Malibu Pier

Malibu Pier is a lovely place to visit, especially on a sunny day. We went in late December and enjoyed a bright, pleasant break from the unpredictable rain. The pier and beach were beautiful and relaxing, perfect for spending time with my wife and friends. Finished the visit with lunch at Jack in the Box—jalapeño poppers and fries were perfect. A great coastal experience overall. Must visit if you are on the west coast side of California. 😊👍🤗

Iconic spot in Malibu. We walked the pier and then along the shoreline. We watched all the surfers try to catch some waves. I is a beautiful way to spend an evening. We did see some of the carnage from the wildfires driving to the pier but its been cleaned up well for the most part.

Malibu Pier is nice... short, quiet and relaxed. As nice at it is, its short and feels like a walkway from one restaurant to another. You can fish and see the coast line of Malibu beach but its very relaxed ... and quiet. There is parking just outside and looks like there are two large gates at the entrance so they may close it at night.

I've heard stories about driving up the Pacific Coast Highway of how beautiful it was. We were in town from Michigan. We had extra time, so took the trip. Initially it was a bit disappointing, because of the early morning Smog. The crazy thing is when we reached the pier the sun broke thru. Parking was steps away and the two restaurant were conveniently located. The view did not disappoint. Unfortunately three bathrooms were disgusting, even with security codes. They were not clean.

Beautiful iconic malibu pier. It was very beautiful quiet, peaceful. We enjoyed amazing sunset. I wouldn't recommend anyone on wheelchair, walker or anyone on high heel because pier floor is not even. We witnessed one lady fell and broke her frant tooth. So very carefully.

The Malibu Pier is one of my favorite places to take a stroll, especially to watch the surfers at world-famous Surfrider Beach. The views up and down the coast are incredible, and it’s always a relaxing place to walk after appointments. Malibu Farm at the beginning of the pier is perfect for a meal or coffee with ocean views, and the pier has become even more of a community hub with the Dreamland/Aviator Nation 2025 Summer Concert Series. It’s the perfect blend of history, scenery, food, and local culture — a must-visit in Malibu.

Super rad place. Parking is tough depending on the season and time if day. The parking lots close after sunset i think, so assure your vehicle is moved should you park there. Surf is usually pretty clean. Lots of large rocks, so use caution. On higher tides you are able to skimboard there, which is super dope. Usually pretty packed with beach goers and surfers. But still a great and welcoming vibe. Don't forget to take all your trash off the beach when you're done!

Good to walk on out to see the beach activity, the wooden walk is kind of bumpy. When I walked there the 2 restaurants at the end of the pier were closed. There were a lot of fishing along the pier but no activity. I did not know they caught any. But it is nice sunny and breezy and nice views.

It would be ridiculous to give anything less than a 5/5 for a location this beautiful. It's true that the pier only has 2 dining and 2 retail locations, but the beauty alone is worth the visit. It's a lot cleaner and calmer than the Santa Monica Pier and the vibe is completely different. The crowds at both places are totally different. Malibu Pier is the sort of place you'll want to bring your significant other or children. Parking is also pretty easy as there are a lot of available street spots, but they fill up fast. We chose to park in the paid lot directly next to the entrance for $15, which was worth it because this past weekend was especially busy due to the great weather and zero wind. A true Malibu staple and I would recommend to anyone. It would be equally enjoyable for a local or a tourist. Fishing is also possible from the pier.

Beautiful day and Christmas Eve. Spectacular views of the hills, landscape and ocean. And we got to see Santa Claus walking on the pier. Great day with family .

Cool spot and easy access to the beach as well. Some coffee and brunch spots on the pier and right before the pier. Public restrooms are at the end of the pier. Plenty of spots to fish as well but I believe you need a fishing license

Absolutely one of the most beautiful piers along the west coast! The café located at the beginning and end of the pier is a must, dine on the pier with beautiful views all around! Parking can be tricky, but they do have a few pay lots and parking along the street. Iconic must see!

The Malibu pier was a nice little adventure to go and explore. I had a nice little restaurant and a gift shop at the very end. It didn't cost any money to get on the pier which I enjoyed our a lot of people fishing on the side and it was the overall good experience.

