I’m originally from New Jersey and had just watched the movie Nonna‘s on Netflix, which was filmed at my favorite Italian restaurant of all time in Elizabeth New Jersey. So we walked in the door and the owner hugged me… Seated us at our table and brought me a really good red wine… It already felt like home! The bread was amazing, the salad was impeccable, and the veal and chicken Parmesan were out of this world… The sauce is made daily and everything was so fresh and tasty! We’ll go back again and again and again!

The best, authentic Italian food in Cape Coral & beyond! The owner, Luigi is awesome & his recipes & food are amazing. Every time we’re in town this is one of our first stops. Luigi doesn’t miss -everything from the food to drinks is 10/10! The waitress Samantha is awesome too!

Had a great dinner at Luigi Ristorante Italiano this evening! Friendly service and great food! The homemade limoncello was tasty! The tableside cheese wheel pasta with steak was delicious! Tiramisu was so light and tasty. And the fresh flowers on the table were beautiful.

Wonderful hidden gem of an Italian restaurant. The seafood special was phenomenal, the appetizers were amazing, and dessert is a must! Enjoyed a delicious dinner with family and would definitely come back. Mangiamo!

We came here and got seated immediately. The service was okay, and the food was great. The atmosphere was nice. The appetizers were nice and flavor-full. Some things to consider are that today, half of our table order the main course and the server did not put the orders in until the other half did 20 minutes later. The penne al vodka was amazing, it had rich flavors. I would 100% recommend that you try it. Also, the fish was raw and under cooked. Some things to keep in mind is that some dishes were not on the menu. The dessert was absolutely delicious. I loved the molten lava cake. Overall, I enjoyed the place and I might very much consider coming back.

I have no complaints. We ordered the Arugula salad and it was great! We ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and it was great! Spaghetti and meatballs was great also! Cannolis were also great! We had take out; next time, we dine in for the full experience. Five stars!

Google
Most amazing diner!! We had the veal shank and a ribeye dinner with pasta in the cheese wheel - loved it! Our server Samantha was the absolute best! You can tell she loves her work - serving others and she is not afraid to Make a Recommendation! She knows the menu inside and out! Luigi came to our table to sing Happy Birthday and he got the entire restaurant to join in! We also watched him filet and fish right at the table!

Yelp
Luigi Ristorante Italiano, Cape Coral Luigi Ristorante Italiano is a gem in Cape Coral, delivering an exceptional dining experience rooted in authentic Italian flavors. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The veal scallopine was exquisitely tender and infused with rich, balanced flavors. The seafood special was a showstopper--featuring an impressive 2 1/2 pound lobster, perfectly complemented by scallops, mussels, shrimp, and tender calamari--each bite a testament to fresh, high-quality ingredients prepared with skill. The eggplant parmesan was generously portioned, easily enough for two to share, and baked to perfection with layers of rich tomato sauce and melted cheese. With attentive service and a menu that offers both comforting classics and indulgent specialties, Luigi Ristorante Italiano is a must-visit for Italian cuisine lovers. Whether you're craving fresh seafood, a hearty pasta dish, or a classic Italian favorite, this restaurant delivers on taste and experience. Luigi has an impressive wine list and full bar! We were provided with amaretto and anisette digestifs and sparkling champagne as well!

Yelp
We had a party of 5 people. Three of us ordered the special sea food with lobster, calamari, clams and pasta. The lobster and calamari were very hard. It was like eating rubber. In addition, we never thought to ask the price for the special (yes, I know, very stupid of us not to ask) and we got a bill for $120 per plate. I would normally not complain if the meal had been good, but to get a bad meal priced for a fine dinning restaurant. It was too much. Needless to say, we will never go back to this place. To be fair, after complaining to manager over the phone, he discounted each meal from $120 to $90 per plate. Still high in my opinion for the quality of food that we got. The service overall was fine. It was just the price for the quality of food that was lacking.

