19 Saucy Pizza Spots to Love Around Los Angeles

"The Conejo Valley has plenty of Italian eateries, and Made in Italy is among the best. In addition to several kinds of pasta, salads, and paninis, there are several options for pizza, including a classic margherita, prosciutto and arugula, four cheese, and sausage and mushroom. Just like all of Made in Italy’s pastas, its pizzas can be made gluten-free." - Eater Staff

15 Best Restaurants in Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, and Agoura Hills | Eater LA

"There are plenty of solid Italian restaurants in the Conejo Valley, and Made in Italy is among the best. The penne alla bettola is hearty with a bit of a kick, and can be made gluten-free like all other pastas on the menu. The salads are also special and make an excellent starter when shared with the table with plenty of the house focaccia." - Fiona Chandra

Looking for a new place to have lunch this past weekend, it was my turn to pick the restaurant. After scouring many reviews, I decided that we should try Made in Italy Bistro. I had read about their popularity, so I arrived early just after they opened to beat the crowd. I was welcomed warmly by the staff, offered a table and soon after presented with garlic focaccia and sparkling water to start. After my friend arrived, we reviewed the appealing menu and placed our orders. Our pasta dishes arrived quickly, and they were not just delicious, but beautifully presented. The sauce was so savory, and the pasta was so fresh! Within half an hour, the place was packed with a few waiting outside, braving the rain. Heaters were set up for those who wanted to eat on the patio. Even though the staff were very busy, they treated us as if we were the only ones in the room. Our server, Ray, was such a pleasure! She was knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly. I will soon be returning.

I finally had a chance to check out Made in Italy Bistro. I ordered a pizza and it was delicious and can't wait to go back for another one. The owners came by and said hello. Very nice! And friendly. I highly recommend this place. Also the prices were fair.

Google
The food was good and not too pricey. The only negative is that our poor server had to do all the serving and order taking by herself for about 20 minutes as there was no one else there. This was on a Saturday evening with a full house. They definitely need more employees

Google
1st but definitely not the last time here :). It was so delicious. My son and I ordered a margarita pizza and the penne allá bettola. Their sauces are really amazing and this thin pizza crust is perfect! Really does transport you back to Italy!

Google
One of those Italian restaurants where it feels like the waiter says you’re order back to you not to confirm what you got, but to correct your pronunciation. The bruschetta was the best thing by far because the burrata was so fresh and creamy. The malfatti was alright, lacking depth of flavor and not filling. The tagliatelle needed more parm and kinda tasted like Kraft Mac and cheese. And the cavatelli was fine, you can easily made it just as good at home. The desserts were good. Tiramisu was light and fluffy and the gelato was really thick. Overall not worth $300 and I have been more satisfied with pasta from Cheesecake Factory.

Made in Italy. Bistro is a great spot, especially for lunches. Although I have not tried them for dinner yet, I think I'm going to have to. I usually get one of their sandwiches and a coffee which I am quite the fan of. Sometimes I can be a bit of a coffee snob lol (not too bad I promise) but the food is really good consistently (is a big thing for me) as well as the service is always top notch. Everyone's nice all the time. The food comes out in a timely manner and I would say the vibe in ambiance is really just nice and enjoyable. Like you'll have a great time. I would say if you're ever in the area I would check them out for sure.

Google
This is only my second time dining at this little known restaurant in Thousand Oaks, but I hope to be a regular soon. This quaint and delicious restaurant is the kind of place that you feel like you've discovered, and the food is freshly prepared and consistently good. The service is impeccable, and the servers are very knowledgeable. You can never be disappointed at this place. Try their patented pasta dish, you’ll thank me! The food is made with the freshest ingredients and prepared with the utmost care. The bread dough used for the appetizers and pizza simply melt in your mouth. The dishes are beautifully presented, consistently good and taste even better than they look. The service is excellent, and the staff is always happy to help. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special place to eat.

Two nights in a row, and everything was sooooo good. The pasta is house made and the pizza is crispy and perfectly cooked.

