Google
Holy cow have you been to Lucy’s in Grand Rapids! Ranked one of the best 100 brunch places in America and for good reason! I had the huevos rancheros and the avocado smash was spectacular. The ladies all got amazing stuff too, including in house made donuts, scones, and breakfast biscuits. Wow! Oh and our server Lauren was super lovely!

Google
Very clearly, this is the best brunch place in West Michigan. Everything & everyone seems to really click here, producing exceptional fare and standout experiences. A rotation of playful & inventive specials and sweets punch up the solidly delicious menu mainstays, making each visit different and intriguing. Servers are thoughtful and conscientious, especially with dietary needs/preferences, while the kitchen staff is damn creative and great at cranking out amazing plates. Whether you're vegetarian or not, the vegan sausage will floor you and is a must-try. Thanks for being excellent, keep up the great work!

Google
Found this wonderful spot on our way up north! Our server recommended the Betta Bruschetta omelette and it was an A+! It included Boursin cheese and a balsamic drizzle! We also had the fresh fruit parfait. It was beautifully presented and delicious! If you’re driving through, be sure to stop by!

Google
Added our name to a waitlist on a Saturday - we were 20th in line, but it seemed to move quickly. We ordered Smash Burgers and Build Your Own Breakfast. Burgers were great and the breakfast was cooked to order, they have a handful of gluten free and vegetarian options too. Everyone was pleased with the food and we got a big chocolate chip cookie to go from the bakery. The service was friendly, but absent. When we were seated, we waited 15 min before anyone greeted us or took our drink orders. I assumed they had forgotten about our table and that feeling continued throughout the meal. Overall we had a nice brunch, seems like a good restaurant for families, friends, and couples.

Google
Food is amazing! Come hungry or intending to split, the portions are big. Sy’s pot pie was incredible good. The service is incredibly fast. The waitlist looks long but it goes pretty quick. Has to be one of the best breakfast spots in GR.

Google
The food was good and plentiful. The service was very accurate. The atmosphere is spacey and nicely set up so that with a lot of customers you can still have good conversations.

Google
Stopped by here with some friends, and it was definitely worth it! The place was bustling, but we got seated pretty quick, and they had a nice patio area as well. Service was quick and attentive, and the atmosphere was just right. I tried two things - the Creston Scramble and the Bread Pudding French Toast (Peach Cobbler), and my friends ordered the Lucy's Smash Burger and French Toast. The food was great, and very filling! The Creston Scramble was very flavorful, and the meat and potatoes really complemented the flavors together. The Bread Pudding French Toast was very rich and thick, and the Peach slices were a nice pairing to the rest of the dish. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast!

Google
This took 90 minutes to make?! I was really hopeful of this place...the pictures and reviews looked good. But our experience was a complete disaster on their part. The service was so slow and inattentive. We booked for 7 people and two high chairs and they sat us at a table with 6 chairs and no high chairs. Our party was left standing in the restaurant with our babies for 15 minutes waiting for our high chairs. My husband went to the front to ask for two. Then, when a coffee was set near our babies, it got knocked over and we were left to clean it up! Not to mention, our table ordered pancakes and salmon toast and we didn't get our food until 90 minutes later, when we had to leave! (They have a 90 minute limit on seats). So we left hungry, with our food packed. And I was expecting salmon locks with a full hard boiled egg! But no, how disappointing was this toast. We will not be back.

Yelp
I love everything about Lucy's: good atmosphere, great food, and always wonderful service. Breakfast poutine is my favorite, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Yelp
We went on Mother's Day and it was super busy as we expected. The staff was so patient and prompt. The food is always amazing!

Yelp
Food was delicious. We ordered the Asian salad, mushroom and build your own breakfast. Everything was tasty. The salad was savory with enough dressing. Just love the fresh veggies with a little peanut crunch and orange sweetness. Lindsey took care of us and she was wonderful. Checked on us, was friendly and professional. Place was big with outside seating. They have their own parking.

Yelp
Stopped into Lucy's this morning for a brunch with a couple of friends. Love the atmosphere here and variety of items on the menu. Our food did take a lot longer than expected. We sat in the outside patio area which was super cute and does allow dogs! Other than the wait, the food was delicious. I had the Creston Scramble and it was great. Would definitely order again.

