Luke's Lobster Midtown East

Came here for a quick lunch after visiting the United Nations not far away down the street🇺🇳 The lobster rolls combo was delicious and we enjoyed all three flavors. The bread outside was butter-coated and toasted nicely, and each loaded with a good amount of juicy and bouncy lobster meats.

The seafood is FRESH! I ordered the seafood roll flight. Each one was on a warm roll. The seafood was not warm but also not ice cold. There was a peppery seasoning sprinkled on each roll that I did not expect. The seasoning did not add, nor did it take away from the taste. I suggest not getting the seasoning without asking what it is. I also ordered the clam chowder. It did not taste as if it was cooked in-house, however, it was pretty good. Ask for it to be HOT, as mine was not as hot as I prefer. I ate inside the restaurant, which was very clean and spacious. It was a good meal, the seafood was definitely fresh, I'm glad it was not overly seasoned, nor was it salty. I'm definitely going back before I leave this short trip in NY. It was okay. I really wasn’t blown away. The lobster was meaty but wasn’t that flavorful. The brioche and lobster together was a bit too greasy. Restaurant was quite empty on a weekday around 7pm. Service was fine.

The food, service and atmosphere are ABSOLUTELY phenomenal! I had help from both Erving and James and I can't say enough about how helpful and kind they were. We are from out of town and always try to stop in a Luke's Lobster when we're near one and traveling and we were NOT DISSAPOINTED!! Do yourself a favor and stop in! You absolutely won't regret it!

Luke's Lobster in New York is absolutely amazing! My first experience with them made me fall in love with their food. The lobster rolls are incredibly delicious, and the buns are just perfect. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I was thoroughly impressed and can't wait to return. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great seafood! I visites them in Las Vegas 2 years in a row and they are.also perfect!

Their delivery options are amazing. We got the lobster, crab, and Maine scallops. Spectacular combo, I highly recommend for any event or a dinner with friends. Luke’s is famous for their lobster which is of course 10/10, but their connections with fisherman in Maine ensures that everything is fresh off the boat.

I wanted to go to this place for some time. Finally I had a seafood flight and lobster bisque for lunch. I enjoyed the bisque, but the flight came without fries or soft drinks. I paid more than $40 and I was still hungry.

Lobster is good! The lobster roll flight was great to try all of them. And now I know I want to come back for each of them! The guy who took my order too was genuinely kind. The prices are steep but honestly try finding quality lobster rolls for cheap.

Just what I expected of a Luke Lobster. Great bread and wonderful fresh lobster. The location is a little bit tricky to find.

It's been while since Covid Whenever I and my daughter visited NY, it was like a must place that we had to go and enjoy. Price went up but quality of foods was not like it used to be. Lobster was not that fresh and tasty. Disappointed big time

Funnily enough, the first time I went to Luke's Lobster was when I was in Boston. And then I found out that there were quite a few different locations in New York! I was excited to walk past this one when I was heading to a workout class, and kept it in mind. I ended up coming back to check it out. I came at a pretty empty time. The lobster rolls were good and tasty, and the staff were helpful. I think the food here is good, but as are all lobster rolls, it can cost quite a bit. Overall, would be back but wouldn't necessarily come often as I'm sure this would add up. Definitely check it out if you're in the area looking for lobster rolls.

Love that flavor $24 for 4oz of meat ,6oz for $36 bucks Personally I'm suggesting do not ordering , service is ordering from the counter,don't need to tipping . Nice decorations though

Let's address the crustacean in the room first - lobster rolls are delicious but not a great deal on a weight-to-price ratio basis. So on the rare occasion I indulge in one, I look for lots of fresh tender lobster meat with little or no filler. Thanks to Yelper Simon W's laudatory review Luke's had been on my list for a awhile, so I finally stopped in over a holiday weekend to try out the goods. I chose the 6 ounce lobster roll with no mayo and a side of poppy seed slaw (slaw carries a slight upcharge over free chips but worth it IMO), and a cup of New England clam chowder. The lobster roll was packed with lightly spiced tender meat nestled in a buttery narrow roll, really delicious. Slaw was tangy with a vinegar dressing, tasted healthy and fresh. The clam chowder was scrumptious too, just creamy enough with plenty of clams and veggies. The staff member who served me was very friendly and outgoing. If you're in the mood for an excellent lobster roll, Luke's definitely comes to mind. They also offer crab and shrimp rolls that come in a tasting trio but I stuck to the tried and true this time. Inside and outside seating available.

