Where to Eat Cajun-Style Seafood in Boston | Eater Boston

"Loui Loui puts Louisiana seafood front and center, optimizing the shaked-in-a-bag route for mixing in all the spices. Guests get to choose their combination of seafood, pick sides, and select a seasoning from three options: butter with garlic, lemon pepper, or Louisiana-style, all with varying levels of spiciness. There are also soups, fried seafood, chicken tenders, and assorted sides like cole slaw and french fries. Loui Loui also has locations in Stoneham and Lowell, as well as one each in New Jersey, New York, and Georgia." - Dana Hatic

Nice atmosphere, real wood fireplace, buns are hardy. Seafood was good pasta sauce left a little to be desired stick more towards wood fired items like the pizza. Good Alcohol menu and hearty portions.

Lui Lui – Pizza, Pasta & a Padawan-Approved Punch of Flavor 🍕🌟 Hmmm… The Force is deliciously strong with this one. I ventured into Lui Lui seeking a bite and left with a full belly and a newfound respect for brick-oven mastery. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza was a Jedi-worthy creation—slightly spicy chicken, diavolo sauce, smoked mozzarella, and a crumbled gorgonzola finish that hit harder than a thermal detonator. The scallions added a refreshing touch that balanced out the heat like a well-trained Padawan. And for dessert? I gave in to the Sicilian Chocolate Mousse, a legendary treat that hasn’t changed in 25 years—because perfection, like Yoda’s wisdom, needs no tweaking. Rich, smooth, and forcefully decadent. A dark side temptation, indeed. Friendly crew, relaxed vibes, and a full menu of crave-worthy items. Whether you're in for pizza, pasta, or just a spoonful of mousse, this place is worth a hyperdrive detour. 🖖 Quick Guide for Hungry Travelers: 🔥 Wood-fired specialty pizzas 🍝 Fresh pasta & Italian entrees 🍫 Don’t skip the mousse. Seriously. 🧑‍🍳 Gluten-friendly options available 📲 Online ordering & takeout available Return, I shall. Eat well, you must.

This was my second time here. The first time I ordered pasta ( it was a little bland) so this time I went with buffalo chicken pizza. It was so delicious! All the ingredients were fresh including the blue cheese crumbles. It was a little cold in the restaurant though. The white sangria was delicious!

I've had Lui Lui several times through catering at different events and thought the food was awesome. Tonight, I was able to finally dine in. First let me stress I was with a large group so we expected slower than average service. But to everyone's delight, our server was right on point. They were courteous, professional with an awesome personality and super fast. Kudos to the kitchen staff that absolutely hit it out of the park! Thanks to everyone for a great family dinner!

Was my first time there with my friend who has been there many times. We really enjoyed it and the food was absolutely spectacular. The wait staff was great and attentive and friendly. We were only there for lunch but I'd like to go back sometime and have dinner there for sure!

My partner and I were looking for a place for our date night last night and initially we were going to go to Olive Garden down the street but however we are so glad that we decided to not stay for the long wait and slight unwelcoming experience and are so glad we gave Lui Lui a try instead. It was our first time going to Lui Lui and I thought that the food my partner and I had ordered last night were really good, well presented and tasty. All of the flavors were on point and authentic from the Caesar salad to the soup to our main entrees not to mention the mussels as a starter for an appetizer were delicious! The service were great as well, the person at the front desk were very welcoming in which in my opinion was a great start because I tend to start judging a place the way how I feel or being treated as soon as I come into a restaurant. Our waitress Makayla were very kind, efficient , and genuine. Our orders came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere was also great and calming although I think maybe a little music in the background would’ve been great too. We were seated in the lower lounge but however we had a really great first time experience there and highly recommend this place to whomever is reading this and will be sure to tell our families and friends about this place. We look forward to dining there again the next time we want great Italian food in our area.

Yelp
The bread was so warm, toasted and very fluffy. I loved the oil given for us to dip. We did have to look around for our waitress for more bread, that could be improved. My risotto was DELICIOUS, creamy, full of sauce and flavor, good amount of juicy chicken and large portion. However the mac and cheese was dry...lacked flavor.

