Calgary Is a Culinary Destination on the Rise

"Perched forty floors up with massive windows looking toward the Calgary Tower and the mountains, this pandemic-era opening quickly became the city's hottest reservation. At the bar, order the fan-favorite crispy "Major Tots" served with a smoked-sturgeon foam, and trust the team on a surprisingly tart strawberry Negroni while taking in the view." - Jennifer Malloy

The 38 Best Restaurants in Calgary, Canada | Eater

"This buzzworthy downtown restaurant, on the 40th floor of Stephen Avenue Place, hit pandemic hurdle after hurdle on the way to opening, and even sat completely empty for a full year before the doors finally swung open in 2021. It’s now the hardest reservation to get in town. Phenomenal views and a luxe dining room set the stage for chef Garrett Martin’s incredible food. Start off with the Major Tots (house-made tots topped with whipped smoked sturgeon and pickled onions) and Alberta beef tartare with black pepper sauce before diving into some plates of pasta and, of course, some A5 wagyu. Overall, great atmosphere albeit pretty loud ambience. The good was simple but elevated experience, my favourite was their endive salad. The chicken was good, crispy, tender but also over salted. Burger had a nice brisket with over-seasoned fries. We had a good experience overall, and the prices are very reasonable given the location and view and overall food quality and portions. Would definitely return!

Google
Fantastic drop in experience that surpassed all expectations. The food was delicious and filling. With the duck being a particular highlight. Rich, full of flavour without stripping the actual flavour of duck out and being tender while not void of texture. The entrees were delightfully flavourful and service was prompt, polite and attentive. We opted for a quick power lunch of two entrees and a main and left far more filled than we could have expected. I only had the peach old fashioned but if that was anything to go by I think any cocktail there is a good bet. The atmosphere was clean, cosy and luxurious. With decor within being art deco/ mid century and put together with such great attention to detail that you had as much a view inside as you did looking out the window. And goodness is the view from the window something to behold. No camera of mine would do it justice but seeing the Calgary skyline and mountains in the distance was spectacular for still being in the downtown area. Highly recommend the experience and if you get the stroke of luck I had. Seeing two peregrine falcons fly towards us and perch outside the window momentarily was an external factor but one that made it all the more memorable.

I’m visiting from the United States, and dining at Major Tom Restaurant has been one of the highlights of my trip to Calgary. This is truly one of the best steaks I’ve ever had — and that’s saying something! We ordered two salads, the gnocchi (which was rich and flavorful), a large porterhouse steak that was perfectly cooked, plus a few sides and desserts. Every single dish was outstanding. The quality, presentation, and flavors were top-notch. To top it all off, the restaurant has a stunning view of the city, which made the experience even more memorable. The service was excellent, and the overall vibe was refined yet welcoming. I will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in Calgary. If you’re looking for an incredible steakhouse experience, this place is a must-visit.

We had a three course meal and some shareables, as well as drinks. Both were on point. My wife had the cesar salad, duck breast and a dairy free desert. I had the beef tartare, icelandic cod and an afagatto. We shared the glazed pork belly and some truffle fries. It was probably the best meal we’ve had in years. Food, drink and service were flawless. I wish we could remember our waitresses name because she was amazing!

Major Tom is one of the more premium dining experiences available in Calgary. Located in a downtown highrise the views can't be beat; the ambience gives metropolitan vibe and the food and beverage offering reflect that. The service was top tier and our server kept a good check on us even tho they were perpetually busy. We were by for a quick drink and apps and got the tartare and a few other sides, all delicious and innovative. Major Tom is definitely a place to go and be impressive and be impressed. Recommend for first timers to specify when making a reso a window seat in case they can accommodate you. Finally, Fine Dining but make it cool! I'll be back next time I'm in town.

