Opened by Korean-American owners in 2023, this Nolensville newcomer leans into USDA Prime meats, BBQ combos, and welcoming service. Locals praise the galbi, cheese corn, and jjamppong; a fresh, independently owned grill destination.

My family and I came here for a late birthday and late Father's Day dinner. The Korean BBQ here is top-notch, with excellent service. Wanalee was our server, and she was exceptional. The food is spectacular, the galbi, garlic pork belly, spicy pork is chefs kiss. And the surprising contender of the night, the cheesy corn. My family and I left full and happy. Thank you, Mad for Galbi and Wanalee, for a great dinner experience! We will be back!

Stopped in with a friend after work this week and had a wonderful time. Service was quick, but we talk too much and ended up there late. Great selection of Korean food, though I should have asked for a little spicier on the spicy items. We started with makgeolli and a seafood pancake. That seafood pancake was delicious! I had sat down wanting to order a kimchi pancake, but I didn't see one on the menu. I probably missed it. Seafood is my second favorite, though, and they did it well. We ordered jeyok bokkeum (spicy pork) and ojingeo bokkeum (spicy squid) as our dishes. We shared both. I wish they'd been spicier, but they had great flavor. The meats were cooked properly and had the right chew. The sauces were delicious, and the rice was perfect to soak it all up! There was also tons of food there, so we ended up with leftovers of everything that I'll enjoy this weekend! Overall great value, too. We split the bill 50/50 and my portion with tip was about $50. I have enough leftover for 2 lunches (if I add some veg to the second one).

Google
Being Korean we went for the Korean comfort food of Jajang (black bean noodles) and Jam pong (spicy seafood noodles soup) and they did not disappoint! Also the side dishes were very good except for the Kimchee. Will be back to try the Korean BBQ next.

Google
Simon was the absolute best! Totally worth the drive over here, the food was amazing and honestly, I could not finish everything but I wanted to eat more even after being beyond full. I will happily make this trip again and again!

Google
As a Korean I wanna say this is a legit Korean BBQ place you can go in Nashville. It was awesome and the service is great here. I am celiac (gluten free only) and my server was knowledgeable and thoughtful. My American friends had a pleasant experience as well. I will be back.

Google
Great place for a date night or special occasion. The food and service were superb! Thank you to Max, our server, for the wonderful tutorial and recommendations. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
The restaurant was clean and had a welcoming vibe. No slippery floors which you would see in other KBBQ places. Max was super attentive, friendly, professional and even helped us out cooking the meat.

Google
Great selection of meat and really good quality compared to the bbqs closer to home. I’ve never left with an empty stomach! Our server Tommy did an amazing job and everything was cooked to perfection! Fire playlist as well, definitely one of my favorites!

Yelp
Great service and the meat was quality, I'm from the Bay Area and there are lots of kbbq spots and this is up there though it's not ayce.

Yelp
Love, love, love!! The place wasn't hard at all to find. GPS took us right there and parking wasn't bad, either. The parking lot was pretty big. We got in on a Saturday evening and got seated right away. It did look pretty packed after we got in. They had a variety on their menu whether it be drinks, apps, entrees, or combos. We did the combo C and got plenty of food. It came with Galbi, brisket, bulgogi, pork belly, and pork marinated in spicy sauce. It was very well worth it! It came with the sides, eggs, and cheesy corn. We chose to do the bbq when we came here so when we ordered our combo, we knew we were going to grill it ourselves (which we enjoy doing). I think if you can't, they will help you grill your food. I really have no complaints about anything we had at all. Everything was so delicious. The Galbi and bulgogi was seasoned perfectly. I'm honestly not big on pork, but I'm glad I tried it. The spicy pork (Jeyuk-gui) was seasoned so good. I liked it a lot. The cheesy corn and Galbi were my favorites. The soup was also very yummy. In all, I had a pretty good experience and will definitely be back! Thanks!

