A Clovis classic since 1969, Luna is still family-run and beloved for its scratch sauces, handmade meatballs, and retro Old Town dining room. Recognized by local publications over decades, it remains a go-to for red-sauce comfort that feels distinctly Clovis.

Luna Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant

Google
My dish was okay. Very reasonable. Overall the restaurant is very dark and dirty. If the front house is unkempt, I would hate to see the kitchen. The pasta sauce was very sour and bitter, I'm glad we got it on the side. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. But clean your restaurant. The owners should reevaluate their managers. These simple tasks should not be overlooked.

Luna’s is on the favorite list of places to go to dinner. It is hard to decide what to have because everything is so yummy! My husband had the pizza and I chose the 1/2 plate of spaghetti and lasagne.

Erin D.

Google
Had the Luna's Special pizza and a medium antipasto salad with the house Italian dressing. The salad was delicious - loaded with cheese, pepperoni and salami with a very tasty dressing. The pizza wasn't anything to get excited about for me. The crust was too thick and chewy, and I couldn't taste the sauce, and those two elements make or break a pizza. I will give credit for all the cheese that was on it, though. Our waitress was really nice and accommodated our request to be moved to a regular sized table after being sat at a very small bench seat. The only thing that raised eyebrows for us is when my husband noticed someone in the kitchen (assumed manager) tearing into a couple of waitresses - he didn't think that was too nice.

Google
Dinner was very good. Wife angel hair with shrimp was decent, kinda bland. I had Pete's special, spicy tons of sauce, sausage and cheese! Shrimp alfredo was on pointbas well. Service is top notch and always great portions!

Google
We had a great time at Luna. it was loud and very enjoyable. food was solid 👌. Chicken marsala, calzone special, chicken alfredo and lasagna. 🍞 🍲 🥗 🔥.

Mia D.

Google
We got 3 different entrees/meals. A spaghetti marinara sauce, fettuccine alfredo with chicken, and a large veggie and chicken pizza. My daughter stated that the marinara spaghetti was bland. I have to agree that my fettuccine Alfredo was very bland. I utilized salt and pepper to attempt to give it some life. the chicken had good flavor and it's only saving grace. My husband did not like the creaminess of the cheese that was on the Pizza and it didn't hold up for an evening meal. Felt like a waste of money....sorry yall but we wont be back. The servers were kind enough and Able to respond to questions regarding the menu. The restaurant was older and had character but lighting could use some help as it made the wall colors look a really uncomfortable yellow smoker stained color. Cant be unseen

Google
I had not been to Luna’s in years, went a couple weeks ago and was very disappointed. It’s an old building with a lot of character but the character is diminished by pour lighting and years of what feels like neglect. The food is ok but not like I remembered it and the service was mediocre at best. Also parking in old town Clovis has become more and more of a challenge as time has gone by and it’s not getting better.

Google
Prices wasn't that bad for the quality of food. Was a little dark of a setting for my taste and decor was a little dated. Food was good for a non chian restaurant I will say. Also got cold complementary bread to start with and waitress was a little pushy.

Yelp
Makes me sad that "change" is not always a plus for the consumer. We've been enjoying Luna's since we moved to Clovis in June 1999. The friendly atmosphere from our walk-in was always consistent. The owner was always up front, talking and enjoying his cronies at the bar. Food was always "hot" & delicious and no extra add on costs for a little extra sauce, etc. Wait service is still good, but there are no familiar faces anymore.

Yelp
This place is such a classic spot, delicious and amazing service. The staff is always so friendly, kind and attentive to your needs. Food was amazing as usual, huge portions with great prices. Their calzones alone are amazing and huge. We would highly recommend this place for a lunch spot or a family night out with the family. Wear your comfy pants!

Yelp
Been going to Luna's for 20+ years and it's has vastly gone down hill. Food has no taste, under cooked and service is horrible. Called in a family meal at 4:25 PM and requested a 5:15 PM pick up. Showed up at 5:15 PM and they could not find my order, came back and said it was never put in and it would be another 10 minutes. Did not get our order till 5:40 PM, no apologies, no one checked in during the additional 25 min wait. Overall unacceptable and will not be going back. This place is completely horrible without Bert.

