How Much Money Do Restaurant Cooks and Chefs Make? | Eater

"Kitchen staff at this convention venue report grueling, often unpredictable hours—typically 50 to 60 per week with spikes up to 80 during busy periods—alongside heavy responsibility and stress; these conditions illustrate how moving into managerial kitchen roles can bring higher pay but also longer hours and little or no overtime compensation." - Matthew Sedacca

The event center is beside a lot of businesses, so you are sharing parking space with all the businesses too. Lots of rooms and lots of glass, so much natural light coming in. Bathrooms both upper and lower floors. There's an elevator available and an information center left hand side upon entry. Pretty square light fixture on the ball room.

I attended the 44th Annual PSONS (Puget Sound Onclogy Nursing Society) Symposium. It was held at the Lynwood Event Center. It was my first time going there. The first thing that stood out was the ease and accessibility of getting to it. There were plenty of free parking and EVO charging stalls for people who own them. I don't own one, but my friend does, so that is a plus in my books. The audiovisual set-up and seating geat. WiFi was free, and there were no hiccups with my laptop or phone. Our meal was provided and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure I had a good experience. The amenities were superb. I am a nurse, and I attend a number of conferences annually. This was an enjoyable experience.

We went in for a wine tasting event. It was easy to get to and there is an outdoors parking lot connected to the mall. The event was hosted in a large room with wine and food vendors stationed around. There was also music bands from the local high school. It was a fun night.

My husband and I went to the Lynnwood Event Center to see an installation called "Uncommon Threads" My mom is a seamstress and I've always loved fashion! It's free and we enjoyed it very much!

I attended the Dia De Los Muertos event there yesterday. What a wonderful event! The altars were magnificent. If you ever get a chance to go to one of these events, please do.

Good set up for an event. Parking is easy too at street level. Clean rest rooms. Super close from the freeway (I-5). Right off of the exit.

We hosted a medical symposium and I was very impressed. Instead of sitting around playing on their phones they were cleaning things!

We planned our event and made the reservation 11 months in advance of a significant life event. At this time, we had no problem contacting and meeting with the sales manager, until we paid the deposit. They totally oversold their promise. Customer service was extremely lacking with no communication for months. At 8 months before our event, there was still no response and we could not even schedule a tasting of the new menu. We started researching about their business and learned that there is a huge turnover and there were numerous similar complaints. We respectfully asked them for a refund and then later to at least split the deposit return, but they refused. They said they could guarantee better service, but they had already guaranteed at the signing of the contract and they did not keep that promise for three months. We could not take any further risk and in all likelihood, the person we were working with would not even likely be working there by the time of our event. We cancelled and lost our deposit with still 8 months before our event. They could easily book that room to replace our event and they could have worked with us on the deposit refund. They would lose no money. They hold you accountable, but not themselves! We DO NOT recommend using them for any special personal event. Be careful with any promises made to you and research before you pay a deposit.

Yelp
We've attended multiple community events at this center, and each time has been extremely pleasant. The staff are all courteous, and look for opportunities to assist all guests; especially Mary Kae she makes sure to speak to as many guests as possible. The event center is large enough to host community events, but can be converted to host smaller events as well. I also really appreciate the cleanliness, and accessibility to free parking. If you're looking for family friendly events in Lynnwood, I recommend looking into seasonal events hosted at the Lynnwood Event Center.

Yelp
Thank god you got rid of that horrible management company, Savor. With this great change why keep the dysfunctional chef Micheal? Pam was the person that made the food exceptional, it was never Micheal. Jerome is great, I hope you can keep him.

Yelp
This is a cool venue for events. I've been here a few times now for WSCAI events, and it's been a great experience. They're are plenty of rooms and the layout is great. Would definitely recommend an event here.

