"Made Nice — the Flatiron fast-casual restaurant from the Eleven Madison Park crew — has closed nearly four years after it opened. EMP chef and owner Daniel Humm cited the pandemic-related downturn for the closure. The restaurant was initially pitched as a low-cost interpretation of the upscale dishes at EMP, serving items like a smoked salmon salad, curry cauliflower, slow-roasted pork with grains, and a soft-serve. Despite the menu revamp, the restaurant received negative reviews from critics and has been forced to close its doors for good." - Tanay Warerkar

This was a bit of a let down after all the good reviews. The menu items are pretty limited and the main courses weren't all that great. This was an early Friday evening so I suspect the food had been precooked and left to keep warm as the broccoli in the chicken dish was pretty wilted looking. I suspect it might be better during the lunch hour rush when they have a higher turnover and food is cooked more often. Not sure what it was but it seemed like dried out rice in the chicken and broccoli dish. It was crunchy and kind of unpleasant, didn't really go with the rest of the dish. The chicken itself was pretty bland. The salad we had was also pretty uninspired. The soft serve ice cream wasn't too bad. Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back.

This place is a great spot to grab a quick lunch or dinner. The tofu bowl is my absolute favorite. Their soft serves are amazing too - the original one with honey is my favorite, and they also recently launched a strawberry shortcake one that’s great also. The chicken sandwich is really good too

Pretty tasty! I ordered two sides and one of their garlic rolls. The ratatouille side was very good, but the corn soup was ok.... I thought it could’ve used a bit more ~oomph~... if you know what I mean. The roll is very buttery so one is DEFINITELY enough even though it looks small. The staff was nice and helpful! And the inside was clean and spacious. I thought it was a bit pricey for two sides + a roll, as it was about $14 - which is more than a regular sized entree that had an overall larger portion size. Will return to try their entree dishes! Then will further assess from there.

I very much appreciate the concept of this restaurant, 'approachable, counter-service, casual spot created by one of the top chiefs in the world'. The space is simple with a decent-size seating area and it seems to attract a trendy crowd. That being said, Chicken Rice I ordered fell a little short of my expectations. There were some very wonderful elements to it, like the crunchy chicken skin bits they added for amazing texture (which will be the first thing you notice in your first bite!), and the cherry tomatoes adding a burst of flavor in between; but the roasted chicken thighs was a bit dry which made the entire dish dry. Most people ordered salads during the lunch time I went, so perhaps that is the better thing to order! I wouldn't mind coming back to try something else since they have a lot of interesting items on their menu.

The food was great, is simple food made nice as the name suggest. I had a salad, very simple but it was delicious, and had potato croutons that were amazingly good. We also order a chicken sandwich that was had a nice spicy sauce, this sandwich was great. This a comfort food restaurant, keep that in mind, definitely a must go if you work close by or just want simple food.

I heard about Made Nice from a friend and she wanted to try it because it’s associated with Eleven Madison Park. We went on a Thursday Night around 6pm. The place was pretty empty around that time as I assumed it would be more packed during lunch time. The decor of Made Nice is pretty modern and wide spaced with fun drawings on the wall and plenty of seats. Keep in mind that Made Nice is a cash-less establishment and they do not take Apple Pay or any other forms of electric payment. Credit cards only. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Brussels Sprouts and my friend got the Frisee & Rosti Salad. Our orders came pretty quickly in less than 10 mins. I was impressed by the look of my sandwich because the brioche buns look so cute and fresh. After tasting it, the chicken was fried to perfection with their special sauce and caramelized onions. The spice level was perfect for me and I really enjoyed it. The Brussels Sprouts though, was disappointingly mediocre. I could make better Brussels Sprouts at home myself. The fried potato that looks like tater tots taste really good with the salad. My only complaint is there could’ve been more vegetables. Overall Made Nice is a very well-established dining spot if you want quality and quick option around the Flat Iron district. I will definitely come back next time to try their other options!

I've been to Made Nice twice now and while I've consistently been impressed by the service (so kind and almost unbelievably fast!), I found the salads to be variable in quality. The salmon rösti is delightful if you like smoked salmon--light yet flavorful, and every component works well together. The tuna niçoise, on the other hand, was largely bland and seemed to lack inspiration. Each ingredient individually tasted fresh and delightful, but they didn't seem as carefully combined.

Kale avocado salad, duck & waffle, and fries were good. The chicken ramen was not really good. It wasn't like a typical ramen. The broth was very thin and they used glass noodles.
