"At Mama Mezze in Nomad, the owner of La Pecora Bianca and the chef behind Balaboosta are going the Eastern-Mediterranean route, with dishes like green goddess falafel and honey-harissa jumbo shrimp. The window-lined spot has a citrus tree parked in the middle, and their cocktail offerings include the obligatory espresso martini (this time with tahini)." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

Simply amazing. Everything was delicious, servings generous; and the service was kind, communicative, and not rushed at all. Had a truly great time.

Great place. Staff is 5/5. chicken sandwich might be best in the city. I took one bite and forgot to take a picture.

Was happy to be welcome at this place on one of their first opening days. Mediterranean cuisine, was happy to see mashed potato on the menu, good portions a little bit even more than I expected. All food was tasty, recommend to try their humus! I am waiting for their lunch opening. Will be happy to taste more. Despite the opening, I was welcomed well and food came on time. 👏 congratulations with opening

Yelp
Walked past this restaurant and added it to my list. Very beautiful ambience. The menu leans more towards Moroccan influence vs just standard Mediterranean. The dips were amazing. The bread was killer. The fish stew was bursting with full on spiced tomato flavor. The kebab was good. Overall, all the food was pretty damn good. The only con is the sound proofing of the restaurant. Came here on a busy night and it was hella loud. But otherwise would still come back. A good place for a data or a group dinner or even brunch. As long as it's not toooooo loud and busy.

Yelp
We ordered a lot of food for two people and we really liked majority of the items. My favorite was definitely the feta crème appetizer. It was super simple but really well done. The cauliflower dish and zucchini chips were pretty good as well and surprisingly didn't taste too fried and oil as I was expecting. The falafel pita was also super soft and the flavors were really good. My friend enjoyed that one the most. The ladke had insane reviews so bought that bit it tasted pretty similar to an Indian dish so we weren't that blown away by it. The sauce pairing could have also been tart instead of sweet to make it more balanced. Overall worth a go.

Yelp
Came for dinner as a group of 4 and had an excellent meal. The restaurant is nicely decorated, full of light with a Mediterranean feel. They have a good amount of staff, it just took awhile to get our drinks and to get the ice we requested, but very minor. The food here is the star. We ordered the spiced beef hummus, cigars, carrots, falafel, arayes, salmon skewers, crispy latke, lamb tagine, short rib and spicy cod. While everything was tasty, the favorites were the arayes, the latke, the spicy cod and the short rib. The rainbow carrots were not far behind. The arayes were absolutely delicious (similar to a middle eastern burger, but juicier and more flavorful). 4 come in an order and I could have eaten all four myself. The latke was shockingly good and I am no stranger to good latkes. The spicy cod was incredible, I loved the light fish paired with the fresh roasted tomatoes and the level of spice was perfect. The short rib was unbelievably good, tender, flavorful (slightly sweet, savory) and is up there with some of the best short rib I have eaten. The mashed sweet potatoes the short rib came with were a bit spicy for those who are spice sensitive. The spiced beef hummus was good, but we have had better hummus elsewhere and I would not necessarily feel the need to order it again, same goes for the cigars. The falafel were tasty and I would recommend them. The salmon skewer was good, the rice it comes with is great, but I would try the beef or shrimp next time as I was not wowed by the salmon (though it was cooked perfectly). The lamb tagine was alright, I was underwhelmed by it and would not recommend it given all of the other fabulous dishes here. Portion wise, we probably could have done without the tagine as we were very full by the end of the meal. The prices are reasonable for the neighborhood and serving sizes. A really fantastic restaurant that we will definitely be going back to regularly!

Yelp
I am a big fan of Mama Mezze's sister restaurant, La Pechora Bianca, so I was very excited to try this. First, the restaurant is located in a great location. The street is closed for outdoor dining and it is a great space for a great meal on a nice day. It is also close to Madison Square Park, which is an added bonus. Now to the food, it was sensational. Genuinely one of my favorite meals in a while. I had the Araya to start and it was so good. The beef was so flavorful and the accompanying white and green sauces made an already great app even better. It also had a slight crunch to it which was a great bonus! For my entree, I had the lemon chicken skewers, also tremendous! Chicken was soft and moist, the rice was AMAZING and the veggies were also very good. The sauces from the Araya were also in my entree which made it even better. Lastly, the service was sensational. Jhon, our waiter, was attentive and helpful when we asked for recommendations. One of the best service experiences I've ever had. One of the standout qualities of this restaurant.

Yelp
Great new Mediterranean by the La Pecora Bianca team. The food, service and atmosphere are all terrific. Definitely a step up from their Italian steakhouse (Lupeto) that was previously in this location. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Went to Mama Mezze for brunch with a few friends on a Sunday and had a great meal. We shared a bunch of plates, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and nicely portioned--especially the dips. We had the mushroom hummus (generous chunks of mushroom and caramelized onions), the whipped feta (sweet and rich with Aleppo honey), the eggplant and zucchini chips with tzatziki, and the Mediterranean chopped salad with tahini. The salad had great flavor but was chopped a little too fine--gave off more salsa vibes than expected. We added falafel to that, and it was delicious and moist. We also went through two servings of their fresh-baked bread--warm, soft, and perfect with everything. Only note: there wasn't a crudité option for the dips, which would be a great addition to the menu. Overall, a great meal and a lovely spot. I'm already looking forward to going back to try more dishes!