Yelp
This review is a long time coming! We started eating here mid-Covid lockdown and would order their pizza & pastas to go which was such a warm hug during that time! Now, we probably go there monthly....I come from an Italian family and it's the only Italian restaurant I truly crave! I can't stop eating the Taglierini which is their pesto pasta with burrata. I always come back to it! My husband is obsessed with their Bolognese, pizzas and the dessert calzone?! Wow. Service is always great and we love sitting both inside and outside on the patio. Definitely a gem for the community!

Yelp
It's looking like you guys don't really need the positive review, but any time the food and service are both this delicious, you really should say something. We didn't make reservations, so we weren't able to get a table right away. Thankfully a perky little wine pusher (Kate) offered us a bottle to start our night and we didn't really notice the wait. We got our table and met our server Becca, but Kate stayed on board, checking in on us every once in a while... making sure we were in good hands. We were. (Most of the night, we had our 2 little rays of sunshine, Kate and Becca, tag-teaming our table with happiness and hellyes recommendations.) We got apps and pastas and pizzas and desserts (and a glass of milk like a fat 5 year old) and we regret nothing. Everything was legitimately good. Good food tastes better when good people are serving it. And when the food is good, you like the people more... so it was like this endless cycle that kept outdoing itself. It was an all around great experience. So, hell yes. We'll be back. Okay, I ate too much and it's past my bedtime.

Yelp
If you want my undivided attention--Made in Italy has it! This restaurant is nothing short of amazing. We ordered the homemade raviolis, the quinoa and chicken salad, and it was all perfectly accompanied by their five-star focaccia bread--each bite was bursting with authentic Italian flavor and made with true passion. The service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere charming and cozy, and the quality of the food was top-tier. Best of all, the prices were more than reasonable for the experience we received. If you're looking for a fantastic Italian restaurant in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County, or even L.A. County--Made in Italy is 100% worth the trip. You will not regret it. This spot is a gem!

Yelp
When I heard Made in Italy Bistro made homemade fresh pasta I had to come my and experience it. I have been on an Italian food kick lately so I was looking forward to it. Let me tell you they did not disappoint. First off they don't take reservations and the place is kinda small so expect a wait especially during peak times for dinner on weekends. That being said, we were quoted 45 minutes and got in in 30. They offer a split of tables inside and have an expanded patio in the parking lot with heaters. The menu looked delightful and a bunch to choose from so we started off with a margarita pizza, very good. Also had the Truffle Pasta which was mind blowing. Definitely recommend. The staff was very nice and had that down home hospitality feel. This ranks up there with some of the best mom and pop homemade Italian food out there.

Yelp
Made in Italy never disappoints! I needed a breath of fresh air and sunshine today. So I decided to go to Made In Italy. (Dine inside or outside) Weather was perfect for dinning outside because of the sunshine and cool breeze. I was craving a healthy sandwich and decided to go to Made in Italy. Their food is home made and very tasty. If you are looking for a real Italian meal that serves up home made pasta's and breads alongside their meats and seafood try Made in Italy! Atmosphere is relaxing. My waitress was very friendly and recommended a meal that matched my cravings. Chicken Sandwich came with a side salad made up of farm fresh tasting greens. Dessert, Chocolate Gelato. I almost felt like I was sitting in Italy as sat and ate my lunch. Very relaxing. True Italian meals at their finest and at affordable prices. My entire meal came to just under $25.00 (includes tip). Sandwich is shareable size for (2) people. I highly recommend Made in Italy Bistro! It was so good I ate the whole thing. No regrets! I highly recommend Made in Italy Bistro!

Yelp
Had pizza here few times and Togo as well. Delicious every time. Reminds me of NY pizza with thin crust, quality ingredients. Baked perfectly. Big mug of Lemonade cold and delicious. We ate outside. Nice weather and atmosphere, though close to parking lot. Yes, I recommend.

Yelp
The place was packed! That always gets me excited since typically this means the food is good. A foodie group I'm in recommended this place. The crostone appetizer was the only thing we enjoyed. The lasagna was terrible. The pizza was ok. They seated us outside which was fine but the server gave us warm water with no ice on a hot day. She also kept "forgetting" simple things like asking us if we wanted to order drinks. This is just my take on the place. Seems like the town loves it but hard pass for us.

