Opened in 1985 and credited as the city’s first Vietnamese restaurant, Mai Lee is still essential—think salt-and-pepper calamari, pho, and canh chua. Celebrated in recent features by St. Louis Magazine and praised by Sauce’s editors.

I've been to Mai Lee twice. Both times my food was flavorful and delicious. I strongly suggest this restaurant. The first time I came I absolutely loved the savory Pho. This time (meal pictured) I loved the Egg rolls (meatiest and best tasting I've ever had) and the Com Tho. I have no complaints about that tasty experience. I'm definitely going back again to enjoy what I had previously and to try different things on their HUGE menu.

Google
Easy parking was such an unexpected attribute. We arrived and we opted to sit outside, since the weather was so nice. A very attentive, patient and friendly server brought us our appetizer, drinks and orders. The food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely make plans to return.

Google
Top notch, family run Vietnamese spot. Phenomenal food and service. I started off with pork, spring rolls and pot stickers. Both were very tasty..As a main course I had Lamb with Chili is onions and pork fried rice both were delicious! I had to bring some chili paste to kick it up a notch. The service was wonderful. They also have a full bar. I cannot wait to return.❤️

First time there on a Tuesday evening, it was insanely busy! Our wait was about 15-20 minutes. I love pho so I had to try it, definitely pleased and hit the spot. Their menu is huge so my parents ordered by a number, the server knew all the numbers by memory and repeated the dishes in simple terms to make sure we were content with what we ordered. He was attentive and friendly. Food came quickly

Food was delicious! So much on the menu too choose from. Can’t wait to return.

Best St. Paul sandwich in town! I like mine plain, which comes with onions and bean sprouts. Their fried rice is amazing too. Love this place!

Google
Mai Lee is a fantastic restaurant with hardworking staff and tons of food options on the menu. The menu is so large that they number the items, so we would order 24, 35 and 89 for example, and the waiter knew exactly the dish according to number. And we are talking about a menu with 200 items on it. The food was amazing, so delicious and came out in a timely manner. The portions were also very generous. The service again, was great. They were attentive, we sat right away, and the ordering process was easy. The atmosphere is better on the bar side versus the restaurant side, but I understand as they are trying to accommodate a larger number of customers.

Google
Mai Lee serves the best Vietnamese food in the area—hands down. I gladly drive 30 minutes just to enjoy their consistently delicious dishes. The service is truly exceptional; even when the place is packed, the staff remains efficient, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. As someone with celiac disease, I really appreciate that they clearly label gluten-free options, and I’ve never gotten sick after dining here. I honestly can’t stop thinking about their amazing food and always look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and had the best service. They were very busy and the dining room was on a wait but our food came out in less than 10 minutes and was some of the best Pho I have had. Along with the service it was a 10/10. Definitely recommend eating here.

Yelp
WOW!!! Last weekend we were shopping at stores in Brentwood, between Brentwood Road and Hanley; we drove down the street where Mai Lee is located, realized we were hungry, parked and we were soon seated and asking the table next to us what they were enjoying... it looked and smelled wonderful... they happily informed us that they were enjoying one of the fire pot soups. Fire pot soups are similar to fondue insofar as both have a heated bowl of soup / broth into which you put meat and / or seafood (or other items), they cook in the broth, and then you eat. Fire pot soups are unique, in their flavors, and in that you can ask fill your bowl with Vietnamese noodles, bean sprouts and other ingredients. Since Mai Lee has been around for more than 40 years, there are very many people who already knew of fire pot soups (!!); we just learned about them on our visit; hopefully other people will discover Mai Lee like we just did. We enjoyed: 1. egg drop soup and 2. Lau Sate (which is item #198 on menu page 11) Combination of beef and seafood in a coconut sate soup (mild spice) Beyond the wonderful food, we had fantastic service, provided by Duy (pronounced Dewey / Duey), who is a great host.: - Once Duy confirmed this was our first visit, he guided us through the menu and helped us pick Lau Sate - he helped us understand how to soak the stiff, dry rice wraps, to become soft, to make them into spring rolls - helped make sure we would have a drive home with leftovers that would not leak in the car As mentioned, the food was wonderful and so was the service. We're very glad we discovers MI Lee!!