Yelp
Great choice for a Girls Night, as the menu is perfect for sharing. Loved the Arayes, Latkes, Hummus and Cauliflower. Desserts deserve a special shout out - both the Nutella Babka Sundae and Mama Loves You (their version of an icebox cake) are huge and some of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Vibe is a bit corporate, but fun...feels like you're transported to the Mediterranean for an evening.

Yelp
My friends and I walked in yesterday to see what bar availability they had and the hostesses were super kind in doing some rearranging to get us to fit at the bar. Service was attentive and wonderful. We got the rainbow carrots, the fried latke, hummus, and the chicken skewers. Each dish was super delicious, flavorful, and very fresh. I loved the acidity of the carrots and the labneh and spices that went with it. The latke was the best latke i have had in a long time! So many crispy bits, super flavorful on the inside with the perfect ratio of onions and potatoes, and the apple aioli paired perfectly. Skewers were pretty good but the rice that came with it was the real star! Can't wait to come back!!!

Yelp
Not FODMAP friendly! We just came here for dinner and the only low FODMAP options are the fries and the coconut dessert. The options if your only allergy is alium are those, plus the broccoli and the feta. You can't have any of the proteins or the mains. What annoyed us the most was that the waitress acted like this was fine and kept offering me dessert and a drink. I can't just have dessert and a drink for dinner, and if I'm going somewhere else for a real dinner I'd better get going and I'll have dessert and a drink at the other place. It felt like she was just trying to get a check out of us so she could get a tip. Plus, we had denoted my allergies in the reservation notes so it was disappointing that they did not contact us in advance to warn us the way other restaurants often do and they were not prepared with the marked up menu when we got there. They have a long ways to go in terms of service and accommodating dietary restrictions if they are to continue operating as a restaurant. The inside was pretty though! I liked the tree.

Yelp
Decent food, we've all had better at other places but the reason I'm posting this review is because upon completing payment for the bill via QR code you will be asked for a review of your meal. I rated as below: Service: 5 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Food: 4 Stars Quality for your money: 3 Stars The SECOND I completed the review and got up to leave my entire table was cornered by the manager on duty. We blocked us into our booth and hounded with "what's wrong? I saw you left a 3 star review" it was hideously abrasive and all around very unprofessional, the energy in which he confronted was NOT helpful. Very strange experience. If you have anything other than a 5 Star review, make sure you complete it AFTER you exit the restaurant!

Yelp
This is the perfect place for a date with a friend. From the cute plates & menus, to the tree that is in the middle of the restaurant. ADORABLE! Our server was so enthusiastic when asked what her favorite dishes were. To start we got the mushroom hummus and whipped feta. HIGHLY recommend, I am gluten free so it was nice they offered to bring roasted veggies for me to dip. For entree's I got the lemon chicken skewers and my friend got the branzino.

Yelp
By far the worst restaurant experience I have in NYC. Every dish has onions and they cannot make anything without them. If you don't like onions do not go to this restaurant. The chicken dish someone else order was cold. You can't be in business in this town with this kind of service. 1 million thumbs down.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, quick service and the food was delicious! Got the falafel sandwich and fries.

Yelp
Food was delicious but I may not be used to NYC restaurants because it was SO loud that I had problems hearing the conversation within my group.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, great neighborhood spot. I live in the neighborhood and I have seen this space change between many restaurants. This is my favorite so far. The food was clean, well thought out, and good. The service was impressive, especially for it being so new. While there are always improvements to be made, I am already satisfied with the flow of service and hospitality. They provide outdoor seating which creates an attractive ambiance and a great alternative to the already lovely interior. Additionally, it is not fair to post reviews that are entirely biased towards one's personal needs. Harming a restaurant for irrational reasons is morally wrong and selfish. If you require a certain diet, go somewhere you know for sure will accommodate it. A restaurant is not obliged to change all their operations in order to fulfill your needs.

Yelp
Great addition to the Nomad area! Visited their opening week and were very impressed all around. Service was very friendly and efficient. Cocktails were very nice and the food was fantastic. We ordered a number of mezze that we shared: the zucchini and eggplant, whipped feta and a chopped salad - all were outstanding. Additionally added the branzino and chicken skewers - it's hard to make chicken very exciting but the skewers were really flavorful and juicy. For dessert we had their take on a tiramisu, which was wonderful. The ambience is also very inviting - bright and airy with a beautiful orange tree in the middle of the dining space - very much reminded us of dining in the outside courtyard of a Greek taverna. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Food was fantastic!! Service was 5 stars. Ambiance nice. These place is great! The carrot appetizer was so different and delish. The salmon skewers was crispy and perfect

Yelp
Loved the Levantine Spritz, Whipped Feta & Zucchini Chips. Ambience was fun and lively. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
probably the most expensive martinis in NoMad. the mezzes were ok and the schnitzel was good.
