Yelp
The place: Two story building with nice patio which is the best people watching corner in this tourist town. Parking is free in town, and this place on weekends can be crowded. Tables on second floor only open during busiest times. Bathroom are clean and even the manager sometimes wiped down the counters. They have two songs in rotations on repeat. Last year, it was Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake.
The vibe: Mixed crowd with lots of local business people, conventioneers, vacationers, and an occasional drag queen! lol. Don't see too many little kids. Noise level varies Tables in front with booths in back. .
The food - mostly fantastic but they really shine during lunch and dinner, with salmon, fried chicken, steak, pasta, salads, chicken pot pie my favorites. Also love their desserts including tiramisu and they even have a giant cotton candy bowl. Weekends have the best deal with their starter and dessert with main course.
Service: Generally good, depends how crowded the place is. When there are lots of large parties, it can be slower but never too slow. They bring water immediately to the table and the wait person takes your drink order/. The servers wear white shirt and ties and are polite and friendly.
Drinks: full bar including weekend champagne brunch special
I try to visit Palm Springs 2-3 times a year. My favorite tourist spot in the area is the Living Desert, a zoo with much larger and more natural enclosures half hour away from Lulu's. I always stop here for lunch. Friends and I try to go after the peak hours when there is always patio tables available which is a great people watching spot. I've seen drunk tourists in a self propelled open top vehicle driving by and cheering loudly. Classic cars can be seen and have seen people in costumes, but mostly normal people from all over. Winter can be busy because the snowbirds often escape the cold and come to Palm Springs.
This last visit, I had the fried chicken which was one leg, one thing, and breast served crispy and hot and nicely seasoned, served with fluffy mashed potatoes, gravy, and asparagus. My friend had the salmon with asparagus. I have really enjoyed everything that I have tried. I had a glass of champagne for $8.00. No dessert this time because I was happy and full. But in the past, I've had many of their desserts and all were good.
By the way, this place was rated the best brunch in Palm Springs.
