My wife and I came here for my birthday, even at 11 o clock on a Wednesday, within 30min they had already served about 30 people! Quick service, friendly staff and if you’re unsure on what to get, get a combination of meats! You can’t go wrong with anything! Also the bread pudding is amazing! Have been waiting to come here for some time and I’ll definitely be coming back in the future!

Everything was wonderful. If you like a wonderful barbecue this is the place for you I'm glad we took the time to drive away away to eat here definitely worth it

Some of the best in Oklahoma We arrived at the restaurant a little after 2PM and they had sold out of ribs, chicken and turkey. So, it was beef, pork and sausage for me on the large 3 meat meal. Certainly some of the best tasting, tender, juicy smoked meats I have had in Oklahoma. The sides (beans and potato salad) were also very good. The portions were good for meats and sides. I am not a fan of the sweet syrupy BBQ sauces you typically find in Oklahoma, but their hot BBQ sauce is decent.

Ok, let me first say that I am not even a big fan of BBQ! But this place is a 10 star! Stopped here for a bite to eat before a fishing trip and was so impressed! My husband got an insanely huge sandwich and I got sliced brisket with sides (potato salad and macaroni and cheese both on point!). The service was fantastic and our food was ready seconds after we paid. Also, what a CUTE spot! It looks unassuming from outside but the atmosphere is great. Prices were very, very reasonable for the amount of food. 100% can’t wait to stop here again when we head that way! With love from Tulsa!

Google
Best place for bbq in the Tulsa area! Always great service, clean and enough portions to share! I start eating before I remember to take a picture!

Google
Good bbq joint. Not really too my flavors since i like a different flavor but i can see how people like this place. I got the chopped beef, ribs, turkey, chicken leg, and pulled pork. Pulled pork and ribs were the best meats. I would say to use the sauce to make it better.

J. Damian

Google
Ribs, brisket, pulled pork. Ribs were delicious good combo with dry rub and slightly sticky. Pulled pork was very tender but needed a touch more seasoning. Brisket had a great cook to it needed a touch more smoke and salt. Pinto beans will rival most Mexican food places, ie top notch. The cowboy hash browns were good but i am not always a fan of potatoes. Definitely eat again.

Mac's Barbeque Preview: Savor the rich, smoky flavors at Mac's in Skiatook, where each bite of perfectly seasoned meat takes Oklahoma barbecue to the next level. Final Score: 53/60 Excellent Barbecue is the beloved food of Oklahoma, so much so that loyalty to a favorite spot can make all others feel like blasphemy. Mac's, a staple in Skiatook since 1985, was originally founded by Mike McMillan. Today, it's in the hands of Adam Green, a military veteran and smoke master who has elevated barbecue to new heights. Under Adam’s leadership, Mac’s recently won the Tulsa World BBQ Bracket Contest, with “Mac’s Mafia” showing up in full force to support. Adam’s dedication to hard work and passion for his craft shine through in every dish. He brings creativity to barbecue with unique flavor profiles that go far beyond traditional smoked meats. Each visit has revealed new seasonings; honey, coriander, cumin, rosemary, and thyme all adding depth to his incredible creations. With Mac’s recent competition victory, it was the perfect time for a formal review. So, let’s see what’s smokin’ let’s eat! Smoked Turkey The depth of smoke Adam achieves with each bite is impressive. Every mouthful perfectly fuses the smoky flavor with the delicate seasoning of the turkey. The meat is incredibly juicy, with the smoke and seasoning so well integrated throughout the breast that I initially thought it had been brined. However, I later learned that this remarkable flavor is purely the result of Adam’s smoking expertise. Chicken Leg Much like the breast, the leg offers a perfect balance of smoke and seasoning. Each bite falls off the bone, delivering initial bursts of rich salt, paprika, and pepper, followed by tender, smoky chicken. The finish is a delightful blend of chicken fat and skin that coats the palate beautifully. Pork Ribs The ribs offer a tender yet slightly firm texture, providing a pleasing contrast in each bite. Once again, the balance of smoke, seasoning, and meat is masterfully executed. The flavor journey begins with a burst of seasoning, transitions to the richness of the pork, and finishes with a perfect touch of smoke. Pulled pork The pulled pork was the most delicate in terms of smoke and seasoning with an emphasis on the pork flavor. It was tender and juicy. Jalapeno and Cheddar Polish Sausage Each bite delivers the rich, savory flavor of sausage, followed by sharp cheddar and smoke in the middle, and finishing with the subtle heat of jalapeño. The blend of flavors elevates this sausage far beyond the traditional smoked variety. Sides: Coleslaw, Potato Salad, BBQ Beans The coleslaw is bold and unapologetic. Its creamy sauce is perfectly balanced with the crisp slaw, delivering an intense hit of garlic and cream that gives way to the fresh flavor of the cabbage, creating a beautifully counterbalanced palate experience. It's a powerful combination. The potato salad, featuring eggs, leans on the creamy side with chunks of potato and a mild tang from mustard and dressing. The beans aren’t overly sweet, offering a smoky barbecue flavor with bits of chewy meat. The green beans have a classic profile, seasoned with smoke and salt. Overall: Mac's is truly a barbecue mecca for its loyal "mafia" and all of Oklahoma. Adam's mastery of the smoking process and his innovation with proteins set him apart. His weekly specials, featuring items like redfish, half chickens, salmon, and beef ribs, go beyond the traditional pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. This creativity allows Adam to explore new flavors rather than focusing solely on one barbecue style, such as Carolina or Texas. By doing so, he offers something fresh in a field that often clings to tradition without moving forward. Until next time, friends—let’s eat! Final score: 53/60 Excellent