Yelp
What a surprise! Nice Convention Center outside of Seattle or Bellevue. This was a nice facility and it wasn't so large that you had to travel far to get from the main meeting room to the restrooms. I was quite happy that all the smaller meeting rooms were so easy to get to. The set up was great. I hope they have more events here. Parking was pretty spread out but FREE! I was very happy about that.

Yelp
My husband and I had our wedding there on May 29th :) I would just like to thank Katie Williams and the entire staff that made is possible for us to have a wedding. Most of the details I had in the wedding were DIY items, from center pieces to guest books. With everything adding up, we have spent less than what people have expected. We would also like to send a big thank you and compliments to the chief. Even though our ceremony and reception was a non-traditional Filipino wedding (just because we wanted to be more modernized), the food was on point! From the Lumpia appetizers to the Soba noodles and Fried Rice, I seriously wanted to go for seconds and thirds but unfortunately my gown wouldn't agree with me. So thank you! To the Lynnwood Convention Center, Chief Michael, our events coordinator Katie, and the rest of the staff, thank you so much for making 8 hours last a life time full of great memories. -Mr. & Mrs. Christopher Chico PS: Anyone looking for an events coordinator, I highly recommend thier Events Manager Katie Williams :)

Yelp
I would give it more stars as its a very nice building and a very nice Convention Center, the main problem was during our 1st Pentecost service today hosted by United Church of God Tacoma and Seattle congregations, we were at the 1st floor, and there was another church having service above us, and right next to us was some day care or something for children lol, if they plan on having all those events together they need to have better sound absorbing walls as we could hear the children next door very clearly and the group upstairs. The 2nd service we had the place to ourselves, and was a very enjoyable time. I guess that would be my recommendation to the LCC if they are having multiple things going on at the same time is to have better sound absorbing system in place.

Yelp
I don't often attend local convention events however I just attended a 2 day event at a great location that I just had to review. The Lynnwood Convention Center is roughly 15 miles north of downtown Seattle and can handle up to 500 comfortably in the main room with another large room situated on the first floor. These rooms can also be divided into 4 separate rooms with separate entrances. If you are looking for a venue with modern amenities, wide hallways and massive display areas look no farther. The only caveat is that parking may be an issue with events over 500. Several chain hotels are within walking distance and all have shuttle service to this event center. I counted 8 restaurants (including drive through) within walking distance for those needing a meal during breaks. Alderwood Mall and several other shopping venues are also located close by, for those not attending the event. This is a well staffed modern facility is just seconds from the junction of Interstate 5 and 405 and is the most accessible event centers in Western Washington. The address of the The Lynnwood Convention Center is 3711 196th Street SW, Lynnwood WA 98036. The phone # (425)778-7155 and their website www.lynnwoodcc.com.

Yelp
I have been to 2 conferences here in the last 2 years. It is a very clean facility, with modern amenities like chargers for phones / laptops in the common areas. Bathrooms are nice and clean. The main room was comfortably laid out and the sound and temperature were very comfortable. Food was ample and very good. The only downside I feel is the parking... not nearly enough for the capacity of the facility. Get there early or no parking. Overall though I would recommend it!

Yelp
Was there for a work event as a vendor and I really have to brag about the venue. Excellent staff with super clean facilities. Very easy to navigate from I5 and the space itself had a nice layout. The catered buffet was really quite good for a convention center, plus they had unique complimentary beverage options. For a convention center I have to say I was impressed and would definitely participate here again. Kudos to the staff and management! My only moderate complaint would be the lack of parking for some, but they did their best to accommodate all! Overall, I would absolutely recommend this place in the future and will attend again in the future!

Yelp
We held a large event for 400 people at the convention center last month and they were great! The center was much nicer than we realized from the outside. They delievered everything they promised, the catering was great and we really enjoyed working with Danielle, the event coordinator. We would absolutely use the convention center again for other events.

