We were greeted when we walked in. Sat down immediately. The food came out very hot. My mocktail wasn't the best, but after a few drops of simple syrup I was able to drink it. The bread and marinara was my favorite and I'm not a fan of marinara.

Loved our dinner at Maialina in Fountain Square. We came with a big group and our server worked so hard to keep everything running smoothly. Really appreciated how attentive she was. The atmosphere is super cute with low lighting and a cozy vibe. The cheesy garlic bread was unreal. Next time I’m just ordering a couple plates of that and calling it a win. I got the shrimp scampi and the shrimp were huge and flavorful. Also tried the ricotta bruschetta for the table and it was such a good mix of sweet and savory. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Today I went to Maialina Italian Kitchen and Bar. This was my first time going here, and I can honestly say that I was impressed. For my cocktail I ordered the Chilé Refresher. I was nervous to try it because of the chile infused vodka, but it turned out to be really good. It reminds me of putting tajin on my pineapple. A hint of spice that compliments the drink, rather than overpowering it. For my appetizer, I had the parmesan garlic toast. For the entree, I had the Bolognese topped with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Both were absolutely delicious! This was actually my first time trying gnocchi pasta, and I've got to say that I think this is my favorite pasta now! The texture is so satisfying to chew! 😋 I also ordered a slice of tiramisu to go. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it tastes great like everything else. My waitress Jennifer, was very attentive and accommodating. I'd give this place a 10 out of 10! I can't wait to go back!

My friend and I came for dinner last night and had the best experience. Sat at the bar and was served by a wonderful and attentive bartender. She gave us a quick wine lesson to help us decide which glass to try. We had the arugula salad, first time deterring from their Caesar salad. Both are excellent! We had meatballs for appetizer, and scrimp scampi for dinner! No crumbs left, everything was excellent and had an amazing experience!

Google
Visiting from out of state and picked this place at random based on Italian food and the neighborhood. Great place in a really cool, up and coming Beatnik neighborhood. We got there during the after work crowd time and took a table in the bar area. You could tell it was a favorite local place with a lot of returning customers. Wait staff was very casual; friendly, tattooed and dressed very casually but EXTREMELY attentive and helpful. Our waitress, Jennifer was awesome! Just the right amount of “chit chat” and service without being intrusive.

Pictures is shrimp fondue and my favorite the meatballs appetizer. 1/2 price bottles of wine! Must try if every in fountain square and they have space for private events.

It’s rare for everyone in my family to all order pasta at an Italian spot, but we did at Maialina! Really enjoyed our experience here overall, will happily return.

Google
We had this Italian restaurant on radar for way to long and finally went. Very nice setting and knew parking would be what it was in this area and no problems finding a spot. Very clean and modern setting, divided into two main areas. Was fun to learn about the site and prior establishment located here. Sorry, as talk about the food Mark. We started with Nona’s meatballs and order of the Shrimp Fondue. The meatballs tasty, moist and served with accompanying sauce spot on. The Shrimp Fondue was something I never expected and now want it again, again and again. Try it and hopefully that will make sense. Cacio E Pepe we ordered to share well served. The additional garlic added to original recipe and worked perfectly. The vodka rigatoni with option of spicy 🌶️ a great choice we made. My main course was the sausage and peepers, a meal I hold close lol and usually do not often order out for many reasons. Will say this version perfect prepared and enjoyed the take on this traditional plate. Our server was great. Highly recommend Maialina for a nice night out. We tried again this weekend and booked so think ahead if you can.

Yelp
A wedding reception to remember. Excellent food and excellent service. Especially want to shout out the bartendrixes, Jordan and Jeff. If you're ever in Detroit hit up Claire.

