Luze Mexicano Cocina - Review - East Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"With $5 tacos and other solid Mexican street food staples, Luze Mexicano Cocina is our top choice when we're at the bougie Halidom Eatery food hall. From the team behind Zocalo and Taqueria La Luz, this food stall serves a nice variety, which includes everything from birria tacos stuffed with tender shredded beef (our favorite) to pork memelas, which have a thick, tasty tortilla base that we’d happily eat without toppings. It also has prime real estate, situated in the corner of the food hall with a salsa bar and booths that make this stall feel like its own restaurant." - Juli Horsford

Took a little while for someone to place our order, but once we did, the service was friendly and our food came out accurately and quickly. And delicious! I had the vegan bowl and enjoyed it a lot. Plus, it was so large that I had it for lunch, then brought the rest home and had it 3 more times. The chips and salsa were also very good and my son really liked his tacos as well. Loved the little salsa and toppings bar too. Will definitely be back.

A nice place for people to link to get multiple choices in the same area, almost cafeteria style. The nachos were very good. Sangria Margarita was perfectly strong. Vibe in place was nice. Good music. There were pop up shops for the customers. Nice option to host events. Will return. Highly recommended.

"Faith over fear" I didnt get the gentleman's name today but the customer service was amazing here. The frozen marg is the best in the area, but the customer service to my family and I was amazing. Quick, food is fresh, guacamole was better than any Mexican place in Atlanta. Great time and very clean area. We are also Tres Leches connesseurs, and this one was top tiered. 9.5 out out of 10!

Host was super friendly. My drink came out super fast and was absolutely delicious!!! I will come back for their mango margarita!!! YUM!! Server Sean was fantastic - quite friendly and helpful navigating the menu. Food came out hot and prepared as ordered. Loved the steak fajitas!!! I love cheese and the shrimp alambre did not disappoint. Make sure you order sour cream as needed. So parking was super easy and FREE!!! I love the vibe of this restaurant... they make it easy to enjoy their amazing food and service. Everything was really comfortable and inviting. We snagged a corner booth and it was perfect! Easy to get in and move around too.

This was our first time eating at the new Halidom Food Hall, and Luze Mexicano was definitely the right choice! The new digs are super cool, but we live around the corner and decided to get it to go. As you can see from the photos, we were too busy eating to remember to take pics until almost all was gone. Our family had shrimp, birria de res, birria de pollo, and pastor tacos, plus steak quesadilla. All were excellent. Also had sides of rice and beans - also delicious. The beans are really creamy and a nice contrast to the tacos which are a little greasy, but in the best possible way! And the churros are oh so light and crispy, some of the best we've had around town. We wish we had gotten two orders of them. We will be back for more for sure! So glad to have this little gem nearby and can't wait to try another restaurant at Halidom soon.

Came on Halidom soft opening. They are working out the kinks but the place has a ton of promise. $4-5 tacos and pretty standard options. Fish taco has good crunch, birria has a lot of flavor, and they have a delightful sangria-magarita swirl frozen drink. Yum.

12/19/2024 Initially, there was no one at the counter, but persons in the kitchen made eye contact with me, so I thought someone would be out shortly. No. So I walked around to view the other menus. Came back. Was not immediately greeted. I started to leave, but the guy greeted me. I ordered two tostadas to go. Then a second order for rice and beans. There's a place on Pilsen, Chicago that I've always said has thee best tostada. But these are just as delicious. 👍🏿 I ordered one grilled and one pulled chicken. Usually pulled chicken is not delicious nor seasoned for some reason, but it was tasty. However, the rice and beans were NOT delicious. No seasoning in the beans at all. And rice was beyond dry, no flavor and seemed old. I absolutely do not like wasting money. I kept trying. Tried them together. But it was just 😑👎🏿🙅🏿‍♀️ If I go back, it definitely won't be for rice nor beans.

Google
We ordered to go so I can’t speak to the location, but the food was fantastic! I really appreciated all the vegan options on the menu! Will definitely go back and dine in some time.

