Today was my second meal here. The first was dinner in April of '25, and was absolutely perfect in every way. The woman served us in particular was amazing. The second was this morning for brunch. Our first issue was that the music was SO loud and distracting. I'll never understand how restaurants (particularly high-end restaurants) don't understand that you shouldn't play music with vocals and a heavy drum beat, particularly at noon. The best experiences we've had at fine restaurants (including Michelin-star restaurants) always include an ambiance of soft instrumental music so that it doesn't compete with conversation.
We asked once for it to be turned down, which they did, but a short while later it was turned back up. I find it hard to believe that any guest would make such a request. About 20 minutes later, it was turned down again, presumably because someone else complained. Then a short while later it went back up. It was so hard to hear (and I am not an old person nor do I have issues hearing in crowded spaces). It made the ambience unpleasant.
Then the service was extremely slow, but we were ok with that and were having a nice time. The drinks and food were excellent. The Zeppole were perfectly cooked, and the strawberry-rhubarb jam was full of flavor.
I had the quiche, which was light as a cloud, with a wonderful, flaky crust.
Our waiter was very attentive until we received our main course, then disappeared. We were finished for about 20 minutes looking around for him before we finally stopped another server to ask that he find him for us. He apologized and said something about being the “dish pit.” He apologized to the people next to us as well. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable, but at a restaurant like this, you just need to look over once in a while to see if the guests are finished and just looking around (we don't require someone at the table constantly).
So all in all, the food was excellent, but the service and the ambiance made it such that we will probably not be back. Eating at a fine dining restaurant is a package deal. The chefs are clearly doing their part. But the atmosphere is part of the experience, and sadly, was a disappointment.
If you have a chance to go to the rooftop, the view is spectacular. They have three different areas facing different directions to choose from.
