Luze Mexicano Cocina - Review - East Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"With $5 tacos and other solid Mexican street food staples, Luze Mexicano Cocina is our top choice when we're at the bougie Halidom Eatery food hall. From the team behind Zocalo and Taqueria La Luz, this food stall serves a nice variety, which includes everything from birria tacos stuffed with tender shredded beef (our favorite) to pork memelas, which have a thick, tasty tortilla base that we’d happily eat without toppings. It also has prime real estate, situated in the corner of the food hall with a salsa bar and booths that make this stall feel like its own restaurant." - Juli Horsford

A nice place for people to link to get multiple choices in the same area, almost cafeteria style. The nachos were very good. Sangria Margarita was perfectly strong. Vibe in place was nice. Good music. There were pop up shops for the customers. Nice option to host events. Will return. Highly recommended.

Took a little while for someone to place our order, but once we did, the service was friendly and our food came out accurately and quickly. And delicious! I had the vegan bowl and enjoyed it a lot. Plus, it was so large that I had it for lunch, then brought the rest home and had it 3 more times. The chips and salsa were also very good and my son really liked his tacos as well. Loved the little salsa and toppings bar too. Will definitely be back.

Host was super friendly. My drink came out super fast and was absolutely delicious!!! I will come back for their mango margarita!!! YUM!! Server Sean was fantastic - quite friendly and helpful navigating the menu. Food came out hot and prepared as ordered. Loved the steak fajitas!!! I love cheese and the shrimp alambre did not disappoint. Make sure you order sour cream as needed. So parking was super easy and FREE!!! I love the vibe of this restaurant... they make it easy to enjoy their amazing food and service. Everything was really comfortable and inviting. We snagged a corner booth and it was perfect! Easy to get in and move around too.

This was our first time eating at the new Halidom Food Hall, and Luze Mexicano was definitely the right choice! The new digs are super cool, but we live around the corner and decided to get it to go. As you can see from the photos, we were too busy eating to remember to take pics until almost all was gone. Our family had shrimp, birria de res, birria de pollo, and pastor tacos, plus steak quesadilla. All were excellent. Also had sides of rice and beans - also delicious. The beans are really creamy and a nice contrast to the tacos which are a little greasy, but in the best possible way! And the churros are oh so light and crispy, some of the best we've had around town. We wish we had gotten two orders of them. We will be back for more for sure! So glad to have this little gem nearby and can't wait to try another restaurant at Halidom soon.

12/19/2024 Initially, there was no one at the counter, but persons in the kitchen made eye contact with me, so I thought someone would be out shortly. No. So I walked around to view the other menus. Came back. Was not immediately greeted. I started to leave, but the guy greeted me. I ordered two tostadas to go. Then a second order for rice and beans. There's a place on Pilsen, Chicago that I've always said has thee best tostada. But these are just as delicious. 👍🏿 I ordered one grilled and one pulled chicken. Usually pulled chicken is not delicious nor seasoned for some reason, but it was tasty. However, the rice and beans were NOT delicious. No seasoning in the beans at all. And rice was beyond dry, no flavor and seemed old. I absolutely do not like wasting money. I kept trying. Tried them together. But it was just 😑👎🏿🙅🏿‍♀️ If I go back, it definitely won't be for rice nor beans.

Really disappointed. Got nachos to go and they were literally mush by the time I got to the car. Really unappealing especially as expensive as they are. The cheese was so thin it was all on the bottom of the container with soggy mushy chips. The El Pastor was odd as well, much like the pork you find in inexpensive Chinese restaurants. I didn't get any drinks but saw some being served and those looked delicious. Other than that I would not recommend.

Tried to order several items and was told they don't sell them anymore, despite being on the menu. The burrito bowl is mostly lettuce. Other ingredients were not seasoned. Black beans and corn were straight from a can with zero seasoning. Asada steak had a terrible flavor and was very chewy. Very disappointed for the high price tag.

Came on Halidom soft opening. They are working out the kinks but the place has a ton of promise. $4-5 tacos and pretty standard options. Fish taco has good crunch, birria has a lot of flavor, and they have a delightful sangria-magarita swirl frozen drink. Yum.
