Our issue was not whether phone conversations occurred — it was about documentation and delivery coordination.
For a custom, non-returnable order with an invoice stating an approximate one-week lead time, our team explicitly requested written (email) confirmation of completion and a clear “ready for delivery” notice for record-keeping. Despite that request, no written notice or delivery scheduling email was sent for nearly three months. The first confirmed delivery was not scheduled until December, at which point the project had already advanced and no longer required the material.
Madera later acknowledged in writing that no formal written notice was issued and that communication relied on phone calls and internal records. While we understand custom orders are non-refundable, clear written communication is essential for coordinating construction projects. Based on our experience, that standard was not met.
