I scheduled an appointment early and was told to sit down and I waited about 5 minutes another client walked in and they immediately took care of her. I was then told to just wait a minute after about 10 mins I was then helped and finally able to pick my nail color out. They rushed through my dip powder manicure and it was very lumpy and I get square shape all the time and they barely shaped it well. I won’t be going back but there was a few other nail techs that was good before but this one was very quick and careless. I also requested a manicure as well and did not receive it. The tech seemed annoyed. I have gotten my nails done a few times there and they usually do a good job but this was very tacky.

The interior of the place was nice & so was the man that had asked us if we had an appointment. The ladies who attended me and my boyfriend were also pretty nice too. On the negative side, I felt as if they were rushing the manicure. She didn’t really file my nails properly, nor paint them (she missed a few spots on one of my nails), & while I was getting the pedicure, the paint already started chipping. I’m aware that I chose regular polish instead of gel, but ive gotten regular polish before & it does not come off as quick as it did. The pedicure was a nice experience. Me & my boyfriend both got the athletes foot pedicure. They didn’t include the soak which made me a little upset since I did pay extra for it. The lady doing my boyfriends pedicure was being a bit aggressive while clipping his toenails which made his experience pretty unenjoyable for the most part. The regular polish on my toenails was already chipping off too. I ended up completely taking off my nail polish 2 days after due to it chipping & had to fix the polish on my toenails. For $155, I was overall not completely unsatisfied, but I wouldn’t come back. I expected a better service.

This place is horrible they did not give me what I asked for, they were super racist they had me pay first before getting the service done (i’m black) and they didn’t do that for the white people there so as a person of color i suggest you stay far away from this place and they don’t care about us they forgot about me and had me waiting for hours and they were very rude and it didn’t feel welcoming at all. they came out horrrible this is how they were when I left the place. I also asked for acrylics mind you.

I am not going to lie, I have been to a few places surrounding this area to get my nails done, but not one has been as great as this place. Typically, when I get a gel manicure they always chip the next day. Not sure why that is, but it's been like two weeks now and still no chip. Definitely going back here and spreading the word around on how great they are. The lady who did my nails was so kind and I was able to relax. I walked out of here feeling great about my nails. Absolutely love the turn out!

I feel like they rushed so much. My pedicure wasn’t that bad but my nails! Horrendous! I asked for the same thing I had which was acrylic with gel nail polish. She completely ignored that I wanted the acrylic. She didn’t buff my nails so they were uneven and now the gel is coming off and it hasn’t even been a week. Definitely not going back.

Ive been a regular customer at MAK Nail Bar for the past year and this is my go-to place. I always have an incredible experience here, as this nail salon is definitely the best in Berks County. They are appointment only and very efficient. I usually get gel manicures and regular/gel pedicures. The nail techs always do an exceptional job on both. I highly recommend!!

Disappointing experience. I came for a mani-pedi with a friend on Saturday, November 18th. The woman that did my nails seemed disinterested in servicing me. Constantly looking away while filing or painting. My right index finger chipped by Thursday, November 23rd, but I noticed cracks in my nails prior to then. The last two pictures are from Sunday, November 26th. Multiple (if not all) nails are peeling/chipping even though I deliberately paid for gel so that they would last longer. She left a pretty large gap when painting my right thumb which made the manicure look like it’s grown out after only a couple days. I was only visiting so I was unable to return to ask for my nails to be fixed. I gave two stars because they did a great job of accommodating my friend and I, making sure we sat next to each other for both of our services even though we didn’t have an appointment.

I went on a Wednesday evening. Walk-ins were accepted with little to no wait. They did a nice job on my daughter's nails and my pedicure. I would highly recommend💕

I often go here for my nails and they always look so good, but especially for prom. I got a French tip dip with extensions and he did an amazing job! Best nails I have ever had.

