Where to Eat in Athens, Home to the University of Georgia

"Mama’s Boy is one of those places that requires advance planning. The Oak Street location draws a throng of students in the morning, even during the summer. Although, it’s adjacent to Dudley Park and the Oconee Greenway, so there’s at least something to do during a wait for a table. Pin the blame for the wait on the biscuits — a Mama’s Boy biscuit could sit in a paper bag for an hour and still come out delectable. The remaining breakfast and lunch options are solid, but every Athenian needs to taste a Mama’s Boy biscuit sandwich at least once." - Sarra Sedghi

"Breakfast Just Like Mama Made When you're a broke college student in the town of Athens, Georgia, there are few occasions when you can rationalize eating outside the dining hall. Splurges are reserved for special occasions, visits from family and days when you just want something delicious. Mama's Boy Restaurant is ideal for all three. It's a madhouse on weekends for brunch, so if you can I recommend going during the week. You may still have to wait for a table, but once you get your food you won't even remember life before Mama's Boy. If your belly is up for the task, order the Georgia Peach French Toast, pictured above, and an order of biscuits and gravy. Sure, the restaurant has lighter options, like a tofu stir fry and low calorie breakfast, but I say "go big or go home" or else it's back to the dining hall for you. Mama's Boy serves coffee from local roaster Jittery Joe's to keep you moving throughout the day. The diner backs up onto the North Oconee River Greenway, so you can walk off your carbs."

We were in Athens, Georgia a few weeks ago and stopped here for breakfast! Everything was delicious and the huge cinnamon roll was amazing! We felt a little foolish when we first came in bc we didn’t know how it worked- you order first, pay for it and then they seat you! Who knew?? Maybe you could have a sign out to tell us newbies how it works! The expectation is that you tip when you pay without even tasting the food! That’s a new one for me!😜😂 All the junk that is to the side of the restaurant could be easily cleaned up and put behind a fence! A little unsightly but the food was delicious! 😄

Google
Your average run of the mill breakfast place. Great for students on a budget. I guess. Food is fairly decent. Love the 80s music playlist. Still serving water in a plastic cup. Might be more environmentally friendly to use glassware. Ordered two eggs over easy Potatoes, patty and sourdough. You order with the lady upfront and then pick your place. Food came out pretty quick. Coffee was actually very tasty. Lots of parking space right around the corner.

Mama’s Boy is a great breakfast brand. Their biscuits sandwich was authentic with various options. I liked their eggs the most. The biscuits and gravy tasted fantastic and authentic. Their service was amazing and WiFi was fast. Free spicy sauce and strawberry jam were provided.

Google
Hands down the absolute best breakfast I’ve had! The grits are so creamy and delicious they almost melt in your mouth. The biscuits are fluffy and the epitome of a southern biscuit. The bacon has a wonderful smoky flavor and wasn’t too crisp. The special was scrumptious…all the ingredients together created a spicy & savory flavor. By far one of the best things I’ve ever ate! Service was spectacular! This is a must try! Can’t wait to go back!

On a recent Sunday visit to Mama's Boy, the overall experience didn’t quite match the expectations. The prices felt a bit high for the portion sizes and food quality for what was served, it just didn’t feel like the best value. The restaurant was a little too loud and cramped for my taste. It might be a better fit for those who enjoy a busy, energetic brunch spot, but I was hoping for something a bit more relaxed. I can see why some people love it, but for me, it wasn’t quite the right fit. Worth checking out once, but probably not a regular.

Google
Came highly recommended from a friend. Great service and breakfast with banana nut bread was the best. Just a great start to the day.

Google
Great vittles here! It’s a restaurant with counter service. You will check in with the hostess outside, move inside to the counter to place your order. After you order and pay, the cashier gives you a tent-stand with a number to place on your table so they can bring your order out. PARKING IS LIMITED (8 spots out front) BUT, I parked in the back for the “park and trails” and was told that’s perfectly OKAY. They do have outside seating for warmer day.

Google
The food was tasty. The salmon biscuit had some very crisp (not soggy) salmon meat. I love that they have a kids menu! You even get real Crayola crayons. The only downside is they ask for a tip before you’re seated.

Yelp
The place is always crowded and the food is the reason why! Wait staff are helpful and pleasant and keep the pace moving. The food is comfort food at its best!