Malibu, home to some of the most successful celebrities. Well, there's a reason why. Just look at those photos I took, breathtaking! WOW! Are you stressed? Need some air? Well, go and visit Malibu Pier, walk around the coastline, it's refreshing: fresh air, jaw-dropping views, soothing atmosphere. This is probably second to just Laguna Beach and that is something considering the countless beaches located in SoCal. You could dine here and buy souvenirs. P.S., The sunset here is GORGEOUS! Tip: Don't bother looking for free parking. Just pay for it because it will be time well spent! You will leave this place feeling blissful!

Despite having lived my whole life in socal, I had never been to Malibu pier. It has shops and eatieries and a gorgeous view of the Pacific ocean. But parking like everywhere in LA is terrible especially on the weekends. There is LA history at the pier, so it's worth checking out when it's a little more quiet and relaxed.

I'm always surprised by the difference between the Malibu pier and the Santa Monica pier. The Malibu pier is much quieter than the Santa Monica pier! Although the venue is not as large or well-populated, it has a more laid-back, picturesque atmosphere. There is none of the hustle and bustle of a tourist carnival, but rather a refined, relaxed atmosphere. We are eager to return. If you arrive early in the morning, as we did, free parking is readily available and there was no queue. The morning air was invigorating. Additionally, it is recommended to visit the souvenir store, as it offers a unique experience.

I've been here a dozen times but the last time I was here was the first time I sucked it up and just paid for parking and I think I'll do that every time moving forward. It saves so much time, and it's so much safer than parking on the highway. I also can't believe I never realized there was beach access from the parking lot! After we had lunch at Malibu Farm and walked along the pier, we put our feet in the water and hung out. There's not much sand when the tide is high but it's an awesome experience. Overall the pier is simple but relaxing. There's one shop and two restaurants, public bathrooms, fisherman and sometimes there are little vendors selling things along the pier. Lastly, you can almost always count on seeing dolphins at the far end the pier where the fishermen hang out. All around, there's nothing not to like about stopping here on the way to or from a day in Malibu.

Most excellent food, outstanding staff and beautiful views of the ocean, surfers and sunset. Parking on the street or in the paid lot right next to the pier.

I have seen the Malibu Pier many times but never actually stopped and walked it till recently. Parking - steep for $15 but there are other lots if you don't mind walking a bit. For me, it's a nice, historic pier, with majestic walls, built in 1905. It's not as long as others, it's charming, but very crowded, almost too crowded between Instagramers taking photos non-stops to many people fishing, leaving their rods everywhere, so it's very hard to find a spot near the rail to enjoy the views. Which are very nice. Just a store with souvenirs, decent quality ones and Malibu Farm with two locations taking pretty much over. Especially during Covid-era it was a tad too populated for me. Otherwise a nice small pier with great coastline views.

pretty disappointing. no where to park theres really nothing here. that malibu farm restaurant amd they have a little bar in the back. they have one mainly kids store. I would like to see more variety around here. luckily across the street theres parking for $10 in a little business center. the malibu farm bar has great drinks. the papaya is bomb!

Malibu Pier is a fantastic place to visit with your family. The views are fantastic, both day and night. Parking can fill up fast, so recommend coming early or at off peak hours. Malibu Farm restaurant is a fantastic place for brunch. The other smaller Malibu Farm take out at end of pier is nice for quick bites and great views. The retail shop at the end of the pier has an eclectic collection of all sorts of pins, patches, small trinkets and collectibles in addition to clothing etc. Definitely worth the trip!!

Malibu Pier is really low key in comparison to Santa Monica Pier!! It's not as big or as crowded, but it was more of a scenic, chill vibe here. A few people having dinner and drinking wine at the restaurant here, along with people just out for a stroll or fishing. Parking in this area is a challenge, as it's just off Highway 1. Go to the end and look back at the coast, or the Pacific Ocean, the views here are great!!

Been again and am always amazed how different the Malibu and Santa Monica Piers are. Nothing of the carnival but all classy, smooth atmosphere. My wife and I had an excellent breakfast yesterday. Yes, it's pricey, but definitely worth it. I can't wait to go again. And, the master question: would I be happy to make a 30+ min detour to go here (mandatory in my rating scheme to achieve five stars): absolutely. I just did and can't wait to go again next week. Advice: if you go early in the morning - as we did - free parking is easily found, and there was no line at all. The morning breeze was just incredible.