We have been excited to try Major Tom since they opened. Yes, the view is pretty impressive and the open space surprises you as you're in a building. We were told to get appies here over main dishes. Thus, we ordered the Major Tots, Oysters on the Half Shell, Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, Hokkaido Scallop Crudo, and Roasted Scallops. My wife had the Oysters on the Half Shell. She said they were fresh and delicious. The Major Tots were impressive. The potatoe-y goodness with crispy exterior was complimented by a cream swirl. While pricey, the tots were worth it. The Yellowfin Tuna Crudo was a fun dish. The crispy squares paired well with the refreshing citrusy yellowfin tuna. Despite a similar name, the Hokkaido Scallop Crudo was served differently. They were on shells with a light acidic touch. Finally, the Roasted Scallops were perfectly cooked. They need nothing else to elevate them. We finished the meal with a Chocolate Millefeuille. It was not too sweet and well-balanced. It was a good ending to a good meal. We highly recommend the appetizers. It's a great place to stop by and grab a bite.

What a view! Super friendly staff. My server Alex was professional and made me feel at home. Rich dark atmosphere. Oysters were fresh. Thank you to the kitchen staff for perfectly shucked and set oysters.

Major Tom absolutely knocked it out of the park for my 40th birthday celebration. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt elevated but not pretentious—warm, attentive service with the kind of polish you expect at the very top of Calgary’s dining scene. We started with a round of cocktails: the Major Tom Collins was crisp and refreshing, the Gin Martini had perfect balance, and the Bossa Nova was an inventive, almost transportive sip. Each drink set the stage for the evening—thoughtful, bold, and beautifully executed. For food, we went wide to experience as much of the menu as possible. The Crab & Shrimp Roll was fresh and delicate, a perfect bite with a hint of sweetness from the shellfish. The Major Tots lived up to their reputation—rich, crispy, indulgent, and completely unforgettable. The Tuna Crudo was a clean, bright counterpoint, while the Endive Waldorf Salad delivered crunch and tang with a sophisticated twist. Even the sides had star power: the Spaghetti was silky, savory, and deceptively simple, while the Grilled Broccolini with Chermoula brought a smoky depth that kept me going back for more. The crown jewel of the night, though, was the 18 oz Longhorn Striploin with Truffle Madeira Jus. Cooked to perfection, tender and richly flavored, it was the kind of steak you remember long after the last bite. Paired with the view from the 40th floor, it felt like dining at the very top of the city—literally and figuratively. What impressed me most was how everything came together seamlessly: the food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance. We even had our two young kids with us, and the staff could not have been kinder or more encouraging and accommodating—it turned what could have been stressful into something truly joyful. Major Tom isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Elegant without being stiff, indulgent without being overwhelming, and executed with remarkable consistency. I left full, grateful, and with memories I’ll carry for a lifetime. Highly recommend for any special occasion—or for anyone who just wants to experience the very best Calgary has to offer.

Yelp
Upscale and classy place that's perfect for an anniversary dinner or special occasion. I didn't have any issues like other reviewers had, my service and food were both exceptional! We were greeted and tended to all night with care, and every dish was plated nicely. Cheese toast: such a simple dish was elevated with a secret sauce and parm. So rich and buttery! Duck breast: this was cooked to perfection. Juicy and not overcooked or gamey, it had a flavourful crispy crust. The vegetables soaked up all the delicious jus. Baked Alaska: old fashion and a classic fancy dessert. I recommend to share it with another person because it's a big portion for one! Had a really lovely time and recommend that you make a reservation!

Yelp
First night in Calgary meeting up with great friends and this resto was our first stop My pictures are horrible and don't do this place any justice!! We were having such a great time and enjoy the food so much that I completely forgot to take a pic right away.. The ambiance is fabulous, it's at the highest point of the building with a beautiful scenic view of the Calgary tower and the city at night ! The food : 5+++++ amazing super tender I absolutely loved their waldorf salad We went for the icelandic cod and lamb just amazing and delicious winderful flavours completely recommend!! They kept being blue cheese olives I just loved thag the olives were stuffed with blue cheese mmm yummmy I even got the marsala mushrooms very good and flavourful Service .. 4/5 the hostess was extremely rude and we just didn't know whos name was on the reservation so it took us a minute to figure it out but she could have been more friendlier while she has us figure it out and not yell or trash us... otherwise our service inside the resto was phenomenal.. waitress was super caring friendly and quick everything was great except that hostess with major attitude problem!

