I really enjoyed the mac and cheese and spinach rice. When we got into the store we were greeted and shown the menu, we did a pick up and we waited only a couple mins for a good portion of food. Once I got home my husband and I both were like this meal does everything we need it to right now. We will definitely be back!!!

I always get the lunch special it comes with a soda. Monday thru Friday great deal great food. One Sunday back they burned Mac and cheese so I'm not sure who was cooking that day but it wasn't good. But service is normally great so I just won't order on the weekends lol. Wing's are great will try the salmon one day. My favorite is the original and Tuesday.

We got a classic mac & cheese, and then we also got a fancy. One was ltruffle oil and all that and that was good too -so rich to eat just that one …. It’s A fun place to go and share stuff… I wish they had more sides that cut through the cheese. I was Jones and 📔 some collard greens, and like a vinaigrette coleslaw it was a hot day …But the portions are huge and you can just take it home and Dazzle up whatever sides you want… I also went back and brought my 16 year old son and his gf…which also got highly rated by them, they don’t play about Mac and cheese.

Popped into the family owned place on a friend's recommendation. The 3 cheese sandwich and tomato soup felt perfect for a late lunch and early dinner filler. The bread was toasty and the cheese ooey gooey 👍 Next time I'll pick me up that seafood mac and cheese I saw on the menu!

This place could be better if they put more love when cooking their food! We Expected a better flavor and my salmon had NO flavor and the Mac n cheese balls were too big, not fried enough. My beef Mac n cheese didn’t have any flavor reminded me of the hamburger helper from the box. I love supporting local businesses but they have to do better. Too greasy, no flavor, and not cheesy enough for me.

The Mac Shack is an ok place to go, the lady at the register was nice and helpful to me when I told her I was there for the 1st time, i was expecting a crowd at lunch but I was really the only one there. The food wasn't bad, i got the Jerk Chicken, Mac, Salad, and a Lemonade, I think it was Mango flavored. I ate it all, but I was a little bit disappointed, for a place to call itself the Mac Shack I expected the Mac to be out of this world, but instead it's only ok, I've had better, nothing to rave about. The Mac N Cheese is supposed to stand out and be the star of the show, but it doesn't, still with that being said, i would recommend that you go and try it for yourself

Received a huge helping filled with spinach, tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, shredded carrots, and mushrooms. I preferably my mac a bit cheesier, but this veggie mac was still very tasty. Definitely will be ordering from them again.

Absolutely disappointed in this place. If I could give zero stars I would. My partner and I used to love this place and order whenever we could despite the price because we thought the food was worth it. The last time we ordered from this place was pre-pandemic and we didn’t expect the food quality to change at all but here we are. What we received were two toddler sized pieces of chicken, half a plate of cold over cooked-elbows, and a thin layer of cheese on top. Incredibly dissatisfied especially considering we spent over $70 on this order through Uber. We’ll be taking our $$$ elsewhere for better tasting food at a more reasonable price.

Saw this place while I was searching for food on my lunch break and it didn't disappoint. I got the wings and Mac combo with a flavor of sweet and spicy on the wings. Very nice portion of food. The Mac was very cheesy which I loved and baked to perfection, you could definitely tell it's made to order hot and fresh the way the cheese was pulling. The wings were a good size but could use alil more flavor the sweet chili flavor sauce on the outside wasn't enough for me but it was still decent. The service was very pleasant and kind. There is limited seating but if you're just quickly eating it shouldn't be a problem. The menu is filled with a variety of Mac and cheese options catered to the different communities in Brooklyn which I look forward to trying. I'll definitely be back castes I love cheese.

Yes. Yes and more yes! Mac and shack was everything we needed! Their macaroni and cheese was served piping hot and delicious! It had a top layer of delicious melted cheese with crispy edges. The inside was gooey, cheesy and full of flavor! There are so many choices to go with but I decided to try the classic first. I'm glad that I did because by itself it was awesome! I can't wait to go back and try so many other combinations now that I trust them. We topped off the mail with some chocolate cake! I'm not sure if it was homemade but it was definitely moist and had the perfect amount of sweetness. In the words of a 4-year-old it was "crazy good!"

Didn't really try what they are known for ... Macaroni and cheese but I just wanted tomato soup with grilled cheese ... unfortunately they were out so the woman at the register suggested spinach chicken noodle soup which took mad long. She said twelve minutes but was at least 20-25 ...only notices because I only have one hour for lunch ... soup was ok macaroni noodles chicken stock spinach and pieces of chicken breast that was served with a fork. So while I was waiting for the soup I'm gues the owner or the chef came out and brought me a macaroni and cheese egg roll with oxtail. Not on the menu yet but soo good ... crispy hot good cheese pull flavorful sauce on the side,,, yum! Worth a visit.