Every time when we drive by Malibu Pier, I always think that one day, I need to stop by and visit this pier. Here we are, finally we have a chance this weekend to visit the pier. And we really enjoyed the time there. The parking is $15. It is not a big parking lot, but we still found a parking space inside. They have portable restrooms setup in the parking lot. The pier is gorgeous! The view is stunning ! I love their 2 stories gift shop, the little round window inside the gift shop makes me feel like on the ship. When I stand at the corner of second floor watching the beautiful blue in front of me, I feel I am on the ship. The white and blue color combinations of tower really matches well with sea color. The Sunset is beautiful ! Malibu Farm Pier Cafe is located in the front of pier which we had a great dinner later on at the night. We definitely will come back to Malibu Pier again. I see people walking on the beach under the pier, I will do that next time.. This pier will be one of my favorite pier now!

Last weekend my husband, a friend and I walked in Carbon Beach and the píer. It was really busy in the restaurants. It is a cool place to brunch if you have a budget, because it is not cheap the food there. Although, the wait line was long. But, walking there, see the sunset is highly recommended. Take the friend who lives in another city, state or country to visit there. Just is horrible to park. Wendi's park on the street close to a beach access and walk almost 2 miles.

Super cute pier, small but very enjoyable. We made a pit stop and took advantage of the parking, stop at the Malibu Farms Cafe, walked around, and enjoyed the breeze of the Saturday morning. When in Malibu make sure you stop here for cute pics!

This is Malibu, so whatever you do make sure you visit Malibu Pier while in town. This is hands down one of my favorite places to visit in LA. Also, it's very close to the Getty Villa and the famous Santa Monica Pier. Make sure you also check out Malibu Farms restaurants for their famous drinks and dishes.

Visited here on Thursday since it was a holiday. The ocean view is spectacular, very clean too. My friend and I were enjoying the breeze while walking down the pier. We had to take a bunch of pictures, on top of the rocks, on the pier, and in front of the ocean. Worth the visit and definitely will come back for an escape from reality!!

The pier is famous for its iconic dual white towers, rough hewn planks and sweeping views of the coast, which is a favorite destination and Malibu's most recognizable landmark. It is now as famous for its exceptional sister restaurants and shopping as it is for its views of surfers in the north side of pier and dolphins sometimes, also fishermen friendly.

Beautiful scenic beach, a lot of good vibes, always enjoy my time driving down here, passing by Nobu on my way to the annual Surfaid to support a great cause from one of my fav childhood actor Zen Gesner, if you ever get a chance to check out this event, you will be amazed. This was the 2nd year for me to watch people competing in surfing to raise money for charity.

Great place to hang around in Malibu. Small pier but cute. Few van vendors and a great cafe at the very cliff of pier. There is a gift and souvenirs shop At end and seems to be owned by same cafe. Everything here is themed in same paint color which looks really cool. Parking just outside is costly and they charge $15. Luckily we got one space on road side. Great views from pier.

We arrived Malibu Pier right before Sunset! It's been a while that we visited Malibu pier. It still very simple with restaurants near the entrance of the pier and fishing, gift shop, and gallery near end of the pier. It is a long stretch of pier sticking out nicely at Sunset. Both color of the sky and the ocean and a little yellowish color from sunset made it a picture perfect moment. This is one of the piers actually have a giant gateway with a door before entering it. If it wasn't so windy and COVID, upstair next to the Gallery is perfect for siting down and watch the sunset with some drinks on hand. It is definitely a good place for couple to walk around the pier and group of friend or family to gather around finishing. Pictures says a thousand thing, it is a simple and beautiful pier!

An irrefutably lovely spot to waltz and relax. Today included a surprise catch as I left for home. A young angler hooked into a baby halibut and looked so happy! I just had to see if this was a hot bite, so I got my rig out *always have it in tow just in case, and I find a white lure that I recall seems to work well for hali. Sure enough, I yank in two! One, this guy, is a good 13 to 14 and a fighter. Big bad chompers on him too. You'd best keep your fingers clear if you like to keep them. Even with my pliers, it felt dangerous. The next one I got was smaller and didn't photograph him before returning him to the ocean. Fun fun day.

Ended up at the Malibu Pier after walking through the lagoon and beach. Plenty of people eating outside on a Friday afternoon / evening. Just another nice place to get some fresh air and good views after a long week.

Very nice food, drinks, ambiance view... Bloody Mary is great - highly recommend! Lobster roll is also worse to try. Service is good and attentive.