Yelp
Ordered the Korean BBQ Combination C, really enough for three people although just two of us. There was meat left over, which my son cooked and took home for lunch the next day. Comes with Bon Chon, three bowls of rice, soup and salad. You will not leave hungry. Very attentive service. Also order the Seafood Pancake, which is highly recommended. We enjoyed everything that came with the combo. We will be back again. Nice to know we have this gem of a restaurant right here in Nolensville.

Yelp
Everything here was amazing! Our waitress was so kind and knowledgeable of the menu! She gave us all kinds of pointers which we loved! The food was absolutely delicious and you get your moneys worth. Also love the atmosphere, very inviting and good for all size parties! Do check them out! Also love that even for a "BBQ" spot there are plenty of vegetarian options available as well!

Yelp
Took the extended family to celebrate a birthday. We reserved the barbecue table and did Korean BBQ combo B meal. Plenty of food for six and everything was delicious. Our server Max, was cheerful, helpful, and funny. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a great place. The dishes brought before the meal were delicious. Not sure if we were supposed to use them as accompaniments or if they were a complimentary appetizer We devoured them. Our meals were delicious as well. We had Ramen soup and sesame wings. Wings had a breading thicker than desired but were fabulous with a delicious sauce.

Yelp
Loved it here! I visited about few months ago on a Saturday evening, and after we arrived, we were promptly seated upon arrival, opting for a regular table instead of one for Korean BBQ. After browsing the menu, our waiter provided some helpful suggestions that we went with. While waiting for our food, a woman, whom I assume was the owner, graciously offered us tastings of soju without any prompting or expectation. It seemed that she was genuinely just interested in us trying it so we did and loved it, so we decided to get a bottle of the grapefruit soju which had been our favorite. Our food arrived shortly after. I had the beef bulgogi, which was absolutely delicious, and my friends enjoyed their dishes just as much. The same woman later checked in to see how we were enjoying our meal, and we were happy to share how much we loved it. Her genuine appreciation made us feel valued as customers. I really liked it here and would definitely come back!

Yelp
I found myself in Nolensville a couple hours before my hockey game. Rather than eating the same mediocre fast food, I decided to treat myself to something a bit more tasty. The problem here was I was feeling a little nostalgic, probably because I talked to my mom the day before. I wanted Korean food. Korea BBQ & Sushi is usually my go-to but I was already deep in the heart of Nolensville and I came across this place in my Google search. After reading a couple reviews, I decided to give it a shot. Here's the thing, I didn't go here for Korean BBQ. Like I said before, I talked to my mother the day before and I wanted one of the comfort Korean dishes. A soup or stew. I was pleasantly surprised on arrival and what's the saying about ethnic cuisine? You know it's good when the local ethnic people go there. I think the restaurant had 90% Korean patrons. My waitress was nice and patient. She checked on me often and refilled my dishes of banchan. I ended up picking the jjamppong 짬뽕 for my entree. In Korean restaurant fashion, jjamppong is served in a humongous bowl, big enough to take a bath in. Chock full of seafood, I was pleasantly surprised that it had chunks of blue crab in it too! A nice balance of spice in a briny seafood broth, it hit the spot in a way comfort food only can. The only mistake is now I have to go play ice hockey and I'm hoping I don't pay the price for it. As for the atmosphere, it's modern. You get traditional hole-in-the-wall Korean food in a relatively modernized setting (TVs, music, contemporary furniture) without all the tackiness. Even the staff were hip, young servers. The owner (or manager) was friendly too! I'll definitely go back again before my next hockey game!