Yelp
I was so impressed with this restaurant from the minute I stepped inside. We were greeted by a lovely young woman who sat us at our table. It was a Monday afternoon so they weren't too busy. Edwin was our server and he was so attentive and went out of his way to really make sure everything was perfect. He checked back several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Now for the really good part...the food!!!! I love that they make their own pasta in house (except for the penne) which is fine by me. All their sauces and desserts are made fresh and let me tell you the flavors are amazing! We shared the Cavatelli pasta with beef bolognese & Parmigiano. It was insanely good! We also had the Lasagna which was layers of delicious flavors. I took home the hand-made potato gnocchi with a modification for my vegetarian husband and had it made with their tomato sauce. The gnocchi were like perfect little clouds that melted in your mouth. It's very difficult to find homemade delicious gnocchi. Perfection! We also had the cheesecake which was light and not to sweet. The vibe of the restaurant is casual and comfortable. I can't wait to go back and try more of their creations. Plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating with ample parking.

Yelp
They have Amazing food from the pizza to the pasta to The charcuterie! Great atmosphere! Great people! Quality everything.

Yelp
The food is great but they do get busy! We walked in at 1pm on a Thursday and it was full. We waited around 15 minutes before they gave us the choice to wait a little longer or take a table that was reserved in 40 minutes. We took the 40 minutes, and ordered the crostone and malfatti to share. Service was so kind and joked around about getting the food out quickly. They were not joking! We got our food in 5 minutes! The crostone was unbelievably delicious. The bread had just enough structure to support the toppings while not taking away from the textural experience, the tomatoes were so juicy, burrata so creamy. It was a perfect bite every bite. Then when the malfatti came it was like a crescendo, the food kept getting better. The branzino added just enough fishiness without that overpowering flavor, the pasta had an incredible bite, and the sauce was balanced. We finished in 15 minutes and I was tempted to even eat the plates. Left so fulfilled we couldn't even order dessert, though I really want to next time. Great place!

Yelp
Quick Update on 11/19/24 -- I am enjoying my two remaining pieces of their fabulous pizza for breakfast this morning. Several days after we dined there, the pizza is still amazing. Lightly warmed up, the crust is still soft and not rock hard. What?! Love it! The slightly smoky flavor of the bottom of the crust compliments the toppings, especially the aromatic sausage. What a winner! Can't wait to go back. -------------------------------- Molto bene!!! What a winner of a spot. I haven't been to Italy in too many decades - it would be wonderful to cure that situation. Spending part of an evening in this amazing bistro rekindled my memories of long-ago dining experiences in the land of amore. It's noisy, it's bustling, the tables are tightly bunched together, the aromas are tantalizing, it's a happening. We tried Made in Italy Bistro for the first time Saturday evening for the first time. We met a dear friend who hadn't been there before either, so we all got to experience it together. The options for seating at 4:45 in the late afternoon (!) were either a table outside under space heaters, or at the pizza bar inside. We went for option B, as the sun was setting and it was already getting chilly outside, even with the heaters. The short bar stools at the pizza bar wrap-around counter are not particularly comfortable. They feature a sculpted hard wood seat, with no back. I elected to sit on my coat, which offered a small amount of padding, but it was awkward to make sure that it stayed under me and didn't go sprawling on the floor. Thankfully, the counter in front of us was deep enough so that my friend and I could place our purses up there were we could see them. Logistics aside, our server was delightful in presenting specials and answering questions. I ordered the dairy-free cream of leek soup which was a special offering, and it was absolutely delicious. We learned that they not only offer gluten free pasta options, but also their made fresh focaccia bread could be regular or gluten free. That worked for our pal perfectly. For me, they have dairy free cheese available, imported from Italy no less! Dear Hubby and I ordered a salsiccia e funghi pizza with that special cheese and it was excellent! It was about the closest taste and texture to "real" cheese that I've had since my doctor advised me to go without the joys of dairy foods. I was also able to enjoy their blood orange sorbetto for dessert. DH and our friend shared a slice of cheesecake for dessert, which looked like the baked New York-style version. With an Italian vibe, of course. The interior is absolutely charming. Though it's a long and narrow space, they've managed to add decorative touches throughout. I didn't get a chance to take photos of the interior because it was just too busy. Will be happy to return another time and another time and . . . to try to find a time when I can snap photos. :-)

Yelp
5 Stars. Absolutely wonderful!. No matter how many times I come visit, The service and food is always perfect. This cute small restaurant in my opinion is the best italian restaurant in the area. Great place for taking families or even enjoying a date night. I wish someday they open up a bigger space as the popularity is getting too big for that small space. Thank you for being part of our community. Cheers

Yelp
This was my second time here and they definitely do not disappoint. Amazing food, service and the outdoor area is perfect under an umbrella. We had several specials including their corn pizza with crispy prosciutto. We did family style with our group so we tried everything. Make sure to save room for their dessert.

