A New York staple that’s definitely worth trying. The banana pudding is the main attraction and lives up to the hype. Really creamy with big banana chunks to create the perfect flavor. The key lime ice box cake was also great. The place was busy and it was run efficiently, but the staff was pretty rude. Wouldn’t hurt to smile.

Amazing banana pudding - this is the true highlight for me from the entire store and so well worth the time to queue and $ paid. The banana taste is super fresh and blends so well with the ultra soft pastry. Really a signature and one of the best I have tried! Bought their cupcakes as well and it was equally of great quality. They have a range of other sweet treats as well and coffee to go - cookies, chocolate cupcakes, cheesecakes, tarts, etc. Service is excellent and well worth the visit.

I wonder, why people admiring Banana pudding - it's just whipped cream, banana and caramel. It's tasty but doesn't worth its price. You will try it anyway, my review won't stop you, but honestly, as a person who can cook, I found it simply mediocre and overpriced.

Similar experience to their other locations, always a great train snack. Large banana pudding is now over $10! But it's always delicious and fresh. Baked goods look solid, lots of butter cream icing on almost everything. The peanut butter brownie is the way to go in my opinion. Beverages are available here as well.

Whenever I visit NYC, I can never and will never leave the city without stopping by Magnolia Bakery. I am a life long love of their original banana pudding. ☺️. The staff are always nice and welcoming. The location is 7-10 min walk from the heart of Time Square.

Just bought a banana pudding at this location and it had no pudding at all, just plain whipped cream. As if the staff forgot to add an important ingredient to the dish... Very disappointed with that and the worst experience so far, as all my previous visits at Magnolia Bakery at other locations in the city had been good.

We thought this little bakery was fantastic. The staff was polite and efficient. Even though their seasonal strawberry shortcake pudding wasn't on shelves, the manager scooped it up fresh for us. The pudding itself was also good. Not very sweet and refreshing. I do prefer their banana pudding though.

I have been enjoying Magnolia Bakery for years. This weekend a friend and I decided to visit the Grand Central location since it was close by. Standing online the excitement built as we waited our turn to order. The young man that took our order seemed unaware (which was proved later by the fact that we were given a wrong item. We ordered a few items, but came for the banana pudding of course. As I dove into the banana pudding, I'm like where's the banana..??? It tastes like it went on a diet. The flavor was non existent and amongst the few wafers I tasted whipped cream. My friend had a similar experience. I'm disappointed because this iconic item is that no longer and sadly I won't be going back to this bakery anytime soon.

I feel like a Debby downer giving this three stars, but I really could not understand what the hype was about for this normal, vanilla wafer, banana pudding? I wanted to try the hot chocolate specialty one but they were sold out and maybe I am still salty about that. IDK! Try a different NYC tourist trap is MHO

I come here often now adays. I live the seasonal puddings they have and of course the classic banana pudding. They have a blueberry jamboree that I love aswell. They serve you quickly. Even tho it can get a bit busy due to how good and fresh the treats are. I definitely recommend stopping here to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Finally tried the famous banana pudding. It's very good. More whipped cream than pudding consistency. I wish it was served colder. I would definitely get again.

Finally tried Magnolia in NY! We were able to get the original banana pudding and the special which was chocolate covered strawberry, we both enjoyed both of the puddings, tasted delicious, service was quick since no one was in line.

I have tried Magnolia Banana Pudding from their Columbus location and it was really good... so good that when I came back to the hotel I decided to go down to grand central terminal's dining concourse to get more banana pudding. The ones in here were not good, the texture was like whipped butter with no flavor. I am unsure if the pudding I got has been there for a while or if it was not stored properly. If you wanted to try it, go to the actual bakery and you will not be disappointed.

Not sure if it was an off day or they actually reduced the ratio of cake to frosting, but there were very thin layers of frosting on most of the slices. We handpicked these slices because it looked a little better. Both of the actual cakes were really light and a perfect texture.