Maybe new owners not sure but they don't have cheese in their Mac and cheese classic. Cannot find much cheddar except for the top which is hard to cut through. Sad each chance I give them it's the same and it's not cheap either. $30 for a mid sized portion they call "large." Lesson learned. Let us know when you have adequate cheddar or anything in your Fulton classic.

I keep coming here wanting to be pleasantly surprised by the place. And it's just not happening. The quality of the mac & cheese for the price is simply not there. The customer service is average for New York City, so you know... Aggressive, dismissive, and generally unpleasant. However, the owner did reach out to me to ask what they could do better. Always a good sign.

I love supporting my black owned business especially when the food is good. It's a small business with different varieties of Mac and cheese. I never knew Mac and cheese could taste so good. The only complaint I have is the Mac is too cheesy. A weird complaint yes. So if your a cheese lover this place is for you!!! The customer service is good and the food come fast. The restaurant is small and has seats.

This was a great experience, I received this order from too good to go and they did it right. I received the classic Mac along with a mango lemonade. The lemonade was a little tart but I'm grateful. The staff were kind to me as well Nala was a great host. The Mac was good and cheesy and it was a good amount. Great overall experience.

The food is always on point. Seafood Mac is good. You think you having pizza eating the pizza Mac . Tried a few and was quiet impressed. Salads are very healthy and side dishes such as salmon and wings are season and cook to perfection. Service is pretty good most times. Order before you get there because when it's busy the wait is long..

Called in advanced to place an order for Thanksgiving after seeing on their website/IG that they were available. Spoke to a man who not only confirmed that I could place my order for the small "Vegan Mac" and value sized "Brooklyn North" - but even told me what the total $ would be for pick up. When I called the day before to confirm my pick up time, I was told my order was never placed, and when I offered to pick up the order that night (I was WILLING to eat day old food), they told me they didn't even have the vegan or gluten free ingredients to make the order!! We literally didn't buy ingredients to make extra side dishes since we were planning on this as part of our Thanksgiving meal. We were looking forward to this, huge bummer the customer service sucks.

Hadn't been here for a while but wanted something really good for lunch. Really wish I chose something else. Placed an online order at 11:45 am. Received confirmation that it would be ready in 25 minutes so waited a bit before heading over. Walked in at 12:05 was told it would be another 10 minutes, was fine with that. Didn't get my food until almost 12:30 and this is what I received. The sandwich was burnt and cold. The Mac and cheese balls which appeared to be the hold up, were falling apart and lukewarm at best. I'm less than a 5 minute walk so didn't expect it to be that cold. The sandwich was completely inedible. Was able to salvage some Mac from it but that was it. Didn't have time bring it back as my lunch hour was over. I was the only one in there for the duration of my visit. I think it's going to be a long time before I return, if ever.

So, I ordered the shrimp Mac& cheese. It was no shortage of shrimp! Also I had the jerk wings I especially loved the fact there was a dry rub,,unlike the wet and juicy jerk I'm use to. It was a delightful surprise and well seasoned . Looking foward to my next food adventure

Pretty terrible but the max was edible. I came late in a Friday night and was told they were out of all kinds of chicken (chicken wings, drumsticks, thighs). The wings I could understand bc there is a shortage but the others not really. So instead I ordered the baked salmon (after being advised the jerk salmon was salty) and classic Mac combo. It was ready pretty quickly and the size of the max was very big, the salmon was an appropriate portion size. The salmon was DISGUSTING like the fishiest, palest salmon I've ever tried. I literally couldn't bring myself to eat it. I tried putting some of my homemade brown stew sauce on it and still all I could taste was tank fishiness. The max looked the part but needed salt and more flavor and I'm not someone who likes salty things. It was also dripping oil but it is Mac and cheese so oil is to be expected. I jazzed it up at home and it was better. I clearly wouldn't return and would advise against going.

I'm a sucker for mac and cheese, so I luckily stumbled upon Mac Shack. It's a small little shop serving mac and cheese heaven. You can build your own bowl, or you can select from one of their premade selections. You can even get a baby sized mac and cheese, but it's just the classic with one topping. I got the IN THE BUFF. It really was a lot of food. The buffalo chicken was done nicely. The flavors were great, and I thought the chips instead of typical breadcrumbs added a great flavor and texture. If I lived in Philly I'd be frequenting a lot more often!