Yelp
Found Made In Italy Bistro on yelp obviously lol and let me just say wow it was delicious! The food was so flavor full the pasta I got had so much taste to it. I also ordered a pizza and it definitely hit the spot it's a thin slice with a thick crust was really good. We got there around 6:30 ish and they were busy very busy it's really not that big of a place but they have outside seating where we sat and it was perfect it was a great day outside. The service is quick and everyone there was very kind. We will for sure be back and I highly suggest this restaurant if you haven't tried your missing out...
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
The food here were all delicious. Their hand made pasta and the rest of the ingredients tasted fresh. The service was a little bit slow but negligible. The staff were friendly. The noise level is average. Their location is good. There's plenty of parking space.
google avatar

Amelia S.

Yelp
Good quality food and friendly service. Everything tastes very authentic. The salads were tasty, and others in my party enjoyed the margherita pizza and special pasta that contained sausage and broccolini. Note they offer gluten friendly pasta and pizzas, which is nice. Ambiance is casual, and the dining room has a rustic vibe. They have an outdoor patio as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Having Paulie as our waitress made the night absolutely wonderful! I took my favorite people here for a birthday celebration, and it couldn't have been better. The evening kicked off with an excellent selection of wine, setting the perfect tone. We started with the ahi tartare and minestrone, which were both fantastic choices. My truffle pasta was rich, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. I'm so glad we decided to dine here, and I can't wait to come back to try the Branzino!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute lil shop, great small business. The service is great and the food is tasty. It's a lil price for the portion size but overall it's a nice place to visit for lunch.
google avatar

Tania G.

Yelp
I loved this little nuke! The food was made fresh , the waiters and waitress were great! They offered so many selections, and honestly the food was pretty spot on! The restaurant itself was soo cute, I felt like I was sitting outside in Italy. The food was freshly prepared! Definitely recommend
google avatar

Sasha A.

Yelp
Service was great & I would describe the ambiance as casual chic. As for the food -- listen to the specials of the day because they are a hit!!! If you're super hungry, order a pizza as an appetizer and you won't regret it. The portions sizes are perfect & filling, and everything is flavorful. The only qualm I had was that the gnocchi was a bit salty and the oyster mushrooms really through me off, but it was still overall a good dish. I will definitely be coming here again to try more of their specials and get one of each of their pizzas! Though, beware of a 2.5% service fee, the fee does not go directly to the server so tip/budget accordingly!

Yelp
At the Bistro, Made in Italy, the experience of Italian cuisine reaches new heights. Each dish is a celebration of authentic flavors, featuring fresh ingredients sourced from local markets. From the rich Gnocchi to the perfectly al dente pasta, every bite transports you to the heart of Italy. The warm atmosphere and attentive service enhance the enjoyment, making each meal feel like a special occasion. Whether indulging in classic panacotta or the gelato, dining here is a culinary journey you won't forget. Becca is an outstanding server who knows the menu and loves her job!

Steven B.

