5-star ambience 5-star food 5-star service...hey' that's a solid 5-stars across the board. Little hole-in-the-wall side hallway lobster bar with fantastic food and amazingly friendly service, right inside my favorite shopping mall, Brickell City Center.
5-star ambience. The faux-divey rural hole-in-the-wall motif works surprisingly well in the middle of a futuristic shopping mall. It's away from the main traffic pattern of the mall, and even has quiet tables outside in the hallway. Parking at the BCC deck is pricey, and on-street parking?... fuggetaboutit in this neighborhood. This part of Brickell can also be a nightmarish traffic jam, especially on weekends. However, as a special bonus Luke's Lobster is right by the end of the hallway near the Metromover (suggestion: park elsewhere for free and take the Metromover right into the upper level of Brickell City Center, then walk 50 feet to Luke's).
5-star food. The star of this show is the lobster, but they have a small menu with a variety of other seafood. There's even a little chalkboard to tell you where the crustaceans came from (these ain't ya small little spiny Florida lobsters, papi : ) I've almost always gotten their lobster roll combo with some form of chowder and a drink. It's been perfect every time. Their prices aren't cheap, but seem fair, especially given the pricey real estate. Fun side note: our cat, little princess that she is, goes completely nuts over a tiny piece of lobster from here.
5-star service. Everyone who works here seems sweet, funny and helpful. For a relatively busy place in a high-traffic mall, they always add a little smile and a personal touch. There's never even a tiny hint of Miami 'tude. Small example: the most recent trip the staffer at the register had gotten extensions, and we had a long funny conversation about how to whip your new long curls back and forth for no good reason, other than to look like Diana Ross in concert.