Yelp
Mai Lee was good. The restaurant is a sort of cafeteria-hall vibe which is interesting, but the menu is large and very authentic. The menus are mobile and you use a QR code to read it. Here's what we got: -Potstickers: 8.5/10 - The dumpling dough was thick, which made them unique and delicious. The sauce that they came with was also to die for. -Vit Ca Ry (Duck Curry): 8/10 - The broth is incredibly aromatic, with a lovely coconut base flavor. The bowl is HUGE and we did wish that some of the ingredients (potatoes and carrots) were cut smaller for ease of eating. However, the duck leg was moist and the noodles were plentiful. -Bun Ga Nuong (Noodle bowl with Chicken): 7/10 - This was good, but simple. I do wish that the chicken was more flavorful, and that it had been presented more beautifully like the rest of the dishes. But it did the job.

Yelp
Very delicious. The service was a bit weird, but nothing that was off-putting. We came here after quite the drive, so we took turns using the bathroom after we decided on our orders. No one came to take our orders until everyone was seated at the table. It was quite busy inside and outside. We were sat inside where it was a little loud. I enjoyed the decoration. The food was splendid. I got a meal from the Vietnamese portion of the menu. However, someone in my party got a meal from the Chinese menu and was not impressed considering the price.

Yelp
Mai Lee Food Review My friend took me out before a show and encouraged me to try something new instead of my usual #142. The server suggested the #152 GF Dau Hu Chien Gion - crispy tofu stir-fried with onions, served with their special pepper lemon sauce ($22.95). I ordered mine without onions and added veggies for an extra $6.00 - definitely worth it. The tofu was perfectly crisp with great flavor, and the vegetables were cooked in a garlicky mix that was delicious even on their own. I'm not a big lemon pepper fan, but I gave the sauce a try and was pleasantly surprised at how well the flavors came together. If you love lemon pepper, you'll really enjoy this dish. Personally, I'd order it again with a different sauce, but it was still very good. It reminded me that I need to step out of my comfort zone and try new menu items more often. There was a small hiccup with my order because the restaurant was busy, but the server was kind and quickly corrected it. That's what good customer service is about--fixing the issue with care. Overall, Mai Lee continues to deliver excellent food and service. They never miss a beat, and I'll definitely be back. If you haven't already, get out there and try something new on the menu--you might be surprised like I was! Yes this was all vegan.

Yelp
In all the years I have been going to Mi Lee(even when they were on Delmar) and when in town l, I would take family. This is the FIRST time we had such a VERY disappointing experience where the much of the food didn't taste fresh. Even after appetizers, I had to waive down the server so we could even order. There was a group of 3-4 employees sitting at table near kitchen just yapping away. The appetizers were delicious. We all enjoyed them. My Lunch (egg Foo Yoong combination lunch) Sweet & Sour soup was good but lunch portions were small and dried out and just didn't look nor taste fresh. My son and wife ordered the Pho which appeared "OK" but my wife was still disappointed; not much meat in either Pho. My MIL ordered "Chicken Fried Rice" where rice was heavily soy seasoned & and almost like refried to look fresh. Plus as a meal dish , at $17.95 it barely had any chicken meat; almost all rice. My son's beef dish also was sparse on meat and sauce too sweet. We finished only 1/2 our meals (and except for appetizers, we ate them). Took home rest of food. My son didn't even want to eat rest of his meat dish as taste was too sweet. The pho only had mostly noodles and bean sprouts. For the 5 of us with mandatory 18% "tip" total was almost $200. I've spent more elsewhere but food was delicious. I hate spending $ (their lunch menu is even overpriced and same price like regular menu. I believe and hurts me to say this was our LAST time. Unfortunately, the prices were all over priced for lack of quality and minuscule meat portions. This is NOT the Mi Lee I remember. My 11 year old said he preferred another Vietnamese restaurant where we have never been disappointed.

Yelp
This is a popular casual Vietnamese restaurant in Brentwood. They have plenty of seating available but it can get busy during dinner on weekends. Our go to dishes are the chicken pho and bun rieu. The broth for chicken pho is so rich and flavorful. I like the bun rieu because it's spicy tomato and crab-based broth with crab meat and shrimp and rice noodles. Both dishes are gluten-free as well. Vietnamese coffee brews in front of you and then you mix the condensed milk in for a rich but creamy flavor. Service is always fast and friendly.

