"We’re not sure who’s coming to Make Westing just to play bocce ball, but their two courts are free to play and open on a first come, first serve basis. The reason you’re most likely at this industrial-style bar is for their excellent cocktails and fun atmosphere, which should help kick off your night before a show at The Fox. There’s also a good Happy Hour, sandwiches and shareable cheese plates, and a front patio to escape to if the Friday-Saturday night crowds get to be too much." - Lani Conway

This. Place. Is. Dope! I always give respect to a bar that has St. Germain infused drinks on their menu.! The bocce ball space, the lighting, the vault, all super cute! Hella tasty empanadas, double bonus points because they had turkey bacon inside! ONLY reason they get four stars it's because my homie Dan said they had an amazing oxtail sandwich on the menu and it was gone so I couldn't try it. Please consider bringing it back? Highly recommend this spot in Downtown, NOT uptown, Oakland! 🔥💥✨💫

Google
This is a hip and chill Oakland spot. They have a good selection of liquors, cheap beers and food until 9. Two bonus perks are the popcorn and bocce ball court. On weekends it can be hard to get a spot on the bocce court, so come early. It's a great spot to hang with friends or can be a great place for a date (depending on the night and time)!

Google
Cool vibe, diverse crowd, good craft beer and cocktail options, DJ area, plus Indoor bocce ball !! We didn't eat food, just came for drinks and bocce.

Google
What a great stop off after a long day. We had some drinks and food. It was unclear that we had to stand and go to the bar to be served, verses sitting at the table. Place was old but clean. If I am in that area again, I would stop in!

Google
Fun atmosphere and a cool vibe, enjoyed the artwork on the walls but the cocktails were absolutely horrible. My margarita was 90% simple syrup, just plan bad… Will get beer next time!

A few of my friends and I visited this bar after an event up the street. Honestly, I'm surprised I've never really been inside of here. Since this is the location that one of my teachers constantly frequented. It was very interesting to finally be able to go inside after seeing him there so many times. All in all the bar is really nice, and the service is pretty good. There's also a cute little gaming station in the back, though I don't know what the heck the game is.

Google
I'm pretty sure the drink I ordered was called "Hollaback" and oh my gosh it was the best drinks i've ever had ! So delicious ! I'm not sure if it's still available but if you're a banana fan try it ASAP !!! Also, the outdoor seating at night is def a vibe. Perfect place to come after a long day or just to hang out and chill.

I came here for a Warriors game and enjoyed myself. We were able to get a much-coveted table and a view of the large projection screen. The cocktails albeit pricey were excellent. I enjoyed the "Buffala Negra" and popcorn and the chicken sandwich. I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
One of the best places to drink in Downtown Oakland! The prices are usually real and I remember coming here to drink in 2017. Being one of the crowd here was probably real!

OG H.

Yelp
Awesome drinks & location Great staff too - everyone that was in our group really enjoyed the time.

Jean C.

Yelp
So I used to go here before covid and the crowd was great! I went last night and it was still great people. It was a Thursday and there was a really good dj. The drinks are solid. Good and attentive bartenders. Always plenty of security and they were nice. Bathrooms were clean. Parking can be challenging. Enjoy!

Yelp
Nasty restrooms nasty attitudes I would not recommend, On Friday evening I went to use the restroom. I politely stepped to a tall Latino gentleman who stated that he was the manager. I told him that the restrooms were nasty and needed some attention he looked at me with disgust and told me don't touch me that's not my problem that's y'all's problem.. I said wait excuse me, I just entered your establishment maybe 5 minutes ago very very rude. So then I told him okay I'll just go on Yelp and I'll write you a bad review since you're being so rude and unprofessional he tthen he had the nerve to have me put out of the establishment for no reason because he didn't want to do his job. and he was rude to me. I'll never come back there again he is too big to be that rude to a woman very disrespectful and to think he claims to be a manager he needs to be demoted.

Yelp
Pretty bad service from bartenders. Plenty of other bars near by that are better. Recommend not going here.

Jessica E.

