiri. I would've preferred the nigiri to come out first, but the nigiri were really good. I'm not one to complain about portions but both the tartare (which wasn't great, though I love shisho) & lamb dumplings were small, like very small. My salmon was undercooked. Like REALLY undercooked. They fixed it quick, and brought us an extra dessert to make up for it. 5 stars for the raspberry matcha Loli. The dishes I'd get again-- nigiri, any dessert. Mocktail with rose / lychee as well as the mango one also were superb. Ambiance was nice, loved the dim lighting, but why did they wipe out table with what smelled like a chlorox wipe? Very strong smell that wasn't pleasant during a meal. The small details matter, and there's just too many better options in Miami

Yelp
Really enjoyed our food and drinks here! The vibes were fancy and fun. It was a great place to celebrate my husbands birthday.

Yelp
Went for family & friends event and let me tell you, I can't wait for the opening! If you like the dim low lights date night feel, this is for you. From start to finish the wait staff was great (incl food runners and hostess). Sergio, our server, started us off by introducing the restaurant and style... which is shareable plates and food that comes out as ready. This spot will be a hit off the bat. My first time trying a Gordon Ramsey restaurant and I was over the moon impressed. We ordered the laos spring rolls, and a maki roll. The salmon tasted as if they plucked it out of the ocean a few hours before. Definitely try this out if you are on SoBe. Top tier dining experience!

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service, and an amazing ambiance. They have a $65 8 course meal that is out of this world and great value for such a nice restaurant. They even have a live DJ some nights that really sets the mood. The manager Devon, checked on us several times throughout our meal to make sure everything was up to expectations. I highly recommend this place, love the creativity of the chef there. Will be coming back very soon.

Yelp
Tried the "signature menu" at my first Gordon Ramsay restaurant. The food was incredible, it was a really fun experience. The server was extremely attentive & knowledgeable about the drinks & menu. Quiet & dark kind of ambiance, perfect for a date! I can see why their lucky cats get adopted often

Yelp
Had high expectations but the restaurant was dead when we came here on a Monday night. Service was good but we sent back the tiger rib eye 3 times because it was rare and we asked for med rare.. super disappointing.

Yelp
This review is way past due. I needed to let the experience marinate before posting . Was blessed with the opportunity to sit at the first Chefs table seating on opening night of Gordon Ramsay Lucky Cat in Miami, February 2024. Upon checking in early, we were wisked to a private waiting area to enjoy a craft cocktail while we waited. Perfect move to increase our anticipation. I've done a few Ramsay chefs tables, what I enjoy most is he delivers a unique experience in each kitchen. This one was all about being up close and personal with the artist preparing your course. You get so caught up in the service and execution, you almost lose track of the real star, the food. Each course was meticulously prepared with the best ingredients available. At least that was my observation. Some, like the Chawanmushi were traditional, others like the beef tartar had the Lucky Cat flair. For me, the Atlantic Cod with a stunning beurre blanc, and the appel-fed Wagu with black garlic topped the list. This place is also a great spot to have a nice cocktail and take in the Miami vibe. Definitely add it to your list.

Yelp
A must try spot in Miami, on par with the NYC dining scene as I am here visiting from midtown NYC, will definitely come back!!!

Yelp
The place is beautiful inside and very comfortable. Drinks are delicious and creatively designed. I've never said that before. The food was excellent! The GFC chicken was my favorite and my wife absolutely loved the black cod the most. Make sure you use the lime with the chicken to cut the burn! It works! The duck was delicious and wonderful when combined with the pickle and cabbage and in the bun dipped in the hoisin sauce. Fantastic old fashioned! The service was excellent! Thank you Gabriel! Special thanks to Devon and John for coming over to see how we were enjoying our first visit . It will not be our last!

Yelp
Pros- beautiful place and decor; nice drinks but sample size. The ceviche was also pretty good. The food itself was subpart. We also found a hair in the egg rice! They were nice about it and the manager came over, but still. Overall, even w/out the hair, not worth it at all.

