This place still gets lit and the drinks are fantastic as usual after all these years. I must say the service is good, and the vibe is vibing. The music is popping, and the sound hits your soul. I recommend arriving there early for first timer like around 1030ish. Otherwise, you'll like be waiting 45 to 1 hour. Late crowd, but l can assure you. Mama isn't a Lion for now reason.

Ok so i havent been out in a while and herd of this place through some Randoms at another bar and I gotta say compared to alot of other places the staff and audience were both very nice which was weird it wasn't hard to talk to anybody or start a conversation or ask for assistance I had fun. And can't wait to come back and a huge plus for me was the bathroom was clean and stocked so they get extra kudos for that

Came here for the first time last night and won’t be coming back. The Asian guy who runs the door is literally the rudest service person I have ever encountered in LA. I was in a group with half women and half men. After waiting in line for a long time they let in all the women and then refused to let in our guy friends. When I went outside to see what was going on, the Asian door guy yelled at me to go back inside. They want lines to create the illusion of buzz but inside it wasn’t crowded at all. When everyone finally got in, one of the guys tried to order a beer and they only had IPAs. This place is really not special enough to deal with all this drama. Tons of other fun spots in LA with better drinks and better vibes.

Several of my friends and I had their phones stolen from here. As another commenter pointed out, we were all victims of pick-pocketing. The security here was incredibly unhelpful and rude, most likely the bar itself is in on this scam. Come here if you want to be robbed and treated like garbage if not literally go anywhere else, you get better customer service at a McDonald's than at this location. I only gave it one star because I could not give it a lower star. Stay away unless you want to be a victim for some scam that sends your phones to Hong Kong to be stripped for parts and pay the bar that is facilitating these crimes for the privilege, then by all means this is the place to be. I am obviously not the first nor last victim to have this happen to and based on the other reviews Mama Lion is doing absolutely nothing to stop it. Because of this I think it is reasonable to assume that they are facilitating this scam so it does not make sense to give them your money. If you have any sense, you would stay away from here.

Came in on a Tuesday night because a friend of mine had informed me that they had an amazing happy hour. I never even knew that Mama lion was more than just a social lounge and that they served food. They had amazing specials for the happy hour drinks. I believe they were $6. I got a old fashioned for that price and it was great. My favorite dishes had to be: -Fresh Handmade Guacamole, served with Taro chips: the guac was amazing. It tasted super fresh and I loved how the chips were healthy too because they were made of Taro. & -Crispy Brussel Sprouts, crispy garlic with a slow cooked egg: Love love love how this tasted. It surprisingly went really well with the soft egg. Overall I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing all the food here was!

we went to mama lion last night for drinks and apps. immediately fell in love with this beautifully designed vintage swirled in with modern location. with beautiful painted murals to chandeliers hanging everywhere, this spot definitely delivers the eye candy goods! the apps we got were delicious and the cocktails were stellar!

Got a table on Sat night and as much as it was fun... now im dealing with a transaction being charged twice bc there were some issues with payment. So im messaging them now and hopefully will be cleared without problem. Until then I will leave my 1 star review