Yelp
I never leave reviews but this experience was SO bad I have to. The first bad experience happened when I ordered a whiskey sour from the bartender. The bar was very empty when I ordered and I usually don't order whiskey sours myself because I'm a bartender and know that whiskey sours (made with egg white) take forever but I noticed they made it without egg whites so I thought it was a quick drink to make. When I tell the bartender that I wanted this he made a disgusted face at me. I said 'okay never mind, I'll take a margarita' and he goes 'It's fine, I would have just made one for you at the same time as your friends.' In a very rude tone. I tell him that I'm sorry and that I'll just take a margarita to which he agreed. I know that a margarita and a whiskey sour require the same amount of ingredients and take the same time to make (I've been a bartender myself for a few years now) so it really made no sense to me why he was so upset because the bar barley had any people. The second even worse experience happened when we spilled a very small amount of coke slaw under our table. Another bartender came up to us and said 'someone spilled food and didn't pick it up". He said this knowing it was us and said this to make us uncomfortable. I told him I would pick it up if I had something to do it and he said 'No I have to, it's my job. But you're all going to need to move." And he starts cleaning the table that wasn't even dirty as we all sit there and lift our food and drinks and he's scoffing the whole time. Simply put, this bar has an issue with their bartenders being extremely rude and passive aggressive. I've talked to other people about this bar as I am local and I was not surprised to find that so many of my friends have had similar experiences at Make Westing. I also read reviews before writing this and it seems like Make Westing staff has a big problem with customers spilling food or drinks and not picking it up themselves. Make westing staff treats the bar like it's a dive bar by being this rude but they are simply not a dive bar so this makes no sense to me at al. I work at a bar and constantly pick up after other people as I know this is part of the job. If I could leave zero stars I would.

Yelp
So much fun! Bartenders are great and the snacks are, too! Their regular menu cocktails were delicious (I'll need to come back to try moand their St. Patrick's Day specials really made the night. We tried their pizzas (we really loved the basil pesto one), nachos, and seasoned popcorn and they were all good. The Jameson promoters and the DJ made it an extra special night with friends!

Yelp
Only stellar things to say about this place. Years later it's still a gem. Thanks to the fantastic staff & partners. From door to bar - prime time.

Elisha S.

Yelp
Came here for the first time since covid been around.. security checks I'd and vaccine card at the door before entering... walk in same vibe and the DJ playing .. came around 9:30 this was my first stop of the night.. finds a seat at the bar.. looks over the menu and decides dealers choice... my goto ... and I was not disappointed..

Yelp
Came here on a nice Tuesday night to link up with old friends visiting from San Diego and Chicago, and found ourselves indulging in conversation by the bar. Make Westing is a cute isolated bar in Downtown Oakland that's conveniently located by Fox Theater. Fortunately for us, there was plenty of parking in the area and it was free after 6pm (meters of course). Since it was a Tuesday, there wasn't too many people around so we felt pretty comfortable. Drinks were delicious here! Our bartender, Shomari, was amazingly sweet and informative about drinks when we asked for some input on cocktails to order. He worked fast, but also put a great amount of attention detail into our drinks and we greatly appreciated it. This is a place I recommend y'all to check out if you're trying to have a good night spent with a group of probably 4-6 people! Check it out when you're in the area, you'll find a good drink within the options they present!

Yelp
Weird name, good vibe! Apparently the name comes from a Jack London story, and that fits well with all the old-timey wood timber (I actually fear for the intoxicated patrons not familiar with the wild planks, step-ups and step-downs all over the floor) and the entirely unaddressed antique safe at the back. We had some really tasty cocktails (Gimlet and Modern Construct) and I appreciated that they weren't $14. They were $12, and nowadays that unfortunately feels like a bargain. We went on Saturday night so there was a highly energetic disco dj playing, which was cool. Really good date night spot, and honestly, even better selfie spot thanks to good lighting.

Shayla B.