Yelp
Coming here tonight was a stroke of genius. After a full week of Italian food and steaks we needed something else and pho was the choice. We arrived and were quickly seated and provided water. After sitting at the table awhile I finally noticed a card with a QR code on it we should scan to see the menu. Luckily, our server, Duy M, showed up and provided some real menus. We ordered the number 46 egg rolls and the number 10 and 12 pho. I'd say the food came out fast and Duy was a super server. At least all the goodies you put in the bowls was plentiful and Duy even brought out some extra bean sprouts. The egg rolls were just eh. The pho was good but not great. Have had better in Tucson, but for tonight it hit the spot. Busy large and full dining room, well lit and moderate noise but very simple. It's clearly popular here.

Yelp
Love Mai Lee! As a vegetarian, my go tos are the fried vegetarian egg rolls, fresh tofu spring rolls, and the #16 noodle soup with vegetable broth. Their Thai Tea and Vietnamese Coffee drinks are also so refreshing with a hot bowl of soup.

Yelp
Delicious Vietnamese and Chinese dishes! The service is quick and knowledgeable. Ambiance is modern and pretty. My kids and I went out for a belated Mother's Day dinner. I ordered the beef with peppers, my daughter ordered the pho ga which is like chicken noodle soup and my son ordered General Tao's chicken. We ordered potstickers and crab Rangoon to share plus water, Vietnamese iced tea or iced coffees to drink. There is a good sized patio available for dining too. Leftovers were delicious the next day too.

Yelp
Mai Lee - Flavor That Speaks Louder Than Words Let me be honest--Mai Lee is one of my absolute favorite spots. The food is consistently phenomenal, fresh, and packed with flavor that keeps me coming back again and again. Whether it's the pho, the shaking beef, or literally anything off the massive menu, it always hits the mark. Now... my husband? He's not as in love. His review: "Great food, but the service is kinda cold." And to be fair, the service is efficient, but not exactly overflowing with warm fuzzies. You're not going to get a lot of small talk or lingering check-ins--but you will get your food quickly, accurately, and piping hot. (And honestly, I'll take that over a 20-minute wait and a new best friend any day.) Mai Lee is like that quiet overachiever in school--doesn't say much, but delivers excellence every single time. Bottom line: If you want a place with mind-blowingly good Vietnamese food, fast service, and no-nonsense efficiency, Mai Lee is it. Bring a friend who's here for the flavor--not for the chit-chat--and you'll leave very, very happy.

Yelp
This place gets really busy but good thing we were seated right before it got too packed. Server was really nice and quick, he remembered our orders and would often check up on us. Food was not too bad (I'm from Toronto so we have a good amount of Vietnamese food). My friends enjoyed their food as well. We got pho, general Tso's, chicken chow mein, and duck. Overall, not a bad Vietnamese spot.

Yelp
Just ordered the Hu Tieu Mi for takeout on a whim and it was just as good, if not better than the pho! I've never branched out much from Mai Lee's pho, but so glad I tried this other soup dish. It's similar but a totally different flavor profile, with a rich chicken broth and seafood and pork meats. Delicious!

Yelp
A parked in tnt parking garage and there was plenty of free parking. Once we came in, the hostess could've been friendly but not a big deal. Usually when you walk into an establishment, the hostess would greet and ask how many. I just looked at her until she acknowledged us with her words. Once we were seated, water was delivered and our waiter followed behind. The service after was really good. We came during lunch so it wasn't too crowded. I really enjoyed my shrimp St Paul and hubby liked his food as well. He said the rice a a little bland but not too bad when you mix it with the sauce. I also ordered the Mai Lee tea with vodka. Delicious! This is a place we would very likely return to.