Yelp
I dined at Mad for Galbi on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 7 pm. I had an excellent dining experience here. I've been to many Korean bbq restaurants, most are usually AYCE. But this is probably one of the few non-AYCE Korean bbq restaurants I would return more frequently. The food tasted delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant looked new and clean, which is always a nice first impression when dining for the first time. For appetizers, I had creamy shrimp and seafood pancake. The shrimps were large and fried nicely and coated with just the perfect amount of cream sauce that didn't overwhelm the shrimp. The seafood pancake was probably the best seafood pancake I've tasted. Perfectly crisp and had a generous amount of seafood in it. For entrees, I ordered seafood soondobu and 2 meats for the grill: galbi and pork belly. The seafood tofu soup was also one of the best tasting tofu soups I had. The broth was aromatic and filled with all kinds of seafood. It was a nice comfort dish to eat with rice. The galbi tasted excellent - nicely marinated and I cooked it with a nice char. The pork belly also delivered. I liked the cheese corn and the steamed egg sides. As for the banchan sides, I thought there was a good variety and tasted adequate. Service was excellent. Super attentive and friendly. Our table must have asked to refill the banchan sides multiple times because they were very small portions, but our server delivered. Great service and great food deserves a 5-stars rating.

Yelp
We love this place and all the staff. We lived in Korea and this place does a very good job of emulating the atmosphere and food. The owner is amazing as well

Yelp
We were immediately greeted by a very welcoming staff. The restaurant was busy but we were able to be seated right away on a weekend at dinner. Our table service was kind, thoughtful, and was happy to explain things that were slightly different at this restaurant from other Korean BBQ we had visited in the past. Our appetizer, Kkanpung Chicken (a spicy chicken dish), was incredible and the portion was very generous. During the BBQ service we greatly enjoyed the robust offering of side dishes including salad, egg, kimchi, and corn. The bulgogi was delicious. We also loved the spicy pork. We will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Korean BBq is always fun to go for dinner, it could also be hit or miss depending on the restaurant. Mad for Galbi did not disappoint though. We were really excited to try this place out, glad we went. The staff was very attentive but not overbearing. They make sure to take care of everyone but did not want to rush anyone out the door since Korean bbq can take some time. Menu options were reasonably priced as well! Should be our new go to Korean BBQ!

Yelp
Amazing food and will definitely stop here again for more! Came here with my sister and friends for lunch and immediately was greeted with prompt service. Food was all delicious with great portions enough to share. They have both BBQ grill tables and non-grill tables. We opted for the non-grill, but will come back for the grill version as the place smelled good coming from the BBQ tables.

Yelp
This was my second visit and what a different experience not in a good way. I made a reservation for a party of 12 and reconfirmed a couple of days before, when we arrived the staff seemed surprised to see us? The staff were visibly annoyed that we wanted to dine there. There were a few guests that needed guidance with the menu due to allergies, the waitress was not educated on the menu and could care less. The assistant manager disappeared after I introduced myself to him ( I made the reservation with him). Such a disappointment as the food is fantastic but not sure I'm able to recommend them any more. January, 2025. The first visit in 2024 was wonderful. My party of 6 was greeted promptly and shown to our table. Our waitress Laila was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She helped us navigate the many options on the menu. She brought us an assortment of appetizers which were tasty. The experience was wonderful and I wrote a great review along with recommending Mad for Galbi.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to stop by and worth it! Staff is fantastic and Corey was awesome - great service and recommendations! Meats were a good quality and plenty! We ordered Galibi and Bulgogi to grill! Haven't had cheese corn before but's it's delicious and steamed egg with Korean BBQ is always great! All banchans were great but not a fan of their pasta salad...really wish they had a potato salad instead. Salad and lettuce was great BUT if they had radish or rice wraps that would fantastic. Have only send 1 middle TN Korean BBQ place with radish or rice wrappers. Good beverage selection - wish places carried several Korean beer options versus just one. Loved that they have good ventilation and very clean. Would recommend putting something fun on the TV screen. Watching people eating on screen or cooking meat in a kitchen is not really fun to watch while you're eating - you'll understand when you see it. All in all a great experience! Great food, service and atmosphere.

Yelp
My new favorite Korean bbq place. We got their largest combo, combo A and everything tasted great. The short ribs were my Favorite, followed by the spicy pork, chicken, and bulgogi. Also had the Korean Fried Chicken which is well worth a trip by itself. Also, our waiter Max did an excellent job.
google avatar

Yelp
yummy food and fantastic service from max! he checked up on us often and assisted with grilling the meat :) food was great all around, no complaints about it at all. definitely swinging by again!!

