Madras Dosa Co. - Review - Midtown - New York - The Infatuation

"In Rockefeller Center, Madras Dosa Co. has their third NYC location. The Indian fast casual spot, with lots of dosa and pulao variations, could be a good option to add into your lunch rotation if you work in the neighborhood. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

After a long morning in NYC, finding this place for lunch felt like a blessings. It's in the food court of Rockefeller center. We had ordered dishes like Masala dosa, Onion samosas, samosa chaat, spicy Aloo matar sandwich, idli and shambhar and medu vada. Besides the medu vada all food was delicious and full of authentic Indian flavors. Medu vada were not cooked properly from the inside. I have become a fan of their south Indian food, especially their sambhar and chutney. The staff was very professional and ambience was great. We will surely return to this restaurant whenever back in the city.

The ghee karam idli was amazing. Also loved Pav Bhaji dosa and lamb kheema dosa. However the filter coffee was disappointing. It had more milk and barely any ‘coffee’ - definitely not reflective of a Madras based South Indian coffee.

Visited this place twice in my visit to NYC with my parents. Ordered Chickpea Pulao and Dosa and loved the food. The Chai was amazing too. Amazing hospitality by Rahul. p.s- Their Indian playlist is banging.

Delicious potato dosa and samosas! I cannot handle spicy food; these had just the right amount. Plus the sauces are so good-my favorite is the tamarind because it’s a bit sweet but I loved the minty yogurty spicy one too. Excellent spot to eat at Rockefeller Center! Nice seating too and very friendly staff.

We had dinner here with friends and truly enjoyed the food. We ordered chicken, lamb, and mixed vegetable pulaos, and all three were excellent. Each dish was flavorful, well-balanced, and perfectly portioned for one person. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying, making it a great dining experience overall. Would definitely come back again.

Come here for the food. We only tried classic traditional masala dosa and it was amazing. We're a couple from north and south India so we understand the flavors very well. Dosa was crispy, masala inside was phenomenal. Sambhar and coconut chutney was good too. tomato chutney was as expected too. The best thing was everything being just as it needs to be. perfectly spiced, not extra spicy (like some places do it) nor bland (like made for firangs). It was appropriately spiced as one may spice when making at home. :)

Excellent food. Desi coffee is must try. Desi hot chocolate is not very impressive. I tbought they will serve Bournvita or something like that. We were walking past after enjoying the Christmas tree and had dinner earlier but couldn't resist the dosa. CAUTION- DO NOT TIP ON CREDIT CARD. IT DOESN'T GO TO THE WORKERS. I I don't know if this is legal. They keep small cup for cash.

Loved the food. We came with 2 fussy kids and they loved it so 5 stars in our books. The spices were flavoursome which was impressive - not too spicy or chilly - just right for the tummy The varieties of dosas was impressive. All made then and there in front of you :) The idlis were fluffy and real nice. The accompaniments like sambhar, podis were as if made in india so brilliant. The chats were nice too. Best part - the staff who were happy , helpful and awesome. TONY, the chef making the dosas was particularly amazing and helpful. This is our 3rd visit here in our holiday trip
