"This Indian restaurant with a massive menu has opened on 85th Avenue in Greenwood. They’ve got classics like channa masala, chicken tikka, and plenty of biryanis, plus a few Indo-Chinese dishes, including shrimp fried rice and hakka noodles. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Kayla Sager-Riley

After some questionable signage, magic masala opened in our neighborhood! Food: we got butter chicken, chicken kadai, garlic naan, and a 555 biryani chicken. It came with a side of rice and a yogurt sauce that was a nice combo. I’d say I always get 3/5 or middle spice for all my Indian food or wherever there’s a spice scale and this was definitely a little spicier but pleasant. I needed water and the yogurt sauce so if you’re not too spice crazy, I’d go lower. The portions are large and will feed you 2-3 days after depending on how much you get. The biryani’s is very large so if you only had to get one filling thing, that’s what I’d go for. Service: good. We went on a weekday so there weren’t a lot of dine in groups but noticed a bunch of takeout orders. The service was casual, nice, and attentive. Atmosphere: pretty casual, one noticeable TV with Indian music videos with funny choreography and faint music while you eat. Place is closed on Tuesday. I would come again if wanting a little Indian fix. Not sure how authentic it is but still a good pick for a decent meal for the value.

So good, Magic Masala opening close to where we live is the best thing that’s happened in 2025! My husband is from South India and we would drive 45 min~ to Bothell and Kirkland to the couple places with good, home-style biryani, but now that Magic Masala is here close to us and has amazing chicken 65 biryani, chicken fry biryani, etc we are sooo happy. We dined in for the first time about 3 weeks ago, since then we have ordered take out at least 4-5 times and dined in twice. The portions are very large and price reasonable, one biryani will usually make 2 meals for the both of us. Sangamam also opened in Fremont recently, and we will go there for dosa sometimes or with someone who wants to have food served in fancy plates, but the actual food at Magic Masala (especially the biryani!!) is honestly so much better and the portions are large. The Dahi Puri is also great and can’t wait to try the rest of their food. We have friends from Hyderabad who live in the area and they also started getting food here regularly.

This new Greenwood neighborhood spot is putting out some delicious food. Wow - I was impressed! Had the garlic naan, palak with veggies and butter chicken. I highly recommend Magic Masala Indian Cuisine and will definitely be returning!

Magic Masala is hands down our favorite neighborhood gem, and we are beyond lucky to live right across the street! We eat here at least once a week, and every single time, it’s an absolute delight. The spices, the flavors, the warmth of the food—it’s like a culinary hug. The chana masala is perfection, with chickpeas cooked to the ideal tenderness in a rich, deeply spiced tomato-based sauce. The chicken tikka masala is a creamy, dreamy masterpiece—bold, tangy, and packed with just the right amount of heat. And the palak chicken? Absolutely phenomenal. The spinach and spice blend creates the most comforting, flavorful dish imaginable. I also love their aloo gobi dish. Beyond the food, the customer service is just as incredible. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They make us feel like family every time we walk in. If you haven’t been to Magic Masala yet, do yourself a favor and go immediately. You’ll be hooked just like we are! 🌟🔥🍛

New Indian restaurant in the Greenwood neighborhood I promised I would check out and it did not disappoint! Show them some 💜; it's delicious! 👍 The food was fantastic! Full of flavor. The server told me it would take about 10-15 minutes to prepare my order which I appreciate as it sets an expectation of timing and lets me know they are making it fresh. The Chai tea came out steaming hot (++) in a fancy tea cup (like that). 👍 Very clean, with great service! 👉There is a tiny little parking lot (only 3-4 car space) but better than nothing in this area which can be challenging to park in during peak times. And of course, street parking is available. 👉 FYI: No liquor yet but they tell me they are woking on it.

So this is legitimately dangerous to have a place this tasty so close to home. Delicious north and south indian options. Best gobi Manchurian in Seattle and as far as I have found maybe including the eastside. This place will save me 520 tolls (not joking). Biriyani has everything you expect, curry leaves, whole spices, and a ton of flavor. Chicken 65 is more of a gravy here and we enjoyed it. Prices are actually a great value. Worth all 5 stars.

Love this place! The food was very homey and deliciously complex. Was also excited to see dahi puri on the menu which hit the spot. This place was very kid friendly; MJ was our wait staff and she was very helpful and kind. My kid really liked the butter chicken and the mango lassi. Excited to try this place again so I can try other things on the menu!

Great Indian food. Love the elevated Samosa Chatt. The garlic naan, tikka masala and mango lassi all wonderful. Will be back for sure. Good prices too. Nice evening out without breaking the bank. All this plus 20% tip under $50! Thank you Mj for great service and being so welcoming.