Yelp
Swanky spot for the ambiance in Calgary with a gorgeous city view and tall windows. Loved the steak frites and the lobster rolls. The burger and fusilli were fine but don't need to get it again. Skip the salmon crudo.

Yelp
The views from this restaurant were gorgeous. The dim lights inside really set a luxurious vibe. The espresso martini was a great way to start off the night. The rigatoni was pretty good but I tried my friend's NY strip loin and felt like I wished I got that instead. The rigatoni was a lot of meat and not enough noodles for me. The flavor of the NY strip loin was the type to make your mouth water. If I ever go back I would definitely order that!

Yelp
Spectacular fine dining in downtown Calgary, seriously the only thing this place is missing is valet. Also oddly they don't have a phone line for whatever reason but you can text the number on the website and someone will respond to you. We started off with the potato doughnuts which were amazing, fluffy and decadent with the cheese. Next the yellowtail crudo was so well seasoned we wish we ordered a second serving. Then the entrees we both had steak - a5 Miyazaki strip loin and steak frites which was a flat iron cut. They arrived perfectly cooked, both tender even though they're different cuts. We also had a side of bearnaise sauce and broccolini. Finally dessert, thankfully we saved room because this place serves legit gourmet desserts. They are big enough to share between 2-3 people but we wanted to try the carrot cake and chocolate Mille feuille. They are both such a treat but I highly recommend the carrot cake as it was beautifully spiced, balanced with the frosting and sauce, and just so pretty to look at. We're not locals but we definitely hope to be in the area again soon to dine here next time!

Yelp
Not quite what I expected. This place came highly recommended from a friend. The highlights she mentioned were amazing view and great ambiance. The view hands down was exquisite. Ambiance I found to be just ok. The voices carried so even the waiter had a hard time hearing us if we didn't scream. Service was mediocre at best. Unfortunately our waiter seemed to disappear at times with major time gaps between check ins. The food was also mediocre at best. Items had either too much flavor or none at all. The fries were full of pepper truly like the kitchen messed up. The Ceasar salad was delicious but if you don't like capers make sure to ask them to hold them. The broccolini had the oddest taste again as though the kitchen used the wrong spice. Tasted so strange. The steaks were cooked nicely but lacked flavor. Overall an experience I don't need to have again.

Yelp
Celebrated my wife's birthday here yesterday. The ambiance is fantastic and the view is great. Unfortunately that's all there is. The food was a mixed bag with most dishes being not upto par. The only good items were the Potato doughnuts and the Icelandic cod. The beet salad was inedible and tasted disgusting. The french fries with garlic aioli were cold and soggy! Cavatelli pasta wasnt anything to write home about and was average. The baked alaska was decent but not to our liking as we've had better elsewhere. We didn't want to send back the food as we didnt want to ruin our night but we certainly didnt enjoy it and ended up wasting quite a lot that we had packed. Service was slow and the server was nowhere to be found to order food items and we had to wait too long for the check. Overall the experience was a downer and not worth the $200 we spent. Definitely doesn't deserve to be a Canada top 100 restaurant (and we've tried many on the list).

Yelp
An amazing experience! I actually came here back in the summer 2024. I'm just now writing a review as I feel I only ever come on Yelp to complain of the bad experiences. I need to post more of my positive experiences, and Major Tom was the first to come to mind. The customer service was top notch. The hostess and waitress were both lovely. The layout aesthetically pleasing. I ordered the crispy hen egg appetizer, and the garlic shrimp. The flavors were incredible. I don't even like shrimp very much, but based on the reviews, I decide to take a chance. I'm so glad I did. If I'm ever in Calgary again, I will most certainly eat here.