Yelp
It's a convention center. It's clean and has parking and is close to the freeway. Not much to complain about, not much to rave about. I came here for an accounting continuing ed. seminar, and they had mini crossants, danish, and muffins during the morning and cookies/fruits in the afternoon. I don't know if the catering is done by the convention center. If it is, the muffins/crossants are BOMB. If you hold an event here, you just got to, GOT TO, order them for your attendees =).

Yelp
I had my wedding reception here at the Lynnwood Convention Center. We decided to have our reception there since we lived nearby, even though our ceremony was in Seattle. After looking around other facilities, we are glad we chose LCC. It is a nice facility that is built less than 10 years ago. It's close to I-5 so it was easy for guests to come in and out. There were plenty of parking for our guests. The prices were much more affordable than some mid-range Seattle venues we were looking at, and much nicer! We had a smaller wedding on the bottom floor, which felt nice and exclusive since no other events were going on that evening. Their food was delicious. We had a cocktail hour beforehand with hor d'oeuvres and drinks for our guests. For dinner, we had a buffet style course with steak and fish. There was plenty of food for all our guests (many went for 2nd and 3rds). All the staff were so accommodating. We had great lighting and used 4 beaming lights, which made our reception look much classier. They had huge screens setup so we could play our childhood and couple videos. Since this venue is more popular for work conferences, they have different equipment to accommodate AV needs. All the staff have been so nice and thorough throughout the wedding process. It made my life more at ease! They were attentive with my needs and accommodated most of my requests. They were pretty flexible as long as it didn't violate any of their policies. I especially thank Danielle, our event manager, and Rachiah, former event manager. Even though there were transitions, the LCC made sure their employees were trained well to accommodate us. I would highly recommend this venue!

Yelp
Every time I visit this place, it seems to get bigger and bigger. The venue is a great place for an expo and even small receptions. I am lucky to have some of my artwork on display there. It is conveniently located right off the highway and there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. You have to come check it out! Did I mention they have some awesome art on display? ;)

Yelp
We've used the Lynnwood Convention Center for a variety of reasons throughout the years. Each time we've received specialized customer service, free parking and wonderful food. Most importantly it is conveniently located in Lynnwood- right off the crossroads of our two major freeways I-5 and I-405.

Yelp
We are so happy we chose the LCC! The venue is well kept, nicely decorated and modern. Our wedding reception was on December 8th so the concourse's and stairwells were beautifully decorated with lights, love how they didn't go overboard with holiday decorations. We received LOTS of comments about the food. Everyone got the flat iron steak with polenta (unless they had some type of dietary request which they accommodated as well). We've heard a couple guests even say it was one of the best steaks they've had! Cheers to the chef/kitchen staff! Lastly, our event manager, Katie, was THE BEST! I can't thank her enough! We have been planning our wedding for almost 2 years and for about 1 1/2 of that I felt like I was constantly e-mailing Katie questions, ideas, etc. Never once did she make me feel like I was bugging her and she was always so pleasant and informative. Thank you Katie and LCC staff for helping to make our wedding a memorable one!

Yelp
I didn't know I could be this happy with a venue! The Lynnwood Convention Center deserves 10 stars! From every step of the way -- scheduling, making contracts, amending what we needed, to carrying out the event and the follow up, EXCEEDED my expectations. The location is wonderful--close to the freeway, nearby affordable food to fit every dietary preference. Parking is abundant. FREE WIFI!!! The Lynnwood Convention Center embodies modern efficiency and a friendly character -- from their employees, the decor, the signs on the wall! The price is AMAZING and the personal attention we received was extraordinary. I will use the Lynnwood Convention Center for EVERY event I host.

Yelp
They don't care about Dietary/Allergy needs. Valerie and head person were rude. The food is already plated so we can't change anything. Seriously? Why even ask? Will NEVER attend an event here again!

Yelp
Not impressive at all for the senior breakfast for high school. Wait outside for decent amount of time. Need to do whatever quickly.