Yelp
So many people I know have gone to this place, so I HAD to try it. "This restaurant better have me jumping up and clicking my feet!" I thought to myself as I entered. I could say it did! The staff was really friendly and nice and the entire experience was light hearted and welcoming. The place is super-duper busy when you first walk in, I don't know what you'll need with that information, but I'm sure it's useful in at least one person's head! Tables and seats are clean. Parking spaces aren't far from here. Pho was pretty decebt and the broth was seasoned fine. Not bad I will say for my first time. I've got to try the other items though, I'm sure they're also good!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! With a menu that doesn't seem to end; service that is prompt, attentive and helpful; food that is incredibly tasty, fresh, and hot; and casual atmosphere that is fun and easy going... This place is a winner! What we ordered: - spring rolls (4/5): These were decent. Very fresh and large. Would have liked more protein. - Ga Xao Lan #91 (4.5/5): Excellent flavors. Gave yellow curry vibes. Would get this again! - Ga Xao To #96 (4.5/5): again, excellent flavors with good portion of veggies. Would get this again! - Banh Xeo #54 (4/5): have never had a dish like this and I liked it! Good portions and the flavors were decent.

Yelp
They have pretty good pho, but just not my favorite. They serve the food really quick! We got both of our orders in about 5 minutes. Just need to make sure you go really early to avoid the line, which started to form shortly after 5pm. I ordered pho tai bo vien, which should include meatballs and sliced beef. I was honestly quite disappointed when there's just one sliced meatball in the bowl when it's $2 more than the regular pho tai. Besides that, their pho was pretty good with clear soup! Bun bo hue was pretty tasty too if you like a less spicy version.

Yelp
I've been to Mai Lee many times. I always enjoy it but I didn't give it a 5 star. It was all very good but I find it to be very pricey so for the value, especially for lunch since it's the same menu as dinner, I'd rate it a 4 star. I started with #37 Goi Cuon Thit Nuong- bbq pork spring roll. It came with fish and peanut sauces and both were very good. This is one of my favorite appetizers. It is a cold appetizer. Then I ordered #144 Dau Hu Xao To- stir fry tofu and veggies in a black bean sauce served with white rice. This was my first time trying this one and I would order it again. It's not spicy at all, had a nice deep flavor and a good size portion. My friend ordered her usual #11 Pho Ga and loved it.

Christian S.

Yelp
Best menu, terrific service, tastiest salt and pepper calamari ever, spring rolls, pho, and on and on. With a solid Asian beer. Five stars. Period.
google avatar

Trevor M.

Yelp
Mai Lee is pretty unique. They offer a casual dining experience with a lot of options. We arrived at 8 and found they had a lot of seating available. The service was very good. Our waiter knew the menu numbers, when I asked about curry he listed 4 numbers, 1 from each type of protein (vegetarian too). We ordered pad thai, sweet and sour pork, and a Thai iced tea. The pad thai, served with lemon as it should, was delicious and the shrimp were very flavorful too. The sweet and sour pork was good too, the breading was sweet and the sauce was sour. I didn't eat the rice as I decided to take it home for making fried rice. I felt leaving still wanting more so getting a salad and eating the rice would have been better in hindsight. Thanks Mai Lee, can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Three things I like to share about this place: 1. Choices of the food. They have so many different things and I literally did not go through all of them! Their online menu has about 140 items and I only browses first few pages and made my choice. 2. Fast service. There are many people but the food came pretty fast considering how many people they have to serve. I like it. 2. Price. Nowadays every thing is so expensive and we simply do not go to some restaurants because it is getting out of control and I just do not feel it is worth it. But Mai Lee keeps their price reasonable, I feel I can get good meals with a price that I can accept. Overall I like it and I can come back.
google avatar

Francine Y.

Yelp
I thought this place was just OK. I got a vermicelli dish. I did not like that. They already put the fish sauce in for me. I would like to control how much fish sauce I put into my own dish. The service was really good. The place was really packed and moderately loud. They only give you one size bowl for their noodle dishes. The rice dishes to me, looked only OK. I did not get to try them. But it did not look like there was much meat in them.