Yelp
Wonderful, wonderful food! My husband and I dined on a Sunday evening, expecting it to be slammed but were pleasantly surprised to find that we could be seated straightaway. The garlic bread is simple perfection, served in a star-like configuration with a sweet marinara for dipping in the center. The portions are truly generous, and the lasagna with the Parmesan béchamel sauce is one of the tallest of its kind I have seen, so huge that I will have leftovers for two to three additional meals. The Rigatoni Rustica, with its goat cheese cream sauce, sausage, and mushrooms, was quite tasty as well. It is rather dark inside, but it does not detract overmuch from the ambience, with lighted candles on the tables. Finding a parking spot will absolutely be dicey, and you will likely have to park blocks away and walk. Totally worth it though!

Yelp
Such a cute spot in Fountain Square. We came in with a big group and our server was working overtime. Seriously, she handled everything so gracefully and made sure we were all taken care of. The vibe inside is low lit and cozy, perfect for a dinner that feels a little elevated but still chill. Now onto the food. The cheesy garlic bread? To die for. Like I'm not kidding, I'll probably just get two orders of that next time and call it a day. I also had the shrimp scampi, which was solid. The shrimp were big, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Tried the ricotta bruschetta for the table and it was the perfect sweet and savory bite. I kept going back for another. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially if I'm craving that garlic bread again.

Yelp
Maialina, Maialina! This is probably the best Italian restaurant in Indy at the moment. It is a small, quiet storm in Fountain Square that is quaint, cute and the food is full of flavor. For staters, we ordered the cheese bread, marinara and the seafood fondue. The seafood fondue is to die for. You must get the fondue with the cheesy bread. It is rich in flavor with a bit of spice. You will certainly keep going back for more. We had the calamari which was lightly breaded and cooked just right, nice and tender. We also ordered the vegetarian and beef versions of the bolognese rigatoni. Both done beautifully. We ended the night with caps..the white russian was made to perfection, if you like a dessert cocktail. Parking is always available in the area and there wasn't a wait to get seated mid week, after work. I am sure this is a different story on the weekend regarding a wait. I experienced my first visit with co-workers but this would be a great place for date night, special occasion, family meetup or a casual visit with others or alone.
google avatar

Yelp
A dish so simple but so flavorful. The Cacio e pepe. I loved it so much I recreated it at home. The calamari was amazing I tried not to eat it all before the main course and my old fashioned packed a punch. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars because we did arrive a little later in the evening and sat at the bar but we felt a little rushed during our experience. Now that I'm writing this review I'm suddenly craving some Italian :).

Yelp
We wanted to try something different so we stopped in here. Couldn't have worked out better for us. It was a Sunday and I think one of the managers was tending bar and she was perfect. She made great recommendations and was entertaining without being over the top. Food was very solid And The Wine list was reasonably priced. We will definitely come back here and probably on a Sunday and hopefully have same bartender.

Yelp
As someone from the Boston area in Massachusetts, this Italian spot holds up. Amazing red sauce, slightly sweet but no heart burn, tastes fresh. Service kind and friendly able to provide suggestions, and the hostess was kind to our table of 6 as an uber was holding up a couple of the guys. Clean on the inside, and thriving. Felt at home. The food was amazing, you MUST get the tiramisu please save room for that it was the best I've ever had in my life and I will forever think about it.

Yelp
We were able to snag a last minute reservation at this home-y Italian restaurant in Fountain Square. Dimly lit, with a romantic feel, this place was perfect for a date night. Jordan was our waitress and she was very friendly and attentive. My date ordered the apple cider mule and raved about it! I tried their Caesar salad, which was prob in my top 5 Caesar's I've ever had. Very delicious. We ordered the chicken vodka rigatoni and the chicken parm and we savored both dishes. Note- the rigatoni was a bit Al dente, so if you're like me and prefer a softer bite, it may be worth mentioning. For a very affordable, authentic Italian dinner, add Maialina's to your list!

Yelp
I can't believe I have not reviewed Maialina yet!Maialina is in my frequent rotations for restaurants. They have a gluten free pasta that is incredible! I love to bring my kindle, sit at the bar, and order a drink and some food. Jordan the manager and bartender is fantastic. Their drink specials rotate seasonally, but Jordan's lemon drop martinis are absolutely delightful. The food is always served steaming hot and is portioned so that most people will have leftovers. I have never had a bad meal or drink here. My go to meals are the shrimp primavera with gluten free pasta or the rigatoni rustica with gluten free pasta. Located in Fountain Square with free street parking. There is a step up to get into the restaurant from outside.