Yelp
This is a first class and state of the art facility that has the ability to host events of varying types and sizes. There are two floors that can both be utilized in different formats depending on the event. I have been here three times helping to put on an annual Disney fan event and our planning committee has had a great time working with the convention center staff that does everything they can to accommodate our needs.

Yelp
I have been pleasantly surprised by this location. It's really well-designed, modern, and with great spaces. There is an espresso bar downstairs, too! Not sure if they did the catering or it was chosen by the people renting the space. Either way, there was plenty of space to set it up and break down. Every room had water dispensers and cups; the bathrooms were spacious and very clean; the windows are huge and allow a lot of light in. It was a great space.

Yelp
My husband and I had our reception here March 25th, and we could not be more pleased with our experience. In particular, Katie Williams, Erin, Michael (the chef) and the entire event staff was so wonderful throughout the planning process and on our special day. The planning process was so organized and easy. We met with the event staff several times (as many as I felt necessary), to figure out every little detail of the reception. I was able to tell them all my ideas, and they created a layout and even gave me more ideas so the event was exactly what I wanted. We rented out the entire top floor of the convention center for our reception, and it was perfect for the 400 people that came. Because we were having such a big wedding, to cut down on costs we had a lot of extra stuff to set up at the convention center beforehand (lights, bouncy toy, centerpieces, ect.). The staff was extremely accomodating to open the doors early for us to set up. It is a wonderful feeling to not worry about anything the day of your wedding, and this is exactly how I felt with the reception. The event staff took care of everything I needed all the way down to the little details (for example, a server was constantly making sure my husband and I were taken care of with food and drinks throughout the night). They truely went the extra mile (and beyond) to make our reception stress- free and perfect! I would highly reccommend them to host any event you are having, especially a wedding or wedding reception.

Yelp
I came here for Kenmore Camera's annual expo and sale. It's a relatively small venue -- well, compared to the Washington State CC. I like the venue quite a bit. It was very clean and tidy. I reason I'm cutting a star down to 3 is because they don't have a very good solution for parking. The lot is shared with a bunch of other businesses (including Chuck E. Cheese!). I feel that if it gets really busy, parking can be quite far away.

Yelp
We would like to thank Kathy LeMaster, Rebecca and staff at LCC for letting us have the most magical wedding. Kathy was so helpful along the way and gave us so much advice and ideas. She was so attentive the day of by helping us coordinate and gave advice how to cut the wedding cake. Everyone was in awe by how the tables were set and it really was so beautiful and elegant. We would also like to thank the Chef for the delicious food. Everyone loved it!! The Center itself is very modern and with some decor it makes for a great wedding venue. I love how our wedding photos turned out here. It was the best decision to have our wedding here. THANK YOU!

Yelp
Had a good time here for my brother's wedding and my only complaint would probably the lack luster attempt at making the meeting room more exciting compared to my experience at the bellevue club in bellevue. But the food was great and a wonderful staff.

Yelp
Cousin's wedding day! This place is pretty big. I was so glad my cousin had his wedding here. I love seeing new event spaces and this one was nice! The event coordinator was also there to answer all our questions. The wedding was buffet style and the last time I went to one was at another convention center that had water stations where people had to get up and refill their own water glasses. With 300 guests the water dispenser was always empty. I had to make sure that didn't happen at my cousins wedding. I was relieved to hear that all the beverages-wine, soda, and water were at each table. The wedding ceremony was held on one half of the split room. It was beautiful. Then guests were ushered to the hall for cocktail hour and passed appetizers and guests could take photos with the bride and groom. During this time the staff is setting up the reception ballroom. Everything came together beautifully.

Yelp
Just attended an event there last weekend. The Event was great, but, I'm here to say it could not have been hosted by a better venue! Parking was easy (free) and abundant. Services were top quality. The space was clean, well prepped for our class sizes. The bathrooms were above expectation; I loved being able to eat lunch outside in the protected patio area. Really well designed and run, guys. The Lynnwood Convention Center is a perfect venue. So glad you were there for us in such a big way.