Yelp
First of all Jake, I believe was his name was very attentive . I had the house salad which was good. My wife ordered the spaghetti and meat balls. The meatballs were "mesh" and the spaghetti was water logged. The sauce however was beyond terrible, I guess there are really no good Italian cooks in Nashua as Olive Garden might have been a better move and Olive Garden was just a level up from this, These Italian restaurants should make their sauces the way they would make them at home. Here it was as if it were poured from a ragu bottle, tasteless, no seasoning whatsoever. The bread was doughy and not like true Italian bread and the dip, well just forget it.

Yelp
Went for dinner for 4 on a Wednesday night. Nice selection of beer and cocktails. Service was friendly and attentive. Bread and oil was brought out quickly. Nice fluffy bread, but nothing special. Portions of pasta were large, but all the pasta dishes were slightly overcooked. Decent value for the portion sizes.

Yelp
The place is on Daniel Webster Highway in Nashua & I chose to dine at the bar and had a chicken Parmesan sandwich with fries & water. Only thing that I have a gripe about is that music selections & they choose garbage cuts. Food was okay but maybe they need a little help. Seriously though they have good service so that's a plus so other than that needs some help. And yes they also do wines/cocktails as well.

Madman M.

Yelp
Big old school italian restaurant in South Nashua. Able without a reservation to be seated quickly. Ordered the Italian Meatballs which were very good then for entrees the Lobster Ravioli & the Rigatoni w/Sausage & Spicy Peppers. Both entrees were delicious but on the latter.... it has a pretty strong kick. Our waitress was fantastic, friendly & attentive. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
The service was excellent. The eggplant was delicious. The Chicken Marsala was very good. The bruschetta was so good. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
The penne Diablo is the best thing on the menu! 10/10 recommend . The service is awesome and the rolls r super good

Yelp
Super Convenient Location, Seated Quickly, nice atmosphere, helpful service, great menu options, reasonable priced! What else can you ask for?!?!! Side note, if they had their table oil available in a 5 gallon size, we'd buy it!

Yelp
I hadn't been here for 4-5 years but at one point this was my go-to for pizza in the Nashua area and I was excited to return this weekend. The atmosphere is still nice, drinks are still good/strong, and the bread and oil is decent. Our margarita pizza came out extremely salty. Believe me, we like salt, but this tasted like someone threw a handful over the top of the pizza after coming out of the oven. We couldn't eat it which is unfortunate because it looked delicious. We told our waitress who offered to make us a new pizza "WITHOUT salt" (as if extra salt was listed as one of the ingredients that we should have known to ask to be omitted lol) Her tone suggested that she was aggravated with us when she had been very nice prior to this. Although I would have loved a new pizza, we didn't have time to wait for one and asked if we could send it back and removed from the bill. She agreed but had such an attitude about it, and proceeded to take 20 minutes to bring our check, and another 15 minutes to return our card. I don't know if she was worried about getting less of a tip or if she was getting crap from management or kitchen staff about losing the sale of a pizza, but I sure hope they all tried a slice of the one we were given and see how disgusting it was so they can improve.

Yelp
A few of us went to Lui Lui's recently, and we were all disappointed. My chicken piccatta dish was meh. It tasted a little weird - but I also haven't had it in a while, so maybe that's the briney taste? Way way too much pasta. I weighed it when I got home - 1.8 lbs! Maybe half that amount a bit more chicken? Another person's dish was cold. Another's was dry (chicken). The last person said his dish was just okay. The sampler appetizer was good. I liked the mozzarella sticks. I'd consider going back, but only for pizza.

Yelp
Not from here, and wanted Italian food, and Lui Lui was a great place to eat. The star of the show was the Sweat Pea and Bacon Risotto. Every dish tasted good, but the risotto stood out the most. Service was really good. The waitress was very patient with my group since it was our first time coming to this restaurant.

Erik B.