Mood - Historical Landmark As you park and began your walk on this famous pier, there is a significant amount of history that it is known for. No this isn't the largest pier in California, however it is adorned in so much rich history and continues despite the years of being closed. This pier was originally built in 1905, to serve as a transfer point of agricultural goods for the Rindge's Malibu Rancho. Mr. Rindge was not alive to see the completion. However his wife May, made sure it was completed to his specifications. In 1934 the pier was open to the public for charter fishing. 1936 the ranch went bankrupt and the bondholders took over responsibility, at that time they extended the pier to its current length of 781ft - The pier has switched hands many times over the years from private owned, state owned, to city owned, back to the state of California. It took 10 million dollars to restore the pier after all the damages had occurred from the storms that were ravenous in the early 1990's. Fun facts 1. An artificial reef was constructed to help protect the pier, consisting of concrete, old street cars, and metal 2. The end pier served as a US Coast Guard lookout station during WW II 3. The Pier remained closed for 13 years until the grand re- opening July 2008 I would def recommend- this pier has a couple of wonderful restaurants and a gift shop. In addition great views for dolphin sightings and surf competitions Location is Pac Hwy/ Serra Rd- Malibu - ample parking, mostly paid, unless you walk or are very creative.

Fabulous expansion to the beachside community of Malibu. My husband & I have been watching this pier expand & morph over the past few years & love it. The restaurants have hit their stride and are two excellent additions to the eatery options in the area. The initial wall boundaries at the start of the pier are a remainder of the Adamson House's wall & at one time the small turret was home to the families son. Very neat history & as you can see that sea wall extends down to the confines of the remaining Adamson Family house, now preserved for posterity as a historical site. The pier is in great shape with some newly replaced boards. It's not too long and very walkable. It's down right short actually, but with a great vantage of the surfers in the area who surf off the point by the Adamson Family property to the north. Frequently fisherman are fishing off the sides of the pier. Growing up back East, I appreciate that Malibu offers something comparable to the many seaside pavilions you find back there for public use. Being able to enjoy the shoreline as a community is a wonderful thing. After all, the ocean view just never gets old to those of us who love it!

One of our favorite spots for a relaxing day. The pier is small but beautiful. Has a very tranquil feeling to it. There are three restaurants you can eat at or have coffee/drinks. There is also a cute gift shop right at the end of the pier. People fish here and there are few benches you can sit at and enjoy the beautiful view. You can walk down to the beach from the side of the pier and swim or walk around. There is a parking lot right next to it that charges $15 to park. But we always drive around for few mins and park on the street.

Super tourist spot but I made good memories here hanging with my parents and little sister on their first trip back in the US after so long so I love it. Its a ... you know, a pier, you got the walkway, the nice view of the beach, a souvenir store, some expensive restaurants that serve some kind of seafood. I do think that this place is better than the SM Pier cause it seems to be less crowded but its more of a drive I guess. Still, I would take someone here if it were their first time visiting LA just for the views. I know its a touristy spot but the reason why its so cliche is kind of still endearing to me. The restaurant has a nice vibe but be prepared to spend at least $40 per head for a proper meal.

The Malibu Pier has great restaurants with outdoor seating and offer blankets and hot cocoa when it gets a little chilly out. There are also a few really cute shops if you are looking for Nick-Nacks and such. You can also venture down to the beach for a bit of frolicking. The best optics at the Malibu Pier are right at sunset...breathtaking!

We lived within walking distance to the Malibu Pier for 5 years. We took the car the first time but parking can be difficult so would walk or take Uber/Lyft to get there. Parking isn't that bad but sometimes a bit of a walk. First of all, the view and cool ocean breezes makes it a great place to visit There are, also, so many stores and places to eat-from very casual to a bit more upscale. Then, you have the amusement park with carnival rides, games and unique activities such as trying your hand on the flying trapeze! There is also an amazing aquarium. I have been to it a number of times for fun and other times for continuing education classes to learn things to share with my students. I love the Malibu Pier. It holds a special place in my heart for fun times. It has a beautiful view during the day but it becomes the sight with the colorful lights. I definitely recommend it during the day for families or couples wanting a romantic outing both day and night!

