I stopped by this French-style pâtisserie during a weekday lunch hour, and it was quite busy. All the tables were occupied, though I was only there for takeaway. Parking isn’t available directly in front of the shop, but there are nearby public parking spots provided by the City of Mountain View, along with residential streets where you can usually find something if you’re patient.
Inside, the bakery has an impressive display of baked goods—classic Parisian-style pastries that are hard to resist. From macarons and artisanal loaves to savory pastries, Danishes, cakes, and desserts, the selection is extensive and tempting. It’s definitely the kind of place where decision-making becomes difficult if you love baked goods.
I ordered a ham-and-cheese croissant and a slice of Chocolate Royale—a layered pastry made with high-quality Belgian chocolate. It featured a chocolate sponge base, layered elements, a rich mousse, and a glossy finish. Absolutely excellent. In addition, I picked up a classic French ham-and-cheese baguette sandwich, which came with a small side salad, making it a complete meal.
Everything was packed carefully for takeaway. The baguette sandwich was very fresh, with a crisp crust and excellent-quality ham. The cheese had a slightly firm texture that added both structure and creaminess without being overpowering. The portion size was generous and quite filling, and the side salad of arugula and tomatoes added a nice, refreshing balance.
The Chocolate Royale lived up to expectations—rich, delicate, and well-balanced. While it’s clearly indulgent, the sweetness was perfectly measured, allowing the chocolate flavor to shine without being cloying. The croissant was also very good—buttery, flaky, and crisp—though it didn’t particularly stand out since I’ve had similar ones many times before.
Overall, the quality across the board was top-notch, with a wide variety of beautifully made pastries and savory items to choose from. If you enjoy French-style bakeries and refined desserts, this place is absolutely worth a visit.