Yelp
I promise you, the best Italian food this side of Rome. All their ingredients, including their Double '00' wheat flour, are imported (this is the flour you use to make pizza and pasta. Only grown in Europe--not easy find). Their pizza is do die for! It's not Americanized with slobs of heavy sauces, cheeses, 'fruits & vegetables' like all American pizza joints are. Their pizza is so authentic (I will suggest you ask the waiter to "crust it up" --bake it a little longer). Their pastas are fresh with EACH AND EVERY meal---no boxed pastas here. Their bolonaigse is outrageous (needs a little salt). SOOO fresh. Their lasagna is so not what you're used to or would expect. This is how it's made in Italy and should be made! Do not leave without having their taste-bud blowing chocolate moose made with this truly incredible, different (not overly sweet) imported chocolate and outrageous Tiramisu. T The owners are from Italy--just "off the boat" true Italian chefs. You will walk away wondering why such an amazing TRUE AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant is located where it is in a strip-mall. PLEEEASE don't let that dissuade you. Often a line for dinner (that should tell you something). No reservations. You will never go to Maria's (Americanized) Italian Kitchen (entering finger into throat--gag!) ever again. Worth the trip!. I'm a regular here! Hoping they open another in the Valley. They are on T.O. Blvd in the same strip-lot of Chik-Filet, past Mc Donalds.

Yelp
Absolutely love the homemade pastas here! We were wondering why this place always looked so busy and finally found out why. Kate was the best server and everyone is patient and informative. We can't wait to go back and try everything.

Yelp
The food, wine, and service were exceptional. It was a perfect complement to a lovely, quiet evening. The pasta dishes we tried were tasty and the pizza was stone-fired to perfection.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably the best Italian food I've ever had. Becca was our server and she was fantastic - so helpful and so cheerful - she really made our first time experience special. We got a table in the back that comfortably sat 6. The ambiance is cozy and elegant. I want to rave about the gluten free pasta which was divine. The tiramisu was exceptional. Really this place is a MUST.
google avatar

Justine Y.

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times and the service has been AMAZING every single time! As for the food? No denying how DELICIOUS everything is! Our favorites are the margarita pizza and cacio de peppe! Both are a MUST!! Everything is made in house and you can surely tell!
google avatar

Amelia L.

Yelp
We went to Made in Italy as we had a gift card. The service was great, we got all our food promptly. The food was good, however the pasta was too al dente for my taste. The special pizza with mortadella was incredible and I think should be a staple. Not a huge cocktail menu, but tons of wine to choose from.
google avatar

Adam B.

Yelp
We have been here a number of times. Everything we have ever ordered has been fantastic. After living in Italy for 3 years, this is one of the most authentic restaurants we have found in the area. The staff is always extremely friendly and accommodating. We have been seated both inside and outside, you can't go wrong either way. Looking forward to our next visit.
google avatar

Yelp
The food, as always just brings us here again and again. The friendly service and great place that makes you feel like you're in their home. There's so much love on one bite. Fresh ingredient and savory flavors popping in my mouth. We've ate at famous restaurants in Naples, Rome, Modena, Florence and this place makes you feel you never left. The quality! It's special!

Yelp
I started dining here a week after I moved away from the thousand oaks area, made me really sad that I didn't discover this place BEFORE I moved. Service here is amazing. Everyone greets and everyone works together, even the owner...she's amazing, didn't know she was the owner until another customer walked in and greeted her and introduced her to their group. This time I was helped by Chanda...she recommended a dish called, "CASERECE," before I get into this dish...let me say Chanda and team went above and beyond to make sure I had several laughs and smiles during my dining experience. Now let me get into this dish...ABSOLUTELY NEEEEEEEEEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THEIR MAIN MENU...or at least come back annually...Butter, homemade sausage, broccoli, and homemade pasta. If I could squeeze in another plate of this, I would of kept eating if I could. Fair warning...this is not a place you come and expect a quick meal. Everything is made fresh, so it'll take some time before you recieve your plate. Great place to come for a date especially with a bestie, family, partner.

Madii L.

Yelp
Came here for brunch with family and the food was delicious! I had the wild roasted branzino and the entire dish was packed with flavor. The vibe of the place is very nice as well with indoor and outdoor seating. Service-wise, they were always checking in on whether or not we had everything we needed which was so appreciated!
google avatar

Beth B.

