Four Meals Worth a Road Trip This Fall | Eater Boston

"At the Nevada Hotel in York — a historic property whose architecture is modeled on the WWII USS Nevada and which opened over the summer — I enjoyed a playful ‘Maine meets the Pacific Islands’ menu that leans on local ingredients. Standouts include a cheesy lobster rangoon dip, a curry of local shrimp with coconut rice, and a house fried rice studded with broccolini, scallions and other vegetables in a sesame-soy sauce (highly recommended with crispy house-made spam). Daily-changing ceviches, plenty of vegan and veggie options like jackfruit tacos in a Kahlua barbecue sauce, and tropical cocktails such as the Bird of Paradise (bourbon, allspice dram, and fresh juices) round out the experience." - Nathan Tavares

Incredible hospitality and staff. The manager there, Andy, went above and beyond for my mom and I when we visited and really made the whole experience. We had an incredible table with a view of the ocean, a heat lamp was turned on once the sun set, and we were sent out the door with an ube cake, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. Very grateful for his kindness and for the night we had because of it.

We have stayed at all their locations many many times. We have never been so disrespected as we were this evening. There was even another customer at the bar who couldn’t believe it as he watched the whole situation. We had asked the host to seat us not once not twice but three different times and she totally blew us off because we said we’re only wanted some cocktails before we went up to our room. Yes our room that we’re staying at for the millionth time after eating at Stonesthrow and being treated perfectly as you should so I am not sure what her issue is. But we gave her the benefit of the doubt three different occasions were nothing but nice to her all three times. Also, we were tipping their employees almost 40% all day. There was plenty of tables for her to see us at. We have done nothing but praise all four locations nonstop for years but after the way we were treated tonight I don’t even know if we will come back.

10/10 experience. Food is as incredible as it is unique. Got the daily special oysters (Maine blueberry mignonette), salmon yaki onigiri (a crispy rice cake with raw salmon and insane flavors), and Al pastor tacos. Tiki drinks were delicious, food was superb. Got a last minute deal to stay at the Nevada hotel and walking from our balcony to the restaurant was a genuine treat. The Salmon Yaki Onigiri was one of the best things my wife and I have ever had. Highly recommend.

Incredible lunch spot. Great service, interesting menu options, and vibes! Strongly recommend to all vegetarians. Under the same great ownership as Stone’s Throw

Come for the views, stay for the food, don’t go all-in on the drinks. The views are what draw you in and yep, they deliver! The food, so good! Awesome vegan and vegetarian options, highly recommend the tofu “spam”. The drinks are decent but are just a little too juicy and not worth the price just yet. I know it’s still a new place so I won’t give up on the drinks just yet.

Great restaurant with an amazing view and unique dishes. Started out with the Watermelon Crudo which was ridiculously good. Also had the Spam Fried Rice which was incredible.

A word to the wise: The Lulu breakfast says it comes with “smashed and fried new potatoes” but they are definitely just boiled and smashed and unseasoned at that. If you are a crispy potato fan, be warned. These potatoes were very sad. When I asked if they could toss them in the deep fryer the waiter said they couldn’t do anything for me. 🙄