Yelp
First the Italian food feeds my soul as well my body. Deliciously prepared food! You can taste the love Our waitress was the best with checking on our needs. The inside of the restaurant tables are set with cloth and cloth napkins and glassware. The walls are appropriately decorated with Italian landmarks. Pleasant dining room. Luigi, the owner is very friendly and awaits to offer the best in Italian food. I look forward to going soon. I have been there twice in four weeks and simply love it!

Yelp
Very welcoming atmosphere. The owner comes out to greet you. Our server, Samantha was great. Servings were exceptionally large. I had the diablo which could use a little more seasoning for my taste and it's a touch pricey for the Special which also could use alittle more flavor but was definitely a huge portion with a over size whole lobster included. You will not walk away hungry

Yelp
Everything was good We went night before Mothers Day So not to hit the crowds Wonderful ambiance! Owner so nice.

Yelp
Will never ever go to this restaurant again. I had called 2 days in advance to make reservations for a very special birthday celebration. To my surprise the restaurant was empty. That should have been a sign but we were seated. This review has nothing to do for the great service provided by Samantha (she was very professional). We ordered some appetizers, and a round of drinks. My husband had his 2 nd beer, I ordered a second drink and the my friend ( the one celebrating her birthday) only had 1 glass of wine. Then the server came out to our table and told us that the "owner" is refusing to serve us more drinks... Are you kidding me!!!! Is there a two drink minimum in this restaurant???? Well we're were so insulted. This has never ever happened to me. And the worst part is that he sent the poor server Samantha to tell us this... he just hid in the kitchen like a coward. Of course we left and headed to Point 57 right down the street - where we were treated so well and we had the best birthday celebration. I will tell everyone never to go here. Advice to the owner.... Learn how to treat good paying customers.

Yelp
A white cloth tablecloth and napkins and the music set the atmosphere for a nice Italian dinner. Waitress is polite and professional and quite the salesperson. She rattled off numerous specials and upsold us on a bottle of wine instead of two classes as well as the lobster special. Food was good but I felt the lobster special was very expensive for our neighborhood.

Yelp
I'm from New York, my parents were born in Italy. We just moved down to Cape Coral, so I'm happy to find an Italian restaurant that has authentic Italian food that tastes amazing!! Luigi is so welcoming and super nice , it just an amazing dinner every time!! Can't wait to bring all my friends here !! It's really a night out :)

Yelp
If you're looking for truly authentic Italian food, this is your place in Cape Coral. We appreciated the attentive service by the staff for laying out their specials for each course and providing suggestions for dishes. The meatballs were so fresh I could smell the herbs before my first bite. The Chicken Parmesan with it's marinara sauce was delicious and cheesy. Chicken Alfredo was good and fresh. The Limocello cake was a great surprise (and paired Wells with an Amaretto). Highly recommend!

Yelp
Service was over the top! The owner is incredibly kind. the pasta was delicious. the place is so cute and perfect for a date night.

Laura A.

Yelp
We entered around 5pm. Only one other couple there. The hostess took our drink order. She came back and read us the specials. Said the specials were the best meals. She said the special was a Sea food pasta, with lobsters, clams, mussels, shrimps. We thought that sounded good. We asked if we could share a plate. We order the calamari frites for an app and the sea food pasta as our entree. The calamari was over cooked and gummy. lack seasoning. the platter of sea food pasta came out on a platter. had 2 hugs lobster claws, mussels and clams surrounding the platter. Looked good. BUT... we noticed. all of the mussels and clams were empty. The shrimp way over cooked and the lobster was not eatable. It was over cooked gummy and no seasoning. it was $95 for the entree alone. The only thing we could eat was the angel food pasta. I would not recommend this place!..

Yelp
This is a diamond in the rough!! I've driven by this place many times and never really paid attention to it. We were invited to go there with some friends and was really surprised. We are originally from Long Island NY and have been in Cape Coral for over 6 years. We have been looking for that place that I would want to frequent. The food and service are exceptional. The owner greeted us when we arrived and came around to check on our table while we were eating. I have since been back 3 times and have not had a bad meal. I never have room for dessert but always find room for the Italian Coffee. After 6 years I have finally found that place!