This is one of my favorite clubs in ktown, and here's why. Ambiance: Classy restaurant by day, popular upscale club by night. You may not notice it from the outside, but once you step inside, you're surrounded by gold decor, elegant chandeliers, and velvety curtains. The walls are made of brick, which can be a bit too much of a contrast for some, but when it comes to working with what they've got, they do it well; you don't really notice it when it's dark anyways. As for the crowd, it can be a blend of age groups sometimes, but most people there are mid-20s to 30s. The age may skew a bit older though, if we're talking about tables. Regardless of age though, everyone dresses appropriately for an upscale club here. Service: I'll be breaking this down into 3 main categories of staff that everyone will directly interact with - bartenders, music, and security. Bartenders - I've really only interacted with Michael and Marcello (more on him later), but they both seem incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Not only does Michael know how to make the best cocktails, but he has an impressive roster of custom mocktails at his disposal too. Would highly recommend getting a drink from him. Marcello (aka Cello) is now actually the manager, but prior to his promotion, he was one of the bartenders. This bodes well for Mama Lion, as his experience working behind the bar will likely transfer over to understanding how to run it. Music: Any good club will have a live dj, and that's certainly no exception at Mama Lion. I almost always go there exclusively on Saturdays, because DJMissNinja is the resident dj those nights. She is absolutely amazing, and knows how to seamlessly integrate a variety of song genres; rap, hip hop, edm, and even kpop! An unfortunate side effect of her expertise in djing though is that there's almost always a big crowd on Saturdays, but that just goes to show you how great of a dj she is. Security: When I talk to them, the security team always seem friendly, but firm; it's their job to enforce the rules. If you respect them, then they'll respect you. For the most part, Mama Lion follows the typical club dress attire: no athletic clothing (sweats, jerseys, athletic shorts, etc), no hats, no flip flops, etc. Security WILL deny people if they do not abide by those rules. Food: I've never eaten here before, so I can't speak on it.

Bouncer was extremely rude, obnoxious, and unprofessional. I understand that it is a club and perhaps my expectations for friendliness should be low, but I've never experienced this treatment at other clubs in ktown.

I've heard rlly good things about mama lion, so wanted to give it a try! Let's just say Mama lion is now my go-to spot whenever i visit LA. Me and my friends had the time of our life haha We were greeted by Cello, who was so sweet and nice! Ive also heard many good things about the food here, so definitely will give it a try next time. It's pretty spacious here and the drinks are good, definitely recommend:)

This is the "Go To" spot before any show at the Wiltern, look no further. The best quality food/drinks, the best ambiance, and by far the best service around. Ashley, Rita, and Jose are all top notch! My wife and I have been going here for many years, and we are always looking forward to our next visit at Mama Lion.

Last night we pulled into this lounge for my friends 23rd bday party! She booked a table for bottle service & we danced the night away. The lounge bar was very clean and great services, our bottle girl was super sweet and always checking in on us. Aside from the bomb drinks, the music here was AMAZINGG! They play such a diverse range & project the videos it got so lit. At first I thought it would just be a cute sit down vibe but before I knew it we were all on the dance floor going hard!! I do wish the dance floor had been bigger & the crowd of people there were more diverse but overall a great night. I had never heard of this spot before but I will definitely be going back. It's a cute spot if you're celebrating your bday, such great vibes!!

Are you looking for a favorite bar to meet people? Mama lion is by far my favorite. It's a good blend of age groups...music is always in point...and the bartenders are the best! Ask for Rita, Michael, Ashley, or Albert....they will always take care of you. I've been to a few other bars and clubs in the ktown area but I always come back to mama lions.

Great for those that enjoy a 35+ year old crowd, girls that want free drinks, or group of girls who want to take shelter - it's relatively easy for a group of girls to get in with the promoter and make a connection. I visited with a group of girls as twentysomethings and felt out of place the entire time, so I wouldn't suggest here for that age group. I will say it was easy to get free drinks though if you know how to use that to your advantage. We were able to get vodka shots at a table and I don't know what brand it was but it tasted CHEAP. It had a really strong aftertaste and a very strong burning sensation. I'm glad we didn't pay for it, but if you're thinking about it, just skip it. What I want to take the time to rave about is their water dispenser outside the women's bathroom. I HATE bars and clubs that don't offer guests free drinking water. Mama Lion was a refreshing (no pun intended) change because of that. If you come here, make sure to use it and stay hydrated! The security I will say are a bit wack. There's a hallway area outside the bathroom towards the center bar where I understand they want clear for the bottle girls. What I do not appreciate is being pushed by security to move and yelled at. I can't move if there's physically no room for me to move. Vibes wise it was pretty empty when we went at 10:30 which was surprising and it took a good amount of time before more people came in. I wouldn't find myself going back that easily, but I can see the appeal.