Yelp
Lucy's - you have surpassed my brunch expectations. It was my first time and I already cannot wait to go back. I had no idea that they were listed in Yelp's top brunch places but I can totally see why. I had read a lot of reviews that there would be a wait but we came on a weekday around 10:45am and there was no wait. It was a perfect day to sit outside too. Sorry I do not have any pics to share but I hope my words alone would sway you to try it. It was an incredible brunch! The breakfast sandwich was unforgettable--sausage and cheesy eggs all stacked on a warm cheddar dill biscuit that was bursting with flavor. That biscuit was the star of the show! The breakfast potatoes were perfectly crispy and seasoned to perfection. I tried the mimosa and it was light and bubbly! Everything hit the spot. Great food, great vibe--I'll definitely be back! Our server was awesome! Quick service! I almost forgot that we had the deviled eggs for an appetizer! They were so rich! I loved the pickled red onion that was added to the dish. Overall - this place was amazing.

Yelp
This place is popular for breakfast so there's always a wait. I recommend joining the wait list on Yelp. I've heard great things about their breakfast so I was so excited to try it. I had their feature which was a bulgogi beef omelette with fried rice, stir fry veggies, kung pao sauce, sesame seeds and green onions. I've never had anything like that before and it was delicious! My friend got the build your own vegan breakfast and the chocolate chip pancakes. I hope we get lucky again to try the other options on the menu!

Yelp
Lucy's is a super popular brunch spot - it was even listed as #12 on Yelp's list of top brunch places in the US! This can mean long wait times, but they currently use the Yelp waitlist feature so you can add your name to the queue before you arrive. I've visited Lucy's many times over the years and have always enjoyed my experiences there. My most recent visit was on New Year's Eve morning and it was pretty busy, but my friend and I got seated right away and didn't have to use the waitlist. I ordered the Creston scramble (corned beef hash, Lucy's potatoes, white cheddar, pepper, onion, bechamel, and scrambled eggs served with toast) with a side salad, and my friend got the BYOB breakfast. Our food was served in a timely fashion and everything was hot and fresh. I loved the fresh salad and the simple vinaigrette. The Creston scramble was a big portion and tasty as leftovers the next day. My friend's BYOB breakfast looked so good - very simple but everything was cooked perfectly. Our server did mix up our checks a bit, but it wasn't really a big deal. Lucy's will stay a go-to spot for me, although I do wish they mixed up the menu a little for more variety. They have their own small parking lot, but it fills up quickly so be prepared to park on a nearby side street.

Yelp
Lucy's has officially been added to my regular list of rotating brunch/lunch spots. One of my new menu go-tos is the breakfast sandwich. Do not underestimate this option- it features their Cheddar Dill biscuit which is generously adorned with everything-bagel-seasoning and it's incredible. Their vegan sausage is so flavorful, and it has chili crunch aioli. *drool* My dining partners yesterday raved about their real meat sausage, saying it's some of the best they've had. Expect a pricier meal, though- my breakfast sandwich upgraded to vegan sausage (which comes with potatoes fyi) was $19, but it was super filling and I brought half of my sandwich home.

Yelp
Service: we started at the bar and the 2 female bartenders were so much fun! We had the breakfast shots and I had the Bloody Mary "the works' which came with the best small BLT sandwich. Food: food portions were big and delicious. I had the sausage and grits which was made perfectly. We also had the BYOB, Sy's Pot Pie (deconstructed shepherd's pie) and a meat lovers omelette. Ambiance: the restaurant is pretty big with some counter service, tables and booths. There is even a second level upstairs. The wait wasn't too long. Really awesome breakfast restaurant!! Totally recommend.

Yelp
Wonderful food, service and ambiance! Always a pleasure eating on the patio. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Stopped in for brunch on a weekend. The place was pretty full but we got a table right away. I think they also have an online waitlist so that is worth checking before you drive over. The service was very friendly and extremely fast. The food came out very quickly! I ordered the eggs Benedict which was pretty spot on for what you would expect. Nothing crazy, but a very solid dish overall. Make sure you ask for the hashbrowns crispy for a little extra crunch. The interior is very nicely done and it gives a feeling like you're actually in someone's home/kitchen. Overall, Lucy's is a solid breakfast/brunch spot with great prices, food, and atmosphere.