Pleasantly surprised by Mac Shack. I was craving buffalo mac and cheese (aka the best type of Mac and Cheese) and just looked around on doordash. It was so delicious and hit all the spots. Craving satisfied, highly recommend! If you're a party of one or 2...get the small! I was on the fence because I didn't look at the sizing and now that I see some of the pictures, looks like it could feed a whole party.

Terrible service for decent food. TL;DR 110 minutes for two orders of mac and two sides of spinach. Only 10 minutes of that was delivery time. I ordered through their own website, and got a confirmation email at 5:25pm saying 25 minutes. Actual delivery time was 7:15pm. Apparently they use doordash for delivery when you order direct. At 5:52 I got a text from the dasher saying "They say your order won't be ready until 15 minutes later but I'm waiting". No big deal. I said "Thank you." At 6:08 I got an update saying "I believe these people are chatting only here they don't even do your order. If you could call them that would suit me since I took time here they haven't even made your order until now". This seemed unusual to me, I've never had a delivery person ask me to get involved in speeding up the restaurant, but my daughter and I were really hungry so I called the restaurant and politely asked about the order. They said something hard to hear about why the spinach was delayed and said it would be ready "soon" and offered me a free drink. I said ok lemonade thank you, and texted the dasher "I called them, they apologized, say it will be ready soon." At 6:25 the dasher texted again (an hour after my order, and 37 minutes after first texting me from the restaurant) saying "I'm sorry but I have to cancel the order since so far he hasn't started making the order". Who keeps a delivery person waiting that long? The restaurant was not reaching out to me, and the doordash tracker page was still showing the order in process, but no dasher assigned to it anymore. At 6:37 I called the restaurant again and before I had finished saying "I'm calling to check on my order" the guy interrupted me to say "Yes Paul I know I know." He kept cutting me off with excuses: they had a lot of other orders, they had to process a big delivery at the same time, and something I couldn't understand about why the spinach side order was a problem. I said the dasher had told me he was canceling. The person on the phone claimed there was a dasher still there waiting. This was a blatant lie. He was still making excuses and interrupting me, finally I lost my temper and said "It's been over an hour, stop talking and get me my food" and hung up on them. By 6:45 the tracking page showed a new dasher had been assigned. By 7:00 I could see the new dasher was at the restaurant - and still waiting for the order! 7:08 I reloaded and it said the order had finally left the restaurant. Food finally arrived 7:15. One hour and fifty minutes. I've seen feature films shorter than that. They tried to make up for the lateness with two pieces of free cake. Nice gesture, but it was dry and bland. The mac was fine, not bad, interesting flavor combinations but really nothing special. Definitely not worth the wait. At least it arrived warm, somehow. The spinach side was pretty good, very buttery.

The train ride here was shorter than the time it took me to get my food, so if you want to try them out make sure you allow extra time. It's very small and only a few stools to sit which isn't a deal breaker, just take your food to go. The food was absolutely delicious. Chicken and Mac n cheese was perfect. I would recommend checking them out if you have the time. They did however run out of the chicken wings I wanted so I had to substitute for something I really didn't want. Die to the long wait, I wouldn't return too often. Seems a bit slow and unorganized for a quick take out spot.

This review is based on delivery from Mac Shack through Postmates. Delivery took about an hour, but this is the estimate that they gave me so it was not unexpected. I ordered the Mac combo that included 2 pieces of chicken and Mac and cheese. I opted for BBQ flavor but there was an option for jerk or baked. The BBQ flavor was really good and I dipped some of my Mac into the chicken just to get that flavor. It came with a leg and a thigh (could've been a small breast, idk). The chicken was flavorful but there wasn't enough meat on the bones in my opinion. The BBQ sauce was really the best part. The Mac and cheese was good, and pretty cheesy, but not as flavorful as I prefer. The crust had a good amount of flavor and seasoning and that made it taste better. I may give it another chance and try one of the different Mac flavors like seafood or chicken, but that's it.

Too much grease, but delicious. Meat Lovers Mac & Cheese. There was ground beef, chicken, bacon, and pepperoni slices that made it extra greasy. It's a really heavy dish, that you will need after smoking marijuana or drinking.

This Meat Mac and cheese was so good I can't wait to go back to this place. Definitely worth the ride and price.

I was excited to try this place after I heard it was black-owned! I wish I would have looked at the reviews before I came. I'm very disappointed! When ordering my food the cashier told me it would 15-20 mins no problem. I got my food 45 mins later! I didn't say anything because things happen. I ordered the Brooklyn North and 12 piece wings. The Mac and cheese was bland no seasoning what to ever! My BF ordered the jerk mac I believe and that was good. I went to eat my wings and they was all PINK INSIDE! Soo you mean to tell me I waited 45 mins and you gave me uncooked wings!? This place is definitely not worth it and I will not be back!