Yelp
This is a great place for take-out and it is super fast. I literally was in and out within 10 minutes of getting out of my car, placing the order and grabbing the to-go bag. I love the old school feel of this place where you get white bread and raw onions and peppers. Their standard sauce (on the side, of course) is the right amount of sweet and spicy. I ordered the full 3-meat (hot links, sliced brisket and pulled pork) and a half order of turkey, sliced brisket and pulled pork. We got two sides each and they were large enough that we only ate a single serving of the campfire potatoes and beans (which are both delicious). Sorry no pics of the food because we were starving and ate it promptly.

Yelp
A friend of mine suggested I pick up food here after my son's basketball games. It was getting dark and I drove right by the first time. I ordered 2 family packs. One with Ribs, the other with pulled pork. Added a pound of polish sausage. Choose beans, corn on the cob, pasta salad, and campfire potatoes. They just ran out of campfire potatoes so hope to try that next time we are in town. They brought it to me quick, 10 minutes! Everything smelled so good, was hot, fresh and flavorful.

Yelp
Today I had the pleasure to get taken to Mac's in Skiatook, OK. Walking in I was surprised how small it was inside. But you know what they say, big things come in small packages and boy do they! I love the whole order at the counter and get a number vibe. I got the 3 meat combo with ribs, sliced brisket, and pulled pork. For the sides, I got campfire potatoes and cole slaw. If I could give this place 10 stars, I totally would. Everything was full of flavor and moist. My brisket was fatty in all the best ways! I tried all the sauces, they were amazing, but I found myself not really needing any. Here's the thing though. I would kidnap someone's child for those campfire potatoes! If I had one knock it would be on the cole slaw. It was a little sweet, but the crunch on the veg was on point! I also love the free for all pepperoncini's and onions.

Yelp
I honestly hate giving bad reviews but me and my wife both ate at the location at Cain's ballroom Last night and 8 hours later we both woke up sick. We shared a meal chopped brisket sandwich and ribs. *update 5:40pm The other couple that we met and ate their with also experienced bad stomach problems, All resulted the same outcome nausea, and diarrhea 4 out of 4 people so this wasn't a fluke.

Yelp
One of the best BBQ places in Oklahoma! My favorites are their chicken legs, smoked turkey, and ribs.

Logan M.

Yelp
Great local barbecue! The service is always phenomenal with great tasting fresh barbecue. The brisket and ribs are always on point, And their campfire potato's are one of a kind.

Yelp
Food quality and availability- quality is as good or better than anyone in the greater Tulsa area. The availability is all day long: not half day. Service style is counter order customer pickup self service but the order to pickup is very quick. Ambiance is very casual but their customer base is very comfortable with this arrangement. Pricing is very comparable to competition. Parking is somewhat challenging during normal mealtimes.

Deana G.

Yelp
A Lot ! The servings are a smaller each time Go , When his Father Own it. He was always Consistent in his Portions , The Business isn't as Clean, the Service is lacking, in their Concern if the Customer is Please . It has some need for Kindness to Their in side Customers. The Drive Thur , seems to be Better.