Michael was the sweetest 10/10 i got a midori sour and it was DELICIOUSSSS its super hype here with kpop boomin and hip hop hits

Upscale bar for fancy cocktails. Great ambiance if you are looking for a nice drink with friends or colleagues. Bartenders are super knowledgeable, passionate, and know their stuff. Good service. Learned a lot about the cocktails from the bartenders who make them with pride. Overall it's worth stopping by for a drink if you are in the area!

Mama lion is an exquisite club in KTown. The atmosphere and overall vibe is amazing. The bartenders: Ashley, Albert, and Mike are the best in LA for hospitality and drinks! Highly recommend!

We came here on a Friday night around midnight to celebrate a friend's birthday and the line wasn't too long. There was probably only one group ahead of us. When we got inside (group of 4 girls), it was pretty packed. Immediately, random groups of men and their friends were pulling my friends to come to their booths or suggesting to take shots with them. Some were kind of touchy and aggressive. We ordered vodka red bulls and tequila sunrises at the bar; the drinks were standard and not too strong. The music was good-- a mix of hip hop and rnb. 30 minutes into the club, my friend realizes that her phone is missing and her bag is wide open which it wasn't before. We spent a large portion of the night trying to call the phone and track it via find my friends. We checked with the hosts, security, and looped around the venue numerous times with no luck. The location was still showing inside the club until it moved a block away and then stopped updating (I'm assuming whoever took the phone turned it off as it would go straight to voicemail too). Just be careful of your belongings for pickpocketers in the club. Overall, solid vibes and place to check out, but the stolen phone did sour our experience.

Call me old but I thought Mama Lion used to serve food as a restaurant and stuff? Maybe it still does but nowadays I see it mostly as a nightclub for all you folks in ktown. Did that stop me from checking it out on a weekend? Nope. So the biggest plus is that there's seldom a cover charge so just show up, wait in line, walk right in. The space itself is a little intimate, it's not huge but still sizable enough for you to get your groove on. Music and drinks are pretty typical for any nightclub with the occasional trending kpop songs. Course like any club in LA, prices are upcharged, and tables will drain your wallet quickly, otherwise this is a fun time if you come out with friends. Not much else to say, dress accordingly, don't be a dick, and enjoy the night.

My experience at Mama Lion was great to celebrate a friend's birthday and new job on 8/9/2024! We reserved a table and received bottle service, however, the best service came from Michael, the bartender! Michael was welcoming, attentive, helpful, and very kind when I ordered drinks from the bar. Michael consistently respected all patrons while being a genuinely nice guy, which made me continually walk to the bar for our additional drinks, which were made very well. Thanks, Michael! -J

My experience here with my girlfriends was tons of fun thanks to the incredible team that works here. Service was incredible, the bartenders were so kind and everything was super clean. We felt safe and the music was great. Shoutout to the manager Cello, you made our night!

Amazing bouncer and management overall, with it being downtown LA there is bound to be pickpockets and thieves, but after I alerted one of the managers he started doing door checks for everyone leaving, and managed to find who took my and a couple of other peoples phone. 10/10 would come back here again

A very fun nightclub/bar that plays all the hottest hits and kpop music! We got a table by the dj and had a great time there. Only thing I will mention is many people were dancing on top of the seats but when my group did it the security guard was yelling at us.

Whether you're looking for a fun night out with friends, or a place to celebrate a special occasion, this establishment has it all. The staff is extremely friendly, attentive, and always ready to go above and beyond to ensure that every guest has a fantastic time. From the bartenders crafting delicious cocktails to the security team ensuring a safe environment, every member of the team plays a crucial role in making the experience top-notch. Shout out to Limo and Michael they will take care of you and are the best in the business!!!