Yelp
I'm sorry Athens, but this ain't all that. My first trip to Athens after years of yearning to visit, I followed the glowing reviews straight to Mama's Boy. Ordered the cinnamon roll and found it to be uninspiring. Not delivered hot, not very tasty and not unique in any way. Wondered if a frozen store bought might have been better. Moved on to breakfast sandwiches - we ordered 3. Sent all 3 back :-( since the eggs were cold (not warm mind you, and certainly not hot). Got no apology or explanation. No problem - stuff happens. I get it. Minutes later, replacements arrived. Fortunately they had warm eggs this time (yay!) but the sausage wasn't warm enough to melt the cheese and the biscuits weren't warm at all. Is this what Athens thinks is a great breakfast experience? Suggest you raise your standards y'all. The rest of the world serves breakfast sandwiches warm or hot, and countless restaurants knock cinnamon rolls out of the ballpark. And while I'm at it, my Nashville roots have me biased against square biscuits that seem all the rage in Athens, Georgia. I know it's a small thing, but baking biscuits individually rather than baked and cut up like a lasagna makes each one have layers of flakiness that "squares" can't achieve. Ask your grandma, she'll set you straight. Pizzas and biscuits, with rare exceptions, deserve to be round. Finally, why have cool light fixtures to spruce the place up, but you have a half empty Walmart metal shelving unit in the middle of the restaurant as an extension of the main counter? Really? With cleaning supplies and T-shirts all lumped together? Does this mean that I can buy a roll of paper towels to go with my spray cleaner and Mama's Boy T-shirt? It's visually loathsome and senseless. I SO wanted to love this place. Scoured the reviews before enthusiastically coming here. But at least on Sunday 2/16/25, this place couldn't get it together and seemed poorly managed.

Yelp
Wanted something yummy and local during our first visit to Athens and found Mama's Boy. The parking lot is small and so it took some time to find a spot but only had to wait an additional 15/20 minutes before being seated. The inside was so comfy cozy and still showed the old charm of the house. The place was bustling with energy and all the tables inside and outside were full during our entire visit. I'm an iced coffee gal and this was one of the few places we found that offered any and it was delicious. In our group the following things were also ordered: Bacon, egg and cheese scrambler with a side of fruit, Sausage, egg and cheddar biscuit, and a half order of the Georgia Peach French Toast with a side of bacon. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was great. I am so glad we found this place.
google avatar

Leah N.

Yelp
went here for brunch, the service was great! You order at the counter then seat yourself, and the food and drinks came out quick, and all coffees had free refills. Speaking of coffee, the iced coffee was amazing! (sugar free vanilla latte) the vegetable scramble was delicious, the creamy goat cheese complemented the eggs nicely. The homemade hot sauce was also great. Only complaint is that the sourdough bread wasn't very good. My brother got the biscuit and said he liked it, so I would recommend ordering that over the sourdough- you NEED a vesicle for their delicious homemade jam.

Amber R.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by here for a quick breakfast and we were in love! The "mom and pop" diner atmosphere was exactly the type of experience we enjoy. The service was friendly and quick. We left with happy bellies and hearts. I will absolutely be back to try more menu items.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
GREAT home cooking and excellent service. Seriously, none of us could finish our meals; this might be the first occasion when I've taken leftovers home from breakfast. Cozy diner atmosphere, but not quiet. I'd go back anytime.
google avatar

Shivi P.

Yelp
Great food. Would get here early and be prepared to struggle with parking and wait a long time - especially on the weekends. Rest assured 100% worth the wait! Best biscuits and gravy in town. Their seasonal jams are the perfect balance of tart and sweet. My favorite has to be their pulled pork bowl or peach French toast. Great veggie options, fair gluten free options. Must go if you're in town for a game! If you're okay waiting a little bit, eating in a slightly crammed area, and struggling with parking just a bit I promise you Thai place won't disappoint!
google avatar

Jacquie B.

Yelp
Service was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our breakfast, though the Georgia peach French toast could have been warmer. Cute decor and the wait for a table wasn't too bad.

Yelp
I reviewed Mama's Boy shortly after I graduated about a year and a half ago, and made the point to note that the restaurant "hasn't settled to resting on her laurels." Folks, it pains me to say it, but that is no longer true. The Mama's Boy on Oak St. that I knew and love during undergrad is gone. This Mama's Boy serves their coffee in paper cups, their water in plastic cups, and sports an interior decor that's reminiscent of a middle school cafeteria. The diamond patterned seating layout? Gone. The cute Mama's Boy coffee mugs? Gone. Tablecloths? Yep, gone! Even the service fell off. All three of the staff members we interacted with were rushed and not friendly at all, and the kid taking our order just seemed perpetually confused. I'm giving two stars because the food was still good, but just about everything else was not. I understand that there's a lot of breakfast competition in town now, but I think Mama's Boy should have stuck to their higher-end brand and kept it classy. This experience felt like a debasement of the Mama's Boy brand.
google avatar

Megan Y.

