Bartenders were slower than the robots as robots stopped working. The orderves were ok. Entertainment was so so. I would not attend another event there

The magic box is located inside of the Reef here in Downtown Los Angeles. The magic box hosts pop-ups and conventions like beauty-con or pac-man pop-up. Both event had more than enough security inside and outside the building.

Really good the exposition beyond the king tut

Door man is a gem! Me and my husband weren't sure if we wanted to go in and the friendly doorman pretty much changed our minds by being so cool and friendly. We sat downstairs and ordered two of their more popular cocktails. If you are worried about the cost of their drinks, consider that 1 cocktail is a doozy! They taste amazing, are crafted professionally and are strong to boot. Really cool and fun place!

Decent space. Several rooms with different layouts for presentations, conversations, and general gathering. No WiFi access for my event and signal in the basement is minimal.

Yelp
I came here to speak at a convention being held here. The good news is it's near the courthouse and parking at the courthouse has a reasonable rate. The bad news is parking was rather limited for my event and I had to get tough when I wasn't on the list for free parking the day I was speaking at the convention. The convention center staff was very nice and friendly, the center has a nice layout and bathrooms are plentiful. I also liked the food options for my event but you might want to stick to mid sized events for this venue. It's also located right in downtown LA so it might be easier to not drive a car around here but that's my take as someone visiting from New York City.

Yelp
Went here for AFC. The staff in the premises was very professional, the area for the convention was big. At times it got really loud. There were only 2 stalls on the females restrooms, which I thought was going to be an inconvenience but it wasn't. The place was kept extremely clean. The elevators were fast. Parking was a bit small for a venue that accommodates so many people. Every day we were there there was another event with tons of people. We ended up parking 10 minutes and taking an uber to the location.

Yelp
This is strictly for the Magic Box itself and not for the IGN Live I attended. While this place is neat and clean with great security, it lacks the most important thing... WATER! There isn't a single water fountain, water cooler, or anything in here. There's no free water access to fill up bottles or anything. You're stuck paying for water which is a bit rude since I've never been to any type of convention center, building, etc. that lacked a resource so necessary as that. Other than that, the place is in an okay location with parking adjacent to the venue. The air conditioning works and the team they use to do projecting and programming was fine as well. Just wished they had accessible water.

Yelp
First time here at the IGN LIVE event. The people and staff are really cool and kind. Lots of goodies and eye candies ^-^

Yelp
I attended the King Tut Immersive Experience that was held at Magic Box LA. We parked at the meters directly in front of the venue. Two hours for $4 was better than paying the flat rate in their lot. We didn't plan on being there longer than 2 hours so it worked out for us. The bathrooms were clean and we debated getting something from the food vendors on the first floor. The first time we were there the immersive experience had a technical delay so we were told to come back another day. We had already paid for parking but it wasn't much so we opted to drive into Chinatown to eat. The second time we were there, we were able to go through the exhibit and enjoy it. Again, we parked at the meters, and weren't there longer than 2 hours. It was the perfect amount of time to enjoy the exhibit and the space.

Yelp
Magic Box LA is housed in the iconic LA Mart building now known as The Reef in DTLA. This one-of-a-kind event center has hosted an enormous array of special events and art shows, with customizable event space over three floors, which attracts arts, design, fashion, film, television, advertising, and even tech industries. It has its own private parking lot though events fare could be pricey $20, and I would also suggest using alternative metered parking along the street.

Yelp
The King Tut Immersive show was sooo very cool!! Magic Box venue hosted the experience. It was put together by National Geographic. King Tut tomb was undiscovered by tomb raiders and since it was left intact with all of its 5,382 pieces of afterlife preparedness for the 19 year old deceased King, it just had so much to offer the world in terms of learning about ancient Egyptian culture and beliefs. The staff at the Magic Box Venue were awesome and very helpful. This is a must do immersive event - if and when you decide to go.

Yelp
Saw the King Tut Immersive Experience. Definitely would recommend! It's awesome! You learn so much about the young king boy.

Yelp
The venue is okay... I like that they have a coffee shop at the bottom and most of the 'event' space is in upper levels. The elevators are really slow though so be patient. Street metered parking or $20 flat at their lot.