Yelp
I've been waiting to try Maialina and it was fantastic! Our table tried: nonna's meatballs, Parmesan garlic bread, calamari, Caesar salad, arugula with lemon vinaigrette, rigatoni rustica, cacio e pepe, sausage pasta and salmon. All outstanding and delicious!!!! Entrees came out steaming hot! For dessert we had pistachio cheesecake and lemon torte with berries. We will be back again! If you want a quieter experience be sure to ask for the third room. First bar area is rather noisy, and the second area to me felt like a flurry of activity.

Yelp
We stopped in for devour and you definitely get your moneys worth that's for sure! So much food! The atmosphere is nice and the service was great. There's really nothing bad to say about this place, but there's also nothing really that stood out. I started with a dirty martini (w blue cheese stuffed olives) and while it wasn't a big issue I did find it odd that only one of my olives was stuffed with blue cheese. The food was all good, but the pasta dishes aren't anything you can't make at home - with maybe more flavor. It's a fun spot to come for drinks and apps or dinner with friends. We all split the devour appetizers among everyone (meatballs and bruschetta) and then got a side order of the shrimp fondue (SO GOOD!). I then got a Caesar salad and vodka pasta as my main. I wont order the vodka pasta again, not much flavor. We each got the different desserts - cannoli cake was so good.

Yelp
I'm leaving feeling good about Maialina. I scrolled yelp for the tea. I agree with the yelper who said the ravioli was rich, the flavor intense, but I love pesto, so I was good! I agree with the yelper who said the ingredients taste fresh, I actually tasted the spinach, which was nice. I disagree with the yelper who said there wasn't enough cheese inside the ravioli. Twas fine. Vibe is chill, casual, busy on a Saturday night. Felt like the regulars were in tonight, lending to the laidback feel. I will say the ricotta bruschetta is bigger than one may assume- slices of bread vs toasts, so bring a friend to share it with. Two word review: the expect leftovers.

Yelp
If you're looking for good Italian food with big portions, this is the place to go! I loved how Al dente the noodles were and each pasta dish we got was so flavorful and unique. We also got the calamari appetizer which was pretty good. Wish it was a little more crispy. The garlic Parmesan bread had the right amount of cheese and garlic. Loved the softness of the bread mixed with all creamy and melty cheese. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful as we were ordering. He also made sure to check in frequently with us. The vibes at the restaurant were perfect for a small group dinner.
google avatar

Shannen D.

Yelp
The food was not good. Service and atmosphere were both great. Spaghetti was over cooked and the sauce tasted like flavored tomato paste. The bruschetta topping was good but the. read wasn't toasted so it was just wet topping soaking into the bread so it was mushy. Server was great and the place has a good vibe. We had high hopes but sadly we won't be back.
google avatar

Taylor D.

Yelp
Absolutely love Maialina. It's a fav spot for us and we took my family here for my birthday. Drinks were excellent and so was the food. The bruschetta and cheese bread are delicious. I ordered an espresso martini, with pesto ravioli and it's heavenly. The atmosphere is dark and moody inside which is great for a date night.

Yelp
WOW I wish we would have tried this sooner! This is an amazing Italian restaurant right in Fountain Square. It's very casual and comfortable inside but the food is incredibly high quality. We ordered the bruschetta and it was so fresh and a great deal. I ordered the vodka pasta and it was amazing and had just enough spice. My fiancé ordered the gnocchi bolognese and said it was the best he has ever had! We also got the pistachio cheesecake to take to go & it was so light and refreshing compared to most cheesecakes! Our server was so sweet and brought everything out quickly. She gave great recommendations for our first visit!

