M Lounge

Found this place on google as I’m an out of towner and I was happy. Went on a Saturday evening about 7:30pm and the music upon arrival was cool R and B later in the night a DJ at 9. The drinks were delicious!! We order DoorDash Harold’s and drank our cocktails to great music. Laid back vibe. Online it said it was happy hour, but when you scan the QR menu at the table no happy hour is listed on the menu and I didn’t ask what it included and it wasn’t offered at ordering either. Happy hour time online said 7-9pm but didn’t list drink specials.

I’ve been coming here after work for years because it’s a great hidden gem. The ambiance is grown and sexy. It’s a very small establishment that has live music or a DJ ( no food) depending on the day of the week. My only complaint is parking can be challenging if they have a live band. Be sure to use the Park Chicago app if you park on the streets to avoid getting a ticket.

Yo, if you're lookin' for a chill spot in the South Loop, M Lounge is where it's at. Dropped about $45 on a couple of their signature martinis—tried the Sexy Sangria Martini and the Cucumber Lime Cosmo, both were on point. The vibe is smooth with live jazz that sets the perfect mood for unwinding after a long day. The bartenders are friendly and know how to mix a solid drink. Place gets packed on weekends, so get there early to snag a good spot. Definitely a gem in the neighborhood for music lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike

Very chill vibe. Great for afterwork ir late night. However, some of the bartenders need additional training. My Old Fashion was made incorrect twice during one of my visits. She told me that she wasn't going to remake it again. Very disappointing as this is a classic drink. And she had the nerve to be irritated.

M Lounge is hands down one of the best spots in the South Loop if you’re into smooth jazz and a killer cocktail. The vibe is straight-up classy but still cozy—dim lighting, comfy leather seats, and live music that sets the perfect mood. I went on a Friday night and ordered a French Martini ($14) and a Classic Manhattan ($16)—both were made perfectly, strong but balanced. The live jazz band was incredible, and the crowd was a good mix of locals and music lovers just vibing out. No rush, no pretentiousness—just a laid-back, grown-folks kinda spot. Definitely a go-to if you want great drinks and even better music!

We dropped in for an after dinner drink for the birthday man of the hour. I suggest they upgrade their mixers and just plain soda sellctions they were really bad. Tasted old and the fountain filtration was in need of servicing. Coming from someone who has done bartending.

I recently went to M Lounge and I've got to say, it was a very good experience. The decor was beautiful, with stylish sconces and a gorgeous chandelier in one of the reserved areas. The seats by the bar were super comfy, and the atmosphere was just right. I had their raspberry lemon drop, and it was so delicious! The music was perfect - it set a relaxed mood without being too loud. Everything was clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I'd go back whenever I feel like having a calm night!

Post Covid update. Places opens after 6 pm but I here right now at 7:45 and first customers just coming in right now and DJ is just setting up. He will be playing a wide variety of music and it will not be strictly house music. They are currently only open on Friday and Saturday nights. Not a lot of space to dance but dancing is allowed as I confirmed that today. I have danced the night away on more than one occasion in the past. The bartenders are pouring great drinks. These are NOT watered down and in fact even as a guy I had to show down my drinking as they were stout. Lol. Crowd usually is mostly 40 and up and professional white collar workers just getting off work downtown. Parking is very tight so try to not drive there if at all possible.

Great music, attentive bartenders, reasonably priced cocktails, specials, and a generous assortment of non alcoholic drinks--this place has it all. After a couple of brown liquor drinks, I wasn't ready to go so the friendly bartender whipped me up a mocktail with a zero proof champagne base and I'll say this: no drinks here miss their marks. I will absolutely visit again when I'm back in Chicago.

Came here as a first stop while celebrating my birthday. I enjoyed the amount of open seating. Half of my group sat and half danced. The dj was nice and the bartenders kept us poured up.

