"Opening Lupulo and stepping away for a second was also great, because I was able to come back to Aldea and see this is where I felt most at home. Lupulo was the wrong restaurant in the wrong place. But whether it’s called Lupulo or another name, I want to do that [kind of restaurant] again. I think there’s room for that down-home rustic Iberian cooking." - Amanda Kludt

Wow - LOVE this place! Stopped in for lunch and was blown away by their small but spot-on craft beer list (they are an Untappd official venue so list in the app should be mostly up to date). Had some amazing oysters to start followed by two really good lunches and several amazing beers. Our bartender / server was super friendly and very helpful as well.

Disappointing after all the good reviews, the Chicken Piri-Piri was described as being chicken with a Portuguese spicy marinade however it was the blandest chicken I've ever had, the only taste of piri piri came from the bottle of sauce they left on the table. Appetiser was just as bad. On booking, the only table available was at 18.15 however the restaurant was less than half empty for the entire time we were there so not sure how they couldn't accept bookings for a later time

Nice place , atmosphere was good. Super busy during rush hours 6-9pm. If you are planning ahead , better book a table online - or by calling them. Food was good. Will definitely go back.

Such yummy breakfast. Great coffee and personable staff. My egg was over cooked when it first came out and they took prompt care of it and were very kind. Can't ask for more than that when a mistake happens. Really liked the atmosphere and how friendly everyone was. Will go again.

Great Portuguese restaurant in Chelsea. I came here based on a recommendation by TONY and I had a wonderful dining experience. I ordered the lamb leg and my dining companion ordered the strip steak off of their fall market seasonal menu. While both dishes were good they were a little bit on the salty side. The staff was very attentive and the restaurant was clean. I would definitely return to try something on one of their other seasonal menus!

I had dinner here whilst traveling for work. Focused on Portuguese cuisine, the restaurant has a mix of bar and table seats with a decent enough ambience. I had oysters for starters @4 dollars each. They were nice and fresh, from a selection of options, though on the smaller side. For main I had the grilled lamb t bone. It was small, needing a side to be a full meal in my mind. Taste was delicious, with the lamb cooked to perfection and a punchy sauce. Service was a good mix of attentiveness without being overwhelming. Pretty standard for this sort of restaurant in NYC.