Worst pedicure I've ever had. Service not like luxurious online description. Technician would start to apply scrub to legs, then stop to turn & shout conversation to coworkers across room, then start again, then stop & shout some more. This went on entire service with her resuming skipping steps or cutting them short. Nothing like paying her to yup it up while my feet sit bored in tempid water. Service not relaxing, actually irritating, if you can imagine what a massage feels like if someone continually stops & starts. (I can recruit my husband if I want that kind of distracted effort.) I can also paint my toes- I'm paying to have relaxing, pampered, experience, not feel like an intruder ease dropping in someone's living room. The setting was not spa like. Dark, like they didn't want to pay to turn a light on. Final straw, clerk at desk rang me up & I see my technician bee line to register. She's leaning over counter watching my credit card go into reader like a petulant child would hang over the register in line at the grocery store. It made me extremely uncomfortable the way it would if someone did so in line at ATM. She wanted to witness me inputting the tip. Rude! Grow up! I regret the 20% based on her obnoxious invasion of my transaction alone. You want a big tip, maybe quit phoning it in-everything was more theatrics than service! "Pretending" to file feet bottoms, pretending to give a massage. Toes never dried & were ruined by time I got home. Also got call 2 hours before appt. asking to push time out by an hour despite booking a month in advance. Sorry, this place may be organic, but isn't' classy enough for me. I can be empathetic toward a language barrier & cultural differences, not rude, inattentive, childish behavior.

The first time I came here it was great! I just left and my nails look pretty bad.. they're all different shapes and lengths. I tried to explain I wasn't happy but I'm not sure she understood, although she was very nice. I'm just going to go back to the other salon I used to use and have them fix it. I think it's based on who you get to do them here.

I called ahead of time to ask if there was a wait. I was told to come right over. I showed up within 3' minutes. I waited for over 20 minutes and had to leave to pick up my kids. The reason I called is so I could get the pedicure done (& would have gone somewhere else).

I am EXTREMELY picky about my nails. This is the only salon I will go to! Since my last review, I have moved out of the area but I still make the drive to get my nails done at Mak. This past time I got a dip manicure by Alex!!

Nothing like being told you will not be accepted as a customer again and not to come back after spending $136! 3 pedicures (which were fine) one gel polish and one "manicure ". Description of BASIC ad states: MAK's Basic Manicure: This is your-very-basic manicure includes vanilla lemon soak, lower arms, and hands massage with lavender mint lotion. $20. My husband's mani did not even come close to this description and they KNOW it. Called and asked for refund of $20. ARGUED with me on the phone then told me to come back next day to talk to manager and get $20. My time is more valuable then running back to argue with manager and after being told don't come back for any service!?!!! Keep you $20!!!!

Terrible experience. I recently moved into town and have been looking for a nail saloon. Tried MAK for the first time and had the worst time. Had a gel manicure. They didn't have color variety. The nail tech was so rough with my nails, that I had to ask her to be a little more gentle, and she responded with: " I haven't even touched you". Also she kept putting my hands in weird and uncomfortable positions to be able to work, I kept looking to the other nail techs and no one else did that. When it was time to apply the gel, she applied it in a weird way, putting gel coats on the first nail but not the same on the other nails. She kept going back and forth from nail to nail several times before putting the hand in the lamp to dry. Again, I looked at other nail techs work and she was the only one doing it this way. After she was done, one of the nails had a bubble which I asked her to fix, and she kept coating the nail and now I have so many coats that it looks like a fake nail. This was the worst experience I have ever had and I wouldn't recommend this place. If anyone from the Wyomissing/Reading area has any nail saloon rexommedations please let me know.

Liz did my dip powder nails and did an absolutely beautiful job. She was so friendly and caring and I noticed she paid very close attention to detail, making sure my nails were perfect. I am really happy with the outcome and was thoroughly impressed with the entire service. They have literally done everything to make sure this is a pleasant experience for their customers. And the salon is very clean too! While I sat with tin foil and gloves on my hands for 10 min waiting for my old dip polish to come off, I was given a stylus so that I could still use my phone. They also offered me homemade teas, wine, and mimosa to drink. Amazing experience and thank you!

Mak consistently does great work - I came in for a dip powder service and my nail tech spent over an hour on my nails, making sure my cuticles were clean and that I left feeling completely satisfied. Mak is also the cleanest salon in the area - I've tried other places in Wyomissing and I always keep coming back. So sad to be moving out of the area - finding a great nail salon can be tough!