The wings man! I actually had low hopes for them. At first, they looked a little dry but wow they were juicy and tender! The Mac and cheese was good too!

Three barbecue wings with macaroni. Wish they were more wings. Or you could add more meat. It was a decent . This was the kids meal wings. Daffy Duck Mac n cheese was good, just tooooooooo greasy.

I ordered the small Fulton Mac for delivery and I was shocked when it arrived. The small was HUGE. And the Mac hit all the spots - gooey, flavorful, melty. It's the perfect Mac and cheese. So yummy

I ordered the basic Mac with chicken -- I believe it was the combo #1. Mac was just ok. Not enough cheese. Only on the top. Chicken was not good.

3.5 stars rounded up. I loved the BBQ mac and cheese. +the flavor +the breadcrumb topping +the portion size (it was big enough that it served as two meals). The negative? -the chicken It was glazed in BBQ sauce which was pretty tasty but lord was that chicken dry. It was almost to the point of being inedible. Looked good, flavor was good but it just became crumbles from how dry it was. Bleh. I'm sure there will be a next time so I'll make sure to order it sans chicken.

Huge fan of the truffle mac here -- both the regular and vegan versions are on point! Sometimes, it seems they forget to add salt... but I don't mind. Portions are great here -- the small is enough for two, but perfect for one (if you wanna go HAM lol). The staff is always friendly, but they lose a star for a couple of reasons: - Wait times: The wait for pickup and delivery time can take FOREVER. The estimated times are usually off. And they seem to struggle to process orders on high volume days. - Inconsistent: I went for vegan mac on the weekend once and was told that it was only available Mon - Fri... but then ordered it online on a weekend and it was available. I recommend this place often and will continue to come back. Their chicken is also really good! Highly recommend the mac and chicken combo.

Something has changed - the taste/flavor of the food is definitely lacking. It's actually a little upsetting and beyond disappointing. For this reason i stopped buying food here about 6 months ago. I decided to try again (hey, its a new year). But NO! I was wrong again, nothing changed. My mac was burnt - severely. There was no cheese. Just a bunch of chopped up/dry pieces of bland jerk chicken. I fell in love with this place in the beginning. I don't know who/what has changed things, but i can't keep wasting money. Last time (summer 2015) i ordered seafood mac and that was not cheap at all. Burnt and wasted. Smh Lesson learned. No more. Don't waste your time and money here. I'm so disappointed. At least i tried again.

Omg definitely a comfort food!!!! So yummy The cheeses are perfect and the dish comes fresh from the oven. You'll love the seasonings and flavors!!! P.S. The small can feed 3 hungry people

I was in the neighborhood and saw their macaroni and cheese displays and prices set outside and decided to walk inside and give it shot. My sister and I order the Combo #1 which is Mac and cheese with two piece of chicken with the choice of your sauce I did BBQ alongside with a strawberry lemonade and a mango iced tea. The service was quick took about 15 minutes and the men were very kind and helpful. The minute you walk in it smells great so I was so excited to try my food. The serving size was absolutely filling ! You get a great amount of Mac and cheese and juicy chicken. The lemonade had a perfect balance of sweetness and sour. My sister said her food and mango iced tea was delicious as well. Really love this spot can't wait to come back and try other things on their menu. The place Is small and quaint so it's good to grab and go and sit at a park. Overall I loved this spot, delicious food, great portions, huge variety, cheesy, juicy, great drinks and great service.

Searched: best Mac and cheese in Brooklyn and this was one of the results so I decided to try it. I got the salmon and mac lunch combo. Dexter was a very friendly and personable host who made sure I knew all the options and hand delivered my food to me outside where we have to wait due to COVID. Food was very tasty, salmon was seasoned well and tender and the Mac was delicious. I want to try the wings next time since that's a popular menu item. As far as best in Brooklyn, I'm gonna have to say soco has them beat on the Mac but if you're on a budget and don't have time for a full sit down meal and just want something quick then this is a good option for good quality baked Mac and cheese.

To the owners. Take care of your staff and they will take care of your customers.. supporting black employees is equally important as supporting any black business. Please get the door fixed so that your staff doesn't have to endure the cold breeze, not draft but breeze that floods the store. Food lit tho no objections with that. Just get your staff right please

It's really a shack.. Meaning that it's really small. It gets full very quick. But the mac is so good! I had the... $9 for a good size pan! I had enough for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. It does take a little while, thankfully I had a longer lunch break when I came here or I would've been screwed. Take your mac to go. I would come here again but definitely calling ahead first.