Omg!!!! I held my 60ish Birthday Party here. The spot is elegant the service is excellent. You can rent the entire place or a section. Music is provided live or DJ. You can to see it for yourself

Overall, this was pretty good time. In town from StL, our group of 11 visited on a Saturday night and arrived around 10p. We were provided the section in the front of the lounge, but told we could only occupy 1/2 of it due to another party coming later, who never showed. It was ok, we sat close together to leave space for the ghost party. When the DJ changed, the music got a bit weird with 1 song including a mix from a church song, which felt odd. I made a request to hear T.I. and the DJ asked me, "Why?". Uuummm, well, because I asked. What else do I say. Anyway, bar selection was strong with several Bourbon options: Knobb Creek, Basil Hayden and a few others. However when I asked the Bartender if they carried Coke or Pepsi, she said she didn't know and said it's "Cola". How does the Bartender not know? We ordered a few bottles of Champagne for the group at $66 apiece and the champagne had a very nice taste to it! We stayed about 2 hours and Overall had a nice time.

Food was amazing and fully paired with Macallan whiskey pours. The service was 5 stars. The team was very professional. The ambiance is subdued and chic. Typical Chicago lifestyle. The bartender gave us tips on visiting the Macallan property in Scotland. Look forward to doing it again.

Grown and Sexy. Nice chill and laid back atmosphere after work spot. I came here on a Friday Night to listen to some house music (DJ) Ron Troupe. Admission is Free. Try to get there a little early parking is kind of hard to find around in this area. The bartender was super nice. Derrick was very attentive and handsome ladies. Great intimate spot and classy. It's a must I come back and enjoy another night of some good music and dancing.

Maaaaannnnn this "lounge" is pointless. We came all the way from indianapolis to over priced drinks and a wack dj...... It definitely didn't look anything like the pictures.... and not worth the trip!

I enjoyed M Lounge. It seems like a place for regulars though.. parking is street, I'm unsure if there were lots near by. Seating is at the bar or at one of the comfy chairs, chaise or couches they have upon entrance. By 8pm, it was standing room only. We were fortunate to find 2 seats at the bar. The DJ was jumpin and excepts requests. our bartender Kathryn was amazing and made a mean Side Car... heart chu, Kathryn! LOL Restrooms are to the back. I would definitely come back.

I came here on a solo night out. It's on my places to check out since moving to the Chi and being black owned. Now I actually didn't get to get in "all the way" because they were at capacity so needless to say they follow COVID rules but it looked nice clean cozy and the music wasn't too loud or raunchy. I wanted an adult like atmosphere and just chill out so I know I will be back to check it out. The doorman was accommodating ... So my stars are on face value since I couldn't get in ... I went around to the sage room and told the Uber driver to peel off... looked kinda young and not my type so that's that. I will try again and leave out the crib earlier.

Great place for my mother and her friends to hang out. Not for anyone under 40. First place to charge ($5) for soda water that wasn't in a bottle and came from the tap; it's laughable.

I wouldn't know if this place is any good or not. Even though I called I got no answer and they said it was first come first serve for a parties less than 6 so I didn't leave a message to make reservations. My partner and I walked in the frigid cold to enjoy some jazz music tonight only to find that a sign was posted saying it was closed on a Saturday night. There was nothing on their site or calendar stating that. Is that too difficult to do...updating your site so people aren't wasting their Saturday showing up to only find we can't get in?

Just moved to Chicago and this is already my go-to spot. The drinks are strong and the music is good. A nice, chill spot to hang with friends on a Friday night. The crowd was mixed and super friendly as well.

I come to M lounge often on Tues and Wed nights. They are great nights to come out and just soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the music. Tonight Julia Huff is performing and she is not only a fantastic act but so humble and fun to talk to! If you can check her out before she goes out to Europe in June, do so. You will not be disappointed. The only reason I don't give M Lounge a perfect score is the pricing on their drinks. They are too pricey considering the alcohol content and the wine is well.... pretty shitty. Still my go to though for a fun and chill night. And the crowd is always friendly.

Small and Intimate. I had such a great time here. Melissa and the Bartender made everyone feel special. We were celebrating a major birthday and it will be one to remember. The Live music was off the chain. Great staff, clean restrooms, and Really Really Good Drinks. Well Worth A Visit for sure.

This lounge is a hidden gem! On the weekend, they have a DJ, and everyone was up dancing. On Mon./Tues. they have live music. I always have a great time and I get my dance on!

3.5 Stars I've been to M Lounge on many occasions. Most recently I went last night for a friend of a friends Jazz event. M Lounge is on the smaller side, but the atmosphere has always been great. Usually this isn't a place I just stop into. I've moreso come for bday parties and events. On a prior experience I came for a bday party and they were nice enough to give us the more secluded area by the front of the window. Only downfall is food isn't served here, but your more than welcome to place an order from another establishment and have it delivered. Really intimate place and usually a good time.