Beautiful place to go for walks ! Ladies, be careful when walking through the parking in the evening and nights. The last few times when we visited, we saw 2 guys driving around the parking lot in a car and approaching ladies. The first time we saw that, we asked if the ladies were ok, and they said the guys had accent and was trying to hit on them and getting them to ride in the car. We went again last week and saw the same guys again, this time in a different car doing the same thing. This time, we waited until the ladies broke away from them to check on them. They were walking back to the hotel from the restaurant. Ladies, when you encounter them, keep walking...

The Malibu Pier has a certain charm to it. The only thing I don't really like about it is dogs aren't allowed. Of course, my husband brought his service dog, but no one gave us a problem about her probably because she is well-behaved and clearly marked (mainly for nosy people). Parking could probably be rough during peak seasons, but we didn't have a problem. Pricey. $10 in the lot to the left of the pier facing the glorious Pacific Ocean. Cute shops. Came here this past weekend $15 parking and a nice walk on the pier. Everyone social distanced and wore their mask. Patio dining in offered by the seafood restaurant on site. Plenty of people fishing or just enjoying the beautiful sunset. Small beach area but better then a crowd during these times. Nice local spot to check out.

Malibu Pier is pretty small but of course there's a beautiful view of the ocean. There's not a lot going on aside from Malibu Farm Restaurant and Cafe, there's also a souvenir shop. It's good for a simple short walk, but don't expect it to be a big pier with other activities like Santa Monica Pier. If it's your first time visiting, I feel like you can get away with only stopping by for about 15-30 minutes.

"meh". Don't know what all the hype is about but it's hardly worth even stopping for 10 minutes. Parking is nearly impossible unless you spent $15 to park in the adjacent lot with parking spot sizes that are intended only for minicoopers with rude attendants. Ate at the Malibu Farm restaurant and... it was fine. The entirety of Malibu is just disappointing really.

Cute little pier with not much to do but cool for the Instagram pics and if you want to eat at the Malibu Farm! I wish there was more to this pier than 2 stores and a restaurant which is why I gave it a 4 star. If these had more to it, Malibu would probably get more tourists. I like the store at the end of the Pier but they should upgrade the clothing instead of the typical tourist shirt (at least do stitched sweatshirts and in hip Malibu font). I would do unique stuff! Its also over priced. $15 for a chocolate bar.... ummmm no thanks lol! Needs some more pizzazz! Don't spend more than 30 minutes here, I doubt you will unless you sit down and stare at the water which you could just do at the beach! I will probably try the restaurant on the pier if I am ever in Malibu again!

This pier and surrounding beach is a fun way to spend an afternoon. We were staying nearby so not too sure about parking... but this pier offers a pretty awesome view of the coastline (all the way to Catalina) and has a restaurant, some little pop-up stores and a large souvenir shop at the end of the pier. We had a great time strolling down and walking to the top of the gift shop to check out the view. There is a little outdoor area that is part of the shop where you get a pretty awesome sweeping view of the ocean and coastline. The pier is super cute and decorated with festival lights. Absolutely check it out - it's an iconic Malibu spot that should be a "must see" for any traveler.

Paid $15 for parking, but spent several hours on the beach- which is a little small so can get somewhat crowded, but not too bad. Nice pier to walk down with a couple spots to grab a bite.

I love Malibu! (Who doesn't?) my roommate and I stopped here today on our way home from the beach to get some good photos of the sunset! The view was AMAZING from here. The postcard picture of a California sunset. Surprisingly the pier was not crowded and we found a parking spot along the street with no problem!

The pier is beautiful but the parking real sucks. There's a parking right on the pier that start at 5$ to 15$ each entry even if your only 5 minutes there. We tried to park waited awhile because it was full finally we got in but the restaurant line was long so decided to leave still we have to pay 5$ not even 5 minutes. Definitely we'll not rush next time.

ATTENTION FISHERMEN- The pier opens at 6:00 AM but the adjacent parking lot doesn't open until 7:00 AM. Parking is $15. You will need to find parking elsewhere if you want to start fishing right when the pier opens. Also, bait shop doesn't open until 8:00 AM. Again, if you want to start fishing before then, make sure you bring your own bait. Otherwise, nice, uncrowded on a Monday. Pulled two calico bass out of the drink, not keepers, but fun overall. Looked like everybody else got skunked. Next time I will pack bait, look for parking, be in the brine by 6:01 AM :)

Loved the beach, the food options, and the rides. My son and I had an amazing day!! Such a fun experience