Excellent! Very clean, pleasant employees, great work. I've been looking for a place to get my nails done in the area for a while. It's hard these days to find a salon that is clean, kind, and does a great job. I'm very happy with MAK nail bar. I'll definitely return.

Today was disappointing. They clearly were overbooked. I was told they had an opening at 4:00, but waited until 4:30 until I was started. Fine, I understand being busy. When I was started however, the nail tech cut me. Ugh! Is there anything worse than being snipped during a pedicure? Needless to say the rest of the time was not relaxing at all. I really believe that the tech was nervous and inexperienced. She rushed through the whole thing and laughed about cutting me. I'd rather be told that there was no availability then being fit in and rushed through. Not a quality pedicure at all.

my appointment made over a week in advance got bumped based on poor booking habits on their end! utter disappointment and what a mess before a vacation for me! I have been a decent customer, and this is how you treat a pre booked appointment? never again.

My absolute favorite nail salon, they do an excellent seasonal pedicure - new scents for each season - which I absolutely love. I usually get gel manicures and they always have the new colors to choose from (OPI, my favorite brand) and the service is always amazing! My favorite thing of it all is that the gel nail polish actually lasts for a long time (about 3 week or more if you don't pick it off like I do lol) every other nail salon where I have received gel manicure never last more than a week, until I started going to MAK! They care about their customers and if you are satisfied they really work to fix the problem! I Love how my nails and toe nails look and feel after getting my nails done here, simply incredible! Great salon, great services, my Go To nail salon from now on!

my nails chipped the DAY AFTER i got them done... i would not recommend this place. quality is not good.

I needed to reschedule an appointment a half hour later due to traffic the day before a wedding and the girl was rude and insisted she couldn't get me in any time later that day.

I just got a seasonal manicure and a pedicure with my mom and we are both incredibly happy. My mother never gets manis and pedis because she's self conscious of her nails, but her technician was absolutely fantastic. They have plexi dividers between pedicure stands and between the manicurist and the customer. The seasonal manicure was definitely worth it, I got to choose my scrub scent and my arms feel smooth and moisturized!

A friend is scheduled for a nail appointment , and I wanted to pay for her services as a surprise. I was told, not entirely politely, that that could not be done over the phone. Strange in 2022. No other options were given.

I always love the way my nails look after I leave! They were able to put me in for an appointment the same day I called and I could not be more pleased with my experience every time I come in! My nails look perfect just in time for Valentine's Day!

This is a very clean and friendly location! Today was my first time visiting and it was absolutely a great experience! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! I made an appointment to come try it here for a pedicure and it was well worth it. She took her time and didn't rush anything and even made time to squeeze me in for a standard manicure before her next appointment! And the prices are reasonable. I will definitely be returning ! Perhaps as a new loyal customer :)

My wife has been going to MAK Nail bar for years. Today was a horrible experience. They woman doing her nails today was combative and didn't want to listen to what she wanted done. She also did not follow all of the steps for a usual French manicure. They had her sitting in a pedicure chair for the manicure so she wasn't able to relax and enjoy herself. We shall see if she ventures back to MAK nail bar next time she goes for a manicure.

I went today to this bad salon I had a gift card 45$ I asked the girl on register I don't wanna pay any extra money she told yes ok , i asked her even if i make gail polish she said yes , when i'm done minc and padic this girl told me that I should pay 27$ an extra i told her you didn't tell me that, she said yes i told you even she didn't let me see the manager she said let me see the manager inside when she come back she told me i'm a manager , and i paid extra 27 $ because she told me pay or i call the police!!!!!!! she's laying bad service and so expensive i do wanna back a gain! very unprofessional response. I would really wish people know you and the bad customer service you provide. I am sure the response you provided just assembles the way you treat your customers. I regret coming to this place, and spending my time and money, very poor management and customer service. I hope all people saw how you talked to me because you are laying ( she told me go ahead you can't pay extra money even if you put a gel then she took 27$ extra) and I paid 10$ tips. I will talk to all people about the Salon and how you let me payed 80$ for bad service and bad manager. all people be careful please!!!!!