Yelp
Make Westing definitely hits the spot when it comes to the dranks. This used to be a regular stop for my friends and I when we would bar hop down Telegraph Ave. Nowadays, I don't get down here as often. But when I do get the chance to make an appearance, Make Westing rarely ever disappoints. Somewhere between a dive and a cocktail lounge is how I'd describe it. Always busy, especially Thursday through Saturday nights, but super chill and low key. They've got bocce ball, a horse shoe style bar that's square in shape, lots of standing space, and a few tables to squeeze in at if it isn't too packed. But trust, it gets packed. I can totally understand why though. The drinks are usually pretty poppin', and they make 'em stupid strong! Don't think that you'll be leavin' outta there with a straight face if you have a few. The bartenders are always friendly and the music is pretty loud but still enjoyable. They usually keep it pretty dark in here with the lights turned down low, but the bar glows at night. This bar has the most incredible vibes. A good mix of people but definitely catered more toward the hipsterish crowd. Even still, it's a fun place to have a good time. As Oakland of a bar that you can get, and I love it.

Yelp
I never...EVER...write reviews but what happened last night in this establishment was insane, completely inappropriate and unacceptable. And It all started over spilled water. One particular security guy comes up to my friend and forces him to clean up water from the ground that I accidentally made him spill (i bumped into him). I tried to explain this to the angry security guard and he said, word for word.... "i don't give a f*** bitch...he is going to clean this sh** up or Im going to make you do it" Now...that fact that he was speaking to us in this manner blew my mind. But not only that...he continued to follow us outside, harassed us and even tried to start a physical fight because we refused to clean up WATER that was spilled by accident. The entire situation blew out of proportion and I've never felt so uncomfortable and endangered in my life. The entire interaction was caught on camera so luckily we have that but what kind of business hires people like this!? Absolutely not safe.

Yelp
First time going inside even tho I've walked by this place a hundred times. So you have to try the flatbread!!! Omg so freaking good. We got the shrimp scampi one, even tho the part that made it really good was the actual flatbread part. Any topping on this would of been so good!! Decor was so cute! Bartending staff was really nice! One kept joining in our convo which I didn't mind at all. Will definitely be back!!! Especially to get more flatbread! Lol

Jana C.

Yelp
I had not been to Make Westin since the pandemic. Came back today after the Chris Rock show and found new people. Bartender sweet Caroline makes the best Gimlets and is hella cool. Definitely coming back.

Cam M.

Yelp
This place makes drinks well and I'd be more excited if all the bartenders were happy to service. There was one bartender who did not smile/have the energy the whole time I was there. As I was closing my tab, she interjected to tell me I had my card already when I told her I didn't. I wasn't sure why she was inserting herself when she didn't even make my drinks or produce my tabs. Strange.

Yelp
Hubbers wanted to spend HH here which, I thought, was a great idea since I haven't had their boquerones for some time now. And it was a good stop after cruisin' through Oakland First Fridays just a few blocks away. Hubbers was able to secure a couple of seats at the bar which can be quite a challenge here. He went ahead and ordered me a hef but waited for me to arrive before getting apps. And then, SAD FACE! No more boquerones on the menu! WHY?!??! Bartender said they just simply don't have it available anymore. He couldn't tell us why it was removed from their menu either. So, Hubbers and I settled for the braised oxtail sandwich and the Hennessey BBQ riblets. Bread on the sandwich had that familiar taste of the breads they serve with all their dishes. Buttered crisp and delicious. I felt the oxtail was a tad bit under seasoned, but still good. I didn't get the chance to try the riblets - that was all Hubbers - and with the way he scarfed it down, it must have been good! This place is bangin'. They really do attract a crowd. Bartenders (there were at least 5 behind the counter) really do hustle and bustle! My personal space got invaded a few times as peeps tried to get their drink and food orders in. It really is a popular place! But still disappointed about the disappearance of the boquerones. (Insert sad face here!) I hope they bring it back sometime SOON because it was the ONE reason I kept coming back!!!

