The Best Burgers in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"Hours: Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admittedly, Lucky’s is bare-bones — but for a true-to-form burger shack tucked in a somewhat neglected strip mall, that’s part of the charm. The black-and-white checkered floor, chrome chairs, and faded Chicago beef signs scattered across the walls all mark it as a classic, no-frills burger stop. The charbroiled burgers come stacked one, two, or three patties high, with toppings like jalapeños and green chile. Pair it with crinkle fries, a corn dog, chili cheese fries, or one of 15 shake and malt flavors — including coconut, pineapple, and brownie. It’s probably not the best burger in town, but it doesn’t need to be, especially when chased with a $3.19 fresh-squeezed lemonade that makes Phoenix summers just a little more bearable. Best for: A dirt-cheap, nostalgia-soaked burger-and-shake combo that punches above its paper-wrapped weight." - McConnell Quinn

Love when just scrolling Google Maps leads you to a wonderful experience! The burgers are so perfect and the toppings were fresh. The fries were crisp and had a good seasoning. The shakes are beyond words, with a great selection of flavors. Definitely a place to visit regularly (and they have regulars)!

Hole in the wall comfortable place to eat, hard seats, great prices, great specific food selection (burgers, fries, hot dog combinations, shakes), comfortable, quiet, and clean. They've been here since 2013, the owner was working, he was very professional and friendly. He cleaned up immediately after people left, keeps a tight clean ship. I know it's burgers & shakes, but I was in the mood for a regular hot dog, it was delicious. The fries are really good too - my meal was $11.55 total. The shake was separate, it was in the $5-$7 range (with a $1 tip included). Free refills, looked like Pepsi products - so Pepsi/Mountain Dew and others. Couple things to note- - There is no bathroom. - Hard seats, not padded. One suggestion- - The milkshake/malt shake straw could be a wider diameter, it's not wide enough to easily drink through. Ditch the normal straws and go for a slightly larger one and everyone will be happier.

Definitely 5 stars! This place was kind of a staple for us in Phoenix. The burgers are obviously very fresh, nothing too complicated, just quality ingredients. The fries are always the perfect amount of crispy. I'm from New Mexico and am something of a green chile snob, but I wasn't disappointed with their green chile burgers. I usually add bacon as well. I've also had the milkshakes and the fresh lemonade. Just try this place. The owners are great too, really hard workers. Recommend for sure👌🏼

Great hole in the wall style food but with big flavors and great customer service. The burgers are a thinner, wider patty that allows a larger bun to hold more ingredients and flavor. All beef hot dog was great too! I didn’t get a shake but they have a large variety of flavors and also freshly squeezed lemonade! I wish I would’ve discovered this place sooner!

Friendly and helpful staff (owners?) gave me a sample of their homemade thousand Island dressing, which I had no idea was made of ketchup and mayo. I miss my homeland's Utah's native delicacy fry sauce, so I was thrilled to get a side of the dressing for my fries. 😋 They told me they only use fresh strawberries in their shakes, so I had to get one of those too- delicious, thick, but drinkable. The burger tasted homemade in all the best ways, and the bacon was thick, wavy, and crispy (not like the flat soggy bacon lots of burger places use). I'll be back to try the BLT, grilled chicken sandwich, and Hot dogs with my family!

The food came out room temperature. Both the burger and fries were luke warm. I enjoyed the service, very friendly and efficient. I just wish the food came out hotter. Also, it's a small place, so get there kind of early. You aren't guaranteed to have a spot to sit down inside.

Craving a classic American comfort food experience? Look no further than Lucky’s Burgers and Shakes in Phoenix! With its welcoming ambiance, friendly service, and budget-friendly prices, Lucky’s has all the ingredients for a satisfying meal. Start your dining adventure with a refreshing glass of their freshly squeezed lemonade. It’s made right before your eyes using an old-fashioned press, ensuring a vibrant and tangy taste. For starters, the crispy corn dogs are a must-try, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. When it comes to the main event, their signature 1/3 lb cheeseburger with bacon and all the fixings is a crowd-pleaser. The juicy patty is sandwiched between a slightly sweet bun, creating a harmonious flavor combination. Don’t miss out on the chili cheese fries, a generous portion that’s perfect for sharing. And while we didn’t indulge in their delectable shakes this time, they definitely deserve a mention for future visits. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Lucky’s Burgers and Shakes is a gem that deserves a spot on your culinary map.

Small business that makes amazing food. Definitely a great choice for burgers and shakes. I’d be willing to call them a pillar of the community because the food was that good. Careful not to over indulge its amazing and delicious but you might end up in a food coma 🤣