Yelp
We had dinner for the first time at Luigi and it became one of our favorite Italian restaurants in our hometown of Cape Coral. We had their $9.00 pour of red wine a very generous pour. We went straight to the entrees since neither my wife or I can eat too much. My wife had an evening special chicken dish, two large pieces of white meat chicken with pistachios coating which she liked very much. I had a regular menu item Cappellini alla Frank Sinatra a dish with capellini with shrimp, fresh clams in shell Gaeta olives $29.95. I had mine in white clam sauce. We both had another meal with the left overs. Who we think was the owner, was on the patrons floor and was very engaged in service to the customers. We note that he made one of their special dishes of pasta made in a cheese wheel for one customer. We will have to try that the next time. We from the Ristorante warm and comfort table in the Italian way.

Yelp
It was my husband's birthday. It was SO good and we loved our waitress Samantha! She was so sweet and took time to talk to us and provided great service. My husband had the pasta they prepare in the Parmesan wheel and my neighbor and I both had the chicken parm. Everything was outstanding! We will be back to try other menu items (and will ask for Samantha!)

Yelp
Mediocre food and horrible service!! Rude! Was good when it was Moretti's. Waste of time and money!!

Yelp
Foru of us arrived for a birthday celebration. We ordered several "prepared tableside" dishes, one being the 'special' lobster. Dismal at best. The two of us who did not order 'special' items received their dishes at least 5 minutes before the 'special dishes' arrived. When the $100 lobster special arrived it was plopped down on a plate with no explanation. About 5-10 min later, the owner showed up to table side prepare and flame the lobster dish for a table next to us. One of our guests video'd the presentation, which was beautifully done... When we complained that we did not get the same treatment, the owner had the gall to say "well, you got the lobster and you just video'd the presentation, so what's your problem" To say the least our $400+ meal was disimal and have NO desire to return! Buyer beware and make sure you get what you pay for, we didn't!

Yelp
Hubby and I went here for date night. Service was excellent. They prepare the food right in front of you. Food was outstanding!!

Yelp
Menu is unique with traditional Italian flavors. Food fresh, plates were hot, and service was fast moving. If you can try their house made Amaretto as it sure is a great after dinner treat. Local place for a romantic or special night out.

Joni K.

Yelp
Clean and inviting! White tablecloths, so nice. Food was excellent, love the huge square plates! Our server was lacking though. She didn't seem to care about our comfort or needs. We seemed to be an imposition. Will return, hoping for different server because that was the only thing that marred our experience.

Mary S.

Yelp
Luigi was a perfect host! Good wine selection, excellent food, attentive staff (busser was very polite!) Watching Luigi's tableside filleting of dover sole was a special treat. Overall, a wonderful experience! But beware: The bill shows up with a cash total and a "non-cash" total. Be prepared to pay 4% more if you only bring a credit card. A nasty surprise for those of us who don't walk around with lots of cash. (Dinner for two with an app, 2 entrees and modest bottle of wine was $145 cash, $150 non-cash) Personally I think the credit card fee is the establishment's responsibility - the cost of doing business - and I don't typically frequent businesses who charge the fee to the customer.

Robert G.

Yelp
We dined here recently and sat in the back room. My wife ordered the cheese wheel pasta which was prepared in the kitchen. It was not the same as done table side. Service was also awful.

nikolas h.

Yelp
Was not pre-informed restaurant would be closed after placing a reservation. I had been expecting to come with my important date only to be met with disappointment.

Tom A.

Yelp
We love dining here, Luigi is very personable, his staff is caring and the food is always fabulous! This is a restaurant that is very reliable and consistent!

Jasmine B.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here for the first time. Amazing experience. Great food, great wine selection, great service. Loved the wholesome atmosphere in the restaurant. Definitely will be coming back!