Yelp
A Great Place To Relax And Enjoy A Garden Gimlet a fantastic pace to socialize and great music

Yelp
This place is the best known secret in Oakland! Great cocktails! Exceptional selection of brands to choose from and a first rate bar staff! *My New Hole in the wall**

Yelp
Dark and dim: how I like it. Friends migrated here for more drinks on a Wednesday night. I choose not to drink at all, but their selection of hard liquor was nice. I had their cajun boil: it's quite small but good. I didn't care for the pate on the side, but the pickled beets on the side were good. The little snack came with bread on the side. Super good. For 9 bucks, I'm not complaining. They also have bocce courts (two lanes) in here if you're looking for an activity to do. They also have a projector airing whatever that's on. - It was pretty packed, but not all seats were taken on a Wednesday night.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Taste: 4.5 Value: 5 Service: good Pretty chill place on a Monday night. I read a lot of reviews about this French muse, so I asked the bartender if he could make it. He said unfortunately no but mostly because he didn't have any raspberries. But, he agreed to make me something similar which was deliciously refreshing and tasted like a crossover between a french 75 and mojito. Great refreshing drink for the end of the night. Boche ball court was pretty empty today. Giants game was on the screen. Some indoor and outdoor seating. Note: my friend also had a drink with brazilian alcohol that he really liked...apparently its not the cheap version, so that's a plus!

Adeeva M.

Yelp
Make Westing is a great spot for casual drinks on the weekend! Drinks are great and the vibe is really chill. It can get pretty crowded on a Saturday night. Definitely Uber for a safe and fun time!

Rebekah T.

Yelp
I cannot believe that I have not written a review for Make Westing yet. I have been here a few times with groups of people for Happy Hour (4-6pm everyday) and it is always busy and fun. My two favorite cocktails are the Modern Construct and the Buffala Negra, which are both rye and bourbon drinks; but the Garden Gimlet is great for a refreshing cocktail, I love the basil. They also have a nice beer list for my guy who loves a nice draft and is somewhat particular about his beer. To eat, we usually always get the Habanero & Cilantro Infused Popcorn as a snack. Sometimes the pickled things in jars, the breakfast (dinner) sandwich or Roasted Chicken Sandwich - it's that bacon and tomato jams that they make that make the sandwiches so tasty. This is a fun spot, so a great location to meet friends after work or stop in for a drink before a show or dinner in the area. Cheers!

Yelp
Last night approximately around 12-1am I was sitting down with 2 friends by the entrances tables this African American man that I have never seen in my life came close to me and said he was from Chicago made a comment about my shoes. I said thank you and turned my back facing my friends. This man started raising his voice at me for no reason. Securities who were smoking weed from the moment they checked my ID to walk inside - to the moment I left yelled and kicked me out for no reason. As we all walk outside the crazy man walks outside still shouting for no reason. Tried to spit on my face but put his spit back on his mouth. At this point I'm very upset and I spit on his face and he smacked my face so hard that it knocked one my earrings out. He busted the inside of my lip and my right ear is swollen. The securities did nothing about it. Instead they said "you spit on him first". This was my second time At this location and all I ordered last night was 2 personal pizzas. I'm not sure if this kind of behavior is allowed in Oakland but this kind of behavior is not ok. The man was wearing a green/yellow sweater, I believe he was also wearing a green beanie. His height is probably between 6'-6'3 in his mid 30's. No man should ever put their hands on a woman. If you can't control your alcohol you should not be drinking. It is not ok to start arguments with strangers. I did not feel safe at this location.

Cliff S.

Yelp
So this took place on a Friday night a couple weeks ago. ... I am here right now making this review... I've been sitting here for 5 minutes with my credit card in my hand... And these two guys sat right next to me after I got here and already have their drinks... I'm gunna call people out . The girl in the grey . Totally looked and disregarded me and my friend... I'm ready to spend $$$ and nope... No service or acknowledgement whatsoever... And another bartender just acknowledged us and said he will be right with us and proceeded to take other orders. Then we saw her taking shots with what looked like people that worked there The bartender is right in front of us and still no sorts of service. I have to say, not very impressive at all, but hey, its a bar, what can I really expect?

Sonam B.