Yelp
maialina is a fountain square gem! parking was easy to find on a sunday (early evening). it was a little loud in the restaurant but there were all types of people- casual, business, families etc. our server was attentive and knowledgeable. I am quite the gnocchi lover, so I ordered the bolognese- did not regret it... my coworkers all loved their entrees as well. we ordered 5 different desserts and tried all of them. my favorite was the pistachio cheesecake- to die for!! and i have enough food leftover for lunch tomorrow, which is a win. will definitely return.
google avatar

Yelp
I can't get enough of the vodka pasta. It's soooo good. I've tried other pastas and flatbreads and they are all wonderful too, but I always want to go back for that vodka pasta! Almost all of their dishes can be made with gluten free pasta or gluten free flatbread. I love the atmosphere here too. It's a cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant where you can just as easily meet up with friends and family, or enjoy date night. The servers are friendly and the bartenders are comfortable chatting with anyone.

Yelp
This was my first time dining at Maialina, and I've passed it countless times without realizing where the entrance was! After finding the side door, we were seated pretty quickly, and the server came over to take our drink order within five minutes. While he was pleasant enough, his service didn't really stand out--nothing to rave about, but no complaints either. We ordered his suggestion of a Cabernet Sauvignon, which was priced around $80. We also tried a few appetizers: artichokes, fig and sausage flatbread, and a basic Italian salad. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but the salad came out long after the other dishes and was missing the salami. I had to wait a bit before the server noticed and brought it over, but by then, the salad had already lost some of its appeal. The fig and sausage flatbread was a standout--really flavorful and enjoyable. The artichokes were good too, but the salad... well, it was a disappointment. The taste was subpar, and for the price, it certainly wasn't worth it. I wouldn't order it again, especially since it didn't even come out correctly in the first place. All in all, Maialina has some great menu items, but there are definitely some kinks in the service and execution. The delayed salad and underwhelming quality left me a bit disappointed. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd probably skip the salad next time.

Yelp
Took my Mother In-law here tonight for dinner. Made reservations well in advance. We started off with the Cheese Bread. It was delicious. We each got Caesar Salad and all said the dressing was a bit bite-y. Usually means lots of anchovy paste. Still good though. My dish Rigatoni Pasta with Sausage and Broccolini. It was just on the edge of too spicy for me even leaving off red pepper flakes. Husband got Chicken Parm and Potatoes. Potatoes were great. Didn't try the chicken but he said it was good. Mother In-law got Shrimp Primavera. It was a huge plate full. Her only complaint was the broccoli wasn't cooked enough. Dessert was Chocolate Layer Cake and Tiramisu. Husband loved the Chocolate Cake. I thought it was dry. Their Tiramisu I just need to stop trying. While tonight it wasn't gritty it had an off taste like cheese going bad. Not sure what kind of Mascarpone they use. Couldn't taste the coffee in the lady fingers at all. Also not as sweet as most Tiramisu I've typically had. Service was ok. Seemed slow at first. They do have other staff clearing dishes and filling drinks which does help the flow. They need a host stand. The table at the front door isn't tall enough and a stand would hide the menus and other stuff they had on top. It would also put the reservation tablet at a more comfortable position for the host to see.

Yelp
We were craving Italian and Maialina did not disappoint! We did their Devour Indy menu which was 4 courses of deliciousness. We had the bruschetta ricotta, garlic cheese bread, Caesar salad, vodka pasta, chicken parmesan, Torta della Nonna, and pistachio cheesecake. It was the perfect way to try a ton of dishes! Service was great - our server was very attentive and always made sure to give us enough time to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. Definitely will put this high on the list for Italian restaurants in Indy!
google avatar

Adiva A.