Yelp
Luze Mexicano Cocino is located at Halidom Eatery Stall 6. Luze has its own seating area a part from the Food Hall, but you can still hear the music playing and people watch. I ordered 2 Baja shrimp tacos on flour, esquite, black beans, and rice; the sides were not included, so overall a bit pricey. Additionally, I ordered a sangria, per the menu; however, I got a sangria-margarita swirl, which was the only option for a cocktail. The person taking my order did not disclose sangria only was not available. The food was good; yet it would be even better if they had taco meal options available!

Yelp
This spot sits in Halidom Eatery off Moreland. I truly love the vibes of a food hall. The service was good. The cashier was really helpful and patient with us as we figured out what we wanted. We both got a bowl I got Baja shrimp and my mom got a veggie bowl with chicken added. It had a great taste on it. We both will try it again! On to the next place to try @ Halidom!

Yelp
This spot the Halidom recently opened. Theres plenty of options to satisfy your hankering. I tried Luze Mexicano & it did not disappoint. We came on a Tues and I returned 4 days laters. The empanadas were just like back home in NY and the chicken tacos were a decent size. I was full off 2. The drinks a good as well. I had the mango chamoy. 10/10 I would recommend. M

Yelp
Little pricey for mexican but overall flavorful tacos and queso was ok. Margarita was super sweet.

Yelp
There's no way ONE birria taco with essentially no add-ons is costs almost SEVEN dollars. I was expecting at least 3 in an order, but just one is absolutely disappointing. No complaints about anything else, as food was good and the place is chic and modern. But the tacos weren't *that* good to be as much as one is priced.

Yelp
I love the concept of a food hall, but I wasn't super impressed by this Mexican food. We tried the elote, which looked really good, but it was cold, which isn't really what you want with elote, and made it seem like it wasn't fresh. I also tried a chicken taco, and again, I wasn't super impressed. It didn't have a ton of flavor, was a little dry, and it wasn't very hot either. It came out fast which makes me think that it wasn't made fresh. With so many other options at the food hall, I probably wouldn't stop here again or until I go through the other options.

Yelp
Luz Continues to give us authentic Mercian food served in Excalibur style. Two Locations Halidome Eatery & Chattahoochee Food Works

Yelp
Was thinking I was getting authentic Mexican. Oh no! I didn't receive my guacamole in my bowl and also received fried rice in my Mexican bowl instead of seasoned Spanish rice? Also no salsa?! I had more shredded lettuce than any other item in my bowl. The flavor was good but not sure it is giving Mexican. The atmosphere of the food hall is great!

Yelp
i came thinking I would see my favorite red head no I came across a rude cashier she was sitting down on her phone while I sat at the register for 5 minutes she then took my order with a attitude when I asked about the other cashier. I hope to see my red head more

Yelp
Didn't receive all items in my order .... Although restaurant is running a promotion... food was ok but won't order again

Yelp
Tucked in a corner in Halidom Eatery - a veritable smorgasbord of ethnic and American snack, take-out, and order-at-the-counter type food, is Luze Mexicano--opened just a week ago, by Chef Lucero Martinez Obregon, and offering not the usual variety of Mexican restaurant and street food.It features a varied menu of classic Mexican snack food with a modern, fresh twist and most offerings are under $10 and totally tasty. We ordered a variety of Tacos, Quesedillas, and my favorite, Chile Rellano--covered in a soft shell, and totally delicious. The spices were subtle, and there is a choice of several different types of sauces, soft drinks, and Margaritas in traditional, lime, strawberry, etc. There is adequate seating, staff are friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere fun, bright, and welcoming. It's a perfect place to stop in for a quick snack, lunch, or light dinner. Take-out will be available soon. My only regret is that I didn't order more Chile Rellanos. On Moreland Ave., it is easy to get to and there is more than adequate parking. It's a fun place to go for casual dining, and I will definitely return to try some of the other offerings.