Yelp
So happy to have stumbled upon this place while strolling around today! Love the vibe and the Rocky Road cocktail - it's definitely going to be my go-to drink from now on (it's a bourbon based cocktail with chicory pecan bitters, biscotti liqueur and chocolate vodka...how cool is that?!)

Megan P.

Yelp
Music is terrible, please I beg you hire a better DJ/ aux controller. Drinks are good, but the music makes this location lack vibes

Jennefer C.

Yelp
The day I was craving for something amazing, my brother suggested a sandwich at this establishment. Everyone who knows me know that I am not into sandwiches and popcorn, but we went anyway because he was convinced that I would love this place no matter how I felt about sandwiches & popcorn. Bleh... I was not even excited about the suggestion. We picked up another friend & when we got there, I was ordered me the Braised Oxtail sandwich w/ Bourbon Glazed Onions, Horseradish Aioli & Fresh Cole Slaw. Along w/ that, a side of Habanero & Cilantro Infused Popcorn w/ Lime Butter, Aleppo, & Cotija. OMG!!! My whole outlook on sandwiches & popcorn suddenly changed when I took a bite out of the Oxtail sandwich. Their popcorn??? Wow!!! If I ever go out to the movies, I will be heading here first for some popcorn to take w/ me to the theater that's for damn sure. What I had was so good it made me drop F bombs on my Instagram when I posted the photos. Hahaha... If you have not tried the 2 things I had at this place, then you are definitely missing out. I can honestly say that I will be dining here again SOON!!! VERY SOON!!!

Alice X.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! It's basically the most poppin place at night time! I like their Garden Gimlet cocktail. It contains gin, cucumber, basil and lime. It's very refreshing tasting! I also like ordering their crispin cider. It's super delicious! Would I come here again?! OH HECK YA!

Clarence A.

Yelp
Braised oxtail sando!!!!! I was able to sample there Braised oxtail sandwich and let me say I will be back for more, not oily, not fatty, near perfection on a toasted bun. The sandwich on a whole was a tad small, especially if you are sharing, but the meat was tender and flavorful, not to salty, more or less all around perfect on meat to bun proportion I also sampled the bone marrow dish, no skimming on this dish, full heavy amount of bone marrow on the bone, like most places that offer this dish you are scraping the bone to get every last bit, here the marrow was heavy, oily, thick consistency, throw it on some toasted bread that is offered and it is delicious, you can dip the bread in the sauce found underneath the bone, ohh man sooo good, I do recommend this place for the food, I did sample few beers, I would stay for there food that they offer food **** oxtail sandwich is a plus, bone marrow also a plus service **** no wait, walked up to the bar and ordered, received the food in 5 min price $$ ambiance **** large venue, bochi ball not regulated size but folks compete here, allot of room to stretch your legs, better to go on a week night to avoid several crowds during the friday and saturday crowds I will be back for more oxtail and bone marrow

dana b.

Yelp
I like this place. Good vibe the night my bf and I came through. Drinks are not strong but not bad either.

Mecca I.

Yelp
Love this spot! Often times it is very crowded on nights like first Friday and on most Saturday's. First and foremost the cocktails are great! They also serve food here. The reason I want to shout this place out it how vigilant and dedicated they are to keeping this bar as safe as possible. Not only do they provide complimentary Fentanyl tests but I noticed if you walk away from the bar they will put a coaster over your drink which is a small thing that makes a huge difference. The staff is friendly o the guests and amongst each other. I love the enviro here and I wish all success on them

Passang T.

Yelp
My next stop while in town. Been kicked out of this place on multiple occasions but I tell I gotta love this place. Everybody that works here are super chill and friendly and welcoming. NGL I have never been here on a weekdays but surprisingly I enjoyed weeknight here more than on weekends. Love their blackberry mojitos and the bartender made some type of berry margarita which was a hit too. As always I'll be back but on week days from now on so I can enjoy the energy and not get kicked out

Jad A.

Yelp
This is very cool place Not a big food selection but a full bar Right next to the Fox theater Has outdoor tables Their pulled pork sandwiches are good

Dion R.