Yelp
This gem of a restaurant is a 10/10! Amazing Italian food in the heart of Fountain Square. I came with a friend for Devour Indy and we got a 4-course meal for only $45. Such a great deal, especially since the portion sizes were huge, I had enough leftovers for another meal! The service was great here, the food came out really fast and the vibes are exactly what you'd expect at a good Italian place. We started with the garlic Parmesan bread and the whipped ricotta bruschetta. Both were amazing in their own ways, but the ricotta bruschetta was very unique and was drizzled with this delicious honey. I was blown away from the start! The next course we had a choice of salad and I went with Cesar, can't go wrong with that. For the main entree I got the spicy rigatoni with chicken in their vodka sauce and I loved it! They topped it off with fresh Parmesan too. And then for dessert, this deserves a post of its own... BEST cheesecake I have ever had. Super creamy and I loved the caramel flavor. Maialina is so underrated, I can't wait to come back!!
google avatar

Amber E.

Yelp
I love Maialinas. They have the best Italian bread I think I've ever had. It's PERFECT, soft and moist on the inside and chewy and crunchy on the outside. If you go for nothing else but the ricotta bruschetta you're still in a good position. If you want more, you definitely won't be disappointed either. The meatballs are superbly seasoned and have great flavor. The chicken parm was tender, moist, crispy and topped with a robust tomato sauce and melty gooey cheese. The Cacio e Pepe is good but I wish the sauce would have been smoother. It was a little gritty. Still tasted decent though. Service was a little slow and we were the first people there so it wasn't busy. We knew what we wanted beforehand so we ordered right away but we were still there for almost an hour and 30 minutes. The appetizers came out quickly but we didn't get our main dishes until about 40 minutes later. I opted for dessert to go. Slow service aside. We will be back because the food is tasty!

Yelp
There was a wait time upon arrival , not a big deal since it was the weekend . As soon as we got inside 20min later server was quick to grab out drink orders. We went ahead and got all our appetizers , entree order since I know if we took longer with it been packed it was going to be a while for food to come out. Appetizer Calamari : Has definitely made it in my top 3 . The sauce was flavorful. I'm sure they make it there. Salad Arugula: best decision ever, it melted in my mouth the lemon vinaigrette was just a great touch . Caprese: taking a bite from everything on the plate running it through the presto and balsamic glaze just paired the tomatoe and mozzarella beautiful. Pasta Gamberi: just omg instantly my favorite dish . I was expecting it to be a big more spicy but then again I did ask for mild , shrimp was very well prepared, not rubbery. Pasta was al diente which is always a plus for me . I would order again but excited to try other dishes. Riagonti rustica: this dish was more spicy than anticipated but not a disappointment don't get me wrong. It was very delicious they weren't stingy on the sausage, my partner really enjoyed it .

Yelp
We got our food to go, but when I went inside to pick it up, I got to see the atmosphere inside. It had a really cool vibe - local neighborhood place with dim lighting and an upscale city type feel to it. The food however was not very good. We got the Parmesan garlic toast, Caesar salad, arugula salad, lasagna, and an order of meatballs. Parmesan garlic toast - tasted pretty good, but was overly greasy Caesar salad - pretty basic, nothing over the top Arugula salad - nothing noteworthy here Lasagna - this is where things really went off the rails. This was not good at all. There was literally no Italian seasonings in this dish at all, so it didn't taste like anything. The layers were not assembled correctly or consistently. There were some areas where 6 noodles were stacked up together with absolutely nothing in between them so the dish ended up being very noodley tasting. Most of the marinara sauce was only on top of the lasagna and not spread throughout the layers. The bechamel sauce on top was a total fail. You cannot call this a bechamel sauce - it tasted more like a poorly executed white gravy for biscuits. Meatballs - the meatballs were dense and also didn't have any Italian seasonings, so they were pretty plain. Would not come back next time we visit Indy.

Yelp
Found in the middle to Fountain Square, the area is rustic and carries a lot of character. Had the chance to try the devour menu. Started off either a Ricotta Brushcetta, a fantastically creamy cacio de Pepe with fresh shredded Parmesan cheese and finished off the meal with a refresheningly light Italian lemon cake. Service was fabulous, server was quite attentive and kind.