I came on a busy Friday night for a last minute manicure before a wedding, and they managed to fit me into their schedule, which I really appreciated! I got the basic gel manicure, and was really happy with the results. I know that the lotion they used was an organic brand, but the chemical smell was still in the air. Most people are upset by this because they advertise as an organic, no smell salon, but the reality is, the gel and other polishes may not come in an organic brand, which means you won't be able to entirely avoid the chemical smells. If you really value using organic products, my advice is to just ask which polishes are organic so you can make an informed decision :) Overall a great experience.

I have tried to get my nails done here twice. All of your information indicated you take walk in's. So after work one day I walked in to be told there was no appointments available that day or the next 5 days for that matter. Please don't advertise you do walk in's when you only take appointments. Slightly frustrated, I got my nails done somewhere else. I decided to try again because of how close they were to work and their rating here on Yelp. I tried to make an appointment and was told that they could not go my nails because they don't touch anything with chemicals on it. I asked if they could remove my tips and put the organic stuff on and I was told I had to get them removed by someone else or remove them myself before I could make an appointment with them. I understand this is an "organic spa" but for someone who has been trying to use your services to be told you cant help me unless I go somewhere else first....Ill just go somewhere else and skip you guys. Note: I then went to an Aveda salon who had NO problem removing my nails and working with me to repair my damaged nails. I suggest if you want business you really open your mind and change your advertising. I don't see this place staying open another 6 months. Sad.

Update: I was here last week, today is 3/9, I've had my organic acrylics on for one week. I'm not a fan of them. Two days after I originally got them done, one broke off. I went back and got it fixed. Two days after I got that nail fixed, the same nail had the gel peel off. I've had acrylics on before and this has NEVER happened to me. I just repainted it with the closest pink I had at home. Today, after a week of having them on, another nail broke. The organic acrylic is not as strong as the other acrylics from other places. I'm a massage therapist, so I understand that I use my hands a lot, but I do not do any hard work or bump my fingers into anything. I do love this place, but I hate the organic acrylics. Love this place. I've been here twice and I have always been treated great. They take great care of you. My nails and toes always look fabulous.

Love this nail salon! My daughter and I have been twice over the summer and both times were great. They have a fun princess mani pedi special for kids which my daughter gets. I had the basic pedicure the 1st time and a hot stone pedicure my second time. All came with wonderful leg/foot messages. I'm not sure what top coat they use but it lasts for weeks. I'm currently on week 2 since my last pedicure and I have zero chips, and I am really rough on my feet. Kids get a design on their nail at each appointment which my daughter loves. The owner knew who we were as soon as we walked in for our appointment. No chemical smells at all. Such a wonderful place. I cannot wait until our next appointment!

My hubby and I made spur of the moment pedicure appointments while we were in the Reading area. The salon is really nice and super clean. We both had a basic pedicure for $30 each and both Co and LV did a great job! We will definitely be back! I enjoyed my experience there.

I really wasn't that excited about my services here. I got a pedicure and gel manicure. The only thing different from a regular nail salon is the fact that they have drinks (I can bring my own), it "looks" nice inside, and doesn't have the typical nail salon smell. My pedicure smudged 4 hours after I got it done, and literally every tough part of skin was barely scrubbed, aka still very tough. I didn't have time to go back and get my pedicure fixed. I expect something to be done right the first time. As far as my gel manicure, it's uneven around my cuticles, not to mention the employee doing my services didn't seem very happy about having to do my nails. My service was $57. All in all I've been to better & cheaper places in berks.