My first time ordering from this restaurant. The food is delicious. Due to delivery issues, my food was cold when it arrived. I recommend this spot.

Great service great no excellent customer service. Food was on point. Mac was amazing very cheesy and very well portioned they definitely give you your money's worth. Black owned which is a plus. Great location as well. Sweet and spicy wings was amazing as well.

I've eaten here in the past and was really craving mac and cheese. I also wanted to help out a small business during this coronavirus crisis. However, I was only happy with one of my four orders. The first picture was tasty. The others were either too salty or too greasy. It was quite disappointing.

All I can say is this restaurant has been my happy place. As a person who moved from ATL and is still adjusting to the NYC lifestyle. Mac Shack has been nothing but an amazing spot for me to get my comfort foods from. There is such a great amount of staff. Geat customer service especially the young gentleman who is the cashier that really helped me decide whats the best condiments and food to get. He is very well-mannered, well trained, very kind. Not a lot of people has been very welcome like him. I really enjoy the lobster mac & cheese and the wings. Honestly my go to type of thing. I've already told my people down in ATL about this restaurant and honestly you can expect a bunch of orders coming up soon. I plan on throwing a get together this upcoming month and hoping to cater from this restaurant.

Thank god for this place, hands down the mac and cheese I have ever had, creamy/gooey with a perfect crust. The medium which they call a small is the perfect size for two or even yourself fo spilt amounts days! You have to get the Brooklyn South or the Truffle mac and cheese. The staff here are helpful and friendly, especially Andrew who patiently waited for me when i was late for picking up my order.

Super disappointed here tonight. I haven't ordered here in awhile because of diet restrictions. Decided to treat myself only to find 1/2 my order was canceled. Mac Shack should've reached out, I would've added something else. Now my dinner is only an appetizer. They also only adjust the total, not the tip. If you're tipping a % on the total and the total changes, the tip should too.

I was walking by after a dentist appointment, mouth numb and all, but I saw a food place dedicated to Mac and Cheese and say no more! So glad I stopped and dined in. Ordered the 4 wings (sweet & spicy bbq) and classic Mac lunch special and it was delicious & savory. I'm gonna bring my friends when they visit and act like I'm a regular cause that is what I'll be!

Heard about this place from the community so I went and checked it out. I ordered classic Mac and cheese with broccoli. Waiting 30 mins and Mac and cheese was bland. No salt , no pepper and broccoli was undercooked. Very disappointed especially this being a black owned business. I'll stick with S'MAC in manhattan. They always get it right .

So I ordered a pan of Mac and cheese from here for an event. I placed the order online which you can't do until they are actually open. It was a simple process. I should've put the order in later because they had it done around 1 ish and I had put notes that I wanted it done by 3. They called when it was ready which was around 1:30/1:45. I think it was completed within a hour of me placing the order online. The location was super cute and quaint. I received great customer service when picking up my order. There wasn't a lot of sitting room when I went to pick up the Mac & Cheese. It smelled really good and I was tempted to try it out before we got to the event but I decided against that. The Mac & Cheese was really good. It wasn't dry and it had the right amount of cheese in it. The cheese on top was golden brown and on the inside it was gooey. It had the perfect consistency. I definitely went back for seconds after tasting it and maybe 3rds.

Was in the area for training. Thought I would try them out due to the raving reviews on yelp. Placed my order the lunch special which was salmon with a side of Mac and cheese. I was told it would be 25 mins which was a lot but i figured my food is being made fresh. So after taking a walk my food was ready. I decided to eat in store and after the first bite I regretted my whole lunch decision. The fish was cold and flavorless with barely a sprinkling of old bay along with the mac and cheese that needed salt and some more love it didn't make any sense. They have a lot of options but maybe I chose the wrong thing but I will never return to try something else. I didn't finish my meal and ended up throwing it out. I hate throwing out food but I didn't want to subject anyone else to the food because of how flavorless it was.

Good eats! The mac and cheese has great flavor and I love the other gourmet selections as well as the daily specials (wish I tried the Taco Mac n' cheese the other night!). Equally as good is their homemade iced tea - like competition with Mommy good iced tea. There's lots of people in and out whenever I come through, which is a good sign. Met some people who came back there from the city for the food again. The service can take some adjusting, but they're brand new so with that comes some growing pains. In a way the fact that it's not lightening fast is good - that way we know they're attending to each order personally, and if you're gonna be a small yet gourmet-style business I ain't mad at that. Call ahead and order!

Very good food as it was made to order. The curry mac was great, the cheese burger mac was okay, Brooklyn South was not that good but the Meat Lovers was the BEST!