Yelp
Spectacular all around. The views 40 feet up are stunning of the city and we were sat right at the window. Our server Alex was one of our favorites we've ever had at any restaurant. Honest, informed about the menu, and super nice. The peach old fashioned was an incredible drink and we decided on splitting the butchers cut of the night, 32 oz porterhouse. The meat was cooked to perfection. Our night ended with dessert and the chocolate mille feullie was incredible. Such a special night!

Yelp
Cancel Major tom. I have been treated poorly on 2 separate visits. Tried to give them a second chance but this place thinks too highly about themselves that they treat solo customers extremely poorly. On my first visit I was completed ignored for over an hour after being seated. Didn't even offer me a drink or water. Second visit. I specifically made a reservation by the window a month in advance and because I was solo they seated me by the doorway with no view. As a paying customer that will spend hundreds of dollars for a meal for 1 this left a sour taste on each visit where I did not want spend my money there. And from now on I won't. Cancel Major tom. Its over priced pretentious and quite frankly a waste of time.

Yelp
I was in Calgary last week for the stampede and this restaurant was recommended by a bartender at another restaurant I dined in (although it was on my to-eat list). We arrived at 8pm and were told that there will be a two-hour wait. I didn't mind waiting because the restaurant is so beautiful! The view was gorgeous, overlooking Calgary from the 40th floor. Also, I never believed it when they say it was a long wait and there were plenty of tables unoccupied. Haha! We waited for 40 minutes and were told that we can be seated by the bar. I have no problem with that. Before I was seated, I wanted to quickly take a photo by the window but was shooed away by the server (he has a moustache) that his customers were on their way. To be honest, he was quite rude (considering this is a higher-end restaurant). Anyway, I took my photo and went to my seat. My server (Matt) was amazing! He's very attentive and patient with us. We recommended us the marsala mushroom to accompany our steak and he was right! It was soooooo good! We started off with some oysters (nothing special) and then the cheese toast (not bad). For our entrees, we had the New York Striploin (good but was a tad cold) and the rigatoni (nothing special). Once again, the marsala mushroom and potato puree were pure joy! We were too full to have desserts but I kept on looking at the table (remember the one I sat to take photos earlier). The couple kept on ordering hors d'oeuvres and they looked so good, so I consulted with my server and he suggested that I should try their crispy hen eggs and that did not disappoint! Tips: Get dressed up. Make a reservation (hopefully get seated by the window to enjoy the spectacular view). Order the marsala mushroom and crispy hen eggs! Their drinks were amazing too!

Yelp
My mom, my sister and I went for a nightcap after dinner to Major Tom's before we head back to the Fairmont where we were staying. We sat down and told Rachel, our server, that we were there for a drink. about a minute or two later the manager came out and told us that Rachel was uncomfortable serving us as we were too intoxicated. Wednesday had just come from dinner where my sister and I had 1 glass of wine each... and my mom (60) who doesn't drink had water. There was absolutely no way we could have presented as intoxicated. she clearly wasn't happy about not making a large tip on a large meal bill We obviously took our business elsewhere. Everything about this situation was handled so terribly, and so incredibly disrespectful.

Lynnette J.

Yelp
Major Tom had an incredible 40th story view and great food and service. The interior is well decorated and the view is panoramic. We walked in without a reservation for lunch on Friday and were seated by the window. We ordered pretty lightly but the tartare, tots, beet salad and pasta were all home runs. We'd definitely come back!

Yelp
Yep, ya definitely go! Park in the basement garage, it'll be $16 CAD dollars for two hours super convenient. 40th floor with amazing views and if you time the sunset right, you are in for a treat. We went at 4pm and made an OpenTable reservation. The 3pm - 5pm happy hour menu is great, and I get to sample the dishes that are popular. We had the MT burger and it's pretty solid, the patty was medium rare with a slight pink, superb. The cheese toast was a winner, I mean it's like an elevated Texas toast filled with some amazing garlic spread, that is melted into a gooey cheese sauce! The scotch egg with pepperoni jam is just a must, you won't find that just willy nilly. The pepperoni flavor is strong, I don't wanna say it but very similar to Torino's pizza rolls, which is not a bad thing in my opinion. I've had my share of those little frozen things in high school. The cocktails are so fun, I would have sat there and tried them all if I didn't have my five year old with me. We had a wonderful waitress, she was so friendly and everything came out quick. Enjoy and have a wonderful time friends! Cheers!