I have been here several times and I even went to celebrate my birthday last year which was cool to hear the live band and soak in the laid back ambiance sprinkled with a lot of mature adult fun. I have only been disappointed once when I came here and that is when the band didn't show up but that isn't the fault of the owner but I didn't end up staying that night because I was by myself and hey that would have been odd. I like the fact that do offer non-alcoholic drinks for people who don't drink or maybe the designated drivers. I think that is a plus because some places don't order that option or they have a very limited choice for you to choose from on the menu. I haven't had any of the food items that they offer but I saw many people ordering so that is something I may try next time. I look forward to see what they have in store for this upcoming year. This is a great lounge. We came here on a Thursday evening and to my surprise, there was a live band! When do you ever get to go for a drink with a live band!? The music was perfect. Their drink menu has an extensive list of martinis. I had the French Kiss and it was ok, but surprisingly the lemon drop one was better! I would definitely come back here.

The M Lounge is a great place to chill, socialize and have a few drinks with friends and colleagues. Drinks are priced fairly and the service from bartenders is excellent. The selection of music is top notch. They also have non alcoholic drinks (Mocktails) for those that do not drink or don't want to have alcohol. A hidden gem in the South Loop with a Chicago vibe that is second to none. The main gripe is the size and that this place can get crowded easily. Other than that the M Lounge should be on your list of places to check out, especially if you are not really a club/party type person.

The MLounge is a GREAT spot to Chill w/friends in a safe, grown & sexy environment! I went to the MLounge on a Saturday night (June 16TH) to celebrate a friends birthday. It was a great experience overall. The DJ was awesome and really kept the crowd going with a mix of new school and classic hiphop. The drinks were moderately priced and our bartender gave great service. It was crowded but it wasnt so bad where you couldnt move. I'll definitely be back! Salute to a Classy, well ran Black Establishment!

I visited the M lounge on a Friday Night in late May 2021. My girlfriend was celebrating her birthday and reserved a table for 5 of us. When we arrived we were greeted with the warmest of greetings and seated right away. The atmosphere was so nice and the DJ that night was amazing. We ordered a few rounds of drinks and all the drinks were tasty and strong. We had a great time that night and the vibe was great! The management seems on point at this spot, I felt safe and relaxed. I was having so much fun I walked off and left my credit card. I contacted the manager at 6am that Saturday and explained how I was in Chicago for the weekend and needed my card right away. The lounge didn't open that evening until 6pm however Derrick (the manager/owner?) agreed to meet me early that afternoon to get my card for me so I could enjoy my stay in Chicago! How cool was that! I'd suggest M lounge to anyone looking for an upbeat joint, great music, drinks and a dope vibe. I'll definitely be back!

M Lounge is a small venue situated at the far end of the South Loop. It was a Saturday night and full house. Our party of 11 arrived without a reservation and had to cram into two small tables by the door. It didn't work so well and eventually the servers gave us a reserved area by the windows because that party was late. The area had four small tables combined together and a couch-like seat stretched across the window ledge as well as other small ottomans and plush chairs. The menu offered a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Prices were not bizarre. Most of us ordered at least one drink and we also had a round of jagerbombs. M Lounge isn't the typical lounge for chit chat. It was a bit loud and we could barely carry on a conversation without shouting across the room. We lingered for an hour and a half before we decided to switch places. P.S. The group who originally reserved the area never showed up. That was a huge plus for us!

Went on a date at the M Lounge on Valentines day with a new friend and it was awsomethe atomsphere and music was great! The drinks were great, lemon drop Martini the best word to describe is great! I will definitely come back. The bartender and staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. M Lounge is a awesome place to go on a date, great ambiance. I'm looking forward to coming back and my date really enjoyed it as well!

A beautiful place to enjoy a Tuesday evening; with a live band

Stopped in for a friend's b'day this past Saturday night. Never really heard of this joint as I really wanted to go to The Shrine, but I can't control where someone goes for their b'day. Walked in and noticed the place was quite small. If you stand behind someone waiting for a drink at the bar, you are in someone's way trying to pass by. The bar itself is quite long and the seating against the wall is quite relaxing. Kind of a swanky place which of course draws the posers..LOL. I drank champagne the whole time I was there, but the martinis that passed me by looked quite delicious. This is a good place to end your night and enjoy a decent atmosphere. Music selection was quite questionable though as "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga does not go with the place.

