Magnifico does not only have my favorite coffee in the city, but some of my favorite people. They roast the best coffee, and I’d encourage you to take a bag home. In addition to some incredible local pastries, they also offer Colombian baked goods like pan de bono. You can also ask about events happening at the shop. Vinyl dj sets on most weekends, and a live music series by the coffee roaster. The best bagels in the city have a popup on certain Wednesdays (shoutout to Lefty) and so much more!

Magnifico Coffee Roasters is our new coffee spot added to our rotation of fabulous coffee shops in Chicago. Adam, the owner, is awesome! A very kind, welcoming and generous man. Not too many coffee shops have this sense of hospitality. We met Adam once and his demeanor and approachable personality won us over. The staff is great! Matteo and Valeria, the baritas, were very nice and fast with our orders. Magnifico offers great arts, creativity, instrumental music, house music and is a great source for supporting local neighborhood shops and giving back to its community. Magnifico is also a kid friendly spot. Magnifico is known for its delightful and robust Colombian coffee served ice cold and hot.

Such a gem- seriously! Cute, charming and well crafted Columbian coffee. They roast in-house. It’s authentic. Such a positive vibe here. Owners are so nice. The staff is so chill and kind. Seriously though, it’s a good coffee spot without pretentiousness and ego. You know what I’m talking about?? You do 😉. You know exactly what I’m talking about. They have events and pop-ups on the regular and DJs on Sundays, like all the time. Give them a follow and get here. One of the best local roasters in Chicago. Period. Boom 💥 10/10 recommend.

We came here on the recommendation of a friend who’s a regular. In short — the coffee is really excellent. No complaints. But like most coffee shops, this one could use more seating. When we arrived, it was empty, so we managed to grab a table, but within 5 minutes the place was so full that people had to just grab their coffee and leave. Overall, though, the vibe is great!

The vibe, service, and coffee here are great! Not to mention the beautiful and unique latte art AND live music! I got the 8oz toasted marshmallow latte (honestly it just tasted like a vanilla latte to me lol) but it was good! The lattes are reasonably priced (less than $6 for 8oz) and the beans are good quality (not bitter at all)! I recommend getting hot (for the latte art duh) but also because you can taste the bean flavor better! I will say, there’s not a lot of seating (mostly bar seating at the window (and if it’s a hot day, that can be quite toasty).

A true blue third wave coffee shop, no doubt about it. They roast their coffee in-house on a nice (I think Diedrich?) roaster and pull their espresso on a very sleek Victoria Arduino Black Eagle, so you know they take what they're doing seriously and it shows in their product. I had a double house espresso w/ sparkling water and since my niece was standing next to me the cashier went the extra mile and also threw in a complimentary hot chocolate for her too! First time I've ever seen or heard that done and was very appreciative of it. The flavor profile of their house espresso was a rich dark chocolate, almond, toffee; what you'd ideally come to expect from a well-dialed in house roast. The team working here was also so warm and inviting and it just seems like they've got a great thing going so do yourself a favor and come give them some business (and a good tip, too!)

Fantastic coffee shop near Avondale right off Milwaukee. Lots of parking on nearby side streets plus right out front. Small shop with just a handful of tables and cute bar height counters looking out the windows. I found it was a great shop to work from because there weren't too many distractions or loud noises, and the music was chill. The staff also couldn't have been kinder and friendlier! Their coffee menu is fairly simple -- why fix what isn't broke? I was planning on trying a toasted marshmallow (!) iced latte until I saw they had a special seasonal drink special: espresso tonic! It was sooo refreshing and delicious. Can't recommend enough!

Prior to reaching our lunch destination, I wanted to get some coffee and a snack in the area. My wife checked her food/restaurant map and mentioned Magnifico as a place she wanted to check out again (she had previously gone about a year ago and really liked it). When I stepped into the cafe, the first thing that I noticed and loved was the decor and color scheme of the place. The place felt warm and inviting, which was really solidified by the friendliness of the staff and our interactions with them. They greeted us when we entered, helped us with recs, bade us farewell when we left, and in general seemed happy to be there and engage in conversation if that's what you want. My wife's first experience here was very similar to this so I'm very glad they're consistent! Being that it was a blistering hot day, I opted to try something cold. They had a sign that mentioned an iced espresso tonic and so I decided to give that a try, pairing it with their churro donut filled with arequipe (I had to look this up - it's a sweet sauce made with sugar and milk that's very popular in Latin America). The donut was excellent and incredibly fluffy without being overly sweet as donuts tend to be. I was very tempted to order another! The iced espresso tonic was also a big hit - perfect for a hot day with a smooth taste profile and elements of citrus. If only I lived closer, I would stop by this place all the time!

Phenomenal family owned cafe and roster. Well decorated interior with lots of blacks and metallics and lots of owl motifs hidden about in honor of their late grandmother. In addition to the wonderful Columbian pastries, staff and the owner were very friendly, striking up conversations with patrons and really lending to a comfortable community friendly vibe. Absolute must visit, I just wish we lived closer.

