Far too easy to walk past, but don't sleep on their hibiscus and pineapple-guava cupcakes. Beautifully kept little place. Best part: there is a poke shop next door, so you can have a mini-vacation in an hour.

I'm delighted that Mahalo has opened a second location in Manhattan! For the past few years this extraordinary cupcake shop has been a staple in Glendale, Queens. The freshly-made treats are mouth-watering and their cakes are out of this word - my family and friends all love their products (I might not be welcome on holidays without bringing a cake!) The staff are super-friendly and owners Sunita and Michael take great pride in their product. This is a small business that is worth supporting.

Another cupcake shop in the neighborhood! Mahalo Bakery is a must try. Unique, tropical, Hawaiian inspired flavors. Our favorite was the Hibiscus Cream cupcake, which reminds me of a Hawaiian twist on tres leches.