I've had Luke's a few times before and I thought their rolls were okay. This was my first time going in person and my first time having their truffle butter lobster roll. I ordered online for pick up and my order was ready ahead of the scheduled time. I was surprised to see the restaurant was completely empty at noon on a weekday, especially since this location is in the heart of midtown(I guess everyone is flocking to Cava and Naya). I ordered the 6 oz truffle butter lobster roll without mayo #teamconnecticutstyle. Last time I had a roll from here I thought the lobster tasted pretty bland. This time with the truffle butter, I definitely tasted a more rich flavor in the bun. Still not the best I've had but it was okay. I had considered trying the seasonal trio which includes three 2 oz mini rolls (Spicy honey butter, traditional lemon butter and truffle butter) but I played it safe today. When I opened my order, my first thought was how small the roll looked. Even though the lobster serving is true to the description, the tiny bun makes this feel more like a $30 snack than a lunch. You're definitely going to want a healthy side to make this a real meal. Luke's has two side options (potato chips and poppy coleslaw), so you can make a roll into a combo if you prefer. Overall, Luke's isn't my favorite lobster place, but as a matter of convenience, it's decent and the lobster portions are good. It would be nice if they changed the bun though.

The rolls are so good there ! Got the shrimp roll and it was so filling and the quantity and quality is amazing. The service was fast and friendly and the store was pretty clean.

Friendly and fast service. Lobster roll was delicious. It's buttery and flavorful but not slathered in a lot of dressing - just lobster and seasonings. However, the lobster was cold - as in refrigerator cold. Maybe that's the way it's always served? Not an expert. Tasty either way.

Excellent lobster roll with cape cod chips and a can of soda for $36. The roll was stuffed with sweet claw meat with not to much spice or mayo. Very polite efficient service Nice place to sit and eat. However, I won't be back very often - it's just too expensive for lunch.

As picky as I am with my lobster rolls and as picky as I am with who gets my money, where it goes and what for, you'd think my decision to splurge on a lobster roll would be reserved for my trips to Maine, but fun fact- I don't take trips to Maine! Anyway, as mentioned, I'm picky about my lobster rolls... that's not the right word.... I'm not picky I'm just noticing over time the decline in good lobster and the rapid pace at which it becomes more difficult to find lobster rolls that don't crash burn and suck. Luke's makes a good lobster roll, mine had little pieces of shells in it but I'm still glad I ate it; the day I went a graffiti artist was working outside and I stood in awe for a few minutes, grabbing her gram and discussing what it was for... I even came back when she had her little press conference suare (I dnno how to talk fancy so you can help me spell and edit S*Wah.ray) * soirée * I got another lobster roll at this time and it too had pieces of shell in it but tasted good. I like grabbing a blueberry soda, truffle butter if available, and a side of slaw.

Would you pay $34 for a six-ounce sandwich? Came here for lunch and ordered a $34 six ounce lobster roll and $10 clam chowder. Service is excellent, as it should be, as we were practically the only ones seated in the restaurant, on this gray rainy day. The lobster roll is about the size of a small hot dog, maybe six inches long. Filled with globs of lobster. None of this chopped up lobster spread out to fill up a sandwich. No extra filling to take up space in the sandwich. Six ounces of chunks of lobster right out of the shell, with a delicious seasoning. Unfortunately, I had to split it with the wife, who watched me carefully cut the roll in half, knowing that I would pick the larger half. The clam chowder was good, but nothing memorable. Good thing I didn't go out with Marianne W, otherwise we would be out another $34. And if you think a $34 six-ounce roll is extravagant, just try the $180 Wagyu beef sandwich which yelper Lori N tried at Don Wagyu 600 11th St in 2018!

Absolutely delicious!!! I love coming to Luke's. They never skimp on the lobster the pieces are always huge and cooked perfectly! The workers are always so wonderful no matter which location. The place had a very chill atmosphere with plenty of seating. Can't wait to come back

Had the large lobster roll by delivery and was not disappointed. The large chunks of meat were fresh, plentiful, and flavorful with the perfect amount of seasoning. I requested minimal butter and mayonnaise on the roll and it was prepared personally just right by a hospitable James at the GC location.

I seek Luke's out consistently. I love their lobster and Crab rolls to the death of me. The light seasoning on a toasted bun with drawn butter is enough to keep me hooked for life. I've tried their diy packs from Whole Foods but nothing compares to the actual store itself. Their lobster bisque and Maine sodas are always a great pair to the meal. Service is always pleasant and moderate in timing. Place is always clean but small. See ya soon Lukes!

Sooo good. I stopped here before heading to the airport one afternoon. It was so good. I had the seasonal sweet spicy honey flavor. It was Amazing. I also had the coleslaw. There coleslaw was Mayo free and was really good. The service was great too the staff was very knowledgeable. There are tables outside pushed back from the street it's a nice little spot.

I had the Sampler which came with one shrimp, one lobster, and one crab roll. I think the lobster was the best one. my son had the lobster mac & cheese with spicy honey lobster roll. Everything was amazing but that spicy honey lobster roll was the best I ever had. Highly recommend!!