Yelp
Hard to find fault with Major Tom. Unfortunately we were socked in with smoke so we didn't get to enjoy the famous view, but the food, service and decor still managed to make it a memorable meal. We were a large group so we got to do some sharing, even from the vast and creative cocktail menu. We started with some appetizers, all excellent, especially the scallop crudo. I had the cheeseburger made from brisket. As good as it was, and it was excellent, my fries stole the show! Other entrees included steaks and pasta, all excellent. Prices are as expected for fine Calgary dining, however there are some lower priced items for those that want to budget the experience. Some appetizers are under $10 and the side size pastas, which my wife had, are under $20. Definitely will be back, a Calgary gem.

Yelp
The food was mind blowing . Fresh and tasty . The service was absolutely amazing thank you Jenna . So Drink , salads , half a bowel of pasta and dessert and tip around 75$ give or take . I would recommend this hands down

Yelp
I was luckily able to snag a reservation the same day on a Thursday. The place gets pretty busy, but service was top notch overall. Their drinks menu is quite extensive with a lot of their own creations. I ended up trying the All the Way Up (seemed appropriate for the setting). The drink was well made and it's made even nicer by the view. Tried the Major Tots and the Potato Doughnuts for the table and both were great. The Major Tots really had the smoked sturgeon flavour come through and it worked really well with the Tot itself. The French onion Custard was a revelation on the potato doughnuts that worked very well. The steak was cooked and seasoned really well. This place is definitely a must visit if you're in Calgary (reserve in advance as it does seem to get quite busy) both for the food and for the views.

Yelp
Overpriced lacklustre food with terrible service. My steak was ordered medium rare and was too tough to cut. Great view though.

Yelp
Food: The Caesar salad, potato puree were next level. The London Fog Verrine was delicious. The $70 steak i had was good, but not worth the price; there was quite a bit of "silver skin" and too much bone. Drink: The mocktail i had was great (Negroni), although it would be nice if they had a bit more selection. I'd guess they could make you just about anything you asked for though, as there was a lot of talent behind that bar. Ambience: Late 60s/early 70s gentlemen's club vibe, with an incredible view. Get a table near a window! The music was a little loud, but it's a happening place and i'm old, so... We dressed up, but there were plenty of people in jeans, so no one's going to look at you askance for your attire. Service: Saving the best for last, because this is where they stand out. Everyone, from the lovely young lady who welcomed us and escorted us to the elevator, to the hostess who greeted and seated us, to the bus people, were polite, personable, full of smiles, and happy to help with anything we needed or asked for. Now, to our server -- Barry. Barry knows what he's doing. He reads his table and immediately knows what kind of service they want. The table across from us were on an intimate date, so he was fast, discreet, and didn't stick around. My husband and i have been together for almost 30yrs; we came in from our farm for a rare date night and an even rarer splurge for a fancy meal. He was funny and generous with his time and attention. He made great suggestions and always came by at the exact moment we needed him. He even walked us to the elevator when we left. Barry's a gem. The staff alone is worth the price of our meal. Recommend.