Yelp
I don't know why I hadn't been here before! Maialina is just amazing. The Caesar salad was so good (I couldn't even wait to take a picture) the bruschetta was incredible, the flavors were perfectly balanced, the honey and the ricotta just go very good together. The staff was very attentive, we had a great time and the vibe is very European, I really liked the decor. I am definitely coming back!!

Yelp
Food is good, a bit oily but flavorful. The drinks and service were top tier! Jordan and Stef took care of my party with 5 stars. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
First time here. Great data night spot. Cocktails really good as was the calamari. Service was awesome. My pics aren't any different from what already posted. We had the vongole, which I loved! Just right amount of spice. Husband has spaghetti and meatballs and practically licked the plate. Will return for sure.

Yelp
We had been wanting to try Maialina for awhile & meeting some friends for dinner on a Saturday night was a great excuse for my awesome wife & I to give it a go. Short review. Food is very good, prices are ok, service friendly and good aside from a slip up. Overall strong recommendation. Detailed review. Everyone had soft drinks except for myself. I had iced tea. I got a glass of ice & a half carafe of warm tea along with a few sugar packets. Refills were done at a timely pace except I could have used more ice & more sugar but that's a minor quibble. We had Nooma's meatballs for an appetizer. We all felt they were flavorful & cooked well. They come 3 to an order. Our friends split & my wife had her own Italian Chopped salad. They all agreed it was very good. I had the Ceasar salad with extra dressing. I enjoyed it very much but the dressing is very powerful so be aware ( I enjoy it that way). On the entrees our friends split an order of lasagna which they found very nice. My beautiful bride had the Cacio e Pepe which she found quite tasty & felt the flavors come together well. I had the chicken Parmesan with the spaghetti pomodoro. I found the breading very well done & the chicken tender. The mozzarella & marinara blended well with the chicken & breading. The spaghetti I found a bit bland & watery. Not bad just sort of blah. When we ordered I had asked for an order of the Parmesan garlic toast to come out with the meal. It didn't. When I finally got the waitress's attention that it was missing I got a quick I'm sorry I spaced it response. By the time they got it out to the table the meals had basically been eaten. No real remorse, we'll take it off the bill, etc. so that was a faux pas in my opinion but it happens. So again overall it was a good experience with good food & company. We would recommend Maialina's. Pro tip: Parking can be difficult to find in Fountain Square especially on a weekend night so plan to give yourself a time buffer if you have reservations.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Italian places in Indy. Located in the heart of Fountain Square, Maialina has some of the best Italian dishes. I had the cacio e pepe with chicken added (my husband has the same but with shrimp). We shared a side of the meatballs - those were also a favorite! On our other visits, we've also had the bolognese and the chicken parm (both delicious). Service was great and the ambiance was exactly what we needed on a Friday night.

Jessica M.

Yelp
My family and I were very much looking forward to dining at Maialina while in town for the weekend, especially as we were visiting my future in-laws for the Indy 500. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by an interaction with a bartender that left us all appalled and deeply disappointed. To start our evening, our group of six ordered martinis -- a mix of gin and vodka, some dry, some dirty. After waiting 45 minutes, only two drinks arrived. They were noticeably watered down and served in cocktail glasses rather than traditional martini glasses. Understanding that a larger drink order might take time, my future mother-in-law graciously cancelled her martini and opted for wine, assuming this would ease the pressure on the bar. Roughly 50 minutes after ordering, the remaining four martinis were finally brought out by our server, Jennifer, alongside the bartender. We anticipated an apology or some acknowledgment of the delay. Instead, we were shocked when the bartender stood at the end of our table and chose to scold us for our drink choices -- telling us that we should "never order martinis like that," referring to the variety in our orders. When my future mother-in-law understandably asked, "Are we being chastised for our drink order?" the bartender plainly responded, "Yes." Upon hearing that, we decided to leave -- to which the bartender responded "Good" and walked away. As someone who spent years in the service industry during both undergraduate and graduate school, I was truly stunned by the audacity and unprofessionalism of this exchange. No guest -- especially one who has waited patiently and remained courteous throughout -- should be reprimanded for placing an order, regardless of how challenging it may be to fulfill. The bartender's behavior was completely unacceptable and frankly, humiliating. To be fair, I want to acknowledge that the food we did receive was excellent, and we are grateful to Jennifer and the manager, Jordan, for their professionalism. They responded appropriately by comping our bill and cancelling the rest of our meal when we chose to leave. This review is not a reflection of their service -- they handled a difficult situation with grace. However, it's important that the restaurant understands the gravity of this interaction. A staff member choosing to abandon her post to berate a table of guests -- especially over something as trivial as drink complexity -- is simply inexcusable. It was an unfortunate and unnecessary end to what we had hoped would be a lovely family evening.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Honestly everything we ordered was delicious. I understand why this place is constantly busy. We were able to walk in early on Friday evening. Our server quickly gave us a rundown of the menu. We started with two appetizers. The bruschetta and the crab dip. Oh my gosh the bruschetta was delicious I knew it would be but it blew us away so fresh. The dip was out of this world. We were stuffed after ordering two appetizers. We both enjoyed our pastas and they reheated well. A perfect spot for date night.