William B.

Yelp
Dining at Luigi's was very good, ambiance and service excellent. However, after ordering the seafood special for the evening, which was not on the menu, we were stunned to receive the bill of $120.00 PER PERSON for each meal, not including drinks, taxes, and gratuity. We should have been informed of this outrageous cost of the price of this dish at the time of ordering. The total of our bill, including the two meals, two drinks, taxes, and gratuity, was $347.00.

Helen J.

Yelp
We are locals and came here to try Italian. We waited almost 20 minutes for the desserts, and when the chocolate lava cake finally came out, it was cold. It was supposed to have molten lava, but it didn't. If you're expecting timely food and quality, this place isn't worth it. Definitely not worth the money.

Chuck C.

Yelp
We had eaten at that location which was under a different owner and name. The food was OK, but not our favorite. This is the first time we've eaten there since the new owner took over and I have to say they have definitely upped the game. The servers were very good and the food was more than excellent. We were a party of three and all of us had nothing but glowing remarks regarding the experience. I very much recommend you try this restaurant.

Yelp
I visited the restaurnt for a baby shower and the staff was amazing! They were attentive and very responsive to the parties needs. The four course meals selected were tasty!

Yelp
The food is simply delicious! This is the first place since my trip to Italy that I feel like I am sitting in authentic Italian restaurant...delicious food, friendly staff and hovered over or rushed. This is our once a week spot from now on.

irene e.

Yelp
Food. Service. It's all really good. So when you get good and hungry head to Luigi for great meal.

Cheyenne T.

Yelp
Originally went here after a friend raved about it. Well, the food was not impressive for the price or in general. I couldve whipped up better at home, probably wouldve tasted better. Not to necessarily blame the waitress but she did mess up and bring the wrong thing out and forgot my drink. BUT, WORST OF ALL, the "buser" came and took my plate from me as i was finishing my pasta. Didnt ask if i was done. Just took it.

Louise R.

Yelp
Four of us dined at Moretti's a couple of days ago. It was not a busy night. Our server was Luigi who is also the owner of Moretti's One of us has a gluten-free diet which was happily accommodated. Our orders included an eggplant pasta dish, veal marsala (which was not on the menu but provided upon our request) and the grouper. The eggplant and the pasta were really good - tender and flavorful. The grouper was disappointingly overcooked and was sent back. Within minutes it was replaced by a salmon portion which was perfect. What made this evening memorable to us was the attention and good humour with which Luigi and his staff served us. We felt like special guests in his home. It was a delightful time and we will be returning.

Elaine S.

Yelp
Ordered a veal dish that supposed to be fried cutlet then baked. Both dishes were prepared wrong and barely cooked. The molten cake with a lava center was served frozen with frost burn and no heated center. Never again

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place!!! My daughter had been asking for the "cheese wheel pasta" forever!! We we had a special occasion to celebrate! Straight A's in her mid term report earns her pick of choice of restaurants and she chooses "the cheese wheel". I called ahead to confirm they did have it and was told "of course, every day". Well now I know why! They might be using the same wheel of cheese since they opened b/c there is nothing left in it!!! My daughter's pasta had NO flavor!! NONE! Moving on to my dish, it was described as "Cappelini Frank Sinatra" with fresh tomatoes, capers, shrimp clams! Sounds amazing right.... Well not so much!! Soupy bowl with 4 clams, 3 shrimp in a bowl of broth again with NO FLAVOR!! I requested pene instead of cappelini which was very easily accommodated. Once again NO FLAVOR!! I had to add dry chili flakes, salt, Pepper, tons of cheese to add some flavor! The server was great ( didn't get her name b/c she was so busy Mr Moretti took our order) poor thing! Our cheese wheel/bus boy was also lovely. He said only 6 months here from Cuba!! So he and the waitress were tipped WELL despite the shitty food. Maybe Moretti needs ti get back in the kitchen not acting waiter to make sure food has some flavor!!! Needless and sad to say, we won't be

Jodi H.