Yelp
Luna has been a family favorite for the longest time. & I'm so happy to see that it's has continued to thrive through the years. I wouldn't say it's like the best Italian food ever but I've never had something I didn't like, it's consistently good and I appreciate that. Highly recommend the pink sauce on literally anything it's so delish. Service has been great! I think they're under new ownership now? Maybe they have been for a while but I just heard that recently. Ambiance is cute, it's very outdated but in the best way possible. I hope they keep the authentic mom and pop look forever, it's so comforting and has a nostalgic feeling.

Yelp
We had a party of 11 people for my grandkids birthday I had the Rigatoni and meatballs the Rigatoni was good BUT the meatballs definitely didn't taste like meat! No flavor or texture but more like sawdust! And even though we were charged a 18% gratuity we sure as hell didn't get service that warranted an 18% tip! Never once did they offer to refill my drink & I even asked once but was told they would be right back but I never saw them again! The waiter only came out to take orders then to bring us the bill! I don't know what happened to Lunas but there service has gone to shit!

Yelp
My husband and I came on a Saturday for an early dinner-- after a long day of antiquing :) As we entered, we were greeted and immediately seated in the dining area. We ordered the Combination - Spaghetti, Lasagna and Ravioli- decided for fresh pasta, which is also served with a salad to be shared between the two of us. WOW, the portions are generous. The salad bowl was full, the leafy greens was a nice, and the main combination plate was packed full of delicious pasta and red sauce-- so flavorful. We ordered the house Cabernet for the each of us.. it paired well with our dinner. Our server checked on us frequently. What a great spot to eat in Old Town Clovis.

Yelp
Well... food was not the best. WAYYY too much sauce with the pasta. The ravioli was mid, stiff, same as the gnocchi. Definitely won't be coming back. Cheese pizza was good and chicken Caesar salad was fire tho. Servers were very friendly tho, just food was not good at all. 3/10z

Yelp
We've been eating at Luna's for over 20 years and until recently considered it to be the best pizza and pasta restaurant in town. We always used to say we have never had a bad meal there. However, since the change in ownership, we have seen a marked change in the quality of the food, most noticeably in the pizzas. While the pizzas used to include generous quantities of toppings, the more recent offerings are almost laughably skimpy with the toppings. And don't get me started on their pricing. Since the pandemic it seems that their prices have undergone multiple, regular increases, particularly with respect to the pasta dishes. Whereas Luna's previously offered a special featuring two complete dinners with soup or salad and bread for $15.00, their current "special" for the same meals is now $28.00. Everyone understands how inflation effects prices, but there's is a difference between "inflation" pricing and outright price gouging. Seriously, $19.95 for spaghetti and meatballs? An extra $5.00 for a two-topping medium pizza over the price of the same size cheese pizza, when they skimp on the toppings to the extent it is essentially just a cheese pizza anyway? As much as it pains me to say it, Luna's is pretty much dead to me and my family. Sleep with the fishes; we will not be back.

Yelp
Do not support this establishment! They overcharged us by $100 for our banquet team dinner. Once I got home and noticed, the manager claimed we had 5 extra guests. Absolutely false! Drove to the restaurant to get my refund and they locked the doors early to avoid dealing with it. Mr. Liberta, find a better, honest manager!

J B.

Yelp
This place isn't what it used to be... Food is still ok though, just never gonna be the same.

Yelp
This place has sadly gone downhill. Been coming here for years because we live down the street but yesterday was the last time we will order out from them. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they disgustingly dumped excessive amounts of pesto oil all over my husband's lasagna. They use to separate it from the lasagna when we did half/half but apparently they are getting stingy with the take out containers. Completely ruined the lasagna as it was soaked in oil. Also my eggplant was flavorless and pretty skimped on in terms of cheese/meat sauce. Did not used to be that way. This used to be a solid place for dinner but the last 3-4 times we've been disappointed. Sad but food is too expensive to gamble on it anymore like this.

Yelp
Not sure what is going on with Lunas lately, but last few orders have been not good. Tonight i ordered a pizza half pep:half pep and jalapeños. The pizza looked like someone through a handful of peppers on two slices. I also got an order of raviolis and they were cold, like literally cold inside. I'm a big fan but do better.

Yelp
Luna Restaurant is one of my favorite Italian food restaurants. Their menu & their food is outstanding and very reasonably priced. The service and staff is excellent & friendly. Luna's is a must do dining destination!

Tom S.