Yelp
What a fantastic and memorable lunch with family and a huge thank you to our server Chanda for making it even more special! Her wine bottle opening capability had all of us truly impressed (see review photos)! All of us have dined in many wine-focused restaurants in our state, in big cities nationwide, and many international places. No one has ever done this table side while opening our bottle of wine. Way cool Chanda! Now, on to the food. The small plate of house made focaccia bread was perfectly prepared and presented. Just the right size pieces so you enjoy the herbs and oil but you don't fill up on it. The blue prawns were a nice appetizer. We wished it had come with 5 prawns so each of us could have had one, but I believe Chanda had the number of prawns included in this special appetizer wrong as we received only 4. The lasagna is exceptional and melts in your mouth my sister told all of us. Two in our party enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana and both exclaimed over how light the dish is. Flavor bursting through but none of the heaviness of others tasted before. My prosciutto panini was fabulous! It is presented with a pleasantly dressed side salad of spinach & arugula with shaved parmigiana and oil. Enough food for me to take half the panini for my flight home tomorrow. My dear mother in law had the chicken panini and barely spoke during the meal because it was so delicious. This kitchen is putting out some great food with the care & passion of a true Italian tradition.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite restaurant to go to any day of the week! Our Italian NY mother passed away a few years ago and we could never find anything close to her cooking since. A friend recommended this place to me and I thought, "yeah, yeah, sure it's good. Whatever!" I am now regretting what I said because it's so damn good! Their specials are always delicious and the waiters describe what everything is in case you don't know what it is or you don't come from an Italian family. My sister and I had their polpette which floored us because it was almost identical to our mom's sauce. I almost started to cry. My usual go to is their gnocchi and prosciutto pizza, but anything and everything on their menu is phenomenal. All of their staff is great, but Luca always puts a smile on everyone's face.
google avatar

Tatiana M.

Yelp
Made in Italy Bistro made me feel like Remy from ratatouille when he experiences food as color explosions. The servers here are so friendly and attentive. We sat outside and ordered a couple things starting with the prosciutto plate followed by an order of gnocchi and two pizzas one being a Calabrese and the other a prosciutto e arugula. The pizzas were absolutely insane from sauce to crust to toppings they were perfect. I had absolutely ZERO complaints. Short wait times, greats hosts, amazing food. If you love Italian food you have to come here I'm absolutely coming back and going to try some new things.

Roslyn M.

Yelp
We ate indoors and enjoyed a lovely lunch. My friend had the ahi tuna salad and I had the cheese board. So much wonderful cheese. Focaccia bread and fruit. I took some home due to the abundance. Lovely, friendly young waitress. A wonderful lunch experience.

Yelp
Farm fresh meals- the meat balls are delicious appetizers ( polpette) the in season special pizza was amazing with the corn. The peach crostone is my favorite dish of all time and is only in season during peach season. We also got two dessert, which were equally delicious

Yelp
What this place lacks in overall aesthetic and architecture, it more than compensates in food and drinks, which is really all that matters in a restaurant. The food is very good, and super authentic. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good quality Italian restaurant in the Thousand Oaks area, whether you are looking for pasta, fish, or pork/beef. The menu is diverse, and their service is great. While we might have had one appetizer that was less impressive, the pricing, service, and variety of options will keep me coming back.

Yelp
My favorite Italian restaurant in the Ventura County area. Made in Italy in Westlake Village is an authentic Italian restaurant that serves "made-in-house" pasta. The first dish I tried was the Penne with creamy tomato sauce. It honestly blew me away with how delicious it was. The service was phenomenal too. Super friendly staff, who were excited to give recommendations when I told them it was my first time. The restaurant itself was clean and reminded me of restaurants I visited in Italy. Highly recommend!

Yelp
A small quaint restaurant tucked in a small plaza along Thousand Oaks Blvd., offers homemade pasta, pizza, panini's, desserts and more! All the pasta is made in house and the flavors of the dishes boast the authentic taste of Italy! All I can say is it's the best beef Bolognese I have eaten. The tiramisu is made just right and the lasagna is was a hit! The restaurant may be small, but there is additional patio seating in the front of the restaurant. As the friendly staff greet you with a smile, the quaint atmosphere makes you feel at home. The best part is listening to the waiter explain the food items in his Italian accent!! I first tried this place as a guest at the Taste of Conejo Food and Wine Event. Made in Italy caught my eye and I was sold on the lasagne and couldn't wait to come in and try the food. My visit and their food did not disappoint. Looking forward to dining at this place again!!