Yelp
Went here on a weekday during working hours after trying to book a reservation on a weekend for weeks and then giving up! They only seem to have resos available before 3 pm and after 9 pm on most days. It was totally worth it though - the food and the views! Had the cheese toast, scallop crudo and crab/shrimp roll to start. Loved the crab/shrimp roll the most - the roll was buttery and the combo of crab and shrimp went really well together! The cheese toast was also yum and super easy to share as it was already cut in 4 pieces. Can't go wrong with cheesy anything really haha The scallop crudo was fresh and worth a try too. For the main we got steak and frites along with the tomato salad. The steak was medium which was perfect and the fries were perfectly spiced - loved it! The tomato salad was good too but is a large portion so watch out. Overall, loved the meal overall and the view from the 40th floor of the building. Parking is a bit hard to find so beware but it's downtown Calgary after all so give yourself a bit more time to get here or take the train which is conveniently steps outside the restaurant. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We stopped by for an afternoon snack to enjoy while overlooking downtown Calgary. We enjoyed: - potato doughnuts: light, pillowy clouds that were the perfect combination of sweet and acidic - citrus salad: burst of flavor Would recommend!

Yelp
We came here for our wedding anniversary. We didn't know what to expect, other than we wanted a restaurant with a view. The service was outstanding, we arrived early and they were able to accommodate us. We started the night off with a few cocktails, and some snacks. Only to realize the sunset would be absolutely gorgeous, so then ordered a bottle of wine and some dessert. Such a fun stop.

Yelp
Service was phenomenal. Waiter knew all the drinks extremely well and made great recommendations. Food was solid as well. Burger was cooked perfectly! And for dessert get the baked Alaska

Yelp
Major Tom made it to the minors... Sorry guys, it needs to be said. For the prices you charge and being claimed one of the top new restaurants, we had a salty experience. I will give credit where it is due. The ambiance, the view, the service all wonderful but there is a big but... I have never had so much salt in my food in all my life. It was mainly in the sauces. The potato donut good, but the sauce on top; good lord. Asparagus: perfect. Cheese toast: outstanding. Crispy chicken: to die for. The lamb excellent but the potato is way too salty. Burger good but sauce was salty and for $29, come on. The Pièce de résistance was the broccoli and cheese.. it made you close your eyes and pucker your lips just to swallow it. Of, course we quietly mention something and they graciously compt us desserts, which were all very good. My tongue hurt from all the salt. I hope the chef will take note. I can't say we would be back due to this experience. It just cost too much to have a bad food experience. T

Yelp
Great place to hang out overlooking Calgary city lights! Upscale without being uptight.

Yelp
OMG what a great experience. Nice views of the city and perfect cocktails and bar bites. Do not miss the lobster rolls and the major tots. Beet salad was really good.

Yelp
Sunday at 545pm, we finally made it here after a 3mo wait! The views are spectacular in this non- pretentious, casual fine dining atmosphere. No fancy chandeliers, bouquets or centrepieces. The staff are extremely courteous, helpful and sincere. As soon as we entered the building, we were guided to the elevator upon entrance and exit. As soon as we made it to the 40th floor, we checked in and seated immediately. Our waiter was friendly, professional, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and was careful to take notes about my dairy issue. We both ordered house sodas. Hubby had the grapefruit which was certainly sour enough to pucker 2 while I tried the blueberry basil. The basil was a bit strong for him but I enjoyed it. His soda was too tangy for me to drink an entire glass so we both got what we wanted. We began with the crispy hen egg. Good but the pepperoni jam was a tad sweet. I'd have preferred a bit of heat instead. Cheese toast was for hubby which he said was incredible and he ate the entire thing! I had a lobster shrimp roll which was really fresh and tasty and had no mayo - just pure butter dipped bliss I scared that baby down in 6 bites! Next up was the crispy pork belly. Best item yet! This is listed as a side but it was juicy, smoky, salty with the right amount of crunchiness and cracked pepper on top. For mains, I had the lamb with eggplant purée and carrots. I ate the entire thing after the appies! My hubby was like- when did you grow a hollow leg cuz I'm not carrying you back to the car He had the MT burger which was enormous! He ate half and brought home the rest along with one piece of pork belly for our son. His only complaint is he would have asked for half sauce or sauce on the side as that detracted from his enjoyment of the meat which was cooked medium rare to medium. The fries were also delicious with a dusting of peppery Cajun pork rub spice. That sounds bizarre but best description I can attribute to it. Overall this was a fantastic experience for us and would certainly go again. Our bill was $140. excluding taxes and tip. Give this a try if you want a high quality meal. Be warned that other Yelpers have said the steak and pastas aren't great. Stick with appies, sides and mains. Happy dining everyone!!!