Yelp
Came in for a dinner with significant other. I've been to many Italian restaurants in the greater Fresno area, but this place is rock bottom so far. Ordered the veal parmesan. Meat was awful. WAY to much sauce on the pasta. Wife's dish was OK. Waiter could care less. Asked for a wine on the wine list that we like but were told they were out. He suggested the "house" wine which is garbage. So we ordered a chianti and he brought the bottle to the table already opened. Did they just pour the cheap house wine into a chianti bottle? This is an old Archie Bunker trick. Just awful all around. Only thing going for the place is the prices are decent. We went to Andiamo's down the street the next day and had a great meal for a bit more $$.

Kelley

Yelp
Service was not good! We overheard the woman at a table near us complaining that they had not even been acknowledged. Food looked sloppily thrown on the plate. The chairs were upside down on the table next to us as if they were closing. Love supporting the local businesses, but you lost a customer last night.

Yelp
Really has gone downhill after it was sold The Alfredo sauce tasted like eating flour We were regulars and won't be back Probably the worst Italian food I've had in recent years
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
The food quality was good, price is reasonable, and wait staff were pleasant and service was quick. Music in the background is at a good level and provides good ambiance. My one qualm was noticing a small charge at the end of 1.99 as an admin fee which I didn't notice mentioned their mental or seeing posted. If I missed it that's on me but if not, this seems like an inappropriate and illegal business practice (albeit minimal)

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner on a hot night. We were quickly seated in the cool, dim dining room. The place was reasonably busy, clean and welcoming. This is where I point out that I o8ve life with a service dog and this place gets 4 paws up. No access issues, the tables have plenty of room under them and the floors are clean. Our server Sarah greeted us and took our drink orders while we perused the menu. My brother has been bragging about the tri color tortellini so, I had to try it and the Mr. Is always on the lookout for the best calazone. Our bread came out and surprise! The butter wasn't frozen rock hard!! Awesome! The bread was nice while we waited for our salads. They came out and were quite significant foe being sides. Very nice. We like that there aren't a lot of extra toppings.. just lettuce and some croutons. We both got ranch dressing and they have the good stuff. My only issue with tye salad is that some of the pieces are quite large. But nothing my knife can't handle. The food came out after a short wait. The calazone was enrobed with a nice thick meat sauce. The Mr was overjoyed because he hates dry anything Italian lol. My pasta held all the promise of rich decadence. And boy did it deliver. It was rich and balanced. I had to pack up some to bring home for tomorrow's lunch. On the whole, the food was amazing, the ambiance relaxing and the service top notch. We will def be back!

Sandy B.

Yelp
We have eaten here for 30 years. Always our favorite. We had family celebrations here. We always said they had the best pizza in town. We have had 2 pizzas in the last month and we will not be back. We asked for bell peppers and meatballs. This time there were very few bell peppers and meatballs. Mostly cheese. Very sad to see the changes overall the last few months since ownership changed. Very sad as we loved this place. We are done.

Yelp
Luna's has become a tradition for State Meets. My son has ate there 3 times before state meets (cross country and track) he is a 3 time state champion after eating a Luna's! Not kidding not fabricating, go get some Luna's super fuel before a race!

Karen E.

Yelp
The service was excellent, but the food was not good at all. Lots of other better Italian restaurants to choose from. We had heard so much about Luna and were so very disappointed. We won't be back.

Sophia M.

Yelp
Nico the "manager " i think thats his name thats what my receipt says. physically told us to our faces 3 times today we we're wrong and didnt order what we did. im trying to contact the owner. honestly at that point it wasnt about the $ just about how rude our server the "Manager " was!
google avatar

Susana M.

Yelp
Luna's is an excellent Italian Restaurant. If you decide to eat there, make sure you are very hungry. The meals they serve are very generous! Delicious too! I especially love the rich and tasty sauce they make for their entrees. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. It was delicious! I couldn't believe the size of my entree. I was able to take half home for my hubby. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful. I loved the ambience. The artwork was beautiful. You have to try this restaurant. It is wonderful! I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Laurie S.

Yelp
Friday nights are now our time to visit Luna's as a family and truly all be satisfied! You can't beat the price for a kid's meal, and for a tiny bit more, they can even add a small sundae! Soon after you are seated, the delicious bread and butter arrive, and yes, they will keep refilling it. It feels as if you are in a restaurant from the 80's, very basic wood tables, simple decor, info of the business, and they even have their own pressed penny machine inside. Some of the items we enjoyed on our most recent visit were the Angel Hair Speciale, and a pizza with bbq sauce, pineapple, tomatoes, and mushrooms. It can get quite a bit noisy in the restaurant, and service does tend to take a bit longer when busy. Those are the only reasons that fifth star isn't there. Great food, good place for the whole family, and really ample portions too!
google avatar

Rebekah M.