Yelp
Have been going to Lui Lui since the early 2000's. I generally enjoy the food. Lately however inconsistency is becoming apparent in the portion sizes and prep. Portion sizes are noticeably smaller. And to go orders are placed under a heat lamp that melts the plastic containers the sauce and food are packaged in. Not a good presentation to say the least. Brought this to their recently attention after the second time it happened and was told, yeah, that happens a lot, we've heard that before. When a restaurant tells you they know of a problem and don't choose to fix it, what else is occurring that you don't see in the kitchen? Hopefully ownership and management recognize and correct this and any other credible issues brought to them, otherwise this place could trend into irrelevance instead of being a go to.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
We did a lot of Lui Lui takeout at the beginning of Covid, it was always delicious! Last week I got to experience it in person and I couldn't be happier! The lunch prices are great and the pizza was fantastic! Will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Lunch with friends yesterday was a great experience. Our server, Emmy M, greeted us warmly and seated us at a comfortable booth - always a good beginning. Chicken parm was excellent, and generously portioned. The other choices were eggplant parm and spaghetti with meatballs. We were all in agreement: the food was perfect. Cannolis to go were delicious later. On-point service from Emmy M enhanced a most enjoyable lunch.

Yelp
Where is my napkin for all this drool?!?! on we started off with a perfect espresso martini, warm rolls and oil for dipping. Rolls were warm and so soft. Went with their special lunch menu and got the Lunch Bucatini that came with either soup or salad and I went with the vegetable chicken chowder. Husband got the lunch Spagetti Bolognese and had the sweet Italian sausage soup. All of it was 10/10 will have again! Service was so friendly and quick. Prices are on point with the portion size. For a lunch item we had lots left over for a late snack! We sat in the bar area downstairs that offers 3 tvs for sport watching fun. Perfect lunch spot for us on a Sunday Funday food adventure.

Skarlet B.

Yelp
Very unprofessional and uncaring I would not recommend this service. Food not good. And the customer service was awful but they are deaf

Justin K.

Yelp
Repeat customers, we went out on a Saturday night and got a special app, and the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and broccoli, it was a big portion enough for 2 of us to share. The server didn't offer the grated Parmesan right away which was disappointing. Overall the food was good and friendly service.

Giannina W.

Yelp
Ordered from doordash. Food was mediocre. Mozarella sticks barely had any mozzarella in them. We had missing items and they charged me an extra $5 because I asked for gluten free pasta in the special instructions. Food was extremely disappointing. Would not recommend

Yelp
Pretty awesome! Huge portions. 4 cheese lasagna was amazing. Inviting decor with bar area in the basement. Our server was pretty fantastic. Made good suggestions.

Yelp
Such a great place atmosphere and food was on point I got the chicken marsala. I usually eat mine with angel hair theirs is served with corkscrew pasta which I didn't hate just different the waitress was very good and I left full. This was my first visit in probably 10 years. Not sure why. I moved away from Nashua could be half the reason when I am in the area again it will definitely be on my radar to mangia

Yelp
It was all very okaaaayyy. The food was okay, atmosphere was okaaay, and the service was okaaaay. It was fine lunch! I didn't enjoy my cocktail, but my partner enjoyed his. All in all it was alright. I would probably go back.

Yelp
Good food and great customer service. I had an issue with my order and the waitress was professional and I believe it was the manager also came to apologize.

Yelp
This was my father's favorite restaurant, so when he passed away on 5/11/2024, it was decided to have the bereavement meal there. I contacted them via email and got very quick response from Eric. My next email (after having more details of the service times worked out) was answered by Samatha Martin. I met with her everything was discussed and BEFORE I even made it home (15 minutes from the restaurant) there was an email with all pertinent information as well as a detailed bill WAITING in my inbox!!i I am a 35-year veteran of the food service industry, and this is by far the swiftest turnaround time I have ever seen! The food was plentiful and excellent. The room was comfortable, and the bar setup of soft drinks, iced tea and iced coffee was very user friendly. There were lots of leftovers, which we were delighted to bag able to take with us. To- go containers& bags were plentiful. I regret to say that I do not remember the young woman's name who was the bartender that day, as well as overseeing our event. She was very attentive without being intrusive, worked with our time frame and was just genuinely nice!

Yelp
Family owned restaurant with great food, services, and drinks. Excellent personal feeling service in a well maintained dinning areas.

Yelp
Excellent service, very good food. We have been coming here for about fifteen years. The ambiance works for families couples. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great service! Came to New Hampshire from Texas and was looking for somewhere local to eat. They made us Texans feel at home! Mat was awesome!