Yelp
I was looking for a breakfast spot to take my daughter and sit outside on a patio and Lucy's was exactly what we were looking for. I wish I joined the waitlist on Yelp before arriving since we had to wait for 20 minutes and they literally just have a tablet there to join on Yelp anyways. Our server was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The Chai Tea Latte was very good and perfect to enjoy outside. The kids classic breakfast was the exact same as the BYOB on the main menu. My daughter enjoyed hers and we brought the extras home for another meal. The prices are higher than an average diner but you're paying for higher quality and a nicer atmosphere. The parking was easy with 2 lots and free street parking. On the way out, we grabbed a donut from the glass case and my daughter loved it. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Lucy's is excellent, consistently. But it's not on my short list for a weekend breakfast or brunch only because it's so incredibly popular and I know there will be a wait. Joined the list online via Yelp and showed up at the restaurant to physically check in about 15 mins before the earlier time in the projected range of when my party would be sat. Waited for about an additional 10 mins and was promptly greeted and sat after the confirmation text that our table was ready. Our server was efficient and warm, and was able to take our complete order when coming to the table. The food came out quickly and was excellent, but real truth, the bacon roll is TOO GOOD. The stuff of dreams! I appreciate the way that Lucy's has streamlined their operation over the years. Parking can be a challenge, but I lucked out and with a small amount of patience, secured a spot in their adjacent lot.

Yelp
My spouse and I were back in Grand Rapids over the winter holidays to visit friends. We stopped by Lucy's for brunch. I've been here a few times since they opened and somehow, it appears that I've never written a review! Lucy's is one of my all-time favorite brunch places. The food is always perfectly prepared. The menu is interesting and has all of the favorites. On this visit, we took advantage of the waitlist feature, which meant we were seated within five minutes of our arrival. I appreciate it when busy spots offer a virtual queue. We dined with another couple, so a group of four. Everyone ordered something different and seemed to enjoy their meal. Our server, Lisa, deserves a special shout-out. One of our dining companions asked for a recommendation on which skillet to order. Lisa shared her personal favorite, complete with customization. It's awesome when a server knows the menu so well and has the confidence to share her special order.

Yelp
tasty brunch option! the breakfast pot pie i ordered was good but pretty heavy as a meal. i love the bakery section at lucy's! i wish i lived closer :)

Yelp
I heard that Lucy's had gotten on some list of best breakfast spots in the country and I was pretty skeptical. But man, they really know what they are doing. My chicken salad with cherries was outrageously delicious. Like, it had no business being that good. The peach cobbler bread pudding tasted like the best peach pie I have ever had. This has easily risen to top breakfast/brunch spot in GR on my list. Parking might be a bit of a hassle when it's a busy time, although lots of available seating inside and a gorgeous shaded patio. I'll be back v soon.
google avatar

Julie E.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch here! The food was a little pricey, but what isn't today? I had a hash and had great flavor and was plentiful. The drink was a bit strong, but admittedly I'm not a huge drinker. We sat outside so I don't have much to say about inside. I would go back in a heartbeat though!
google avatar

Gee R.

Yelp
Lucy's was just published to be on the list of top 12 breakfast spots in the entire US! Stop in and see why. The food is delectable and also reasonably priced. I got the egg sandwich and while very buttery, I enjoyed every bite. My friend got the vegan scramble as she swears it's "just the best!" Service on the is as good as it can get when the place is slammed. With that said, expect a wait if you come on a weekend. Weekdays the restaurant is more empty so if you want a quick in and out go during the week. If you can get a table outside, I'd recommend that as the restaurant gets echoey and noisy during the rush. Also the cronuts are only made on the weekends so if you don't wanna wait for a dine in meal, stop at the bakery counter and pick one up!!!!!!