Yelp
Mai Lee is a Mai Oui for me! I am visiting family from St. Louis and we were craving a good asian spot! This place has an extensive menu- like over 200 items, which seem to be primarily a mix of vietnamese and chinese food. The spot is located in Brentwood and has a massive free parking garage close by. The restaurant is much bigger than I thought with a bar area and a huge dining room. Its clean and simple! We got there around 6:30pm on a Tuesday and even though they were busy we were seated right away. Originally they told us to use QR code for the menu, but our server also brought us a physical one, which was nice. Its hard deciding what to get- I kept looking to see what others around us were ordering. We did some vietnamese and chinese items. To start we got crab rangoon and #34 (Goi Cuon) which is like rice paper spring roll. It said its served with a peanut sauce, but it seemed more like a hoisin sauce with peanuts in it. The rolls were really good! The crab rangoon was pretty standard. They gave us packets of sweet and sour / hot mustard. I wish they would have made these sauces homemade. For entrees we split a few things- Sesame chicken which comes with broccoli and I added green onions. They are very flexible if you want to add or sub something! We also got #95 (Ga Xao Xa Ot) which is chicken stir fry in hot chili. We were hoping this was spicy, but it was not at all. It had lots of flavor but no spice. And lastly #91 (Ga Xao Lan) which is chicken coconut curry dish. We got white rice, but I also asked for a fried rice which is $5 up charge. The food was very flavorful, hot and fresh. We got fortune cookies at the end but somehow mine didnt have a fortune inside! I would go back here and try other dishes! Overall experience 4/5

Yelp
I was there today for lunch with my friends, I am a little excited because I heard a lot of good things about this place, however, my perception change drastically, first, we sat down, we noticed the people behind us when we arrived was already been served, fine and dandy, we're looking for somebody who will look our way, a lady brought up glass of water, we waited again for a little while, she said I will be right back but never did, finally, a young man who I thought has a lot of attitude, since we thought the menu has changed we asked him if they still serve such dish, and his answer was abrupt "27" on the menu not friendly and absolutely not helpful at all. He took our orders and left, we waited again once our food arrived in the table our appetite were gone, my order arrived as my company finished their meal. I ordered Soft shell crab I was told because it takes time to cook, but I noticed the inside of the crab is still raw and this is supposed to be crunchy what a joke, I also noticed this man is asking everyone how was their food but never even ask us how was or why our food is so late, And his response is " that is not my job, I am just helping on orders" but anyway, I will not be going back nor recommending this place anymore! The price is outrageous and the service sucks.

Yelp
Mai Lee is always good. Haven't had something off the menu I didn't like. They have so many options and are good with allergies.

Yelp
Never seen a place so busy. Takeout was a constant stream. The pot stickers were not good at all. #93 or 95? Chicken with lemon grass was excellent. Service was good. Sat at the counter
google avatar

Yelp
Golden tofu with veggies and lemongrass the best in the city. Carry out prepared quickly and so good I am going for at all of the order.

Yelp
The food was fresh and delicious. The service was accommodating. Very well lit and clean. We had a big group and the server was very polite, and patient. We forgot to take a photo because we were pretty hungry.

Yelp
I really liked everything about this place. The service was exceptional, from start to finish. The food was SO delicious!!! I'm not real experienced eating Vietnamese food, so took some pointers from a table mate. I thoroughly enjoyed my Bun Ga Nuong. The chicken wasn't dry at all. My cocktail was very good too. Would love to come back and try more menu items.

Yelp
I love the food and the service is always top tier!! The vibe inside the restaurant is so family oriented and I love coming here to get me the best food and vibes I need! I always recommend all my family and friends to visit Mai Lee when visiting STL!!!

Yelp
Mai Lee is one of my favorite St Louis restaurants! Literally every dish on their menu is 10/10 and the service is always incredible! For my fellow GF friends, their menu is clearly labeled making it easy! My favorite menu items: Do It Yourself Spring Rolls Pho Goi Cuon (#34) Ga Lui (#51) Bun Noodle Bowls Rau Muong Xao Toi (#158) Bo Xao Lan (#81)

Janet H.

Yelp
Food was delicious service superb! Waitress recommended the Bo Luc Lac #89 and it's my new favorite.
google avatar

Quyen H.

Yelp
My recent visit wasn't good as others. I was disappointed at how they served Com Dac Biet this time. Steamed egg cake was bad and meat was too dry -hard to swallow. Avocado smoothie wasn't good either. However, egg rolls and banh mi xiu mai were good. Service has been always good.
google avatar

Erika L.