Yelp
Went here to celebrate my husband's birthday last night. The food was tremendous, the service exemplary and the atmosphere superb. I promise if you go you won't be disappointed.

Denise D.

Yelp
I really hesitated with putting this on here, but the more I thought about it, it needed to be said. We tried Luigi's on Del Prado after learning that Lucianos Too had closed. We had an excellent experience, and the food was exceptional. We were so excited that we asked 4 of our friends to join us this past weekend for dinner there again. The service to begin with was less than satisfactory, my husband and I split our meals and we ordered a caesar salad and our entree. Upon finishing my salad I recognized a large white object, about 2'x2" covered with dressing of course, that I could not stab with my fork, so thinking it was a fabulous piece of parmesan cheese I grabbed my knife to cut it, to no avail. I then, pushed my plate over to my friend and asked her what this was, and she replied, "that's a napkin". I immediately grabbed the plate and headed to the counter where our lack luster waitress tried to retrieve the plate after I asked if she could explain the napkin in my salad, she then pointed me to Luigi. Now, I was very calm, and simply asked how a napkin was mixed into my salad. He took the plate and offered to make me a new salad of which I graciously stated no thank you. I am not gonna lie I pretty much cost my appetite at that point as I thought about "the napkin" and how it got in my salad. During the time we were served our entrees, our service continued to get worse, not checking for refills on drinks, etc... the waitress brought our bills, and as she sets ours down she makes the comment, "Oh wait I will take the salad off your bill". Wow really? You did not think to do this? It left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended) , so upon exiting the restaurant, I nicely asked Luigi if I could speak with him. He proceeded to tell me in a firm manner that "things happen and restaurants are having hard times, I will not speak further and have a nice evening". Literally that was his response. Needless to say, there are plenty of good Italian restaurants in the area that I am sure we can patronize and hopefully have a bit more respect for the clientele. Luigis will not get my business nor my referral.

Yelp
Mom likes to complain about stuff but I tend to roll with it. Our late dinner at Moretti's was more of the same. Mom requested butter for the bread because she's not a fan of olive oil for dipping. We received little tubs of "butter spread" that were half butter and half not butter. Could we just have some real butter, please? No, they don't do that. But the bread was good. I chose a caesar salad to start and it was fresh lettuce though lots of dressing. Too much, though I still enjoyed it. For mains, I had the Veal Marsala. A good portion of veal under that pile of mushrooms. The sauce was flavorful though perhaps a little too sweet. Delicious though. Mom's Chicken Francaise had the required capers and lemon but it was in a very creamy sauce. She still managed to pick out the chicken and ate every bite. Our server was patient with Mom's complaints and did a great job of keeping our water refilled. I'm not sure if she forgot the salads on the check or simply comped them, either way she did not mention it. I'll return to Moretti's, but perhaps without Mom? [Review 10505 overall, 272 of 2019.]

Yelp
Came here again last night. I love this place. My daughter and I have come here several times after we're done shopping. Last night i had the Salmon special and each time before that, the salmon picatta. The fush is prepared perfectly and the sauce is light and perfect like it should be.
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and nice wine options...large portions too! We had the house-made burrata and bread, rigatoni with meat sauce, and sausage; yum! Highly recommend.

Kelly H.

Yelp
Their specialty is homemade pasta mixed with melted Parmesan? Cheese. The cheese is a huge cheese bowl that is melted and mixed at your table with the pasta. It is AWESOME. Everyone was very friendly and service was efficient. My only complaint: we asked the server if the above explained dish was big enough to share. She was a tiny thing and said she eats the whole thing herself. So based on that, we each ordered our own. Well, we probably could have shared one dish with four! The portion is HUGE. She should have been honest about that. Anyway, we left with leftovers. So just beware. Otherwise I would highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I recommend Moretti for authentic Italian Food. A small restaurant with the owner onsite and eagerly attentive to your needs. The mussels are always fresh and a big hit every time we go. You can't go wrong with any selection from their menu or any one of their daily specials. Don't miss trying out their homemade sangrias.

