Cute little spot and friendly staff. The food was... okay and the price points weren't ideal for the portion size, but I understand they're a new spot and they need to work out some kinks.
First off, ordered the tofu sandwich as the only other option was pork and it's not my favorite meat. Because the sandwiches are pre-made and refrigerated and left exposed/not fully wrapped, the bread was dry, and because the tofu is katsu the tofu was also a bit dry and didn't have much flavor. The only other topping was coleslaw but it did not supply the sandwich with enough "wetness" to un-dry the sandwich as a whole. Also, it was $14 and fairly small so the sandwich was gone in a few bites. I was unimpressed with the sandwich overall, and considering there's currently only 2 sandwich options the lunch menu is quite limited. The pork sandwich, however, looked larger and more full of toppings so I feel a bit conned with this tofu sammie.
Second, the best part, the side salads were delicious! Ordered the potato salad and another side and both were so delicious and tasted fresh! However, again, the portion size for $8 a side was small. I'm not expecting a full container, but each side was 3, maybe 4 bites max.
I've heard their desserts and pastries are tasty so I look forward to returning and trying something else, but because they're new I hesitate to give them a 3-star review until I've gone at least once more.