Yelp
We've been going to the sister restaurant in West Lebanon for many years...a perfect stop when traveling. This location was mediocre at best...sub par ingredients and overcooked steak tips. Service was good

Yelp
This place could use some housekeeping. A dead fly, hair, and general dust on the front windowsill. The waitress and her trainee did a good job and quickly brought us some nice warm rolls and a plate with some heavily adulterated "Olive" oil. It's a good thing they sprinkled a minuscule amount of anonymous seasoning in it to obscure its canola oil "flavor". We ordered the "Italian" sampler. Although it was supposed to be a hot appetizer, it came on a cold plate so the apps were cold before we finished. Maybe it was the meatballs that chilled the plate because they were cold from the start. The marinara, Buffalo sauce, and miracle whip? slathered into plastic containers for the dip sauces provided us with a true Italian fast-food experience. We decided to share an order of Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo. Although the pasta seemed to be house-made, the "Alfredo" sauce tasted like some off-brand government cheese mornay, bland and uninspiring. Trying to cheap out on ingredients has never been a good way to get return customers!
google avatar

Edward J.

Yelp
It's edible and the service is OK. It's just the same old boring Italian dishes drowning in red sauce and cheese. Don't get too excited because it's not gourmet, it's just a carbon copy of every other place that serves the exact same dishes. What about reading a real Italian cookbook and having some specials? Try harder please.
google avatar

D. H.

Yelp
Food is good, service is above average, atmosphere is decent, but a little off if you get seated downstairs. My biggest gripe is the unwrapped straws. It's flat out unsanitary and feels like it should be a health code violation. The waitstaff's and bartender's hands touch dirty dishes, filthy menus, and money. Yet, those same hands grab an unwrapped straw, put it in a drink, and then our mouths touch the straw. It's pretty gross and I wish they'd stop that practice.

Nicolas R.

Yelp
Ohhhh lui lui how the tables have turned. Was told this was a spot to get good genuine Italian food oh was my friend wrong. The server Hayley was excellent took care of my table very well. Mozzarella sticks were good cheese pull 10/10. Everything else was just bad meatballs not edible, pasta under cooked chicken in the Alfredo looked pale, cool and diaphoretic. Bread u could throw at home base at least 50 mph. How is pasta tasting like Chinese food. Drinks good and strong just how I like them tho. :)
google avatar

Alice G.

Yelp
Very good pasta, great service. I have two critiques: the flies were out of control in the outdoor area last year, and the risotto is a little too rich. Otherwise, fantastic.
google avatar

Rachael G.

Yelp
Update: Came with a group for lunch on Sunday and their Chicken Caprese Risotto is my new favorite dish! WOW! It so creamy, cheesy and sinful tasting. You can order just a side of their risotto too which is also amazing but this is even better since they add more cheese and tomatoes, basil and chicken. Highly recommended. Everyone was also raving about their Caprese salad which is a nice portion and their sausage soup. Also had excellent service. We will keep coming back!
google avatar

Jose V.

Yelp
Had the award winning Caesar salad which is nothing out of the ordinary ordered the Chicken Marsala, never had it with macaroni before, very Anoying to get a mouthful with your fork, you'll definitely need a spoon for this, and the sauce very watery. Also had a beer which came out hot. Staff was friendly tho

Toby S.

Yelp
Order over $150 worth of food for my parents. When arrived missing large pizza and large calzone. Also ordered mussels and clams which was not clean and had no flavoring at all. Will not order again. Other than that Yelps customer service was great with issuing a refund for the 2 ordered items that weren't delivered.
google avatar

Summer S.

Yelp
Service was very good, waitress was very helpful and friendly. House red wine was delicious. Pizza was excellent, meatballs very good, other items "good." We would definitely order pizza again. Comfortable seating and ambiance
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Off the Daniel Webster Highway across from McDonald's. Parking shouldn't be a problem. We been here several times and never disappointed. Our waiter Patrishia was attentive, fast and very pleasant. Food was good , drinks was good. There's outside seating, inside has table space apart. Recommend this place to anyone. Looking for a place to have drinks and good food try this this place you won't be disappointed

Yelp
Our Order: 1 Large Cheese Pizza 2 Small Caesar Salads 1. THE PIZZA WAS SALTY. This was a MAJOR MAJOR issue for us -- After two bites, that's all you could taste. I've never experienced this in my life. Like someone accidently tripped and dumped a cup of salt into the sauce. It was so inedible we had to toss the whole pizza. 2. The small salads were MICRO salads. 4 bites and the salad was gone. At $7/Sm Salad ($14.00 Total) This is Outrageous! The garlic in the Caesar dressing is so overpowering -- i was tasking this for days. Despite being heavy with brushing of the teeth & mints. We decided after years of not coming here from other previous bad experiences -- to yet again give them another try and clearly we were only punishing ourselves by throwing our money away and driving the distance. $40.00 Down the drain We will never return.