Yelp
I came here with some friends who recommended this place and I am very happy with the decision! The Atmosphere is causal and intimate as it is a smaller venue though I kind of like it, including the back door patio. The service was friendly and attentive as well. We started with some wine and they have fairly decent selection and they were good. We got the cheese board and it was a good start. However, the highlights here are easily the mains. The pizzas were delicious! Very flavorful, robust, and my mouth is still watering thinking of that dough! The pasta was homemade, fresh and tasty as well! Overall, I definitely recommend this place for the fresh Italian food!

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience and the food was delicious. The owner/manager asked if we were celebrating something because we asked for a family picture. When I told him we were celebrating my daughter's birthday, he made a special dessert for us to share out of the focaccia. I also witness him talking to all the guests in the restaurant with a personal interest. I was impressed by all his staff and it was fun ambiance with the chef baking the pizzas in the kitchen.

Yelp
Very accommodating staff. They sat us early even though they weren't quite open when we arrived. Excellent food. Clean restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is a case of had it not been for a dear friends birthday, I wouldn't have known about this little restaurant with big flavors. So the thank you goes to my friend for turning a year older and celebrating with me. Tucked away in a small strip mall off of Thousand Oaks Blvd you will find this small family run restaurant. Who knew it has been there for 4 years?! Was another beautiful So CA afternoon so we chose to dine in the outdoor eating area. One of the servers set up the sun umbrella and we were quite comfortable. I oughta mention, heat lamps are also available on the patio to ensure a comfortable dining experience. One of my friends ordered the lasagna, thinly house made lasagna noodles filled with meat and cheeses, presented beautifully. Portion was quite generous, too. The birthday girl chose one of the daily specials, pumpkin ravioli with brown butter and sage, presented very artistically. Judging from the empty plate, she loved it! As I enjoy a good panini, I chose a veggie pesto panini and was told it was served on house made bread accompanied by a small salad. It was indeed quite yummy, and for sure I'd order it again. Restaurant is a terrific find, oh and the server was so helpful and friendly. Check this place out, it's a winner! Parking was easy, lots of available spaces in the lot out front.

Yelp
There are only wonderful things to say about this small gem! The only downfall about this place is it is not big enough and you might have a bit of a wait if you don't want to sit outside. Our server was very kind and made suggestions for us! We started with drinks and focaccia bread! (Tip: Be sure to get oil and vinegar to dip it in!) they make their pasta and it's very fresh and amazing! We got the Tagliatelle pasta which was a Cacciao y Pepe and the Marghwrita pizza! Everything was divine and perfect! There was no room for dessert otherwise we would have split it! We thought this place was a huge success and will come back when we are back in the state! Thank you again!

Yelp
Friends recommended we come here and we don't know why we haven't come sooner. This place is amazing! It was a busy Saturday night but the host and employees are so hospitable and welcoming; we didn't feel rushed and especially so since we had toddlers. It's hard to find a kid friendly restaurant on the weekends. We were seated outside and there were heat lamps so it was comfortable. As for the food, it's incredible. We ordered the potato leek soup, Made in Italy with angel hair pasta and the Margherita pizza. Everyone especially the kids loved the fresh pasta, so much that we ordered another one to take home. Thank you for the wonderful food and we will definitely be returning to try other dishes.

Yelp
I've only been there once but went with friends because they said they had gluten-free pasta. I've had gluten-free pasta and at a lot of places, but never as good as made in Italy bistro. Everybody loved everything they had and the service was fabulous. Closest I've come to Italian food outside of Italy itself.

Yelp
Visited Made in Italy on a Wednesday night and it was not too busy. Service: not the best but also not the worst. The host seated us quickly (lack of greeting) and the waiter took around 10 minutes to visit our table. It was pretty busy inside so we let that slide. Once it died down, our waiter checked in on us a couple of times. Setting: the restaurant is pretty open and has a casual concept feel. I really enjoyed the open kitchen and being able to see the wood fire pizza oven. It did get loud at times, but nothing too bad Food: we ordered margarita pizza, lasagna and eggplant parmigiana. The pizza was really good, crust was thin and overall tasted so great. They nailed this. The lasagna was okay, it felt like there was too much meat, but it could be because the pasta was overcooked. The eggplant parmigiana was also good, cheese crispy and definitely would order this again. Overall a great restaurant to try in the area and recommend the pizza the most!