I've been to MAK about 4 times now, and I would say this place is just ok in terms of the manicurea and pedicures I've received. The last time I went, I asked for a design on my nails and showed the picture to the tech. The design was only on my two ring fingers, so when it was done, although I really wasn't thrilled with it (didn't look like the picture), I paid and left. I couldn't stay for a pedicure at that time, but since I had a gift card to use, I did schedule a pedicure for later in the day. After leaving and seeing my nails in different lighting, I was just not satisfied with the design at all, and I mentioned this upon returning. (I did pay 32.00, afterall!) I should also mention that not only was the design poorly fine, the gel was lumpy on two other nails and the polish was far from my cuticles, looking as though they had already grown out a bit. A different tech redid my two nails to my liking, and they did not charge me. I was very pleased with this, since even the first tech who did my nails poorly said she knows "it's not perfect, but it's still nice, right?". Overall, this place is more expensive than most, but the quality of my manis and pedis just hasn't seemed to match the price. I will mention that the girl who works the front desk is very nice!

First time at nail salon which I found via Yelp. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with time experienced. My manicurist, Hannah, was very throughly and skilled. My gel pedicure still looks amazing and it's been almost a month. I would recommend making an appointment so you know there is no wait. Can't wait to go back for a relaxing pedicure.

No chemical smell!! Staff very friendly. Relaxing pedicure and complimentary soothing teas. Surprisingly affordable for organic specialty. Will be back again soon!

I have gotten a gel manicure and basic pedicure many times at MAK. The salon offers many color options. Most importantly the salon is clean and has absolutely no chemical smells like many nail salons tend to have. I highly recommend making an appointment especially for the weekend.

The staff is very welcoming, prices affordable, great massage chairs and great pedicure, non gel lasts for weeks!

Basically writing this review for my wife...She schedules an appointment here every time we need to go the the restaurant supply that is nearby (every other week). We'll usually have lunch in that shopping center too. The first great thing about MAK is that they always take her right on time so she doesn't have to wait. She loves that the salon is clean and doesn't smell like chemicals. Even though she's super picky, she has always been happy with her nails. FIVE STARS for quality and reliability!

This is a nice place it's quiet, clean, & very pleasant. I have had manicures & pedicures & have always been satisfied with the services. They offer you hot teas, mimosa & other drinks which is a nice touch. I have recommended this Spa to my friends.

I have been getting my nails done here for the past year and a half. Every 2 weeks I spend about $70 here. The last time I was there about a week ago a woman who I had never seen did my nails. She was obviously new and seemed frazzled and nervous and it took forever. When I left my nails looked like I had regrowth as she didn't polish close enough to the bed of the nail. Within days my polish started chipping...something that rarely happens to me. I called to ask who my next appointment was with because I surely didn't want the same lady again. When I told the young lady who answered the phone the reason I was calling she said....yeah sorry about that....we let that lady go. How is that customer service? No attempt was made to remedy the fact that I spent $70 and my nails look like crap. No attempt was made to ask what was wrong with the service I received. Just an off handed unconcerned sorry about that....I've always liked this salon but this conversation with the receptionist made my blood boil.

The facility is very nice with friendly people. Great music and smells and very clean. The experience of the pedi was amazing but the result was awful - lack of attention to detail, uneven, splotchy color on my gel pedicure. It looked like a week old pedi immediately. I was going to get a gel manicure but didn't want the same awful result on my hands, so I opted for a basic no polish mani just to clean things up. I literally had to give myself a manicure after my manicure - so uneven. It was the biggest waste of money. I shared my displeasure (tactfully, kindly) and I expect a refund ... so we'll see. Disappointed ... I wanted to love this place as it's so nice.

All your advertising says you do walk-ins but when I have went I was told they had no availability and was by appointment only. My time is limited so I had to go elsewhere where they accommodated me even though they were extremely busy. If you want to do appointment only that is your perogative, but then that is what you should be advertising.

Love Mak. I'm picky and this place exceeded my expectations for service, cleanliness, skill and variety of colors. Carry many hot nail polish lines. Offer a wide variety of fun nail art and the staff is skilled and meticulous. Good, long leg massages and perfect painting. Love the drink menu but wish the "after 3" options were available before 3, since I often come earlier, on a day off. Have referred other customers who were equally pleased. Keep up the great work and nail lines and colors updated and you will give other places that THINK they are the best a run for their $...and they need it!