Yelp
Love coming here for authentic Vietnamese food. They have the best banh mi and they have really delicious, hearty, generous Vietnamese plates and pho. They can get busy at times so I tend to go on weeknights to get seated with minimal wait! Prices reasonable, parking easy due to parking lot attached to it!
google avatar

Natalya R.

Yelp
I came here tonight to pick up my to-go order since I wanted Vietnamese food for dinner. This is one of the places in town I have yet to try. I ordered Cha Gio, Vietnamese iced coffee, and Com Dac Biet. Sidenote: I was looking up their menu online (on Yelp and Google), and to my surprise, when I was about to pay for my food, the total was so high that it was like doubled. The prices online needed to be corrected, leaving a wrong impression on me. Later on, further investigation into this price change shows that their main profile on Uber has the exact pricing and also from their main website. The price change surprised me since I had brought cash with the precise amount to pay. The food itself was overhyped, but the taste was okay. It smelled better than how it tasted...the rice platter. The Cha Gio was delicious, especially with the lettuce wrap and the fish oil *chef's kiss*, and the iced coffee was the same everywhere; nothing new to note about. I would say that in the near future, I will come back to this place and sit down to enjoy their food instead of ordering to go to see if there have been any changes to the food's taste and quality.

Yelp
Food: the noodle soups were perfectly seasoned and had a good amount of protein. We were surprised by the super big bahn bao. It was drier but still tasted good. Overall, great experience and my only complaint would be the portions being small for the price. Service: quick and attentive. Ambiance: plenty of seating in the open space

Yelp
If you want to see diversity come here lol. I've been to St. Louis a few times now and rarely run into any Asians lol. My bf had a craving for pho, I def was hesitant that we would find anything like the spots in SGV or OC. After searching and reading reviews on yelp I deciding to come here. This restaurant was a melting pot of races! The restaurant was packed with customers dining in and getting food to go. The pho broth was good def holds up to the ones in Cali. The only difference is the size lol way smaller. They do give a lot of protein though. It took a bit to order but we were served iced water right away and kept getting refills in a timely manner. We were checked on a few times too. So service was good. I'm glad we found a spot in St. Louis to satisfy our pho craving
google avatar

Danette D.

Yelp
Food was awesome! I had the Pho Tom (shrimp), it was plentiful, the broth was flavorful and the toppings were fresh. I couldn't leave St Louis without trying the Bo Luc Lac, which is seared steak bites served with sautéed onions on a bed of lettuce/tomato, a lemon butter sauce and a side of rice. Did I say tender??? Melts in your mouth and that sauce totally elevated the dish. It's not a huge space but the area looks really nice. The restaurant was very clean, good lighting and not much in decor from I saw... cozy feel. They offer a variety of Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. The first person I encountered was welcoming and my waiter well he was just there. He took my order, brought my food and basically that was it not much to say but overall it was worth the visit.

Yelp
Went to Mai Lee on a weekday for an early dinner. The service was sadly pretty poor (an Asian guy at the front desk was just sitting and scrolling on his phone even though he looked up and saw us standing there waiting to be seated; many tables were open). Eventually someone else had to come to seat us. Once we ordered the food though it came out quickly. We got the pho (medium rare beef) and item 142 (veggie curry lemongrass tofu). The beef pho broth was pretty good; it came with an extra lemon, hoisin sauce, cilantro, and bean sprouts you could add in. The noodles were a nice texture and soaked up the broth. The curry lemongrass tofu was ok but not amazing; it came with some vermicelli noodles on the bottom and a bowl of white rice. I found Mai Lee to be on the more expensive side even though the ambiance was very casual. I probably would not go back because of our negative experience with the front desk staff / especially with many other better (and less expensive) food options in STL.