A great spot, locally and family owned. Great coffee but even better breakfast pastries. I ate here every morning during an extended weekend in Chicago and did not have a bad item (ham and cheese croissant was my favorite, perfectly flaky). Staff was incredibly kind and helpful!

Great coffee...fabulous decor...flavorful pastries...friendly staff! It's a great place to sit and have coffee or to grab a cup to go. They make authentic drinks...REAL MACCHIATO!!! Although they would make the version if you want. But do the real one.

I've been here twice since I saw it driving along Milwaukee avenue. I've been in the area for a while and was looking forward to trying what looked like a great new coffee shop because there aren't too many around here. The coffee is delicious and the drinks are well made. I've had a basic hot and iced latte and both were top notch. Good flavor without excessive bitterness. Really good energy afterword without feeling jittery. My wife has had an iced matcha latte and a lavender latte. Both were delicious and subtly flavored (not too sweet). We also tried a bag of the house blend roasted beans at home and enjoyed the coffee. The almond croissant was also quite tasty. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They absolutely appreciate their customers and are happy to chat with you. It's a family owned place and you can really feel the care and commitment to the community and the quality of what they put out. The atmosphere is sleek and modern with a cool logo and branding. They are clearly trying to ingratiate themselves as a community-centered business that delivers on high-quality modern standards.

Stopped in to Magnifico for the first time after lunch today and was met with great service from the super friendly baristas. They were happy to explain their menu offerings and answer any questions we had. We ended up all getting various lattes and the flavor of the Colombian espresso roast they use was a nice departure from the usual coffee I've had. I got a small latte with marshmallow flavor and it tasted great! Had a well-balanced sweetness and the barista who made our drinks even decided to show off some of his latte art skills for us. I wished I'd left some room for dessert as the pastries looked interesting but I guess that will just have to wait until next time. The inside of the cafe may look a little sparse in photos but the space had an undeniable warmth that I wouldn't have minded hanging out in for a little longer if we had had time.

I wanted to love this place. I love coffee shops and I'm always interested in trying new spots. But this one isn't it. It's a tiny, sterile spot. It's definitely not a place to chill and drink your coffee. And it's expensive. An iced latte with tip was over $8. And it wasn't even good. It was just bitter tasting. I wanted to love it but I probably won't be back.

Stopped by this brand new Avondale coffee spot on Milwaukee Av where the owner is self-roasting his own direct imported Columbian, Guatemalan beans. The drip coffee was a perfect medium-light columbian roast with notes of chocolate but also bright somehow. Really great! The design vibe in here is awesome: owls! I talked to a co-owner for a bit--this place is family owned--and the owl logo is all about his grandmother, who used to love to paint owls! He has some of her original paintings on a wall with the story, and they commissioned a muralist to paint a crazy owl and floral pattern all along one wall--i would have thought it was wallpaper but he told me it is hand-painted. It's really cool. There's rail seating, a few tables, and wifi available. Baked goods coming next week when they are fully open, but it's open to the public now. Great new spot! Update: I found out that they received a partial grant from a Chicago community development grant to support new neighborhood small business. That's awesome. Hope they do well.

This coffee is unusually good for Chicago, I believe. The roast is smooth and yet quite powerful. This is not even in the same league as other locally roasted coffees, but rather approaching a high-end, or speciality roast of a Michelin restaurant. I do not expect to pay--post COVID-- a buck or two for this type of experience. It's not Dunkin Donuts! I discovered the business here, on Yelp. I travelled to Logan Square to have a try, and now its a favorite! This is a family-owned business. The family works well together it seems. I didn't even expect table-service, but I got it here! It has a good vibe for hanging-out. It's reminiscent of a coffee shop I visited in London a couple years back that I kept making my way back to throughout my London stay. It seems I'm doing the same with Magnifico Coffee now. Try it. If you enjoy fine coffees like me, you will probably find yourself going back to Magnifico many, many times!

Omg!!! The smell is amazing, I just want to sit and smell the coffee! They roast their own coffee which happened to be delightful. The service was a bit slow there was only three people in the front on a Sunday morning line wasn't long but it did take me a while just to get a drip that hadn't finished brewing. Obviously I was happy cause it was freshly brewed but I did run late for my appt and couldn't drink it. Downside there's not a lot of seats available so I know it will definitely be super hard to just sit and drink coffee in there. Anyway I also ordered an almond croissant which was scrumptious! Definitely will come back but with more time.

Stumbled across this gem of a coffee shop during a motorcycle ride through Avondale. It checks all the boxes of a perfect family owned high-quality coffee shop. First and foremost the espresso was rich and delicious and everyone seemed extremely nice and helpful. They roast their own beans and house and take a lot of pride in their craftsmanship. I spoke to one of the owners, Adam, who is delightful, and told me about his family's story and passion opening the store. There are ample number of tables inside and outside so I hope to come back to do some work in the near future.