Yelp
I have been to Mama's Boy twice now. As a foodie, I always have to try the top-ranked eateries in new towns/cities I visit. After reviewing various sources and confirming with my UGA friend, Mama's Boy made the cut. My first visit was mid-November prior to Thanksgiving. I got the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Scrambler with Fruit and Biscuit as well as the Georgia Peach French Toast. My second one was this past Saturday, where I got the Salmon Cakes Benedict and Bacon, Egg, and Cheddar Biscuit order pictured below. For beverages, last time I got a coffee and this time a sweet tea. I also tried my friend's cheese grits. I loved everything. The biscuit is definitely pretty hearty so if you can't finish don't feel bad about taking it to-go. I thought it was nice the server gave me a water cup even though I didn't request one specifically. Both times I had a short wait but it wasn't crazy. I like that they are counter and self-seat service, I think it makes the experience more seamless/efficient. If you need to wait, there are some trails in the Oconee River Park next to the restaurant you can stroll through. I need to come back to try the rest of the menu, but especially the Pimento Cheese Burger, Breakfast Taco Plate, Pulled Pork Bowl, and Cinnamon Bun.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Cinnamon comes out of a bag. Biscuits and gravy desperately need black pepper and seasoning. For southern food this is was extremely underwhelming
google avatar

Debra S.

Yelp
I was in Athens visiting my son. We went here for brunch. Cute local place with good breakfast food! The back room had a pretty view of the greenway. The parking lot is small but we were able to park there. We had a little bit of a wait. You order at the counter and seat yourself. The breakfast was excellent! My son said the bbq was good but would probably get breakfast next time.
google avatar

Beverly O.

Yelp
Had a good pulled pork sandwich and fries there. The strawberry lemonade was delicious! Service was good and friendly. I should have gotten something from the breakfast menu instead though! Those fluffy biscuits they kept bringing out made my mouth water! The dining room is casual and they have outdoor dining as well.

Yelp
Love this place. Finally - folks that really know how to scramble egg white well done and make them tasty. Great service, friendly peeps. Get there early and you won't have to e

Yelp
I was driving through Athens and stopped for breakfast and found this place. Nice place close to the college not too fancy great for a quick bite. Food came out quick, and was presented well. Ask about the specials. I ordered the fried chicken and eggs Benedict with grits and fried potatoes on the side. The food was large enough for two people and the grits were the best I have ever had. You have to order at the front counter and you get a number and someone brings you the food, the person who took my order did tell me that they have full table service but after I was brought my food no one ever camcheck on me. I don't feel that's a bad thing I did not need checking on but. If you are going to make me pay before I get my meal don't expect me to tip you. How should I know your service deserves it?
google avatar

Claire H.

Yelp
I've always passed by this place many times while being in Athens, and finally had the time to stop by for lunch. You order at the counter by the entrance, pay, and are given utensils and your table number (you pick where to sit and they find you by the number). Food didn't take long nor did my drinks. I ordered the salmon cakes benedict which comes with some greens and a biscuit (it's huge!!). The flavors from the salmon was amazing, and paired so well with everything. Also, as someone who lives for hot sauce, they have their own and pairs so well with the benedict! Just be aware of how busy it can get especially on weekends, and the lack of parking spots.

Oak T.

Yelp
Overall, this place hits pretty good. Think it has great fun menu of fab southern experience, and it fun place to eat. Slay queens so fab slay fab
google avatar

Bob J.

Yelp
Best breakfast I've ever had! The Bacon Egg and Cheese scramble was unbelievable. The bacon was phenomenal and made for the perfect combination of flavor. I'm not usually a big fan of grits, but the cheese grits were so flavorful and amazing. The biscuit was so fluffy and tasty as well. I tried a bite of the tofu, and it was amazingly seasoned. The service was great as well. The employee at the front desk was so kind and the food came out in minutes.

Teri M.

Yelp
I really don't give 1 star reviews but.... I ordered a to go and the girl at the register told me I could wait inside or outside and they would call me. I decided to wait outside. As I watched people who sat on the patio, who clearly came after me being served, I went inside to check on my simple order of a biscuit with sausage eggs and cheese and a side of bacon. It was sitting on the to go shelf. The receipt on the bag clearly shows "Here". I'm sure I would have sat there all day if I hadn't gone in because the girls inside were just chatting away. Also, as you can see on the receipt it says "crispy" for the bacon. Sadly it was limp and undercooked, but burnt on the edges. Also, for over $3 you only get 2 small pieces. Even though it's a small take out order, they want you to tip. I did tip, but I wish I could take it back!