Yelp
I ordered a old fashioned and the waiter actually sprayed something onto my drink when doing the "fire show"

Yelp
The atmosphere is great for date night you feel like you are going to the Calgary tower so don't underdress. A majority were wearing suits and dresses very high end lounge. Service was great. Views are great at night. The food was great except the gnocci and baked Alaska don't order it The gnocchi was mushy no sear or texture to the gnocchi and the sauce just didn't go well. It was 2/10 one of the worse gnocchi I've had. The gnocchis I love is the seafood gnocchi from embarcederos and the gnocchi from Cucina. I've never had a baked Alaska before but will never have it again because the alcohol was strong the cake was dense and the filling was just not a dessert I would want to eat. However! The BOMB MUST TRY is: Lobster rolls the best I've had in Calgary you can taste the lobster and some aioli sauce inside is delicious!!! Order 5 of this if you must Tuna cru is fancy and melt In your mouth good with a refreshing green sauce that doesn't over powering the fish Waldorf salad if you love blue cheese which I do ! The duck perfectly cooked with delicious and perfectly seasoned cauliflower The a5 wagyu meh order small because you will get sick of it because of how fatty it is but that's normal.

Yelp
Wow. I was very impressed from the prompt ground floor service up to the top shelf bar view, bartenders, servers, views, you name it this place did not disappoint. We are not from the area and wanted to spend our last night/pre-12 year anniversary somewhere special. I'm so glad this was the place we celebrated and will definitely come back to time and time again with more friends to share this experience alongside us. We had the Paloma and Toreador Tequila Cocktails to start and shared the 1/2 rigatoni and crispy half chicken. Wished we had room for dessert but that was perfect! Cheers to all the staff. Great job!

Yelp
Food was exquisite so tasty reminded me of a Michelin star restaurant. The service was exceptional and Tasha was amazing she treated us amazing and was extremely funny and made us laugh the whole time. Love it when a sever makes me smile. Thanks again :)

Yelp
Fabulous prime rib and lamb main courses. Appetizers and French fries were also delicious. Wonderful atmosphere- overlooks the city of Calgary. We watched a rain storm come in. Service was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
The food is over priced. The service wasn't reflective of high end. After asking to speak with management they ultimately shifted blame of our poor experience on to us. At the end of it all we traded $400+ to dine at a "high end restaurant with sweeping views" not once receiving the high end nor sweeping views aspect. This was an awful experience. We did everything expected of us; made a reservation and came well dressed in the appropriate attire only to feel like an after thought. We were put at a table in the corner of the restaurant with no windows. Reading the reviews online: this table is problematic. So it's surprising that everyone was so taken aback by our unsatisfactory experience. At the end of it all we feel our money would have been better spent ANYWHERE else considering. We wanted a memorable experience and got something mediocre. Your hard earned money can be better spent elsewhere