This is classic lobster sandwich. My review on this Price is reasonable, Offer free chips, Amount of lobster is good. They offer free water drink too. Negative is sandwich is small if you wanna the fill in your belly. Value for money. Overall I recommend this place in New York

Outstanding lobster roll! I'm shocked that in NUC of all places you can get an authentic Maine style lobster roll. So fresh so sweet so tender! Grilled New England style roll. Perfect amount of mayonnaise. Possibly a little heavy on the celery salt but a wonderful flavor over all and did not detract even a slight bit. This may be the best lobster roll outside the state of Maine. I got the 6oz and would never do the 4oz. It's about a block from Grand Central so if you have time grab one for the train ride home! Definitely do not pass this one up if you get the chance to try them!

Full portions of sweet and fresh seafood. Definitely a must try! In my 4 days visit to Manhattan I came here 3x.

Best Lobster Roll in NYC! I've had many lobster rolls in this city and in Maine. Luke's really doesn't have a competitor in terms of lobster that is prepared perfectly, not a second overdone, seasoned lightly with Luke's seasoning, on a toasted lemon buttered bun, smeared with a hint of Mayo. The lobster itself keeps me coming back almost weekly. The quality and consistency of the food you get at Luke's, at all their NYC locations is remarkably top notch. While Luke's is seemingly staffed with great people at all their locations, I'm particularly enamored with the folks at this post given that they are always welcoming and go the extra mile to ensure my complete satisfaction. This is my new favorite location and I'm thrilled that they have added open hours on a Sunday again.

Is there anything like what I've tried here in the past. They've changed the dressing so it doesn't resemble the taste of a Maine lobster roll sandwich. Strange overpowering taste of oregano and flat spices. Truly disappointing. Especially for a $50 lunch. It's too bad because it looks like there's no central management or taste quality product control. Service was OK but it's essentially tasteless

After having the lobster roll from Luke's I crave it everyday! The best part is the buttery bread and the sauce they give. Also they have shrimp and crab rolls that I have to try! You can get all 3- lobster, shrimp and crab half rolls in their Trio option. They also have amazing clam chowder and seasonal lobster bisque that you cannot miss.! Highly recommend. Ps: The midtown location is gorgeous, the common area with tables and chairs is prefect for a nice sunny day!

I love the lobster roll here. I came to one of the locations before moving to NYC and honestly just fell in love with the lobster roll. I like that there's not too much mayo and I can actually see the lobster claw in my roll. I've had alot of lobster rolls in the city and most of them have fake meat or too much mayo or too many veggies. This one is legit. For $23 I think it is a solid lobster roll. Lobster mac and cheese was pretty good as well but not as flavorful as the lobster roll. I have tried the shrimp and crab roll before and would recommend the lobster roll. They have seating (show them vaccination proof). When I came they were a bit backed up but the staff was really nice! This location is really close to grand central. I have also ordered online to to gift my friend lobster roll kits and they loved it!

So good we ended up getting 2 extra rolls to go for a midnight meal! Definitely ask for the rolls heated up!

I come here for lunch every week and it never disappoints. The lobster is fresh and they provide the perfect amount. Love the lobster trio and the lobster Mac topped with extra truffle butter lobster is chefs kiss! The staff is extremely kind and the space itself is small but it works. It's definitely pricey and I wouldn't eat here everyday but it's a nice weekly treat!

Luke's Lobster hands down is my favorite lobster roll spot in Manhattan! Ordered delivery for lunch for the first time form this location and it was absolutely delicious. So much lobster in this roll, what else could you ask for! If you are a lobster roll fan, you must try Luke's.

Food, ambiance and service were good...but this is expected. A bit pricey but overall worth it... EXCEPT...when I pay and you put in my face the screen with 18%, 20% xx%...and I give in...that simple act makes me not want to come back...tip for what???...only reason is to subsidize the owner!!!...Never again!

We had the lobster roll trio which was a great choice! There were three little mini lobster rolls, each with a different flavor. Wifey liked the truffle, I liked the classic, and we both liked the spicy honey tinged one. We also ordered clam chowder which was New England style. To me it was just OK, but I grew up with a really kick ass clam chowder that my mom used to make. I'm really biased. Definitely will go back to this place.

When out east, you need to try a lobster roll! Luke's will not disappoint! Toasted roll, warm lobster, special seasoning! Delicious! The Blueberry lemonade was also a hit!

Couldn't decide. Got the trio. So happy I did. I ate all of it. Everything. In one sitting!! I never eat that much at once, but mannnn was it worth it!!! The clam chowder was everything I needed and more. Happy camper over here!!!