Great place for mature adults 35+ who want to have a drink and listen to good beats. It is small but has adequate seating. The crowd is inviting and classy. We had no reservations for the lounge seating but were approached by management and they offered us seating-we declined as we thought we needed to get bottle service or commit to a minimum, but surprisingly were told we did not and we took the offer. I was impressed as I was visiting from LA and in LA, you pay to sit. The customer service was great and the DJ played amazing beats and even offered us a shot! I will definitely return next time I'm I Chicago.

Wow! My 1st visit but not the last. The owner is soooo personable. He accomodated my RSVP with a 24 hr notice for a party of 10. The service was great once we arrived. Sigma Phi Beta Fraternity Inc hosted this event and offered free delicious food! This venue is wonderful bc you can bring your own food inside. Drinks a bit pricey but there is no cover charge so it's not so bad. The band w Simone Green was awesome. Only downside to this place is that it is really really really small. The photos are a hoax. Its no dance floor and the bar seating is extremely close to the VIP section which causes for squeezing pass.

Great spot to end your evening after a long date, especially a date that's going or that went VERY well (and she better be super-HOT!) Anyway, yesss....M Lounge satisfies for all the right reasons: great drinks, awesome decor, live jazz sometimes during the weekdays, electronica during the weekends, friendly knowledgable bartendars, GREAT OWNER(S), neat, solid mature ambience. The first thing that pops out at you when you walk in is the solid oak 28ft long bar that graces the lounge ever so lovingly! very comfy seats, chaises, and couches.... good eye candy too: i walked in there one evening and wanted to buy all the ladies a drink jus 'cause they were looking so damn yummy! ...but i wasn't drunk enough yet. anyway, very intimate spot, may get congested sometimes due to mass appeal so get there earlier right after dinner at zapatista or gioco right down the street, or wherever you're coming from. RECOMMENDED.

Great martinis. Seriously. mmmm. I had the espresso martini, which admittedly like a dessert...and it was beautiful. Packed a punch with that caffeine too. Lounge is really sleek, earth tones, long bar, little nooks to sit in with cozy chairs. Friendly clientele and staff. Excellent choices for drinks. I'm sure it gets a little jammed on the weekends, but it was just the right level of buzz and conversation on a Thursday evening... No food. Not very good parking (they do valet on weekends, though). Live jazz on Tuesday/Wednesday...

Even the designated driver will find a delightful drink. Great spot to unwind, listen to music and make new friends.

This is by far my favorite jazz bar. Truly for the grown folk. Grooving to the sound of Delivery Point full house tonight.

Niiiice spot in the Chi. Love. It. The guys at the place are a bit on the odd & uncomfortable side, lurkers galore... The atmosphere of this place I loved. Dark & classy with good tunes & movies on the big screen TV's. I enjoyed my visit with a great guy friend who couldn't have picked a better spot. I will definitely be back to visit Chicago and back to this gem of a place.

Looking for a place to relax, have a drink and listen to some jazz? Well the M Lounge is just that place. Stopped by here on a Saturday night expecting it to be packed, but it wasn't. Plenty of room to mosey up to the bar or to sit in one of the cozy chair groupings. A nice neighborhood feel with a good mix of people. Street parking is a bit of a challenge, but on the weekends there is valet parking ($10) which makes it an easy choice. I was a bit surprised that there was no live jazz. Someone had suggested this place to me and talked about the live jazz. Turns out- the live music is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On the weekends- they pipe in jazz music and show vintage movies on the flat screen TV's. Lent a nice feeling to the place. Good drinks, nice bartenders in an classy environment? This is a perfect place to end your night on an up beat.

Met my sister for drinks. Its way smaller than the pics on the website. We were taken aback. But good things come in small packages. They have a decent menu with a variety of drinks, both alcoholic and non. I got a fruit fusion cocktail which was a variety of tropical fruit juices. It was tasty and i didn't mind shelling out the $7. I recommend M Lounge just get there early enough to get a seat.

Classy place! I was in town for business and I wanted a Chicago vibe for an hour or two. I was the only white person there, so that's how I knew my experience would be pure. Very warm and friendly service. I loved how you could order-in food as long as you order drinks. The live music was just the right volume. Most people there were middle-aged or older, I am not sure if this is the norm, or just because it was a Tuesday early evening. This will be my first stop when I return to Chicago again.