Yelp
Our dinner at Mad for Galbi was delicious! The menu offered an array of Korean delights, from traditional stews to Kbbq. We indulged in the Mad Honey Soy Sauce Fried Chicken, Creamy Teokboki, Bulgogi Pasta, and Chadol Doenjang. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor, I really enjoyed the creamy teokboki, it reminded me of Alfredo-like sauce. The bulgogi pasta was delicious too, the meat was well marinated but not too sweet. The Chadol Doenjang stew came with tender beef brisket, tofu, and veggies, though its soybean paste base wasn't to my liking but that's kinda of my fault cause I didn't read the menu lol. Mad for Galbi has definitely secured its place among my favorite Korean spots in Nashville!

Tyler B.

Yelp
Great food and service. Prices are reasonable and we had a TON of leftovers. Looking forward to going back soon!

Yelp
This place is new in Nolensville area and I'm so glad it was an available option during my short visit to the area. We enjoyed 3 bottles of soju, multiple bottles of Kirin, and option C on the food menu. I was slightly disappointed that Korean beers were not offered as an option as my husband and I are fans of Korean beers: Cass, Hite, and Terra. These beers are great options to enjoy with Soju. I hope they introduce these beers to the area. They do offer Kirin, Sapporo and Heineken which aren't really synonymous with soju. Just FYI though, the soju was delicious with Kirin still. Kirin got the job done. Option C, the menu says for 3... it fed 3 people plus. Would've easily fed 4. The leftovers we took home to for a the teenage. The fact they serve cheese corn and the egg custard was enough for me. I don't ask for much. Food was good and plenty of rice for 3 people because we weren't huge rice eaters at the table. Staffing was still working things out when we went but still very attentive. There wasn't a host at the front so it took a while to get noticed for seating. I would recommend going on weekday evening (I was here on a Thursday night).

Yelp
BBQ was great as always! Highly recommend the bulgogi and garlic pork belly! The banchan selection was great as well!

Yelp
Awesome, and in the country for sure. Very authentic and lots of Korean's in the restaurant. Had the combo and it was so good. Wife had the wine which is unique and very good. Owners were nice and listened to our horrible Korean that we tried to speak. So nice. I highly recommend and it is very authentic and not a dive. We will be back.

Melanie B.

Yelp
Korean BBQ requires quite a bit of work on your part, so this is not a place for anyone who thinks "why would I go out just to cook my own food?" (I do believe that a server will help you if you ask, though.) I enjoy interactive stuff like this, so I love it. They do have a dining area where you can order normal dishes from the menu if you don't want to sit at a grill table and do the cooking. The menu is really extensive, and there are a lot of options for the grill tables. They bring you your choice of meat(s), start the fire, and you cook it there at the table. You're provided with little dishes of sauces and seasoning. Also included are several side dishes, like salad, kimchi, egg custard (cooks on the grill in these little trenches), cheese corn (cooked in the grill trenches), and a variety of other pickled type things and Asian veggie salads. The combo we've gotten most often includes 5 different meats (pork belly, beef bulgogi, brisket, chicken, and a spicy pork) and all of the sides and it's $89. It's a LOT of food, we always have at least half as leftovers, so I think it's a great deal. (There are many other options that are cheaper.) The food is great. I've never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and attentive, they always make sure you have what you need and will assist you in cooking properly and will switch out the grill top for a clean one between meats. I highly recommend this place. It gets pretty busy, which makes me happy for them! I hope they stick around for a long time, it's a fun night out.

Yelp
Best Korean place in town. Redditors will try to tell you that "Korea bbq and sushi" is the best. No that place sucks. From what I understand, this is the same owner as Hai Woon Dai, which was previously the best Korean place in town, so the quality is understandable.
google avatar

Crystal B.

Yelp
You get really BIG portions of meat. We got Option C, with 2 adults and 4 kids, and had lots of meat leftover to enjoy at home later. My kids enjoyed the whole experience of KBBQ.