Yelp
Magic Box at The Reef held the 2019 Tea Festival. I have been there before for other great foodie events open to the public. Parking on the premises was $20 for day. It was the same across the street and next to the Mercedes Dealer. I wasn't sure if I could get away with parking at McDonald's for the whole day. So, I chalk the parking situation up to competitively even and paid the $20. That gigantic chair really belongs to me now. Eventbrite suggested the event to me. I decided to attend, and pre-purchased my tickets. I could have bought a General Admissions Ticket $20 and attend only free classes... However, I didn't feel it to be my cup of tea(s). Two full days of attendance would bore me completely. So, I purchased 4 classes that held my interest for $100; Tea Sommelier: Apprentice, Tea & Chocolate Class, Tea & Meditation Yoga, and Tea & Cheese Class. That price also included as many free classes that I could fit into my schedule for the day event and a vendor marketplace with a variety of live music and plenty tea samples (hot, cold, tea bags and more...). The Tea Sommelier Course graduated me to like a real life Tea Connoisseur. The Tea Industry isn't very innovative outside of packaging. Age old traditions work well. I remember a method for hand plucking as leaf-leaf-stem-repeat infinity (or until the labor intensive shift over for the day). There are six types of tea (white, yellow, green, blue, dark/black, red-purple), seven if you'd like to include matcha. Fruit, herbal and something else (rooibos maybe) are natural but not tea leaves unless part of a tea leaf mixture. The only way to make great tea is boiling the water and seeping tea leaves into it for 3 to 7 minutes. The longer the seep, the stronger the tea. Cane and honey are always acceptable condiments, however, tea can be enjoyed without anything added. China, Japan and Iran together are the biggest producers of many green teas. India has the largest production of dark/black tea and there are only 3 types of black tea (assam, darjeeling, nilgiris). Africa has the largest production of red-purple tea, which is a mix of crimson and green tea leaves. There are plenty other little details, but it gets complicated because the tea choices in the marketplace are many. You could actually log personal tea reviews for different teas in a notebook and become an affictionato too. Book clubs exist. Tea clubs can too. Anyways, I had a great day learning about teas (cheeses, chocolates and desserts). I met some really nice people. Also, I made wonderful memories. The day flew by pretty quickly. And for the record, Chai is just an Indian word for seeped tea leaves. Chai Masala is tea with spice(s). Spice is not tea, spice is a dried, grounded herb/spice/spice mix... And boy, it can accentuate a beverage (tea, chocolate, coffee or milks) to amazingly fabulous. Just adding a sprinkle of crushed cardamom or cinnamon to breakfast tea can unfold a new outlook on your life. Basically, I hope you try new beverages, hot or cold) too. Cannabis is a drug or drug derivative that I do not promote... However, it has found its way into the teas. Mesmerize yourself with tea(s). Drink responsibly.

Yelp
Great exhibition on Egyptology. Parking was really easy and right next to building. We enjoyed getting to know about this place.

Yelp
I attended the 2019 tea festival here over two days and got to see the event space in action. My impression: decent, but not great by any stretch. 1. Parking: It's a flat fee of $20 to park in the lot each day, which seems really overpriced. Across the street from the event space there are metered spots for up to 4 hours. Around the corner there are 6 hour metered spots. I parked about two blocks away for free - not sure I'd do that at night, but during the day it seemed ok. 2. Restrooms: There was one women's restroom on the floor of the event space with only three stalls. Not nearly enough for the size of crowd that events draw. It also didn't seem to be well kept up. I arrived right at opening on the second day of the event and the women's restroom hadn't been cleaned: garbage was overflowing, etc. 3. Event rooms: the main event room is a good size for smaller events. There were probably around 30 vendors in this room with varying sized spaces, and also a pretty good sized bar. The adjacent classrooms were disappointing: walls don't go up to the ceiling and they're own on one side, so there's a lot of noise which makes it harder to hear presenters. 4. Lobby & food: There's a nicely decorated main lobby which houses a cafe. The cafe good was surprisingly good for an event space. Like really good. If you end up here, definitely grab some lunch.

Yelp
Been here twice so far, once for a Bjork event a couple of years ago and most recently, the LA Coffee Festival. The building itself it huge, located off the 10 freeway, close to LA Trade Tech, as well as the Blue Line (now A Line) to/from Long Beach. They do have on-site parking which I think is quite pricey, at $20. If you can, try to find street parking. There seems to be lots of locals passing through the area. Look for signage as there may be multiple events going on. Inside the building, it's basically nondescript showroom floors. Look for the giant chair in the parking lot and you'll know you're there.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to the event here. Needless to say, if another event is here, I won't go. Not even for free 2 serious reasons (1) availability of restrooms for both 'genders' was awful and the ones that were there were not of decent quality. (2) you couldn't even talk to the vendors and hear a word they say. The acoustics were totally lousy. My guess if for LA the price is right, but it's not worth it any price Will not go back

Yelp
I went here for PhotoConLA a couple of weeks ago. It's really a cool building and there is plenty of parking but it was $20. When you walk in it is very clean and very artsy. There's a really yummy looking place to buy food and coffee. They have a fordable prices as well. There are four floors I believe and it is very spacious for a convention. they have food trucks surrounding it as well.

Yelp
Great creative space and one of the most distinctive venues in DTLA. Once the historic LA Mart Building, this is a welcoming place for all creatives. If you have an opportunity to attend an event, do!

Yelp
The lady at the first desk was so nice. I'm here for a meeting in the Cloud room. While taking a break, I encountered a very rude man who works here. He appears to be Indian or middle eastern. The second was empty I decided to walk back and forth only because I've been sitting all morning. The rude guy appeared to be showing the floor off to another gentleman. The rude guy asked if I needed help and I said no. He then told me this floor was closed. I responded with my meeting is on this floor. He said, "Maybe it's in the Cloud Room." I told him it was. I then asked if I could walk a few laps or if I needed to return to my room. With an irritated look, he turned away and totally ignored me. I'm not trying to start any drama but this guy clearly needs to work on his people skills. I'm not looking forward to anymore meetings here.