Yelp
Okay so the person with me liked their pizza. I first made a mistake by forgetting to get white sauce on my pizza. I'm picky about red sauce and this place has more of a deep red sauce. Heavy. I like a lighter sauce. I got bell peppers, onions, pepperoni and bacon please tell me why the toppings were raw and my pizza was barely warm? They also had red, yellow, orange bell peppers which I love but not as much as a green on a pizza. The server seemed so upset we showed up because the place was empty. He seemed irritated to have us and we kept seeing him just standing around which is fine when there is nothing to do I guess but we had to ask for more water. The place was clean, I hate Italian decor so I guess it was nice for that. Would I come back? I don't know. It's for sure not on the top of my list.

Yelp
This place needs some management for god sake...used to be a go to place every week. Not anymore. The young-ish guy that pretends to be in charge in the front is rude and a moron. I realize it has new owners but they need a REAL restaurant manager, and SOON. And a deep cleaning wouldn't hurt.

Wendi D.

Yelp
Say it isn't so...grew up in Clovis and Luna's was a staple and the Liberta family made it wonderful. Was on a visit and had to do a take out order. What a disappointment. I know they have new owners but thought that Bert was still running the restaurant and there was not to be any changes. Nothing was the same, bread, pizza, and watery sauce...it wasn't bad, it just wasn't the norm. So sad that such a legacy has been ruined. Sadly another Clovis iconic establishment (like Foster's Freeze) from my childhood is done.
google avatar

Ken T.

Yelp
Luna's Pizzeria had a very old world feel. The decor was a bit dated and the lighting was a little too low for my taste but the place was clean. The service was good but the thing that set it apart were the portions. Huge! The Linguine with Clams and Shrimp had good flavor as did the Eggplant Speciale. My kids had the pepperoni pizza and the spaghetti with meatballs. Everything tasted good, nothing out of the ordinary. The portions were quite large, you definitely get your moneys worth. We arrived for an early dinner but by the time we left there was quite a large number of people waiting to be seated. Seems to be a local favorite although my daughter did remark that all the patrons were of an older demographic.
google avatar

Leslie D.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing!! Lasagna is my fave. The antipasto salad is another fave. If you haven't you just try.

Cody H.

Yelp
Pretty ridiculous when you ask for extra bread and you get home and there's a total of three pieces.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
So disappointed!!! It's been a while since we have been here. Last time it was amazing!! Other than the sandwiches that were ordered by our group, the rest of the food was horrible!! My pasta was way over cooked, mushy and soggy. I didn't get details on the others food but they said it was gross too. Our server never stopped by to check in on us. I had to order another beer from across the room. He just dropped the checks off and kept walking. We paid and will never be back!! Sad that we chose here to bring our friends from out of town!! We love supporting local businesses like this but unfortunately we won't be back

Dana H.

Yelp
Let me say the pasta was amazing but when ordering pick up and you're talked out of ordering the anti-pasta salad because you get complementary salad with your dinner the picture below is what we got not even an edible. Why would you even think of serving this let alone keeping it in your kitchen Now I had to pile it up to throw out to the chickens which I might not even do that because it is so bad.

Betty O.

Yelp
The server Nico, was excellent. I wish I could say the same for the meat sauce and Angel Hair pasta. We tried again, last Friday and they were giving customers plastic utensils to eat with. Evidently the new owner doesn't feel the need to keep the restaurant supplied with silverware. And it was warm in there, air conditioning was set very high or not working. We have gone to Luna's for 55+ years. Heartbreaking.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Like always a great place with great food. Gets busy during events in downtown Clovis but still quick on the Togo orders.
google avatar

Kathleen S.

Yelp
This is our go to when craving traditional Italian food and go to for catering!! The food is so good and they give you huge portions. Easy to work with and a great price for a big group.

Randy R.

Yelp
Amazing food, exceptional service! A very comfortable restaurant; parking can be an issue- otherwise, a nice evening out.
google avatar

Msmelfed76 ..