Worst service ever! I needed a last minute nail appointment, and decided to come here from the positive reviews. I looked online to find that it says walk ins and appointments are welcome. I walk in and they said they can squeeze me in, and as I was waiting for about 10 minutes, the girl told me they don't have room anymore. If you don't have room from the beginning, don't tell me to wait and waste my time. So disappointed.

I love Mak so much! I've been going for a gel mani every few weeks for a few years now, no where else compares. They also do an amazing job on my brow wax and pedicures. The staff is friendly, it's very clean and I never feel rushed because they do not over book, which I have run into at a lot of other salons.

This is the only place we will go for a mani/pedi. So clean, each pouch of tools they used is sterilized and in a sealed bag. I have watched the ladies disinfect the pedi bath chairs after each use. They do 3 or 4 different seasonal scrubs each month. It doesn't smell like chemicals and you can breathe. We love this place!

i was so dissappointed with my service. i had an appointment for a gel mani and mojito pedi at 5, and i got there on time. they sat me in a pedicure chair for about 45 min with the water on (so it got cold after like 10 min) and kept asking me if i wanted something to drink which i kept telling them water and they still didnt bring it. after waiting for forever, my tech seemed so annoyed and rushed through everything. when she massaged me she only did my calves... not my feet!!! im a longtime lover of charming nails so you could imagine my disgust. after my pedi i got a gel manicure, and the design was completly wrong and VERY rushed. all in all i would never recomend this place... they gave me no % off for my horrible service either!! completly dissappointed.....

Just had a fantastic pedicure here. I was skeptical about the salon being organic. I couldn't smell any chemicals. This is probably the cleanest nail salon in Berk's County. Their sanitation practices are excellent. everything is for one time use. The tools are properly cleaned. The owner is very sweet and friendly. She is also very knowledgeable about organic products. They have a referral system and a rewards system in place as well. I will be back for another pedicure and will be getting my manicures here. Foot massage given with pedicure is very good. They have hot stones as well that they use. I got the glam pedicure which was $35 included a stone massage. Pricing is extremely reasonable. I definately recommend this place to anyone who is going chemical free.

I am now a regular Client at MAK. I can't imagine going anywhere else. The Owner is amazing so anyone submitting negative reviews, I suspect did not raise their concerns to the Owner for resolution. Highly recommended. Past experiences with other salons and gel manicures is that I have to go "polish free" about every 3 months. Not with MAK, the organic products actually have been great on my nails.

I was excited to try an "organic" nail bar. I went for a gel manicure. Apparently organic means filing and scraping the living crap out of my nails, which did much more damage than the normal chemicals would have. My nail tech was distracted and not particularly friendly and five of my nails were shaped at an obvious diagonal shape. The employees were arguing loudly in front of customers. Now I am so excited to never go back there again.

Very clean establishment. Incredibly friendly staff. Affordable prices. I went with my mother and sister and we each got pedicures. My sister had a broken bone in her foot and they were great at navigating around the sore spots without compromising the value of the pedicure. My mother also needed special handling due to health concerns. I believe the name of the gentleman who assisted her was Tom. He was patient, great at explaining each step to her before he did it and in general, had a terrific personality. Give them a try! Im glad I did.

I came to this place for a pedicure after reading so many good reviews. The experience was ok, but the lady who was doing my toenails didn't speak English well and it was hard to talk to her. Before I could say anything she cut my big toes in such a way that I got ingrown toenails for a couple of month. Now it is ok, but I will never return here again. The price was reasonable, though and they do bring you tea or water

Recently moved to the area and was searching for a new salon. I've been wearing some variation of nails since I was a teenager so I knew I had to find somewhere new that could keep my nails strong. I was intrigued by the organic salon so I tried it out for the first time last month. You could definitely tell it isn't like other salons - reasonably priced but a high class experience. They offer you tea or water while you have your treatment and have great smelling lotions. I've been getting the SNS acrylic with gel polish and they have held up so well and still look really natural. The girls there can also do some really cool nail art, even really trendy stuff, so just bring in a picture and they can recreate it. I would suggest making appointments for your treatments so you can be sure they have time for you. I have started going to Lucy and I'm very pleased! Great salon, employees and atmosphere!