I do not like bananas at all, so I was never interested to try the infamous banana pudding at Magnolia Bakery. Somehow, I decided to give it a try since I was with others and could give it away if I didn't like it. This location is in the dining hall in the underground floor. There is a long line, but it does go by fairly quick. I ordered a medium Banana Pudding ($7.25), which was perfect to share for 3. The banana pudding is a mixture of Nilla cookies, whipped vanilla pudding, and bananas. What makes this so tasty is the airy and light whipped cream contrasting with the cookies that give it a bite. I did avoid the banana pieces, which made this the perfect sweet treat.

I ordered their most popular dessert, the banana pudding. The pudding consisted of the lightest and fluffiest whipped cream, banana pieces, and vanilla wafers. As simple as it sounds, their recipe was perfect. The airy and light whipped cream was the best part, along with the fact that there was no artificial banana flavor. 10/10! Took away one star because of the location, it smelled really bad, like someone peed on the floor. I know this isn't their fault but it makes it hard to enjoy your dessert so I would visit a different location if you can but definitely try out their banana pudding!

Got the classic banana pudding and it was absolutely delicious and worth the hype! Its was soft, airy and light with fresh bananas. Not overtly sweet. The location itself is ideal for commuters. Lost a star because I was disappointed to find all the sweets premade and literally unfrozen. I prefer freshly baked goods. I've tried the red velvet cheesecake before and it wasn't that good (do not recommend). Service was quick despite the line. More of a grab and go place rather than sit and eat due to the commuter location.

I have been hearing so much about this bakery on the internet, that I just had to try it while I was in NYC. As we were heading to there store through the Grand Central Station, we discovered that they had a mini bakery right at the station as well. There was a line but it was moving pretty quick, so nothing to complain about. Even for a tiny store, they had a quite a few options to choose from, so it didn't feel like we were missing on anything huge. We ordered their classic Banana Pudding and a Blueberry Crisp. Loved both! The pudding was light but filling and not too sweet. I was worried about artificial banana flavouring, but there was none of that. It tasted so fresh and just yum. The blueberry crisp had the fresh tartness that I really liked. And again it wasn't overly sweet. Though I would've loved it even more if it was a little warm and served with a scoop of ice cream! :P But a definite win!

I absolutely love magnolia bakery, their cakes, their pies. Their customers are to die for the cupcakes are light and fluffy. Icings are not overly sweet. The service is great and align move along. I love the cheesecakes as well, especially the Keylime with graham cracker crust. Almost every time I come, I get that. I'm always interested in wanting to get the cupcake of the day or the week and for the last couple months. Every time I come to get a cupcake of the week they do not have them. I've tried going a different time to try going a different days and they just don't have them. I just don't know what I can do to get a cupcake of the week. I don't understand why they advertise them if they're never there .

Heard from a friend that this place's banana pudding was good. I didn't have super high expectations going into it but the first bite of their banana pudding blew me away! For only $5, you get a relatively large cup of their banana pudding which I found absolutely delicious! It tastes kind of like a warm banana ice cream of sorts but the flavor and sweetness just went together so well! I also tried some of the cold brew variant and found it also delicious. Must visit spot when going to NY!

Well known for your famous banana pudding I just had to stop in and see how it compares to my grandma's banana pudding I've had my whole life. And it was delish! Creamy, sweet, and thick. We also tried the red velvet banana pudding just for fun and it was great too, although the original was my favorite. What was a turn off though was the customer service. I know this is a busy, tourist area but the employees were actually kinda rude. There was an issue with the front door being left open when there was no room in the restaurant for standing in line so they kept having to yell to please wait outside until there was room. But the tone was quite rude. I knows it's incredibly annoying to say the same thing all day long (I'm a mom, I get it) but literally the people walking in didn't know and were immediately getting yelled at. A sign in the window would solve the problem or just reminding the employees that yes, they are repeating themselves all day, but to say it in a kind manner because it's literally different people coming in and out all day who are unaware of the procedure.

