"Lucky Envelope focuses on incorporating Asian flavors, and the resulting beers are excellent. Our favorite is their peanut butter stout, though you’ll also find a stellar raspberry sour, or a two-pepper pale ale made with habanero and Japanese shishitos. They also produce small-batch limited styles like mango lassi IPAs and cucumber gochugaru sours, as well as specials for Lunar New Year. "Okay, just one more from the Ballard brewery district and then we’ll move on (though seriously, the breweries here are impressive). Still, Lucky Envelope would stand out anywhere, and not just because the building is covered in gorgeous red and white zodiac-themed murals. The beer offerings here exude creativity thanks to Asian-inspired flavors and ingredients. Tired of the same-old IPAs? Just try Year of the Snake, brewed with tart pomegranate and hibiscus alongside citrus-flavored hops. Though if that’s a bit too off the beaten path, you can never go wrong with a beer like Karakuchi, a dry Japanese lager with a crisp, lightly bready body thanks to a combined rice and corn base." - Brianna Gunter

"Admit it: you miss playing cornhole while shotgunning beers on the lawn of that sketchy fraternity house in college. Lucky Envelope understands you. Their cornhole is on asphalt instead of grass, but their beers are infinitely better than warm Keystone Light. Make it here in time for a couple of sunset games before you hit the Ballard bars. Get the blood orange IPA, and bring some good snacks to picnic on in case there’s not a food truck parked in the lot." - aimee rizzo
"Lucky Envelope is one of the newer breweries in Ballard, and you’ll want to post up at one of the picnic tables here when it’s nice out. You can bring in food from home, but we suggest taking advantage of the rotating food trucks. We also suggest ruining your friendships over a couple rounds of cornhole.