Yelp
Rating isn't fair I enjoyed my lunch with my girlfriend and uncle. Service was great! We had noodles wings beef ribs fried rice everything was excellent

Yelp
Had a good service experience here. The food delivered fast and the customer service was excellent. You can pick and choose either menu or bbq grilling. Combos was Plenty for 2 people. Place was easy to find. Menu was extensive. Options for everyone.

Junkee S.

Yelp
Our family of four came back after a long time since they live California. We were really disappointed, so I'm leaving this comment. The service was great when the owner was here, but ever since the change in management, it's been a terrible experience. When we walked in, nobody greeted us, and the staff were just standing around doing nothing. I've been here many times before, but today the servers were totally unengaged, and almost let our galbi burn. We ordered two bottles of beer for our group of four, but the server only brought two cups. When we asked for an extra one, she gave us an annoyed look, which made us feel uncomfortable. Even though there were four servers and only four tables, no one paid attention to ours. We also ordered 차돌짬뽕, and despite being a party of four, it took forever to bring out the bowls, and they didn't even bring them right away. This was a really disappointing experience, and I think the service needs serious improvement. 가게 직원들이 너무 최악이에요.

Yelp
Gamsahamnida for opening this legit Korean BBQ place in Nolensville! 5 Stars for food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. We came in during a summer storm and got to watch the BBQ show at our table and the lightning show outside. What a night to remember! 100% will be back again for more soju and to try some different items from the BBQ menu. Everything we had was absolutely delicious.
google avatar

TJ J.

Yelp
Came here yesterday, the food is awesome, although, the service and management was not the standard of the food quality and the restaurant vibe. Ill give it another chance sometime later, hopefully, it will get better!
google avatar

Val S.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this new Korean bbq spot! We order the combo #2 for 3 people. Sides were slim and this is the first Korean bbq place that limit you their sides refill!!! You are only allow to get refills twice on their sides! A small bowl of salad that really feeds one person but we can only get 2 refills before they charge us. We ordered the can Sapporo beer and they gave us water cups to poor the beer in! No beer glass like other Korean bbq spot. Galbi flavor was good but limited choices at the Korean bbq restaurant. I'll be awhile until I give this place a try again.
google avatar

Xxx J.

Yelp
Food was good, but service and management could be a lot better. I had to wait for a long time for servers, needed some help with grilling. The restaurant on the other hand looks nice and clean.

Beatricia N.

Yelp
The food is very good. I always get the barbecue when I go there. The service is efficient and the staff is friendly. The ambiance is pleasant. The only negative point in my opinion is the noise level. The music is loud. It's hard to talk due to the music loud volume. That's the only reason I am not giving it 100.% of a positive review. If you want a quiet place to talk don't go there.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
The food is tasty, the menu is HUGE. Service is excellent and fast. The vibe is easy family friendly.

Yelp
Wow! Just wow! No way I ever thought we'd get such a good Korean restaurant in Nolensville!! Coming from the west coast I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Definitely gonna be on a regular rotation. Do yourself a favor and ge

Kimberly L.

Yelp
Our first experience here and ever eating Korean BBQ and it was good, definitely different. Five stars for authenticity- it was definitely that. Our waitress was so patient with us and our many questions. She explained what certain dishes were made with etc. the ambiance was fun and enjoyable with a grill in the table where the food is cooked. It made for a slower pace meal that welcomed more conversation, different than a typical dinner out. The meats were thinly sliced, but good quality and tasty. 4 stars for the fact that the sides were very small, only two sides of rice came with the combo meal for 4 and there weren't any grilled vegetables to complete the meal in my opinion. But if you love meat or Korean BBQ give this place a try!
google avatar

Sheila L.

Yelp
This place was great! We l or Korean food & we're exited to try out this place when we were in Nolensville! Turns out it's the sister restaurant to our fav Korean place in Antioch, same owners! Food & service were excellent! We started with the shrimp dim sum & it was perfect! We loved the diversion of Ban Chan with the macaroni salad & both enjoyed our bulgogi! This place is so fresh & so clean! Our server was super excellent & very friendly! Always on top of the water refills!