Yelp
And just like that, Essence Restaurant Group (owner of Grove, Green Well, and Bistro Bella Vita) knocks it out of the park once again. They've got the best Italian in town. The best fine dining in town. The best lunch spot in town. And now, they're quickly cornering the best breakfast spot in town. Right off the bat, I'll say the ONLY aspect of Lucy's holding it back as a breakfast restaurant is the ambiance. I feel like I'm eating in a well decorated garage - concrete floors, cold industrial ceilings, and so much crowd echo that I could NEVER come here hungover (which, in my opinion, makes up approximately 65% of patrons for all breakfast joints). Breakfast has been, for me and many others, a comfort experience, which I think Lucy's might be lacking just a touch. Aside from that however, the food is delicious. . Breakfast is such an easy meal to prepare that I think a lot of restaurants kind of take eggs, potatoes and toast for granted. Not Lucy's. It's well crafted and seasoned head to toe. A tad pricy in my humble opinion, but you're getting a damn good (and damn well portioned) breakfast at one of the hottest joints in town. Everything is house made, which is to be expected from an Essence restaurant. And I mean Everything. The bread. The jam. The addicting bechamel sauce that goes well with every dish (order a side of it if it doesn't come on your plate and thank me later). Give Lucy's a shot if you're looking for the next level of breakfast food, and they're sure to deliver. Pro tip - get on the waitlist, as the place QUICKLY fills up after 10:00 on the weekends.

Yelp
Great food and amazing atmosphere. I was disappointed they didn't have the grits pictured so I tried the bruschetta omelette and so glad because it is so delicious! My family loves the expresso martinis. We always come here multiple times when I am in town.

Yelp
Golly gee! I've been here over a dozen times. I have brought people here from around the country. The food, the service, and the ambience never disappoint... especially in the outdoor patio during wonderful sunny days. Woof. I'll be back. I'm bringing the kids. I recommend you do too, but they're popular so plan ahead.

Yelp
Just a quick stop for a small bite to eat before starting my drive. All staff was friendly and quick with service. The ham & cheese croissant was beautiful! Gorgeous layers, flaky & soft texture, delicious buttery flavor and the perfect amount of ham/cheese. I ordered a scrambled egg that I stuffed in the air pockets and made a lil' croissant breakfast sandwich. :) Grabbed a fall donut on my way out for my daughter... all was good! Would like to come back to try more from the menu. Only negative is the lack of parking. I ended up parking around the block, but at least it was a nice day for a walk. Seemed spacious inside with lots of seating despite the small parking area.

Yelp
Food, drinks, and service were amazing. Wait time for the food was a bit long. Was a bit packed but I would definitely go back again.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Reservations recommended, this place is popular. I had the Spicy Hash with a side of corned beef hash. Both were very good. It's a lot of food so you might want to split the Spicy Hash with someone. The place is big and noisy. The service was good but our meals did take a while to arrive. The food makes it worth the lines.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Lucy's is really the premiere breakfast place in town! I recently met up with friends for brunch and was pleased with the delicious and relatively healthy-conscious options as well as having hazelnut coffee - which I assure you is even better than you imagine. My daughter refused to share her French toast, which is the ultimate testament to how good they were. And thankfully she had no interest in my spicy skillet because I also had no desire to share, though I could not finish in one sitting. The service was very friendly despite being VERY busy and I had a whole meal and to-go coffee to take with me on the road. An exceptionally good experience and value in one make Lucy's the right choice every time.
google avatar

Kyle A.

Yelp
This was my 2nd stop at Lucy's about 1.5 years after my first stop on the way from Indianapolis to Traverse City. This place is easy to access from the interstate and very much worth the effort! The atmosphere is charming, clean, mixed modern/industrial/mid-century. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is exceptionally executed. Nothing fancy this trip but everything was cooked perfect and the quiche ... oh man! Super flavorful and the light flakey crust just melts in your mouth. Will be back every trip up North!

Tiffany B.

Yelp
Great food, great service, the cinnamon rolls are amazing, so are the drinks and pastries. Perfect for dates, family and friends.
google avatar

Julie D.

Yelp
Lucy's is a family favorite! The service is outstanding and the ambience is cozy. With classic red brick walls and tall ceilings, we love Lucy's for brunch! Try the biscuits and gravy
google avatar

Tami A.

Yelp
The service was great but food took almost an hour , it was warm but not hot. The hash wasn't what was expected, it looked like it went through a meat grinder and this could be how some people like it but we weren't fond of it! The omelette also has a chipotle sauce on it that we weren't fond of either. Overall, we weren't impressed!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, great service and dog friendly. I'm in love with the weekly pancake specials.

