How To Spend a Big Fat Weekend in Québec City | Bon Appétit

"A killer coffee shop by day and a chill cocktail bar by night, Maelstrøm is a certified overachiever. In the A.M. I opted for a cortado while browsing their selection of zines. At night, the lights dimmed, and the vibe was significantly less college café. I swapped my cortado for the Italiano, a low-ABV cocktail with Cynar, grapefruit juice, and tonic that I plan to recreate at home. You canandshould hit up Maelstrøm twice in one day." - ByRachel Karten

The Best Bars in Quebec City - Eater Montreal

"Complex and coffee-centric creations served in a beautiful red brick building with a cracking wooden floor. Decorated with an eccentric mix of wood furniture and a standing piano, there’s a vintage energy to Maelstrom, yet with a very modern and refreshing take on cocktails. It’s vegan-friendly on the food front, and has strong options for non-alcoholic drinks." - Allison Van Rassel

I went here during the winter holiday season (2024) to enjoy some Christmas inspired drinks, which were very delicious. I had the mushrooms eggs Benedict, two of the run run reindeer, a chrismaspolitan, and the snowball old fashion. Very nice pop-up Christmas themed drinks 🍸.

Nice cozy place, minimal atmosphere and menu, but really nice delicious coffee and breakfast. Stuffs are nice and cool! Recommend!

Food tastes as amazing as it looks! We had a lovely brunch on the patio bistro. High quality, thoughtful dishes at affordable prices. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. Menu is a delight for a vegetarian like me without compromising flavour or satiating factor. We will certainly revisit during our stay in QC 😍

I was looking for a nearby coffee shop with small bites when I discovered this gem, and I'm beyond thrilled I did. The atmosphere, the service, and above all, the coffee and food were absolutely incredible.

So cozy anx homely! The food was delicious and the rustic vibes are on point! The level of noise was a little high, but otherwise perfect 😊

I had brunch with my friends there, we waited around an hour for a table in the cold, the food I can tell it’s good but the middle eastern things are not really the same so if your Levantine don’t expect to get the same quality but it wasn’t bad I liked the food, the atmosphere inside is nice and cozy, is it worth to wait for an hour? I wouldn’t say no many other places has better food but was nice experience.

Really love the atmosphere and drinks are the best! Handsome bartender with high quality skills! I love the Strawberry one which was the third one I forgot taking the picture, but all of them are tasty! Keep going, best wishes to everything!

My family and I visited this restaurant while they were on vacation. We initially had a positive experience: the service was good at the beginning, and the food and coffee were delicious. However, things took a turn when my son accidentally spilled water on the table. A staff member came by, dropped a cloth and left it there without assistance. The most concerning part of our visit came when it was time to pay. We had an agreement that my husband and I would be covering the tip, and we added our usual 15%, after my family. A staff member then forcefully pushed the payment machine away from my brother-in-law's hand on his turn and became visibly enraged not knowing we would pay for his tip. After everyone had paid, he stomped away like an angry child, not even acknowledging our "thank you" as he left. This abrupt and aggressive behavior was truly shocking and ruined our meal. While I've enjoyed this place in the past, this horrible experience makes me reconsider returning.