Yelp
Place is beautiful, but the food is nothing out of this world. I was expecting way more for being one of Gordon's restaurants. It's my second experience in his restaurants in Miami and both were lacking a lot. At the end of the meal I asked for the soufflé and other 2 dessert s, the server never heard my soufflé request, and when I asked for it he mentioned that they sold out hours ago. He should have mentioned it when he brought us the dessert menu.

Yelp
Amazing. We went on new years eve and they had a dj. The atmosphere was so much fun and romantic. The drinks are amazing. We got the experiences journey and signature. Highly recommend it. Be ready to spend some money but highly worth it. The salmon was expectacular. The salmon tartare roll, melts in your mouth. We loved everything we had. The edamame was nothing to write home about but its expected as it is a simple appetizer. Would love to go back!

Yelp
Enjoying date night! This Chef Gordon Ramsay really has a promising future! @luckycatbygordonramsay was just spectacular- service by Rudy, ambiance and the food. Not a ton of vegan options but what they did have was just yummy- vegan sushi roll, cucumber salad and freshly grated wasabi! Dina loved everything she had - especially the tamarind cake.

Yelp
We had such a great experience here. Food was incredible. Jazmine was our server and she was an angel. Extremely helpful, patient, and kind. Hayden was also the best!!! Helped us get a table and was very personable. We felt really welcomed. Will be coming back. Definitely recommend

Yelp
So many other great restaurants in the neighborhood. Lucky cat is not one of them... would be surprised if they last more than another year. Everything that we received was terrible. Might be sick tomorrow from salmonella. Let's hope not.

Yelp
Man, I honestly don't even know where to start. I write this as a server myself at a very busy restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. This is long but it needs addressing. (The wait times I'm going to write are not exaggerated, sadly). I took my girlfriend here for a valentines dinner yesterday night. We were running a little behind because of Miami traffic so I try to call and let them know. I call 5 times with no answer. I wait on hold for 7 minutes and the line just disconnects. Great start lol We get there and nobody is to be found at the hostess stand for 5 minutes so I stand in in the middle of the dining room to get someone's attention (they just walk past me as if I'm invisible). Had I not made the reservation & if my girlfriend wasn't a Gordan Ramsey fanatic I would've just left at this point. But I did make the reservation and she is a fan so we patiently wait. Finally the hostess comes and tells us we can wait at the bar and grab a drink while we wait for a table. Sure no problem. The bartender asks what we'd like ( a mule & espresso martini).... Another 10 minutes passes and still no drink. Now our table is ready & we decide to just put the drink order in with the server since the bartender never put it in the system. It takes 15 minutes!!! To get greeted! That is absolutely insane! Honestly, for any restaurant it's unacceptable but especially when I'm spending hundreds of dollars. Again another 10 minutes to get the drinks we've know waited roughly 30 minutes for. Our server Rudy, didn't check up on us once. Not once in TWO HOURS!!!!!!!! Yes, in my disbelief we were there for two hours and this guy hadn't asked us once if we were good or if we'd even like another drink. This is all very simple & common service you can get at even the most basic mom & pop diner, just not here at Lucky Cat apparently. The restaurant wasn't packed, there were plenty of open tables around us and the tables that were occupied were all two tops (Dates for Valentine's Day) yet the service was nonexistent. Now, two hours & $300 later we finally get the bill. And it made sense to why our server Rudy never bothered to check on us. They put a 20% auto grat. He gets paid no matter what. Even at Hell's Kitchen it was a 18% auto grat and I tipped on top of that because the service was exceptional. I'm not a crab about my money, I'll spend it happily if the time I'm having is enjoyable and worth it. The food was good, I'll give it to the BOH. Props. But legitimately everything by else was not just underwhelming but it was frustrating & embarrassing for me.. especially considering it's a special day to make my girlfriend feel special. You could not pay me to come back here. This place needs either new management or a completely new staff. Everyone here seemed incompetent.
