I was dying for steak and hadn't taken myself out for one in years so thought I'd try Malone's Steak and Seafood. I ordered the 10 ounce sirloin, which comes with string beans and mashed potatoes. I asked them to double the order of string beans and leave out the mashed potatoes. The string beans were definitely not fresh, they were overcooked and they were not a double order, more watery than buttery. The steak had no fat in it or on it, which is a negative, however, it did have plenty of spices on it, which failed to enhance its flavor, which would've been difficult to do probably in any case. I ordered my steak, medium rare, more on the rare side than on the medium. I would say it was more medium than rare, and actually tasted as if it had been very well done, although it had a consistent pink color. The steak was not at all juicy, had the texture of what I imagine cardboard would be, and tasted mostly of the spices on its crust. As I said, there was no fat content, lack of flavor and juiciness if you're going to spend nearly $40 on a piece of meat I would suggest going elsewhere.
The decor is very dark, and I could not see my rolled up cutlery in the black napkin on top of the black bar. The staff was very nice the people who greet you at the door and say goodbye to you are very pleasant, the bartenders, both male and female were also very friendly. The fellow sitting next to me grits and shrimp and he said they were delicious so if I go back there, I may try that, however, I will never have another steak at this "pretend" steak house. I was really hoping for a tasty, juicy piece of meat, Malone's was a bad choice sorry to say.
