We were in Lakewood, it was almost 9pm, we wanted ice cream, and Magill's closed at 9:30. So we drove right over!
It's in a shopping mall, no lie it was a little intimidating and dark at night but Magill's is well lit and there's plenty of parking. There was a decent line on a Sunday night, but they had 3 people helping serve so it moved fairly quickly. In addition to getting ice cream to eat immediately, there are ice cream cakes, ice cream sandwiches, and containers of their ice cream to go (including some interesting/fun looking flavors!) They all looked plenty tasty!
They have flavors available online, but in-person there were even more to choose from. Both dairy-free flavors (sign says they use oat milk) and sorbets, although many of the sorbets include dairy as well. There's a good variety of fruity, fun, and classic flavors - I got one scoop of caramel brownie, and one scoop of black cherry. The black cherry had actual pieces of cherry in it, and the caramel brownie was pretty dece (although I maybe wanted even a little more caramel.) The ice cream is good and creamy, and the hot fudge was decadent and thick! You can get two flavors in a single cup, and that was plenty for me to get my ice cream fill. Prices were pretty on par with other places I've seen in the Denver area.
COVID note - the staff are not masked, there's no mask requirement and no social distancing enforced. They do have outdoor and indoor seating open. I think given the surge of the delta variant we felt a little uncomfortable with how many non-masked people there are; so just something to be heads up about. Otherwise a great ice cream stop!