Yelp
. I booked this a few month ago for birthday date night and here's what we thought: We got: 1) house sodas, because we were hungover. We got a blackberry basil and a grapefruit camomile. These were different and taste exactly like the flavor. (5$ each) . 2) Hen egg - good but tasted too much like brunch. I would get this lunch time and pass for dinner. One bite each. (7$ for 2-as pictured) . 3) Steak Tartare - this was one of our faves and we decided we'd come back for this. The flavors were good, portion was a bit small, but very fresh. Would get again. (21$) . 4) Caesar Salad - classic and tasty the hot bacon and cheese, as well as capers made it delicious for me. There were a few salads and I think I'd go for another, but this was still tasty. (17$) . 5)Steak Frites (Babette) - this was the biggest disappointment. It was tiny, not flavorful and what I was most excited to try since it was hyped and the server said they were known for steak, even this "cheaper" one. The fries were diner style and so not worth it. I would 100% pass on this and walk over to the Keg for a steak instead. (34$) . 6) Cacio e Pepe with maple glazed pork belly - the pasta itself was fresh and tasty, but pretty basic. The pork belly (3pieces - picture was a fail) was tender and delicious. The server recommended the pasta with pork belly. This was a good recommendation but rang in at 33$ (21$ pasta & 12$ pork belly), so I'd rather go to an Italian place for this too. Pork belly was tasty though. I will give them that. . Overall: 7/10 would recommend. The restaurant is lovely and modern, but quite loud due to open concept. Unfortunately we weren't book at a window view. Thought we'd get that having booked 3 months out, but it is what it is. The service was good, knowledgeable but not personable. They did bring a card signed by staff for birthday, but no dessert or special treatment. This always goes a long way for me... especially having worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years prior to my career. Why can't you just comp a cake or make someone feel special?? . Atmosphere & decor are gorgeous. Request a window seat! Too hyped overall, but still a nice date spot, but get that window spot and book in advance.

Yelp
Pretty overrated if you ask me. So much hype about the view. Best to go when sun is setting otherwise sun is right in your face if they give a terrible table

Yelp
We came to Major Tom for a late lunch and we really enjoyed it. Service was excellent, you cannot beat the views from 40 floors up. The food was excellent. We tried the Steak Frites and the New York Strip with creamy potatoes purée.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience. From the moment that we arrived at the elevator until we left the building, all of the staff was warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and creative and the drinks were perfectly balanced. We can't wait to be back in the city so that we can come back!

Yelp
This restaurant has an incredible view of Calgary. The ambiance is top notch. Tables are perfectly set apart for privacy, beautiful decor, music and art. The menu is large enough to appease all tastes. Service was great, manager came by to check on us. We had a wonderful experience here. Would recommend and return!

Yelp
Completely underwheming. The view is nice and service is ok. The food is bad. Just bad. Wine list is amateur. I get the city needs to make a profit and things are a struggle but why be so blatant that I am being hustled over crap wine and poor cuts of meat... ugh

Yelp
The Cavatelli is a must! I'd recommend the full order, because it's just so good you don't want it to end! Old fashioned lovers, this is your spot, but with their extensive list of cocktails, anyone can find anything to love. Having a view of the city isn't half bad either. And service is amazing. Overall great experience.

Yelp
Came here for drinks with some colleagues and the ambience and service were incredible! A lovely and vibrant setting with a beautiful view. Our server was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and suggested some great cocktails. A perspective spot to bring colleagues or clients.

Yelp
Slightly elevated bar food. The $128+ 'Butchers Cut' was almost cold. Good flavor, but I would take Mercato West's Bisteka any day-- and not have to pay as much. The Cavatelli in brown butter was frankly the best dish we ordered. Everything else was forgettable. The coffee jam that you're suppose to spread on toast with foie gras overpowered the foie. The cauliflower was ok. The lobster thermidor looked depressing (ever hear of plating?) who puts a lobster half on a napkin on a plate?!? Seared scallops were basically plopped on a plate, slightly overdone. Overall, you're basically paying for the view. Not coming back if you paid me.

Yelp
Sunday, February 12, 2023 ~ 17:00hrs - We stopped in for a cocktail, appetizer and to take in the 'word-of-mouth' spectacle view. The view was incredible. Our server, Colin S. was excellent & professional ... However, two of his fellow co-workers were not. The first server, Michelle, showed up at our table, interrupted our conversation, and reached across the table with no explanation of what she was doing. I thanked her for lighting the candle and she responded with a "Yep." Later on she threw our appetizer on the table without saying anything. This was followed by us wanting to buy a gift card from the the 40th floor doorman (wearing a fedora)... who was also pompous and arrogant. There are so many restaurants to choose from in YYC. Bad manors and terrible hospitality need not be tolerated. Sorry Major Tom ... David Bowie would give you a F mark and so do we.
