Magic Masala - Review - Greenwood - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This Indian restaurant with a massive menu has opened on 85th Avenue in Greenwood. They’ve got classics like channa masala, chicken tikka, and plenty of biryanis, plus a few Indo-Chinese dishes, including shrimp fried rice and hakka noodles. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Date of Visit: May 8, 2025 We dined at Magic Masala Indian Cuisine today, and what an incredible experience it was! The restaurant was quite busy, which is always a good sign, but we were still seated comfortably and served promptly. The ambiance was clean and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a hearty Indian meal. We tried a wide variety of dishes: cheeku shake, lamb biryani, paneer biryani, dal makhni, fish pakora, aloo tikki chaat, chai, cucumber raita, Hakka noodles, and chicken tikka. Every dish stood out in flavor and authenticity, and the portions were generous. The prices were surprisingly very reasonable, especially considering the high quality and portion sizes. Our server, Harshank, provided excellent service. He checked on us multiple times, made us feel genuinely welcome, and even recommended a few amazing dishes that we absolutely loved. His attentiveness really elevated our dining experience. One dish that especially stood out for me was the dal makhni—it had a unique flavor profile compared to the North Indian style I grew up with, and I found it to be absolutely delicious. The biryanis were rich and flavorful, the appetizers were crisp and fresh, and the chai was the perfect end to a filling meal. Even though my stomach was full, my eyes wanted more—everything looked so good! This place definitely knows how to leave an impression, and we will absolutely be coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend Magic Masala Indian Cuisine for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors, generous portions, and great service.

This is a new place started in 2025 serving authentic Indian food. Highly recommend chicken 65, malai soya chaap and goat biryani. They were all so good. Biryani raita is dahi with onion tadka and tastes really good; didn't expect that. Fish curry was ok. I would definitely be trying more items from their menu. Thank you for choosing Seattle :) New order update: 1. Garlic chilli soya chaap - not great, won't be ordering again. Very saucy and lacked the soya chaap flavor. I enjoyed the malai soya chaap, not this. 2. Samosa chat - loved the curd consistency and the chutneys. Overall a good dish. Since it was a takeout, the samosa became soggy. I'm sure it would taste even better when dining in.

We recently ordered takeout from Magic Masala Indian Cuisine and were seriously impressed! We got the Babycorn Chatpata, Chilli Chicken, and Burnt Garlic Veg Noodles — all of them were absolutely delicious. The Babycorn Chatpata was perfectly spiced and crispy, the Chilli Chicken was juicy and delicious, and the noodles had that perfect garlicky kick with fresh veggies. Even as a takeout meal, everything was packed perfectly and stayed hot and tasty. You can really tell they put care into their cooking. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for flavorful Indian-Chinese fusion. We’ll definitely be ordering again!

This place is incredible! I don't get Indian food very often, but I'm so glad I went here with my family. The waiters were super helpful and friendly, frequently checking on us and refilling water. One waiter gave me a recommendation for his favorite curry, Methi Chicken Curry, and it was everyone's favorite! All the food was delicious, well priced, and well portioned, plus the menu is very expensive and easy to navigate on their website. Absolutely come here if you like Indian food or are looking to try something new!

So good, Magic Masala opening close to where we live is the best thing that’s happened in 2025! My husband is from South India and we would drive 45 min~ to Bothell and Kirkland to the couple places with good, home-style biryani, but now that Magic Masala is here close to us and has amazing chicken 65 biryani, chicken fry biryani, etc we are sooo happy. We dined in for the first time about 3 weeks ago, since then we have ordered take out at least 4-5 times and dined in twice. The portions are very large and price reasonable, one biryani will usually make 2 meals for the both of us. Sangamam also opened in Fremont recently, and we will go there for dosa sometimes or with someone who wants to have food served in fancy plates, but the actual food at Magic Masala (especially the biryani!!) is honestly so much better and the portions are large. The Dahi Puri is also great and can’t wait to try the rest of their food. We have friends from Hyderabad who live in the area and they also started getting food here regularly.

First time here, great food and service. Will definitely be a returning customer! I enjoy all dishes but my dish is the tandoori. Moist and flavorful, not serve with rice or a side of their Chana Masala which there is another restaurant at Northgate that does that and such a good combination. This doesn’t not disappoint but those sides have to be ordered separately. Note on my rating, sharing this as I believe some may assume a 3-star review indicates a mediocre experience. 5 stars: Exceptional! Outstanding food, service, and/or experience—well worth traveling for. (For example, we often drive from San Antonio to Austin just for Uchi.) 4 stars: Surpasses expectations in terms of food, service, and/or ambiance. 3 stars: Solidly good or meets expectations. I would revisit any place rated 3 stars or higher. 2 stars: Falls below acceptable standards for food or service. lol 1 star: Best to avoid.

We unexpectedly stumbled on this restaurant and decided to give it a try, and we are glad we did. There’s a small parking lot for 3 cars in the front of the restaurant, but you can find plenty of parking across the road near Fred Meyers. We ordered masala chai, samosas and samosa chaat to start off. Chai seemed like it was freshly prepared and with the right amount of masala. We really enjoyed it. Then came the samosas and the chaat, they were crispy and freshly made, and we especially liked the samosa chaat. Usually you would get a soggy mess, but this was presented well, and had lovely flavor. Our entrees were very delicious as well, garlic naan, kadai paneer, 555 chicken biryani. The service was great, they cleared the tables to make room for all the food, it can get cozy. This restaurant was definitely a pleasant surprise find for us, and will highly recommend it.