Security at the front sucks and denies entry for random reasons. They wouldn't let my friend in because his "arms were showing too much". There were other dudes in actual tank tops inside the bar. Wdym? This was after they had already seen him when we went to the front and spoke to the main dude directly about bottle service. This place isn't even that great for them to act like this. Been here several times and this was the last time for sure.

My favorite lounge in LA, hands down. Door- the most professional, helpful and courteous crew I've ever seen, led by superstar Tyson. Bar- Regardless who you order from, you can't go wrong. Micheal, Ashley, Rita, Albert are all ready to mix the best drinks. They're the friendliest bartenders you will ever meet. DJs always play the best songs, energizing the crowd. Atmosphere is also just right- lights, size, layout, energy is perfect and classy. Management- Previous general mgr Deniz was amazing and set the place up for success. Cello took over, and is at least as succesful in connecting with people. Highly recommend this gem in ktown.

We came here for dine la in fall 2022! The food was absolutely delicious (although the garlic noodles were a bit buttery for my taste) I was saddened to see these dishes aren't regulars on the menu since the spaghetti squash was quite possibly my favorite dine la entree this year!! Their Caesar salad also made me want to grill/broil my own lettuce in salad! I'd never considered that before trying and falling in love with their lettuce :) There is a valet around the corner near the axe throwing place for pretty cheap (~$3) Overall, I want to return but none of their regular dishes sound quite as lovely as their dine la dishes were!

Came for drinks with my girl. It wasn't packed at all since we came a little earlier. It started getting busier later in the night and once the crowd works it's way in, the bouncer comes in and takes my hat and takes the barstools that we were sitting on while we were still drinking. Apparently they had to clear the area or whatever explanation he gave. We left shortly after to go to another bar where we can actually comfortable sit and finish our drinks.

No good. Waiting in line for about an hour and we were just standing there and the bouncer said very rudely "don't bother trying to get in, looking like that." He was standing there causing no issues at all. Just very rude and could have told us nicely and we could have understood that. Don't recommend waisting your time here. Far better places around with better service.

Music is amazing, the club itself is really good. No complaints about the club. My main complaint are the people there. People (even girls) will just keep pushing you. Please say excuse me and stop moving around so much. I see the same people pushing me to get through and it's really annoying and ruins the vibe. I get that it's super packed, but just stay in one place and dance.

What a terrible night club: First, plan on waiting 90 minutes in line just to enter a dead and empty night room. The drinks are atrociously overpriced. A vodka cranberry came out to $30 and it barely had any alcohol in it. The ambience and music is rather poor. Felt like I was stuck in a tik tok remix blasting shitty drake. The bouncers and staff are very pretentious and will make you feel out of place unless you are wearing all your designer clothes all at once. If you are looking for a fun time, I'd suggest doing to over K town bars and clubs. You won't waste as much time in line waiting for drinks and will actually get to socialize more. Also mama lion was a complete sausage fest!!! Guys beware!

Pulled up with a friend from out of state waited for an hour and had all our female friends go in first and when we got to the front of the line at like 1:05am and said they aint accepting no one. I guess we ugly.

Garbage bar with spineless losers for bouncers. I was drinking a kombucha in line and they kicked us out for it, even though I was going to throw it away before going in. It was also my birthday so you'd think they'd let it slide, but I guess they had to tell on me to mama lion. Bitches, imagine crying over a drink that has like 1-2% alcohol in it cause it'll ruin the look and reputation of your dumb bar. Don't go to this place and watch Lion King instead.

Mama lion does tend to get busy on the weekend so make sure to either come early. DJ played a great mixture of hip hop, K-pop and EDM. My favorite part, besides the energy, was Albert the bartender. Albert was quick and gave great service.

Super fun club! Came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday! Security was definitely on point ! Making sure everyone is safe and everyone is having fun ! Love all the music they were playing. Bartender was extremely nice ! They know what they're mixingggg hahaha ! Didn't have food but the alcohol was good ! Would come back again !!!
