Macaroni Joe's

My wife and I don't stop by Amarillo often but we had a opportunity to stop by for a quick appetizer while the restaurant was slow. (disclaimer: major place for wine but the wife and I aren't drinkers any longer. Selection looked decent at first glance) The servers were knowledable and absolutely a treasure to deal with. The ambiance of the whole place is a low-lit pleasure, from the candle lit tables to the Italian-streetcorner feel of the rooms. On to brass tacks, the food: I can only guess what the rest of the menu is like from the calamari but let me say.. I've had squid in all different cuts from at least 30 different restaurants throughout the states..This was the most tender calamari I've ever had. They use cutlets from the bell which is a much different experience to the normal calamari rings you get in Texas. The price was very reasonable for the quantity received. We decided to share an order of Cajun pasta, to which our server brought it to us in perfectly sized bowls for each of us. A delightfully creamy, slightly spicy, tomato-base pasta with grilled shrimp. Delicious. I short, this place is a dream. Absolutely recommend and will be back.

What a great place for a reunion of old friends. We were greeted by a curry nice young man who took us to our table. Our waitress was great the wine wine steward, forgive me for the incorrect spelling, Llyam was great with our choice of a nice Italian wine. The FM Shannon cane or more than once greeted us and checked with us about our experience. Wonderful. The food was plentiful and very reasonably priced. We stayed with beef tacos which were a great. I ordered the Wahoo fish which I had never heard of and truly enjoyed it. The Bourbon carrots and mix vegetables for the sides. Just great. Every thing was spit on and I am sure I will be back. Thank you everyone for making my trip and visit a very memorable experience.

This review isn't about the food, the ambiance, or the low prices but all of the above are true. I want you to know about the kind of business you are supporting. My son, Liam worked for Mac Joe's through high school and beyond. He had dreams of being a chef (among other things.) Tragically, he passed away at age 20 last May. I had to call his boss and break the news. Immediately, Shannon and Jeremy, reached out to find out how they could help. They truly meant it. I was obviously useless in any sense. His death was unexpected and Mac Joe's knew that Liam worked hard and he helped me and his Nana when we needed it. They'd even allowed Liam to keep veggies that weren't used or going bad for my pet pig. They all knew Liam's story. I waited a while before holding Liam's Celebration of Life. When I asked Shannon for venue suggestions, she simply said, "We'd love to do that for you. We just bought a new venue and Jeremy (head chef and caterer) will happily make finger food." That took the world off of my shoulders. It was a beautiful service. They've hung Liam's photo over his station in the kitchen. I've never known of another business to do such personal and loving things for an employee. I wanted everyone reading this to know that this business not only pours their hearts and souls into the incredible food, they empower their employees and truly love them like family. Just enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Macaroni Joe's! One of the truly special restaurants in Amarillo. Their atmosphere is phenomenal, the food is always delicious, and the wait staff are the best. They know how to make dining out a memorable, fun and special experience. Very consistent and always enjoyable!

Loved trying a new place. Macaroni Joe's food and atmosphere was great. I had the chicken spagetti (added olives) and my boyfriend had the red salmon. We also got the steak taco appetizer. Everything was so great!!! I would highly recommend

Never heard of this place, then we were given a gift card so we decided to try it out! But was also unaware you had to have Reservations!!! But we were able to get seats in the bar area!! The waitress was very friendly and helpful making suggestions from the menu from appetizers to entrees!!! Food was excellent, service was amazing. The only thing I can say negatively was prices were high for what we ate. Needless to say if we go back to Amarillo I would definitely eat there again. Just make sure to get reservations next time!!!

A wonderful birthday dinner experience! Brandi was our server, she was charming, attentive, and made the experience just that much better! She deserves the recognition! The food was top notch and the atmosphere was unique and memorable! If we ever find ourselves in Amarillo again, Macaroni Joes will be at the top of the list of restaurants to go to! Keep up the great work, you made my birthday dinner an awesome one!

I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing this establishment is. Food was the best food I’ve had. And the service was excellent. The atmosphere felt like we were in Italy, love how dimly lit the place was. I will definitely be back! Gage was our waiter and he was so kind and professional, never let our drinks run out.