Arthur O.

Yelp
Exceptional experience, the Cape restaurants have some strong competition here. The food was amazing, cooked fresh nothing frozen, the blends of tase in the dish was spectacular. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, can't say enough. I eat out several times a week and reside in Cape Coral, Thank You for your service ! Extremely Pleased !

Edward Z.

Yelp
Very nice presentation All dishes were very good! Table settings were first class. Will return when back in town!

Yelp
I've been going to Moretti's since I was a teenager. And after nearly 15 years of visiting the Moretti's establishments they still never miss a beat. My Grandparents would always take us as kids and I would live for the mussels marinara, and they taste same way today as they did years ago! I recently came in for dinner and both the gnocchi scampi and the fettuccini del mare were fantastic! Cannot believe how consistent he has kept his place all these years. I know going in I'm going to get a quality meal! So happy about that! This is such a great place in Cape Coral!
google avatar

Billy M.

Yelp
Great service, great food , the owner was very accommodating. And introduced himself with recommendations off the menu. We will go back for Sure.

Tony S.

Yelp
Not sure why the bad reviews! I have been there 2 X in last couple of months! Food was absolutely ! From the calamari to the main course's! I had the cheese wheel with veggies on my last visit ( not sure of the Italian name) FANTASTIC! Do not let the bad reviews deter you! Go and give it a try! I know that the owners are new with in the last year it two, no more German food on the menu! The service was excellent, but slow at times do to it being busy and like so may places a little short staffed!

Underworld P.

Yelp
In to visit from Chicago for a week. Ordered 3 separate dishes and they were all absolutely delicious. Lots of places claim to be authentic, this place was really wonderful.
google avatar

Sandra T.

Yelp
This is the best Italian food we have ever had. My husband had the veal Parmesan with a side of fettuccini Alfredo. My dad had chicken Francese with grilled vegetables and I had the Corbina Francese with a side of spaghetti with bolognese sauce. Every noodle was cooked to perfection. The sauces were super fresh and seasoned expertly. The proteins were all cooked perfectly. The vegetables were firmly grilled and fresh and the bread was hot, chewy and freshly baked. The Francese sauce was so delicious and contained only the hearts of the artichoke, none of the chewy stem. The restaurant isn't super fancy, but the food is amazing. If perfect ambiance is your goal, maybe go elsewhere. If perfect Italian food is your goal, THIS is the place.

Yelp
Cape resident almost 5 yrs, initially eat here about 3 yrs ago HORRIBLE at best. A year or so ago I noticed the parking lot full of vehicles so I decided to see if the experience changed ? New ownership with a complete change in the preparation of the meals, a exceptional experience a 180 change, Kudos... I frequented the venue several other times and no disappointment, outstanding. Last week I went with some friends for dinner, the service staff was agiain very pleasant and the atmosphere inviting. I noticed the owner was the greeter/server and handled the kitchen, its his business not mine but seemed understaffed. Usually the food prep was about 25-30 min this time the meals arrived in just about 12 min. The meals were just ok nothing like before, while this part of the restuarant had about 40 guest a party of 6 enters with a stroller. They are seated in the middle of the restuarant, inside the stroller is a small poodle, I was as were most of the patrons flabbergasted. This was certainly not a service dog performing service, could have been an, emotional support animal. I'm an animal lover but this was outrageous, the restaurant has 2 separate dining areas the other of which was empty, the owner could have easily accommodated that party in the other section away from other guests or denied entry Well all this being reported I can only hope the restuarant owner reads this review and improves, get back to where you were because your business model is spiraling in the wrong direction. Unfortunately I probably won't entertain dinning there again for some time. Overall: Food portions ok, Taste - nothing special, pricing for somewhat high and service overall good.