Magnolia Bakery is ALWAYS my favorite dessert spot in NYC! After hearing that the special edition Pumpkin Spice Banana Pudding was out, I knew that I had to satisfy my monthly craving. It was sweet and nicely balanced...had the perfect amount of pumpkin spice. The cupcakes were also delicious and I brought the other home to share with my family. The service could've been better...they didn't have any bags left and the worker seemed like he did not want to be there. Gave it a 4 star rating just because of the customer service. The food is 5 stars though. Food: 5/5 Service: 2/5 Ambiance: 3/5

The banana pudding is something to write home about! We went to the location in Grand Central Station. The line was wrapping around place. It was worth the wait! The visual display of treats tempts you while you wait to place your order. We ended up also ordering a blueberry crumble. It was fabulous! The hype is legit. We will go back to try other items.

Please retire from making cakes... I tried to give them one last shot to get it right but it was even more awful. The cake slices are extremely dry all the flavors when I tried it. No way that you all keep getting away with selling stale cake slices. I kept my slice this time just so I can leave the review. After that garbage. I ordered a slice of the vanilla cake with chocolate frosting. Cake was dry and dense with little flavor. Frosting was hard. I was incredibly disappointed. This place is a shadow of what it used to be. If you want to charge $7.95 for a slice of cake, don't serve frozen or stale baked goods.

After standing in line for over 10 min, they told me the banana pudding is not ready (will be in 6 min) but refused to sell me the pudding. Tell me I have to go back in line and start all over again when it's ready. I don't know what customer service that is. I'm sure the owner won't approve of that either coz it turned a lot of customers away. They have the worst attitude towards customers among all the stores I went to. I wonder why these staff was placed in this station when there's a lot of tourists come and go. Good way to earn a bad name internationally.

I've always had to take the train into Grand Central and one thing I always look forward to is coming to magnolia bakery in the basement of Grand Central. This bakery is amazing it never misses and it is so consistent. The desserts are you fantastic I've had things from cakes, cupcakes, the cookie bars to the banana pudding, and everything is so delicious and really satisfies the sweet tooth. The service is always quick fast and friendly. It's really fun because you can also watch the workers make the cupcakes while you are waiting in line. It's obviously a grab and go type of place but there is sitting in Grand Central if you want to enjoy your dessert there. The bakery is very New York, looking and very chic and monitored and clean

Delicious pumpkin cheesecake, exactly what I needed before heading onto my train. All of New York is overpriced, so I can't really fault them for that, but $8 for pure deliciousness won't kill me.

I had an online order pick-up. There was a huge line to checkout. I did not have to be in that line for pick-up but there was no clear sign so I stood in the line for a bit, until I grabbed someone to tell I was here for a pick-up. She was helpful but could not seem to find my online order. It took them about 15min to get my stuff together. I was glad I had ebough time to catch my train, otherwise I would have missed it. While the apple banana pudding I had on the train was yummy, the mini cupcakes were completely dry and inedible. Regular banana pudding was good but almost too creamy and sweet, one bite would have been enough. Unlucky for me, I bought a $ 50 large pack for a family gathering....which basically no one ate. Tossed it in the garbage along with the cupcakes.

It's sweet but it's good and worth a try. Even the small might be too much for one person at a time. Great dessert if you Like sweet bananas on a whipped bed.

Usually this is my favorite place to go when I stop by grand central! The chocolate cake with vanilla frosting is my favorite. But this time I think the frosting had spoiled. Usually they cut a slice from a whole cake, but this time they had a bunch of pieces sitting out in these containers. I'm not sure if these pieces had been sitting out for too long, but I ate it and the frosting tasted almost cheesy and disgusting. The inside cake was at least moist but I had to throw the majority of it away. I hope they fix this because I want to have good cake again!!