Yelp
Everything is always phenomenal at Lucy's, it definitely deserves the title of best breakfast. Service is always timely and the interior is very comfortable and homey. Lucy's is always first place on my list of recommendations

Yelp
Service is always amazing, the food is so delicious and wonderful specials, and space is modern and comfortable.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Lucy's in Grand Rapids and we can't wait to go back and try more things! We joined the waitlist via Yelp and were seated right away upon arrival. When you walk in it is so bright and cheerful. The bakery looks phenomenal and we couldn't wait to grab things from there on our way out. Our server greeted us right away and grabbed our drink order and appetizer order. We were there for brunch and had to try the deviled eggs. I also had the Sweet Lucy espresso drink but subbed oat milk and no whipped cream. The deviled eggs were so tasty! They had a subtle spiciness to them. Also they had pickled onions on them that added a nice acidity and crunch to the eggs. I had the Creston scramble and it was SO good. The corned beef was perfect! Our server was great and made sure drinks were always filled. The Christmas decor was a nice touch. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. A great experience at the bakery as well. The cronuts were AMAZING. Wowowowowow!!
google avatar

Yelp
Lucys... where do I begin. What an array of entrees, beautiful food with beautiful people and beautiful smiles. Whether youre looking for a classic American breakfast or a progressive vegan option, aunt lucy has you covered. The only spot I draw the line? The water service. When my water is empty I would like it full. Does that make sense to you Lucy???
google avatar

Kassey T.

Yelp
Wow, how have I never been to this restaurant before?! There were so many incredible options, it was hard to choose what to order! I settled on the strawberries & cream latte (GIANT and yummy) and the breakfast pot pie with vegan sausage. It was so good, I had such a hard time stopping myself from eating it all (it's a large dish, I would have definitely been sick if I had the whole thing). The bacon roll was a fun and unique twist on a classic, and my family loved their orders of the chilaquiles and root veggie hash. Although there is plenty of seating, I strongly recommend joining the waitlist online.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
The food is 10 stars. The service is 10 stars. The vibe is 10 stars. I LOVE this place and their sourdough is the best I've ever had. So I bought some to take home.

Yelp
Food? Outstanding. Service? Excellent. Ambiance? Relaxing and conducive for conversation. We went there for brunch and the menu had so many great offerings. Our server, Alice, helped us with recommendations, which were spot on. Overall it was such a fine time, and I can't wait to go back and explore the menu further. Well done Lucy's, well done!!

Anthony C.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing. Wait was long but worth it for the quality of food. BUT we are eating for like 5-10 minutes and we had 3 different waiters ask us if we wanted boxes or to take care of our plates while we are stuffing our faces. Very apparent they wanted us to leave for some reason and a waiter actually put his hand on my plate without asking me if I was done despite still having some fries. I don't want to be dramatic but I had a great experience up until this point.
google avatar

Bradley T.

Yelp
Lucy's had a large menu with plenty of options our group wanted to try. I had the Spicy Hash and thought it was great, although the waffle it was served on was slightly sweet, which subtracted from the flavor profile for my preferences. The servings were MASSIVE. Our server was accommodating and knowledgeable, although it was hard to hear her at times due to the restaurant being quite full and noisy. We also thought the bar looked beautifully arranged and decorated. Unfortunately, two of the three of us found hairs in our dish. We did not notify the staff since I discovered mine after nearly finishing my dish. We also had to wait a long time for a seat, but this was due to use arriving at peak brunch hours on a Sunday. Take advantage of the waitlist on Yelp before arriving! I would definitely return and try other dishes in the future, and could easily see myself updating my rating to four stars.
google avatar

Victoria G.