Yelp
Awesome BBQ - have eaten there several times since this summer. Ribs, pulled pork, bologna, campfire potatoes, Beans, all are great ! Slaw is fine - but I'm not a fan of slaw for the most part.

Yelp
We've been going to Mac's for years. The owners, the foods, what they do for the community is all amazing. We are forever customers. The renovation they did to the inside looks so good!

Yelp
If you're looking for some authentic BBQ in Oklahoma Mac's Barbeque is the place! I ordered a 1/2 order of ribs with campfire potatoes & corn. The ribs were great, a little bit gristly but they were FULL of flavor. The sides were great, campfire potatoes were deliciously cheesy! I'm usually not a huge fan of BBQ sauce but you MUST try the hot BBQ sauce on whatever you order! It enhanced the flavor of the meat & added a little bit of heat that I love. If you're in Skiatook & craving BBQ I'd definitely give Mac's a try!
google avatar

Barbie R.

Yelp
You order at the counter and the service was friendly. The space is used well for seating and decorated on theme and with family photos. We tried the chopped beef, pulled pork, and ribs which came with two sides. All the meat was good quality. The beef and pork needed sauce otherwise the flavor was too faint. The ribs were seasoned so well. They aren't very meaty so I would get double ribs next time and skip the chopped beef. There is an up charge for the ribs. The Cowboy potatoes were good-cheesy hash brown style-all soft-no crisp. I would prefer them without the onion-although the big chunks were easy to pull put.

Yelp
While traveling thru Skiatook,Ok, stop my Mac's for BBQ. Well it was ok, they don't carry Beef Ribs so beginning with 5 stars, I deducted a point, so I ordered chopped beef, it was chopped to almost a ground beef consistency, now that's weird, so I feduct d a half a point, so the final rating was a 3.5. The coleslaw was chilled, crunchy and sweet, so that was good, the BBQ sauce was pretty good with a choice between mild and hot, the mild sauce was sweet, they should add more green veggies as a side and add beef ribs to land in the realm of 4 to 4.5

Jeff M.

Yelp
I had been told about this place from friends and it lived up to the hype. The pulled pork was fantastic and my son, who doesn't like bbq sauce, insisted on putting the bbq sauce on his pork. The ribs were probably the best that I've ever had. It was well worth the drive from Nevada.

Charles Y.

Yelp
As it was our first time we ordered a variety of items in order to assess if this was a keeper. IT'S A KEEPER. The BBQ was very good, very very good and it didn't last long. We had pulled pork, sliced brisket, ribs and hot link. Not a bad thing to say about any of them. Flavorful, well prepared. We got an order to go in Skiatook and took it to the lake for a picnic. If I had any criticism it would be the packaging. Not really made for travel. We did bulk meat purchases. We had campfire potatoes (as recommended by others) and BBQ Beans for sides. Both also a hit. I previously had the Messy Pig sandwich at the Cains Ballroom and it was also good. If you are looking for good BBQ and equally good sides, look no further.

Diane W.

Yelp
I had a chop beef sandwich. It was so amazing. The smoky taste the tangy barbecue sauce. I will definitely be back the place with spotless and the service was wonderful. My only grip would be and it's not really a gripe as I wish they had DoorDash because I would definitely Order a lot more..

Yelp
One of the best BBQ spots around these parts of rural Oklahoma, the brisket is on point!
google avatar

Yelp
Great bbq spot! Staff is always friendly and the food is consistently great. I recommend the ribs, the hot links, the bbq beans, and the brisket frito pies!
google avatar

Zach D.

Yelp
BBQ: Hit or miss... This was a hit! I was in town and it was between Ron's and Macs so I tried Macs...the place is small and everyone is friendly. They have beer and music...so first two bonus points! The three meat combo was my go to. Ribs, Sliced Beef & Chicken breast. BBQ beans and Campfire potatoes. All were perfectly seasoned, I asked for no sauce just on the side and the Hot sauce and regular were very good. A good place for some great food! Stop in sometime and try it out!
google avatar

Cheryl T.

Yelp
It's your simple, backyard bbq style restaurant! The brisket is amazing! If you looking for a 3 course meal this would not be my option are. If you looking for a lite lunch absolutely!

Katy C.