The limited-edition pumpkin spice banana bread pudding they have for fall is an absolute delight for pumpkin spice lovers like me. I visited the Magnolia Bakery tucked inside Grand Central Station. The service there is decent, considering the constant hustle and bustle of the station. It's usually busy, but the line moves swiftly. So, if you ever find yourself at Grand Central Station and need a quick bakery fix, Magnolia Bakery is the way to go. The treats are simply irresistible.

Solid branch of Magnolia Bakery! This location is conveniently in the food court of grand central. They usually seem to be out of the banana bread pudding in the evening though. We got the brownie bar, magic bar, and fully loaded icebox. Even though we weren't able to try the banana bread pudding, everything else we got was really delicious. However, the line is usually massive and there's not a comfortable place to sit in grand central.

My friend said this was a must-do in new york, and I happened to come across this spot walking around grand central. Came in the early evening and no line. Service was good, but it's in a noisy area so was a bit hard to hear. Banana pudding was sooo good, 10/10. I could finish a medium size if I wanted to! Highly recommend

I highly anticipated of trying the cupcakes first when this bakery first came out. It was a huge trend after the movie Sex In The City. Then the Banana Pudding came to trend. Located inside the grand central station Food Court - This small area serves the puddings and cupcakes and slices of cheesecake and cakes. The price is not bad. The Vanilla Cupcake with the pretty Pink and Lilac frostings - The cake itself was delicious. The vanilla flavor stood out in a nice way. The cake was tender soft. Not too sweet cake the frosting was also delicious but I am not big on thick frostings on cupcakes, cakes or cookies. The frosting had a tad bit cream cheese or something to it. I am not sure if the frosting had a butter cream taste to it? Anyway it was a delicious cupcake. The Banana Pudding was not I expected. I am used to creamy thick rich pudding coming from the south (Florida) we do puddings here thick and creamy. Magnolia's version is FLUFFY and LIGHT and not as sweet which is a good thing as far as sweetness. To me it was too fluffy. It lost its texture as the real PUDDING. The texture is similar to whip cream or cool whip. Def delicious with the cookies and bananas in there but the pudding texture I was not impressed. The staff here are helpful. Expect a line here - This and Shake Shack had a line based on observation. Order the MED size pudding rather than the small for the price. The medium is a good size. I would come back here again regardless - It's still a tasty treat!

I've been to Magnolia Bakery several times and it's never consistent. I got the Cookie Butter banana pudding, even though the banana pudding was delicious, there was only a couple of specks of cookie butter and you could hardly taste it. I don't get cupcakes or cake from here anymore because the last couple of times the cake was dry and frosting was too sweet. The service is a bit rushed and not much customer service. The employees don't even give you a chance to ask questions and decide. I understand that it's Grand Central and the line gets long but it's not free. Overall if you are going. Get the banana pudding, the other items can be a hit or miss.

Terrible. Had gone downhill substantially over the past few years. My husband got me a slice of my go to blueberry jamboree and there is barely any blueberry on it. Avoid at all costs. I can't believe he paid $8 for this.

This bakery is a must try. They have so many options, but I went with the strawberry shortcake pudding, and a red velvet cookie. The pudding was awesome. Fluffy pudding and ample cookies. The cookie was underwhelming, but ok.

Can't have a NY trip without trying the famous banana pudding! I have a sweet tooth so we grabbed both the pudding and a slice of confetti cake. The pudding really did live up to the hype, super creamy and flavorful. The cake slice was okay, super dense and had a weird almost gritty??? frosting texture. Maybe pass on the slices haha

This is a biased review of the banana pudding. My family and I grew up in Texas, where every BBQ shack, cafeteria, diner, etc. claim that their banana pudding and pecan pie are the best in the world. So we ate a lot of banana pudding. So, naturally, we had to try the Magnolia version that had been all over social media. We brought a container and digged in immediately. We digged deep, but to our surprise, we could not find any vanilla wafer. There was some type of cake, maybe shortcake. Nope, that would not do. Got to have the crispyness or texture of the vanilla wafer to offset the sweetness of the creamy pudding and soft whipped cream. Every banana pudding we ever ate until now had vanilla wafers. Also, the banana flavor was lacking. Like I said, this review is biased.