Yelp
So soooo good, definitely worth the wait, we've been coming for the last couple months and the taste, drinks, and atmosphere is outstanding! I'll always steal bites from my husbands breakfast sandwich because I gotta have my steak and eggs
google avatar

Yelp
Busy place (always a good sign), great drink options, and savory food! Bakery items are to die for.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Lucy's. Definitely one of the best breakfast/brunch spots in Grand Rapids in my opinion. You can go on their wait list online which is nice because they can get pretty busy on weekends. They are great with allergies and super knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food they serve! They also have vegan/vegetarian options! They have a lot of seating and the aesthetic is very modern. Overall a super cool place. Their parking lot is pretty small but you can park on the side streets and walk a short distance as well. This particular visit I went for the creston skillet and it was amazing. I would order this a million times over. All cooked perfectly and everything in the skillet tasted great together. Served with a fresh side of toast. I also took a cinnamon roll to go. They have some of the best baked goods here. I would definitely recommend!! They also have a good handful of coffee drinks. I had a latte with caramel and almond milk. It was a huge glass and lasted me the whole meal. I have had a handful of their other items before and everything is always great.

Yelp
Lucy's So my last experience at Lucy's was not my absolute favorite - the chicken and waffles were incredible but everything else fell flat and the service wasn't great. I decided it give it another go because they were participating in restaurant week, offering 3 courses for $35. I'm glad I gave this place a second chance because it was beyond excellent. Service was great (the host had a really cool sweater) and the food was even better. I chose the breakfast poutine as the appetizer, steak and eggs for the main course, and a bacon roll for dessert. Breakfast poutine was certainly the best poutine I've tried and I'm craving it again. This was probably the best dish I tried there. They give you an absolutely massive portion, definitely enough for 2-3 people to share. Fries were crispy and crunchy even with all the gravy. The gravy itself was loaded with meat, they really didn't skimp on any part of this dish. I loved the pickled onion as a garnish, it added a really nice tang to the whole thing. Steak and eggs came topped with an interesting steak sauce. I always prefer my steak with no sauce but to my surprise I enjoyed this one a lot. It had a sweet and tangy flavor in addition to that classic steak sauce flavor. Just wish they would've asked me if I wanted any or wanted it on the side. The steak was a little bit fatty but cooked just right. Loved the potato, squash, and spinach too. Finally, a house-made bacon roll (not a cinnamon roll!!). It was topped with delicious icing and bacon bits. The roll itself was very flaky and crunchy, similar to baklava or the fruit tarts from Nantucket. Great balance of sweet and savory. One of the best dinners in recent memory! I'll definitely be coming back again.

Ed C.

Yelp
Like this place and always have great servers and good food. Today the servers were friendly and the food was good but it was a hour between placing our food order and being served. Clearly the addition of outdoor seating plus having the upstairs open over ran the kitchen's ability to keep up. Saw lots of heroics but individuals can't over come laws of physics. Came in happy, left grumpy and late for an event.

Yelp
Lucy's needs to be a must stop for breakfast lunch or dinner. Love the variety of options on the menu for both savory and sweet appetites. Our server was fantastic and offered great suggestions. I had the hot chicken and waffles and it was definitely one of the better ones I've had over the years. The right amount of spice. My son loved his kids cheeseburger. Need to come back and try their smash burger. I liked how they had essentially 2 spaces where one area had a bar and TVs while the other felt like a breakfast diner vibe.
google avatar

Joey N.

Yelp
I ordered the ribeye omelette and it was one of the best omelettes I've ever had. Highly recommend! Super nice staff as well.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorites! So many items to love --- but PLEASE BRING BACK THE HOMEADE JAM!!!! My go to meal is the root vegetable bowl which they have changed what's in it and you can tell you get less as of recent too. I get change is good but it has been a little disappointing every time I order now

Yelp
It was so warm on a late October day, and luckily Lucy's outdoor patio was still open! The patio is dog friendly. The interior seemed nice as well. I ordered a hot sugar-free vanilla latte with whole milk; it was standard but tasty. I also ordered the breakfast sandwich which was VERY filling for $17. The biscuit was impressive and unique; there was what looked like everything bagel seasoning on top, and the biscuit itself tasted more flavorful/herb-y than usual, possibly thyme as one of the main herbs. The egg omelette portion was significant and filled with cheese. It came with "Lucy's potatos" or hash browns for the side; at the recommendation of our waitress I got the Lucy's potatos but they really were not anything special, but not necessarily bad either. I just didn't understand why the waitress hyped them up. I would definitely return here since there were other items on the menu that sounded yummy!