Carlito S.

Yelp
Sat for more than 10 minutes without being acknowledged. Our "server" stood talking with other staff. When she approached the table there was no welcome, no sorry for the wait nothing. When asked if they had a certain beverage her response was "look at the menu". This is a first time we've had this lack of work ethic. Is the manager really willing to accept this lack of customer service??
google avatar

Julianne S.

Yelp
Service was great. Came at a slow time so it was quieter. Highly recommend the Crispy Arancini Bites for an appetizer! I ordered the Salerno pizza and it just wasn't to my liking but the other meals on the menu sound delicious. The bathroom door was also broken.

Ashley R.

Yelp
I like the lui lui pasta and chicken parmigiana, Parmesan risotto. Nice restaurant for families and kids
google avatar

Meg K.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place to us, and it did not disappoint! We got the lobster spinach fettuccine, the creamy steak and shells Gorgonzola, and the penne with sausage & spicy peppers. The creamy steak and shells gorgonzola was by far my favorite. The steak was cooked perfectly and the shells were creamy and delicious. The lobster spinach fettuccine was also incredibly delicious - it was recommended to us by our friend, and it was just as good as promised! I think I liked the penne the least, just because it was a bit too acidic and spicy for me, but it was tasty. Emily M. was a wonderful, attentive server, and made sure to accommodate for allergies. She truly made our dinner experience. The food is such a great deal. We'll be back!

Amy W.

Yelp
My kids and I had dinner at the Nashua Lui Lui last night. I could smell the fresh olive oil, wood burning, pizza aroma from the minute we walked in. The wood burning pizza oven was a delight to watch from our table. Our waitress was prompt greeting us. My daughter had the Chicken Alfredo which she devoured. My son had a large pepperoni pizza which he loved. I had the Lui Lui, a chicken, lemony, pasta delight. We will certainly be back again.
google avatar

Sherilyn A.

Yelp
their food is amazing!! and it's huge portions will feed a family of 2-4 easily. their bread and olive oil with seasoning in it is my absolute favorite part of the meal. Now I would've give. them a 5 star review however the person who packaged the olive oil didn't out any Italian herbs or seasoning it so it was fresh baked rolls and olive oil....I have olive oil at home. The herbs and seasoning make their olive oil special and really delicious. so please remember the herbs and seasoning in the olive oil next time please!!

Yelp
Loved the food. Staff super friendly. The butternut squash ravioli was excellent. I had the spaghetti & meatballs in meat sauce. It was so filling and satisfying. Thanks Lui Lui

Yelp
Food quality has sadly declined a lot since pre-pandemic. The risotto was so insanely heavy with sauce that I question if they taste it. You honestly couldn't make out individual rice grains until you cut into the top layer. It just doesn't need all that, they need to go back to simpler recipes. Kids didn't like the pizza and other pasta dishes were a mess. Imagine crafting a recipe for lasagna. Put aside if you go ricotta or béchamel sauce, and either way you balance out the ratio of sauce, cheese, pasta. Then you serve a slice and think "let's pour a gallon of extra sauce on this". Why? It makes no sense and ruins the dish, drowning out any sense of balance. Their chefs need to start tasting food and get back to quality. Stop slopping out dishes and take back some pride. Used to be a long time favorite of ours and I literally can't get my family to go back anymore.

Tara C.

Yelp
We have been visiting Lui Luis for over a decade. Today- terrible experience. Waitress was nice but seemed overwhelmed. Pizza was cold (definetly been sitting on counter, which we could see for awhile), slllllooooooowwww service. Went at an off time, mid afternoon, thinking we were safe from the lunch rush, not so much. sad to write this.... recommend to so many. Hoping a fluk.