Yelp
This bar used to be great, but after tonight's experience I'm going to make sure with every fiber in my body that none of my friends go here. First, we got in and there's clearly an open table inside. I asked if my partner and I can have that table and the "bouncer" (6 foot dude, red beanie), with his extremely rude attitude, tells me there's only a table outside. I pointed the open table and he countered saying someone's sitting there and they're just at a bar ordering a drink. I accept that. I ordered my drinks at the bar and while I was waiting for them, I see him clearly putting 2 girls at the table within 3 minutes of our conversation. Makes sense. So if I was a girl I probably would've gotten that table. Good luck keeping customers with that kind of system.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
DRINK Garden Gimlet: gin, cucumber, basil, and lime. Refreshing and easy to drink. 4/5 SERVICE This place was packed on a Friday night. There was a large crowd inside and outside the bar. It took 15 minutes to order our drinks. There's 2 lanes for bocce ball.

Linda N.

Yelp
This is probably one of the hottest bars on this strip in Uptown. Whether you're walking around with your date, after dinner celebrating a homies birthday, or catching a show at the Fox theater, Make Westing is a great pit stop for drinks. What I absolutely love about this place is the indoor bocce ball courts. It's set up nicely where guests can watch as you demolish your component. The crowd is super diverse in ethnicity and age, chill vibes, no pretentious people. Will definitely return.

Justin S.

Yelp
Located near the Fox Theater, Make Westing has the appearance of a cozy lounge with its use of dark woods and metals. The two bocce lanes at the rear of the bar adds to the warm, inviting atmosphere. The cocktails seem reasonably priced for speciality cocktails ($11 pre-tax) and are made fairly well. I ordered the Modern Construct (bourbon, cherry heering, blood orange liqueur, and all-spice), which tasted like a hybrid of both Old Fashioned styles (w/ and w/o muddled cherries). It was slightly stronger than an Old Fashioned w/muddled cherries w/o being as fruit-forward. Additionally, I (and a friend) ordered the roasted chicken sandwich ($13 pre-tax) and oxtail sandwich ($15 pre-tax). Both sandwiches came on french rolls with immaculate outer crunchiness and inner softness and moisture. I would prefer less aioli on the chicken sandwich, but otherwise the sharp, nutty arugula contrasted the juicy, rich chicken well. The ox tail sandwich, while delicious, was less balanced. The ox tail sidelined the sauerkraut and horseradish aioli. The prices are about 10-15% higher than I would prefer, however.

Sheri W.

Yelp
We found this bar totally by mistake since we were actually aiming for the one next door, wandered in by accident, and stayed. Make Westing is described as a sports bar, and we weren't looking for a sports bar. This has to be a mislabeling. There wasn't even a TV in there! I loved the large bar space. At least half of the numerous bars in Oakland are very cramped, but not this one. The bartenders were friendly and the cocktails were strong and delicious. There was music playing in the background, but not too loudly. My friend and I could actually hear each other and converse without shouting. Although we didn't try any of the food, I loved that food was available, since sometimes I really need to put food in my stomach when drinking. What I saw being delivered to others looked good, so I'll check that out next time. I will definitely be back!

Laura B.

Yelp
Stopped by here with a friend on a Thursday night, and things were already in full swing by 7 pm. We stood at the bar and were enjoying our drinks before being expelled by a couple of classy gents who took over our spot, but with folks flowing in and out it's pretty easy to eventually find a table or a few seats. I only had a couple draft ciders, but it looks like they have a decent wine/beer list as well as a solid selection of house cocktails. They also serve grub, which I wish we'd stuck around for. I'd avoid Itani Ramen across the street in the future. I didn't have a chance to explore much, but from the indoor bocce court to the snazzy cocktails and food, I have a reason to come back. Looking forward to it!

Nancy L.

Yelp
All I need is Bocce Ball and French Muses and I'm gucci! Uptown Oakland is alive and popping and Make Westing is one of the main reasons. It is the perfect spot to start the night or end the night at. They have two bocce ball lanes available inside. It's always fun to compete with your friends and bet on who is going to buy the next round. Yes, they have a full bar, but how many bars around the area have absinthe in their drinks? The French Muse is all I need! Two of those and I'm set for the entire evening. Drink with caution~~ Would love to stop by during the day or early evening to check otu their happy hour menu and their snacks.