Yelp
Best BBQ in Oklahoma Food is amazing (tried the salmon!!) and the staff is friendly!
google avatar

Donna H.

Yelp
They have a loyal following, but I am not one of them. I like a deeply smoky flavor and they don't have any smoky flavor. The have mild and hot sauce, which don't say BBQ sauce to me. I liked the Baked beans okay, but I wouldn't have them again. Potato salad was good. My sister and brother in law had ribs and they looked beautiful. They are Mac's fans and would give them a 5. If you like Burn Co. BBQ, you will not like Mac's. The place is a little cleaner than last time.

Lar K.

Yelp
Good ol' Texas style bbq. Place order and pick up food type off place, fill n refill your own drinks. I'm not much inclined to tip when I do all the leg work. Great Que, a no frills bbq joint.
google avatar

Olivia S.

Yelp
Best barbecue in the state of Oklahoma, hands down! Best food, friendly staff and atmosphere! You'll love it! Worth every penny.

Wayne T.

Yelp
Amazing menu for all of your hunger needs, Friendly staff with great customer service.

Yelp
I got a chopped beef sandwich from the drive through yesterday. Man, this chopped beef is the real deal. It was moist without being greasy and perfectly smoked. There was much more mean than bun. I'd like to get back and try their ribs, because they looked fantastic. I'm keeping this place saved in my maps so I'll always know it's in Skiatook.

Debbie M.

Yelp
Good food and everybody always nice and helpful. Ample amounts of food and if you go early their cobbler is aewsome

Linda H.

Yelp
Awesome food and service! They just recently remodeled and it looks so nice inside! Everything I have eaten there has been great! A couple of items I have never tried because they sell out so quick! Is the burnt ends and the Nanny sandwich! I've never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. Highly Recommend!

Yelp
It's the hole-in-the-wall charm, supported by tasty menu items, that make Mac's Barbeque a destination in Skiatook. Located near the high school, this small restaurant is Big on taste! Expect a line from order counter to door. Politeness is a must as seating is limited to no more than 40-45, and a friendly shuffle and side-step keeps patrons moving gently from dining seats to retrieve their food. BBQ meats are on point, but I was most impressed by the bbq beans. Just something special is contained in small servings of this must-have side! Also, Mac's campfire potatoes best a similar side at Cracker Barrel. Oh! And their marinated/pickled onions are Wonderful. Don't worry, standard onion and peperoncini are available with the slice of white bread. One perk of supporting a small businesses was the owner making rounds and checking on our tables. This personal touch is a rarity in large businesses. Makes me want to come back and support the business again. Inside decor is comfortable, and an eclectic combination of industrial with burnished wood. The food is served on small jelly roll pans, and the trash-tray reception area is designed like an outhouse. Great sense of humor! Tables and chairs make hodge-podge-lodge look complete

Yelp
Started off a little worried, because the young lady at the cash register was pretty curt, no smiles, but not rude...I think she was just tired...Took is a bit to figure out exactly what we wanted...which appeared to be an irritant to her, but she took our order efficiently and in less than 5 minutes our food was at the window to pick up. There were 4 of us, so we opted for a big rib package (full slab +3 pints of sides) and another 1/2 lb of pulled pork....it was awesome, and we took home a bunch of pork and several ribs, and sides. BBQ beans were delicious with meat and onions and peppers and super flavor, great Mac n Cheese and cheesy potatoes were another tasty surprise. Casual dining, eat off a tray, but we each had a paper boat. Onions, pickled onions and peppers at the counter bar...and dinners served with white bread and butter (upon request) Fill your own water/tea, fountains behind the counter. We hadn't been here in probably 10 years, but it used to be one of our faves, and it was as good as ever!! Great food, good value, I'm a happy camper.

Yelp
As I'm sure every local says about their family-owned barbecue restaurant, Mac's is the best in the business. More than once I've heard of people driving for miles to eat there. In all their years of business, I've never had a bad meal. And their sides are fabulous!

Yelp
First time eating here. Got the 3 meat combo with 2 sides: ribs, ham, and sliced beef; corn on the cob and baked beans for the side. Liked the ribs, it's fatty. The sliced beef and ham are a little dried. Sides are ok. Corn on the cob taste a little bland, needs some sugar or something. Love the soda drinks, it comes in a bottle. Soda just taste better in a bottle for some reason.

Yelp
Excellent smoked turkey! Pecan wood is used here -- great flavor!