Yelp
The best Korean bbq made by Spider-Man ever! Combo B galbi, bulgogi, rib eye steak, chicken and thin sliced beef. Excellent service and quality of food. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
After a long day of work I'm passing by this place very interested in trying it out. Well I haven't eatn any food yet before I'm having a chance to explain just how horrible my experience has been already. I show up place order for to go. I pay... they say 20 minutes I step outside to sit in my car for 20 minutes. I go back inside to get my food..... there is no food because they didn't have what I ordered..... very frustrating.... so I say ok I order something else.... she rings me up for another meal and tells me the total to pay for it...... excuse me? Why am I paying for another meal... " there is no one here in charge so I can't comp ur meal or give u a refund only my manager can and he'll be here tomorrow" THERE IS NO ONE HERE IN CHARGE I SPENT 50$ for fried rice and dumplings and have to chase the manager down tomorrow and get my money back... the hostess is giving me an attitude like my frustration isn't valid... I just can't believe that there is absolutely no way to contact a manager and that this restaurant is running with literally no one here that can do anything in regard to resolving any issues.... This is ridiculous.... I'm being inconvenienced by coming to this restaurant to spend money and eat their food.... making such a simple transaction so complicated..... horrible experience.... horrible customer service

Tam T.

Yelp
I've gone here twice. The vibe here is authentic Korean bbq vibes. I'm from Atlanta, so this restaurant is the closest thing they have to Korean BBQ style to Atlanta's Korean BBQ. I love this place. The side dishes are good portions and super friendly service. I will be back and bring them more business. The outside door to go outside is heavy to open, but besides that, everything is amazing.

Yelp
Great discovery of a new Korean place around. Will be back for more Full list of menu as of Sept 2023

Erica W.

Yelp
My husband and I ate here for the first time a couple of nights ago. I will start by saying it won't be the last time we dine there. We started with the Galbi-Mandu. These dumplings were everything you want when you bite into one. Flavorful and warm. For our entrees we chose the Galbi and Bulgogi. While the Bulgogi was good, the Galbi was amazing! Next time I will likely order this instead of stealing pieces of the meat from my husband's plate. For someone that used to despise even the look of kimchi, I found their kimchi and cucumber kimchi to be spot on for my taste. These were served as a couple of our side dishes along with steamed broccoli and macaroni salad Our experience was a good one! The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was fine. Highly recommend!

Yelp
evening dinner stop staying in Smyrna, TN. enjoy the back country winding drive only 12 minutes away. Ramen was a hit for the kids, very limited options for vegetarians, so go if you like meats. I enjoyed the E5 dish w spicy chicken and those flat-oval rice (noodle) cakes in the sauce w rice. hit the spot after 6 people & 6 hours on the road. we usually have an automatic gratuity, and this was the case here with an auto 20% included to our check. Overall, pretty fast getting food from ordering and a nice modern strip center. If we had gotten there 90 minutes earlier we would have done one of their Korean BBQ tables in the back. so, plan accordingly, and get more great dining experiences. #BradyEats

Yelp
Food and service so good. Already went back for a pickup order. Love the wings and seafood pancakes

Yelp
Great food. Huge menu. Best dish was the bulgolgi. Cant wait to try more Bibimbob Teokboki Bulgolgi

Yelp
Mad for Galbi was a great stop for something a little different on our week in Nolensville when we needed a break from fried food. Our waiter was fantastic--friendly and helpful for my husband who was new to a Korean restaurant experience. I tried the dulsot bibimbop, which came out sizzling and delicious. The bowl of clear broth that came with the dish was extremely flavorful and complex. My husband tried their bulgogi and really enjoyed it. We really enjoyed the banchan options that came with the entrees. We didn't try the Korean bbq experience this visit, but it looked like those who did were enjoying themselves.

Yelp
Food was not hot and seemed mushed, staff was very slow to recognize we wanted another soda, tea extremely strong. Just a so so place.
