"The  French Quarter location of Mahony's features an expanded menu and freshly shucked oysters, but the main draw is the same as its Uptown flagship: po' boy flavor profiles you won't find anywhere else. Good luck deciding between sandwiches like fried chicken livers cut with a Creole coleslaw and mustard vinaigrette; a "Peacemaker" combo of fried gulf shrimp and oysters, buoyed with cheddar cheese and bacon; and root beer-braised short ribs, rounded out by fried onion rings, arugula, tomatoes, and garlic aioli. If you're looking to make sense of the small but mighty new-school po' boy scene, Mahony's and the nearby Killer Po' Boys make for quite an appetite-crushing sandwich crawl." - Andrew Parks

"Mahony’s Po-Boys & Seafood will soon have two locations to its name — the brand is currently hard at work readying a spot in the French Quarter, reports Ian McNulty at The Advocate. The new location at 901 Iberville Street is slated to open early this summer. This is Mahony’s first expansion after a cool 10 years in business — Mahony’s has operated at 3454 Magazine Street since 2008. Back at opening, remembers McNulty, Mahony’s was on the cutting edge of chef-driven po-boys with a twist. The French Quarter location will continue on this theme, with some upgrades: there will be an oyster bar and new elevated dishes, alongside their beloved po-boys." - Alison Baitz

So we walk in, 7:20pm, and the guy jokes that we might be the last set of people, they close at 8. Nope, a few more groups do show up. But the music playing? Blind Faith's Can't Find My Way Home. Oh, BABY! That's just the start of a great experience. Awesome, awesome food, atmosphere, and service. My son had a shrimp and something Po'Boy, I have the seafood gumbo, my daughter had the chicken and something gumbo, and my wife had the catfish and (looked like) collared greens. Everything was great, authentic, and tasty. A+++

Hands down! Delicious! Best gumbo that I have found in town yet. But let me tell you, the staff is some of the best I have ever met in my travels. The kindness shown to an out of towner was truly a delight. Even in Vegas I have never experienced the hospitality that this place shows. Please visit them and support them. Not only do you get wicked good food but the people, the people are what make it special.

Mahony PoBoys is on the walking food tour. It is the place to taste the most amazing PoBoys. Not being local, we expected to be another aptly named sandwich but it is not. It is the shrimp PoBoy that will amaze you. It is their signature dish. A perfect mix of lettuce, mayo and tomatoes. We enjoyed it so much we can back to only be disappointed by the Angus Pot Roast Beef – the meat was too dry and juice that came with it changed the texture of the baguette. The alligator sausage was ok but not to their standard of shrimp PoBoys.

The absolute best club sandwich I’ve ever had 💯! Great tasting ham & Turkey with the best bacon I’ve had. My wife ordered the pork skins with the cheese dip and also had the cheese covered fries . We were stuffed to the max, appetizers are very shareable items.

I had the small (6”) root beer glazed ham po-boy fully dressed and it was amazing. It’s served warm and the ham had a nice sweetness to it. I’m definitely going back again before I leave, and plan to have the king cake ice cream dessert next time. Service was quick and nice. I visited just before noon on a weekday.

Delicious local flavors! We had an early afternoon meal here...tried po-boys, catfish, and alligator sausage. Everything was heavenly. Mahony's wasn't too crowded, but the dinner hour can see bigger crowds. Prepare for a brief wait anytime after 5:30 or so. Our server was super charming, too. Win win!

Mahony's was right across from our hotel, so we decided to stop in one day for a quick lunch. Honestly, we didn't have high expectations for some reason. It seemed to be closed a lot - again, it was by our hotel, so we passed it many times. And when we went in, it wasn't very crowded. Well, it turned out to be a surprisingly good find! My son and I thought it was much better than some of those higher rated places - don't be fooled by ratings! I'm not sure how some places have the ratings they do. Anyway, we ordered the Blue Crab Jalapeño Bites because the Tabasco powdered sugar intrigued us. They did not disappoint! We liked them a lot, and the powdered sugar was an interesting add. However, our favorite thing was the Peacemaker Po-Boy. I see why they say it's an award winner. We got the smaller size - and it was still HUGE! Enough for us to share, although I do think my teenage son could have eaten the entire thing and probably wanted to, lol! I only got a couple of bites, so I guess that wasn't really "sharing", now that I think about it! I think we had a po-boy at two other places during our stay, but this was our favorite. It was piled high with everything cooked just right. The service was also great! I would totally come back to Mahony's just for that po-boy and a glass of wine.

The one in the Garden District was better but still a very good option for food. Food wasn't quite as good here but still had an amazing Peacemaker Po-boys. Onion rings tasted a little more salty here too but still good. The guy who served us was great. Very friendly and made us laugh a lot