Amazinggggg coffee. I got a bag of beans here for $16. The ambiance is super chill, very nicely decorated. The front window is super cool. The pastries are legit too. Will 1000% be back. Service couldn't be friendly either. Love that it's family owned

I went out of my way to come here because I saw they had opened and always want to support Colombian-owned businesses as a Colombian myself, but I was left with no desire to really want to come back. Upon walking in, there was not much of an acknowledgement or greeting from the gentleman behind the counter. From most experiences I have with Colombian owned businesses, I usually receive that warm fuzzy welcoming as that's always apart of our culture. Here? Nope. While the design and decor of this shop is very modern and nice, I thought it would feel less sterile and empty as well. Granted - they opened up recently so maybe it'll feel a little warmer and enjoyable to want to stay here. Unfortunately, after walking in and ordering, my group had no desire to stay so we took our coffee outside and left. Onto the coffee itself, my friend and I both didn't really like our coffee's too much either. Very disappointed, but I hope they improve going forward as I genuinely do want them to succeed. This place already gives the vibe that gentrification is very evident already in Avondale.

I'm not exactly a coffee expert, but this was the best coffee I've ever had. It's a family owned business with Colombian roots. The Colombian pan de bono pastry was off the chain good. The owners were very friendly as well. Last thing, my son got the churro donut and raved about it.

Got my coffee fix today, met the owners, Adam and Ricardo, very friendly who gave me insight as to the owl logo in their marketing, very meaningful insight! Great attention to details inside too. Also found out they can make a cortado w a Cuban shot, awesome!! Will be back !

Magnifico Coffee is a lovely addition to Avondale's coffee scene. My friend and I tried the vanilla and caramel latte which both tasted wonderful! The coffee beans are sourced from Colombia and are roasted on site. The pastries look to die for and I loved the inclusion of Colombian snacks and chips. The entire cafe is beautifully designed with locally sourced art on the wall and plenty of seating if you're looking to work from there. The owners were super sweet too!

The coffee here was amazing! It's so nice to have a coffee place that sources Columbian coffee with unique pastries. I had the churro donut which I recommend and the chocolate croissant was very good as well. There were also chips from Columbia on the side to purchase which was a nice touch. Will definitely be back!

i think this is my favorite cafe i've been to in a long, long time. i came in with some friends on a thursday morning. we were greeted by a very friendly barista who immediately made sure we knew they did also have cortados and macchiatos, even though those aren't on the menu. that was great, because a cortado is my drink of choice! i also got a churro, and our barista did an excellent job of making sure my friends got the other two that were left, haha. this place does super cute foam art, too! i got an alicorn on mine, one friend got a seahorse, and the third had a bunny. im a big, big fan of their espresso, and i would have gotten a bag of beans if i hadn't JUST ordered beans from elsewhere. our churros were also absolutely excellent. for the three of us (cortado, decaf cortado, salted caramel cappuccino, and the aforementioned pastries), it came out to about $30 with tip. I find this reasonable, personally, as someone who has tried many "high brow" cafes. it did take a while to receive our orders, but in my humble opinion speed should not be a factor in rating the quality of an artisanal cafe. good coffee takes a while! go to a chain cafe if you want fast. if i had to pick a complaint, it would be the seating. they don't have much choice there, since it's a small space. i don't think i'd come here to get work done or anything like that. it ended up being a great place to hang out and chat with my pals, though. overall, this place definitely lives up to its name!

Went here today for the first time and wow! The iced Latte was perfection and the regular, old coffee was terrific. They roast their own beans!! Right there! Their pastry which while it isn't made there is still fabulous. I had a bun with guava paste and my husband had a spinach croissant! Fantastic. The owner, Adam explained how the business is a family owned and run operation and I say let's support them!!!

We tried Magnifico Coffee today and it is the best coffee we have had for quite a while. It happened to be a gift from my son and daughter-in-law as my wife and I were celebrating a birthday in Chicago. The coffee and river cruise will be my favorite memories of my 70th downtown, and I'll be able to keep enjoying it each morning.....the coffee!

The staff were helpful, good amount of space for seating, not super loud, great atmosphere, and quality drinks! I'm not usually down in Logan Square/Avondale but when I do they're definitely on my list when I need a drink.

Small coffee shop that just opened 6 months ago. Very sweet and genuine owners. I was recommended the iced coffee lemonade. If you like both you love the drink. I was a bit skeptical but enjoyed so much. My boyfriend got their cappuccino- also stated he loved the flavor. Would definitely come back!

Coffee...AMAZING! Beans roasted in house, craftsmanship is spot on. Always a perfect pour, whether it's an espresso shot, a cup of coffee, a latte or a specialty drink. Customer Service...A++. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You want to keep coming back, for sure. Atmosphere...a welcoming atmosphere with cool interiors and comfortable seating. Obviously, a lot of thought and care has gone into making this a fun and classy coffee shop. Overall...a can't miss coffee shop in a great Chicago neighborhood!

Great coffee, delicious savory baked goods, and super friendly staff. It's a family owned business. We tried their spinach and mushroom croissant and I'm definitely eating that again. They have the setup to work remote, so I'll be trying that this week.

So happy that Magnifico opened up in Avondale! They roast all of the coffee right there in the shop and they do it so well. Definitely try their iced coffee - even without creamer or sugar it is super delicious and not at all bitter. To top it all off, every person that works there is really friendly and easy to talk to.