Yelp
Best Italian food that we have ever had! I avoid most Italian places, especially Olive Garden, because I am always disappointed. This was SPOT ON! My chicken parmasean was absolutely stunning and it was crispy and delicious. My husband's shrimp carbonara was one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten in my life. Our server was excellent and on point with refills, and was quick with our requests.

Yelp
Met up with some friends for dinner and drinks. We ordered a few salads (Caesar and arugula). The Arugula salad was a bit over dressed for our friend but the flavor was good. The Caesar salad was a bit fishy but wasn't bad. We also ordered garlic bread and artichoke appetizers that are not pictured. The garlic bread was delish. The artichoke appetizer was a bit cold but had good flavor. On to the entrees, the lasagna was HUGE. Enough for two meals. Everyone at the table was in awe. The cacio de pepe (also not pictured) was creamy and had good pepper flavor. The chicken parm and spaghetti were solid if you enjoy a classic. The sausage that comes with broccolini was delightful. It had a bit of spice but it wasn't too overpowering. We also ordered desserts to go, the pistachio cheesecake and tiramisu. Great portion sizes on everything. The ambiance was a very noisy. I would not recommend bringing someone you want to have a conversation with. Our waitress seemed very rushed and barely let us give her our orders before she was running off again. It was okay since your table wanted to chat with each other but be prepared to wait a bit for your food.

Yelp
This place is so cute for a date night! The chicken parm is delicious and so is the ricotta honey bread. Service was friendly and quick. My only complaint is the bright lighting.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday with a few friends. It's in a nice location and was a great place to hang out with friends over dinner. For appetizers, we got the two different types of bruschetta. We all enjoyed the ricotta more than the pomodoro. Ricotta has a nice balance of flavors whereas the pomodoro being the classic bruschetta wasn't anything new. We got the ravioli, the shrimp primevera, and the vodka for entrees. The ravioli comes with a pesto sauce which is really nice but I thought that it can get a bit too much after a couple raviolis. Very filling dish for a smaller looking plate. The sizes of all the dishes were very decent. Shrimp primevera was done well also. The shrimp was cooked well and had a good ratio of the pasta, scrimp and veggies. The vodka was good too! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the sauce was nice. The girl serving us was sweet and charming. At the end, we got to pick a dessert on the house and our server brought it out with a candle on it! Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would go again if I get the chance!

Yelp
You won't be disappointed when at Maialina's The garlic cheese bread app is garlic heavy & so good. I enjoyed the pesto ravioli. Great , quick service on a busy Saturday night.