Yelp
We travel all over the US and it's very hard to beat Mac's, and we've been to some very popular BBQ joints such as Rudy's in Amarillo, TX to name a closer one. Mac's is so much better! We feel very lucky to live 10 mins from it! If you are traveling make sure you stop in for the best BBQ you will ever eat!

Yelp
Mac's is the best in Oklahoma. My favorite is the Ribs the meat falls of of the bone. Their campfire potatoes are my favorite side.

Yelp
Saw Mac's BBQ in a Tulsa World article a few weeks ago about back road restaurants in Oklahoma, so decided to give them a try. This is a tiny restaurant with about a dozen tables. There is one long table if you were to come with a larger group. As soon as you walk in, your met with a sweet, smoky smell that fills the air and know that this is real deal barbecue. I ordered a combo plate that comes with 3 meats and 2 sides. I asked if I could get ribs as one of the meats and was disappointed to learn they were sold out of ribs. Ended up getting sliced brisket, turkey and a hot link with campfire potatoes and barbecued beans. She ordered a chicken leg dinner, campfire potatoes & corn on the cob. Our order was ready in about five minutes. They call your number and you pick up at the counter. There is another counter where you can get your own peppers & onions. The sliced brisket was cut from the lean flat of the brisket, but was still moist and tender. All the meats had a mild smoke flavor which didn't overpower the meat. She said her chicken also had a light smoke flavor and was very juicy and she loved the campfire potatoes. If you're ever passing through Skiatook and need some good barbecue, stop in at Mac's. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
This place has fantastic Barbeque and sides. It is so worth the drive to Skiatook. I have more favorites than I want to list. The ribs are excellent! Try the Okie a Barbeque version of a philly cheese steak. For quite awhile all I could order was the Barbeque Frito Pie. Don't forget to try the campfire potatoes. They are like a potatoes au gratin. So good! You must make the drive for some of the best Barbeque in the area and the state.
google avatar

Terry S.

Yelp
Wow! Three meat platter. Brisket, pulled pork and some of the best ribs I've ever eaten. The owner took me back and showed me the process. Everything is smoked over pecan. This place is good!!!!!!!!!

Donna B.

Yelp
This is a great place to grab a good pork, beef, turkey, hot link, Etc, sandwich or dinner with the fixin's , .., the green beans are very good... paid $5.50 a pint... very rustic in side.. it's all about the home cooked food here. The tables need to be cleaned off more often, thus the three and not a four rating.

Kim F.

Yelp
We came home for a family gathering and had Macs cater. It was incredible. Everyone raved about how good everything was. Even the picky eaters went back for seconds. And I cannot say enough about their cobblers. Delicious! Stop stressing and let them cater. Best decision ever! Thank you Mac's for making everything so perfect Kim
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
Mac's has been a staple in my family for as long as I can remember. When I moved away, coming home meant going to eat Mac's at least twice during the visit. Since the change of ownership a few years ago, Mac's is still just as rad. Adam as done an amazing job keeping it the iconic spot it's always been!

Yelp
Best ribs I have eaten anywhere. Reasonably priced. Big Rib Dinner is the bomb. Their potatoes are great. Worth the drive from Tulsa for the best barbecue around.
google avatar

Kyle T.

Yelp
Ordered the 3 meat combo with ribs, sliced brisket and pulled pork. It came with 2 sides of choice, I picked bbq beans and potato salad. The meat was delicious and had a really good hickory smoked flavor. Used the hot bbq sauce, it is vinegar based and had food flavor. Beans had chunks of meat and potato salad had great flavor and texture. This place is awesome newest favorite in NE Oklahoma!

Diane M.

Yelp
Great BBQ,favorites are the Big Mac, sliced brisket , loaded baked potato, BBq beans. Good service.

Yelp
Well slap my booty and call me Suize, this is some damn good BBQie!!! Mac's is one of those small town gems you hope to find when traveling! While in North's Tulsa on business I stopped by here hungry for some bbq. The drive thru line was wrapped around the building and the inside was full. Ordered the two meat combo of ribs and hot link and man was I in for a treat! The ribs where sooo flavorful and the link had a good spice to it. Their bbq sauce is great and compliments the beef really well. I was so impressed that I ended up buying a bottle of the sauce and a Mac's shirt! I will swing out of my way if I'm ever in the Tulsa area to come here again!