Yelp
Mai Lee is hands down one of the best spots in St. Louis. The menu is huge and while I have my favorites, I have never been disappointed with any dish I have tried. My go to menu options are the spring rolls from the cold appetizers, we always get the pork and shrimp and the peanut sauce is delectable! The dumplings are another go to and we always get the crab Rangoon! Actually the crab Rangoon from here is my all time favorite in St. Louis. The perfect crunch with the perfect amount of sweet yet savory creaminess inside. My meal go to is #67. It's the noodle bowl with beef and peanuts. I always add all the toppings in and the sauce plus add some peanut sauce and chili paste for a little heat. I never leave with a drop left in the bowl! Service is always quick and efficient. A lot of times I'll walk up inside, order to go and have my entire order fresh to go in less than 10 mins. Depending on time of day that you go, you can see how busy they get but it's never too loud. I drive over 30 mins to get here and I wish they would put one out closer to my house, except I would eat it daily! So I guess I have to pick my battles!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place! This review is based on a Takeout Order (via Uber Eats) so I cannot speak about the service. I have had plenty of pho in my life and the broth was flavorless. It lacked the depth, richness you would expect from a pho. Why did I get charged almost $18 for 3 slices of rare beef and a bunch of over boiled rice noodles? I also got the grilled chicken spring roll and the chicken had barely any flavor either. I had to drench them in hoisin to actually make sense out of it. For the price I am paying, this ain't worth it. Maybe it might taste better in person but I will pass.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Loved the string bean beef and rice. Also the Avacado drink so delicious and creamy!

Yelp
I'm giving this place three stars solely because of the service -- the staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired. Our order felt rushed, and it ended up being wrong. The portions have noticeably shrunk since the last time we were here, especially the protein portions, which were very small. Speaking of prices, soda is about $4.50 -- but you'd never know it until the bill arrives, because it's not listed on the menu. Sadly I don't want to go back.

Yelp
This is a pretty big restaurant and it stays very busy, especially with carry out orders. Nevertheless, service kept pace. Mai Lee has a large menu of Vietnamese favorites. I had ba luc lac, and it was quite good. Reasonable prices for decent food in a convenient location.

Yelp
I don't think will ever go to another Chinese restaurant besides this one again...!! This cozy, yet spacious restaurant has a large menu with well over 100 items boasts a large variety of ethnic-based dishes. Our waiter Brian was nothing short of amazing! He was polite, attentive and eager to make sure we were taken care of. The food was beyond delicious! We ordered crab ragoon and won tons for an appetizer. Both were super fresh, crispy delicious. For entrees we ordered special egg fo young and sweet and sour chicken. You get white rice, but for an up-charge $5, you can get plain fried rice that has egg and green onion. The egg fo young was HUGE, crispy, full of meat and well seasoned. You could tell that it was freshly made. There will be a little wait for these because they make them fresh. The sweet and sour chicken was amazing as well! Huge pieces of chicken with fresh sautéed veggies. The fried rice was well seasoned, but light and not heavy as greasy like I'm used to having. The portions are LARGE! The next time we come, we will share a dish!!

Yelp
One of the greatest restaurants in Saint Lou. The food is awesome between Pho, Seafood dishes, Lamb, Beef, Poultry. The Curry is fantastic! The ambience is roomy, pleasant & cordial so all the customers feel like friends. I visit a couple times a week because the service is so professional, courteous and kind from one of my fav waitresses in the Lou - Lam! She has a great memory, she's able to handle multiple tables, orders 7 give excellent suggestions/recommendations. Lam is one of the main reasons I visit often because she can help me customize for my wife & I healthier entree, appetizer & pho selections. I always ask for her because she is very pleasant, very punctual & functional with professionalism who always priorities the customers!

Yelp
I love Chinese food, but have had a hard time finding a place in St. Louis to love. Mai Lee is a hidden gem because it serves a variety of Asian cuisine that includes some of the best Chinese food in the area. Their General Tso's chicken is fantastic and has a wonderful sweet and spicy sauce. Their pork egg rolls are outstanding and remind me of the "Chinese Wok" on Washington Street in downtown (I think it closed long ago). Tonight my wife and I went with a Vietnamese Soup bowl. I ordered the Beef Meatball/Steak soup and substituted egg noodles for the rice noodles. It was an excellent dish. The meatballs were cut into cubes and were dense and flavorful. They sort of reminded me of a dense meaty tofu. I really liked them. The meat in the dish was very tender and flavorful. My wife enjoyed her dish as well, she ordered the Meatball version of the dish and added chicken to it. Service here is friendly and competent, however, the food and drinks take a little bit longer than usual to come out, so be prepared for that. Inside ambiance is very open and "cafeteria-like", but the food is so good you shouldn't let that stop you from going here.