The M lounge located in such a way that you would need to look twice to actually see the location. The vibes, the relaxation is amazing !!! Not too crowded on this lovely Saturday night(weather wise) but not empty..I also understand that everyone does not enjoy a overly-crowded place. The music selection is GODLY... The drink selection definitely lives up to the Hype!! I'm an average size guy and the bartender deserves credit for the drinks he served us.. My lady seconds my opinion of this place we were actually very surprised with how comfortable and intimate the ambiance is. I have chosen to give this place four stars, if you are in a chill mood looking to just relax and have a couple drinks this is an excellent choice. it covers all basis except food, if they had a snack menu with a few appetizers I would have given it five stars. Needless to say.. The M Lounge will receive my business again.

This is a favorite place to enjoy great conversation with interesting people and have some of the best martinis on the near southside! Free street parking on Sundays. Otherwise, pay close attention to the signs. It's a quick walk or short cab ride if you're in South Loop neighborhood. Very interesting jazz throughout much of the week. This is a really nice place to enjoy adult life!

Very nice lounge atmosphere nice music good staff and EXCELLENT martinis ( to die for).... definately i recommend this place i had the almond joy and my fiance had the esspresso one. Both of them were just AWESOME!

This is going to come down to what you are going for. If it's a jazz performance, then it's a real good spot to go to. It's not nearly as crowded as some of it's after work mixers so you'll be able to find a seat. After work though, it can be a little crowded and the bartenders can be a little slow. So try to plan accordingly. Little bit pricey but typical for the South Loop. One day I'll try the food there and update if needed.

Awesome vibe, classy mature crowd and the night I went, which was a Wednesday, the live music was on point. I didn't get the name of the band. The club is relatively small so it now was crowded and made it difficult to find seating and while it was a bit irritating, in some strange way it also added to the ambiance. I would recoup for a quick drop in with friends for drinks and some good music

Had a phenomenal time with my crew. The Manager, Mr. Derrick (prayerfully I spelled that right) was fantastic, along with the Queen serving drinks. The vibe was amazing and it was just what we needed. Smooth music. Truly grown and sexy! We also had some great food from Mr. Fred. We will definitely be returning next time we are in your area. This past Wednesday, I visited the M Lounge to listen to Simone Green's performance. I've always wanted to visit this. I've heard so much about the music, vibe, the good food and great drinks. Crazy schedule prevented me to visit sooner. I'm glad that I made it

This was a great place for drinks. They offer a nice variety of drinks based on your preferences. The staff was very friendly and professional. I would go back to visit again.

This wonderful Black-owned business is a gem in the South Loop. Incredible owner & staff. Incredible cocktails w/daily specials. Tonight, they graciously allowed us. To use some of their space for a Networking for the First Annual Chicago Black Women's Business Week Networking Week. Our hosts were kind, beyond accommodating, and enabled a great positive event...

M Lounge is one of those rare places where you won't feel forced to shut up and listen to music (due to venue layout, an exorbitant cover charge, etc). That said, the vibes and talent here will definitely make you want to groove along by your own volition. The drinks can be a little hit or miss (depending on your tastes, I suppose), but the quality of the musicians makes everything worthwhile. It definitely fills up, so go early if you're going with a sizeable group. Aside from the bar stools, there are ottomans and lounge chairs placed around small tables. Not ideal seating if you're trying to cozy up with a date, but like I said, the music will make up for it.

This afternoon, I inquired about the dress code. A patron and the owner both wrote back advising of the dress code. As I dreaded the hour drive to the establishment, I anticipated the great time I would have upon arriving; especially, after a prompt response from the owner earlier in the day and the great reviews. To my disbelief, when I arrived at 7:30 pm on this beautiful Wednesday evening the doors were locked. There was not a sign on the door and there was not an answer to my phone call. I hope the all is well with the workers and there was not any major issues that warranted them to be closed tonight. Nonetheless, I am disappointed about the venue being closed and the owner not mentioning they would be closed when he responded to my dress code inquiry. I did inquire if they would be open later this evening once I left but it's almost 2 hours later as I am writing this review and I have yet to gain a response. So I recommend finding out if they'll be open before driving to this venue.