Morgan S.

Yelp
Bring back the sandwiches!!!!!!! Pre pandemic Make Westing had amazing sandwiches; the best chicken sandwich in town. Im hoping if enough people ask they might reconsider : ) still a great bar though!

Kathy V.

Yelp
Does it seem like I've been partying too much? It may look so, but nah.. I'm just a social person. My bff mentions: meet me in Oakland for a drink Me: I said where? Bff: Making West Me: Huh? Bff: I know, it sounds weird but meet me Me: Umm Ok Had my favorite Yelpers Christine P. tag along with me to be my sidekick -just in case the bff left me hanging Shhhhh!! LOL Arrival: Packed & Spacious-questioned myself, how come Ive never notice this water hole before? Next to Somar too? HMMMM Atmosphere: Hipsters and locals.. but why were there a lot of short men on one side and the other-tall men its like they were sectioned LOL -Just an observation Hold up: Did I just see someone playing Bocce ball? Neat! upon signing up -inebriated people drunk bowling in sand HAHAHA made my night interesting- love to people watch!! Drinks: Dam someone has a heavy hand.. *Cheers* Food: IDK didn't eat inside, but I asked a guy about his pulled pork sammich and he said it was gooooood. Ps. the bacon dog cart was next door-YAY

Sam Y.

Yelp
What a weird name. Came here with my co-workers for happy hour and had a good time. The service was quick and easy and people had a good time. There was a bocce court in here too, which was cool.

James D.

Yelp
Awesome place to grab drinks before a show at the Fox Theater! We came here a couple days ago before a Thursday show and loved the vibe inside. They have a Bocce ball court inside the bar that you can play at. It's first come, first serve. They also have plenty of places to sit and enjoy your drinks and even offer a good food menu. We never had to wait long to grab drinks and place a food order in at the bar. Their bartenders are attentive and get to you quick. I ordered the chicken sandwich they had and it was fantastic! Great flavor and served on a nice bread roll. Would definitely recommend this spot to others!

Yelp
They have a Bocce Ball Court INSIDE the bar! Mind. Blown. Drinks were good and at $8 a pop, what a steal. The cucumber gimlets were probably one of the best I've ever had, potent and flavorful in the right ways. They even offer an additional $2 discount on cocktails during happy hour. I need to visit Oakland more often.

Yelp
I came here and it was pretty dead. It's a huge space with 2 bocce ball courts. Ive been here on a Friday/ Saturday and it's been packed. A friend of mine djed here when they first open, but I don't know what kind of music they play now. Basically we came and cuz they didn't have a cover on a sunday night.

Yelp
Great spot in downtown oak when you're over exploring the beer gardens in the area. Two words: BOCCE BALL! Never thought I'd find a place other than bar bocce in Marin that would actually have an area set up to play. The place itself is pretty poppin on the weekends so get there early if you want to grab a place to sit and even stand. The drinks themselves are averagely priced at $10-$12 a pop. They are pretty strong though so don't underestimate them. Even on a busy night, the bartenders are attentive and will find their way to take your order and get it to you as quickly as possible.

Yelp
Our best before show stop for drinks in a long time. Lamour was working the bar and he was working it well. We started with drinks off the menu, the Penultimate and the Out with the Old, and both were excellent. I wanted another rye drink and asked Lamour for something different, but good for the hot afternoon. He delivered with a drink he thought might be a bit too sweet, but offered to fix it. He was right about it being on the sweet side, but it was still very good so I kept it. We had time for a third so I trusted him again and he delivered with a perfect summery rye drink with blood orange, but still rye forward. By the way, the habanero lime popcorn was awesome and a perfect bar food. If we weren't headed to dinner we would have tried some of the other delicious looking snacks that others had. The crowd was friendly and the environment is great. Good corner spot with a breeze and outside seating available. We'll be back!