Have passed by so many times we finally decided to stop in. We each had the combo. I really wanted to like it but it fell short for me. Im comparing the lobster rolls to Lunch, The Smith and Citifield's Catch of the Day. They're all better than Lukes IMHO. The staff is very friendly. The space is clean. Won't go back because I didn't like any of the rolls. At least we finally tried it.

A quick bite navigating NYC at Luke's was perfect. The service was quick and friendly, the lobster roll was perfectly executed and my son and I were able to rest our feet, out of the currently smoky City in an air conditioned spot for a bit. I've had lobster rolls in Maine and they're amazing...this was one was very good!

Stopped in for a quick lunch before heading to the airport. Last meal in NYC before heading home and it did not disappoint. My wife and son shared the trio and a cup of clam chowder and I had the trio and lobster bisque. To me, the best deal on the menu is this combo. You get half a lobster roll, half a crab roll and half a shrimp roll. I can't tell you what order to eat them as they were all very good. There are no fillers and extra stuff to cut down on the meat. It is just pure meat, great seasoning and a buttered and toasted soft roll. There is just enough bread to serve its purpose and you get the full flavor of the meats. I asked for a little mayo and rubbed the amount I wanted on my roll. Finally, the soups. Both the chowder and the bisque were very flavorful. As far as value, I have to say it is pretty pricey. And for the price point here, I don't expect to see as much pincher meat in the lobster. In fact, it should be a rare sighting. I like that they use sustainable and traceable shellfish. All and all, would go back.

I finally was able to book a meal with Luke's Lobster using mealpal. Been to other locations for the lobster rolls but this is my first time at this location. The meal of the day is a shrimp roll. It's full with shrimp in a buttered roll with mayo, lemon butter and seasoning. The ratio of shrimp to bun is good. Overall it was good meal though a bit small so you might need to supplement with a soup or salad. Luckily I had something else to tie my over. When you are near the end of the bun, the shrimps can easily fall out of the bun so be aware. You might want to use the box as a tray so you don't lose any of this deliciousness. When you walk a short hallway with tables on the side before the space opens up to the counter. My meal was ready and I was on my way. Hope to come back to eat the lobster roll.

I've been to Luke's locations in NYC and Las Vegas. The first time I came to this location I remember having a fantastic experience, but this most recent visit over the weekend was quite disappointing. Had the new jumbo lobster roll option with truffle butter. I like the truffle butter though my girlfriend didn't like the smell. Issue with both her and my orders was that the lobster wasn't very sweet with too much of the nasty claw meat. Maybe someone likes the taste and texture of the claw but definitely not us. The lobster bisque as part of the combo I purchased was far better than the roll.

I enjoyed a delicious Lobster Roll & Lobster Bisque at Luke's Lobster. It was the perfect combo. Service was quick and the staff was great. If your are a seafood lover then you will enjoy it.

I've stopped by Luke's in Boston and also now in NYC. Great, solid lobster at average prices ($15+). The lobster is served on a bread roll and it is SUPER AMAZING DELICIOUS. My heart still yearns for lobster as I look at the pictures and recall how delicious they were. I'm feeling regrets that I didn't eat more than one. Sure, you can probably eat two, they are so easy to inhale. We didn't have to wait at this location and the staff was very friendly. Seating is limited as there's only a few tables. This place is consistently good, there's no question about it! I had some of the Blueberry lemonade to go with it, but no need for sides. The lemonade was okay, a little on the sour side - I'd probably skip it next time unless you are looking for a light non-alcoholic drink.

I have been here a couple of times. Friendly staff and they even brought my food out to the terrace. One of my favorite parts about this location is the terrace outside with the beautiful waterfall on the wall. It gives it a really nice vibe. And of course the lobster roll was amazing. Sandwich shop located in Midtown East. The shop is famous for the lobster roll. It was smaller than I thought it would be and pretty pricey. However it was delicious. For a few extra dollars you can add a side and drink.

i'm visiting new york and stopped by luke's lobster. i tried the luke's trio, which came with a 1/2 of a shrimp, crab, and lobster roll, and all of the sandwiches were very good. although, the lobster filling was my favorite ! the bread was also toasted to perfection with a nice buttery sauce on the chilled shrimp, crab, and lobster.

This Midtown East outpost is par for the course for Luke's Lobsters-- great but tiny lobster rolls. Bun is always buttery and toasted, meat is always fresh. There's a good amount of claw meat in it but I personally like the texture. It's not my favorite roll of all time, but it's quite good for New York. Upsizing is the move here for me, but the combos will also work to fill you up. I've gotten delivery from this location (and yes, I feel ridiculous having one single lobster roll delivered) and it's always been accurate to, or slightly faster than, the time estimate.

Was absolutely delicious. Coming up to New York I thought I should try this place based off other reviews and yum! You need to go experience for yourself.
