Quick Update on 11/19/24 -- I am enjoying my two remaining pieces of their fabulous pizza for breakfast this morning. Several days after we dined there, the pizza is still amazing. Lightly warmed up, the crust is still soft and not rock hard. What?! Love it! The slightly smoky flavor of the bottom of the crust compliments the toppings, especially the aromatic sausage. What a winner! Can't wait to go back.

Molto bene!!! What a winner of a spot. I haven't been to Italy in too many decades - it would be wonderful to cure that situation. Spending part of an evening in this amazing bistro rekindled my memories of long-ago dining experiences in the land of amore. It's noisy, it's bustling, the tables are tightly bunched together, the aromas are tantalizing, it's a happening.
We tried Made in Italy Bistro for the first time Saturday evening for the first time. We met a dear friend who hadn't been there before either, so we all got to experience it together. The options for seating at 4:45 in the late afternoon (!) were either a table outside under space heaters, or at the pizza bar inside. We went for option B, as the sun was setting and it was already getting chilly outside, even with the heaters.
The short bar stools at the pizza bar wrap-around counter are not particularly comfortable. They feature a sculpted hard wood seat, with no back. I elected to sit on my coat, which offered a small amount of padding, but it was awkward to make sure that it stayed under me and didn't go sprawling on the floor. Thankfully, the counter in front of us was deep enough so that my friend and I could place our purses up there were we could see them.
Logistics aside, our server was delightful in presenting specials and answering questions. I ordered the dairy-free cream of leek soup which was a special offering, and it was absolutely delicious. We learned that they not only offer gluten free pasta options, but also their made fresh focaccia bread could be regular or gluten free. That worked for our pal perfectly.
For me, they have dairy free cheese available, imported from Italy no less! Dear Hubby and I ordered a salsiccia e funghi pizza with that special cheese and it was excellent! It was about the closest taste and texture to "real" cheese that I've had since my doctor advised me to go without the joys of dairy foods.
I was also able to enjoy their blood orange sorbetto for dessert. DH and our friend shared a slice of cheesecake for dessert, which looked like the baked New York-style version. With an Italian vibe, of course.
The interior is absolutely charming. Though it's a long and narrow space, they've managed to add decorative touches throughout. I didn't get a chance to take photos of the interior because it was just too busy. Will be happy to return another time and another time and . . . to try to find a time when I can snap photos. :-)