Yelp
Service was adequate. The food was disgusting. My calazone tasted like dog food. It had been premaid. The crust did not rise.I could not tell if it was fried or baked. And the contents tasted like dog food all minced up. From what I was told they make them in advance. That's why you can't modify anything because they make then who knows how long in advance. Their marinara tasted just as bad and the meatballs also smells like dog food.
google avatar

Priscilla A.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! It was our first time here. I got the tri-color pasta with meatballs, my husband got the meatball and sausage plate, and my toddler got the kids pizza. It was all delicious, warm, and flavorful. Great service too! Will be coming back for sure!
google avatar

Terri D.

Yelp
My favorite place for Italian !! The best eggplant parmigiana a rigatoni, pink sauce, and pizza and much more..

Wendi R.

Yelp
Sadly it has changed hands. People were nice but the food has gone downhill. I've been going to Lunas for 30plus years, not even close to the same quality.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
A Clovis staple! Pasta and pizza always outstanding! Clam linguine is a must but you can't go wrong with anything else on the menu.
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Exceeded my expectations. As a restaurant and hospitality professional I could taste the quality ingredients and scratch build and was pleasantly surprised by an extremely high level of hospitality. This was an experience I will remember and recommend

G P.

Yelp
We love Luna's! The food is consistently good, the prices are fair, very generous portions, and the staff is friendly. Their sauce and bread is very tasty! They have a variety of table sizes to choose from.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Food is always good the same sauce, the same speed, excellent service, although I've noticed it raised their prices quite a bit.

Marylou G.

Yelp
I would like to compliment the service and good customer experience we had. We came to Clovis and Fresno from out of town. After dinner and getting back to our hotel, my husband realized he forgot his Nikon Camera!! We called the restaurant and left a message. We drove back and the restaurant had already closed. My husband knocked loudly on the door and thankfully, the restaurant employee opened and we were able to get our camera back! Thank you so very much!!!

John P.

Yelp
August 8 at 11:30 Friday a total of nine of us went to eat the first thing I noticed there was that the restaurant was not crowded like it usually is. It has been some time since I've been there probably a year and a half. I remember going there at 12 o'clock in the place was packed. When 12 o'clock came there still was nobody in the restaurant to speak of as a person who's been in the restaurant business for 40 years in the fine dining area. I know that when your restaurant has no people in it, there's something going on. Let's get to the food. I ordered the sausage meatballs and peppers. The order came out wrong. It was only sausage. I told the waiter to make sure that it wasn't at my bill. The pasta that was ordered by the group they all complained. It was watery sauce, had no taste and was not worth eating. It is obvious that there is no quality control in the kitchen and that they have cut back on the quality of ingredients because they have no business And the reason they have no business as the food has become horrible. This restaurant will not last another year it even had a feel of impending death. The steak sandwiches were the only highlight of the meal extremely big full of meat, but you can't base your restaurant on a couple of food items. After reading many of the reviews I know exactly what the previous customers went through. You would think that would dwindling business they would consult somebody who could put them back on the right path who's ever in the kitchen is certainly not qualified to cook who's ever in the front does not have a good polite, cheerful demeanor. Well I go back no that's the reason why there was no one there for lunch on a Friday.

Pamela K.

Yelp
We order the ravioli, lasagna, and spaghetti with meatball and sausage and love it, and it's reasonable priced around $18 and me and hubby share it because of the amount they give. The service is great, we order over phone and then pick up and is ready when they say. The ambiance is nice when we eat at the restaurant and we usually sit at the bar.

Liz S.

Yelp
I feel bad because this is not going to be a positive review. Seems like many locals love this place so thought we'd give it a try. After trying it, I don't know what the rave is all about? I found the the food to be terrible and no flavor; definitely not authentic Italian food. I ordered the linguine in white wine sauce with clams and it looked like it was Alfredo sauce. It also had no flavor, just tasted like it was smothered in butter and cream. I had to try and fix it by adding Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. My husband ordered chicken Marsala and it was blah. Additionally, ordered pizza for the kids and it was also disappointed. Service was okay. Ambiance was busy. Seemed like it was a favorite spot for older folks. The place could use a facelift, it felt really old and dark.
google avatar

Tamale Q.

Yelp
Wouldn't recommend the eggplant parmesana or the ravioli. It was just okay, and was missing flavor. On the plus side, their pizza is probably the best thing I'd recommend on the menu.