Yelp
What a great experience for some Italian food! My in laws were in town and love Italian. Based off Reddit recommendations we decided to give Maialina a try! Id recommend getting there early cause it is street parking and the later you wait the longer your walk might be to delicious food. We ordered garlic bread and calamari to start which was very good, almost wondered if I was going to have enough room for my actual dinner! I ordered the Rigatoni Rustica, it has sausage, mushrooms and a creamy sauce. It did have a little kick but was super filling and definitely had enough leftovers for two meals! The rest of my party ordered the spicy shrimp pasta, which looked delicious and exactly as described by the menu, cacio e pepe with sausage (this is what I'm ordering next time!) and lasagna! Everything came out looking delicious and was a huge portion so come hungry especially if you order starters or a salad. Even though only one of us finished our meal, we also ordered the cheesecake and nightly special of a mousse type cheesecake. Both were delicious but the cheesecake was definitely heavy and the mousse cheesecake was very light and easy to eat after all the heavy meal we just had. The interior is a little crowded but I didn't feel like we were too close to any other guests nor could I hear what the other tables were saying. Would recommend for a date night in fountain square, a friends night out, or a place to take out of town family! We weren't rushed by any means and had a lovely time!

Yelp
Honestly, the gluten free pasta is the best I've had in Indianapolis. I had a mushroom, sausage pasta and it was INCREDIBLE. The artichokes were insanely good too. We will 100% be back. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I've been here maybe once or twice before but it was just for apps and/or drinks. I returned for dinner and have not been able to stop thinking about it ever since lol. There was a nice cocktail selection to choose from, i think the rizz fizz was the one i liked best. Our server was pretty helpful and fast with the delivery of our apps and drinks and once she returned to take our food order, it came out pretty fast also. I order a spaghetti dish that had a cheesy sauce and added salmon and it was great...will definitely be returning specifically for that. Its a great spot to do a date or just dinner with friends, not too busy(although we did make a reservation). I highly recommend and can't wait to get back for more.

Yelp
There are a lot of Italian restaurants that are in or around the Indianapolis area but this place is a small cozy authentic Italian restaurant. The ambiance from lighting to background soft music was just extraordinary. The food, where do I begin. I've gone to a lot of Italian restaurants before but the freshness of the ingredients to the fresh pasta made was just delicious. Every dish that was ordered was finished. The amount of options for appetizers was great, it was just disappointing that they didn't have some type of fried mozzarella. But from the two types of bruschetta to the calamari just incredible. For dinner we all got a different type of pasta dish and each one I tell you was just Devine. Our server was extremely through when explaining the menu and made the experience. I highly recommend this Italian restaurant in Fountain Square. Be sure to make a reservation if you have a larger group like we did. We went for my birthday and had the best experience!! I will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Finally got to check off another one of my "want to go" places. It was very easy to make a reservation on open table. My husband and I arrived a little bit earlier than our reservation and was able to be seated right away on a Friday night. The free street parking everywhere was very convenient and helpful. My husband and I enjoyed both the parmesan garlic toast and the meatball appetizer. We didn't care too much for the bread that came with the meatball and both wish led we had saved some of our garlic bread for it. I really enjoyed the gnocchi and my husband enjoyed his ravioli. The portions were a lot bigger than it look and I had leftovers for the next day. The flavors were great and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was great and had our food come out at the perfect times without any wait between courses.

Yelp
The food was yummy and the service was even better. I was able to take advantage of the devour menu. The dining room was intimate. We sat at a high top. They also had lower table seating. Make sure to make reservations as it feels up quickly. You'll have to find parking as they don't have a parking lot. I had the ravioli/pesto. Arugula salad. The bread was super yummy. The chocolate cake was very rich. I was done after one bite.

Yelp
Food. Everything was fantastic. All portions are large. Lasagna was great with thick noodles. I would recommend getting without the white sauce as it was virtually tasteless. Parmesan cheese bread was very tasty. Gnocchi bolognese is meaty and saucy. Service. Average. Atmosphere. Not all that great. The acoustics are absolutely awful. Very loud and hard to have a conversation. No restrooms in the restaurant. Only restrooms available are common restrooms shared with anyone in the building or off the street. And those restrooms weren't all that clean. Good for an every night dinner but not the right vibe for a date or special occasion. Price. Fair for the portion sizes. Location. Perfectly situated on the square in Fountain Square.