The banana pudding is a must-have!! I came here twice in the span of 3 days to get it, and they pretty much still had lots in stock even an hour before closing time. It had cake pieces with chunks of banana and a velvety whipped banana cream that was to die for. I would say that a large is perfect for two people sharing. I also got a slice of vanilla cake here once and it was not very good. The cake was super dry and flavorless. I would recommend skipping on the cakes even though they look amazing through the window. Looks can indeed be deceiving. I'm unsure if the cakes at other locations are the same. In addition, since it's at Grand Central, it's more of a grab and go place with no seating.

I went to get the seasonal Strawberry flavor but was super disappointed to open the jar and see it was literally just plain whip. No strawberry, no banana, no pieces of wafer, just plain flavorless whip. I went to explain to them that this isn't usually how the strawberry comes, and asked if i could get a replacement and the manager just yelled at me saying that the flavor is mixed into the base. Which is not true - I also included a picture of what the strawberry is supposed to look like (it's pink and has actual pieces of strawberry in it).

I was super excited to try this bakery after hearing so many of my friends rave about it. However, it felt short of my expectations. Maybe my expectations were too high but I thought a banana pudding would blow my mind. It didn't. My 11 year old sister ordered a chocolate cake and she seemed to enjoy it. However, I also tried it, and I think it tasted like a chocolate cake you could also buy from the grocery store. Also not the cheapest.

I'm a sweet tooth so this place was like a treat to me. Loved their banana pudding which is what it is famous for. Though there are plenty of options for cupcakes, only the vanilla and chocolate one was available. They run out quickly. The bakery doesn't have any tables or chairs to sit as it's a very small space inside the Grand central terminal. I kind of didn't like the service as the person helping me had the least patience while I was choosing flavors. Overall it's a good place and I bet you would love the pudding.

honestly i don't rlly get why this bakery is so hyped on tiktok i got the classic banana pudding but it just tastes like cream and bread. service was not the best. i ordered online and got to the booth & stood there for a while til they acknowledged me. i wouldn't get this again

We were on the hunt for some banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery, and finally found one in Grand Central Terminal when we were in the area. Admittedly, I wasn't super stoked to try it at first because it was called "pudding", but it's actually more bread and cream. Absolutely heavenly! It was super light and creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness. If you are in the area and crave something sweet, the banana pudding might be the perfect treat!

It's been a lil while since I've visited this location and yet customer service after all this time still needs work. I came to get the monthly pudding special, (Strawberry shortcake) and to my dismay the customer service still needs work. You tell me how two people behind me get to order before myself. I wanted to try and get their new banana pudding cookie and the lady that was behind my friend who was behind me got the last cookie. I'll tell you how that happened. The girl behind the counter assumed that my friend and I were together so she didn't even ask her what she wanted until after she got the lady behind her order and my friend actually spoke up and said what she wanted. Now if I'm first on the line, focus on my order and let the next employee help whoever is behind me, who was my friend and don't neglect me because I'm thinking of maybe purchasing something else, and that I did. I ordered a strawberry icebox cake. That's why you have more than one team member, to help someone else if you feel like I'm taking too long. My friend was unhappy with the service as well. So that's it! I'm done with this location. As I write this updated review I recently visited the Bloomingdale location and although they didn't have any icebox cakes I still left with a great pudding and the customer service was much better. It makes me very upset because this location wasthe closest to me and you can see Ive had several check ins here. I can't anymore. If I'm visiting the station for any other reason I may just stop in but for now I'm sticking with the west side. FYI the three stars is only because the pudding, cakes, and pies are always delicious, and those deserve five stars but the overall experience is three.