Yelp
Great food Great service Will definitely come back when I'm in town We even got a T-shirt

Yelp
Really great spot for brunch! We were in town for orientation and decided to grab some food before the session kicked off. It was the middle of the week so we walked right in, ordered and grabbed a table. We tried a half order of the peach French toast. It was super yummy....not too overly sweet and the peaches were delicious. The French toast was cooked well - not too soft. We also had the Cat fish taco and grits - the catfish was delicious. I had the salmon Benedict and really loved how fresh tasting the salmon was. The biscuits were huge and their raspberry jam is awesome. The service was quick and the staff was really friendly. There was plenty of room to sit inside and there was a nice patio with shade outside too. We will definitely go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Very quaint and inviting place. Small footprint with a large heart for taste and service. Wide variety of choices for every appetite. Today I went for a healthy start to the day and it was perfect!
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
Not your typical breakfast restaurant but soooo worth it. There were people waiting outside but they can turn over a table really fast. We ordered and our food came within 5 minutes. You can get a coffee outside while you're waiting for your table (WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA). Everything looked amazing but our table ordered Georgia Peach Waffles which was won the best thing ordered award. The chicken, egg, cheese biscuit was close second. The chicken was perfectly cooked and very juicy and perfectly fried. This is my favorite breakfast place in Athens.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
There's nothing that can be said that already hasn't been about this place. It's one of the best places I've eaten breakfast. I avoid gluten as much as possible but I indulged in their homemade biscuits and I would do it again even if it meant that I'd suffer with IBS for a week. They're worth it! Equally decadent and glutified is their Peach French Toast. Totally worth the gluten hangover. But even the gluten free options are as good as any breakfast momma or granny ever made. The Carnitas Omelette with fried taters is a perfect protein fueled breakfast or brunch. It's ALWAYS busy though, cuz it's so damn good, so plan on a wait and grab a coffee while you look over the menu making a game plan. Once you get inside you'll love the place cuz it's just like showing up at your granny's house. It's literally a house that was converted into the restaurant. So sit down and enjoy with the rest of Athens cuz they'll be there too.
google avatar

Yelp
11:15a on a Sunday 15 minute wait for table! 15 minutes later over half an hour. My special biscuit was awesome and huge gravy over easy eggs County ham fried chicken. Half order of French toast was more that enough fit the teen and the wife liked her veggie scramble. Service was slow cause they were at capacity espresso was slightly cold but food was hot and tasty. I'd go again
google avatar

Richard K.

Yelp
This place was recommended to me many times. I finally stopped in...Wow great place, great food, great service
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, amazing tastes, & friendly staff. A must grub when in ATH! Perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch. Just arrive early, they don't stay late.

Alex S.

Yelp
This is always a fun place to go. I love the atmosphere they have created inside. The food is great. I love their biscuits and their potatoes. Service is quick and pleasant. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Barbara E.

Yelp
Cute breakfast spot in Athens. Service was fast and friendly. Everything was good, even the grits!

Elena E.

Yelp
They were some of the most wonderful and kind hearted people that my partner and I have ever met. We went because they had great reviews, but we truly did not anticipate enjoying the food that much. The biscuits were AMAZING, the breakfast burrito was delicious, and I highly recommend trying their raspberry jam! That jam will change your life. Everyone who worked there came out to check on us and they were all so kind toward our dog as well. If you are ever in Athens, Mama's Boy is a MUST TRY!!! We will most certainly be coming back!

John C.

Yelp
We came in a party of 6. Tables are 4 max. When we took it upon ourselves to move 2 together, you'd have thought the Apocalypse happened. LET US DO THAT! Yelled the ?mgr? but they never did. Also ordered 4 shot Americano but the ticket came out as a 2 - again DRAMA! WHO ORDERED THE 2 SHOTS! She demanded. We offered she could pour them over ice & that would be fine. Which was actually 1/2 of what we wanted in the first place. This joint creates stress. Go elsewhere. Too much drama over nothing. Highly overrated.
google avatar

Shane P.

Yelp
To much hipe not that good just an Athens attraction to get one timers to try it not a repeat place to eat. Food and service very sad. And I mean very sad.
google avatar

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Truly a yummy breakfast/brunch spot to visit! Had the pleasure of visiting on an early Saturday afternoon and had a wait for around 45 minutes to an hour (which was expected). It was worth it! Our host was so friendly and honest with us. I found it so clever that your order is taken before you are seated (to keep things moving) :-) Everything was delicious, I got the garden bowl and could NOT RESIST trying the peach French toast. With everything being delicious, I'm so glad that I didn't skip that French toast, y'all! It was SO good! I will return if I'm in the area!
google avatar

James T.

Yelp
Mommas Boys hits all the right spots when it comes to southern breakfast comfort foods. It's definitely the biscuits that puts them over the top. You get one of their famous cat head biscuits with just about every dish. I elected to make one into a bacon egg and cheese sandwich which was excellent! Also tasted their sausage gravy on top of one of the biscuits and that was just okay. In my opinion could use a bit more spice. My friend got the French toast with peaches and it was pretty amazing as one would expect. Not too bad on price too, I paid about $12 for my meal and left stuffed. It doesn't matter what time of day, it's always crowded and the parking is a problem here. Carpool if you can!
google avatar

Michaela S.

Yelp
On my recent visit, this place was hyped as THE place for brunch - so we made a point to swing by. It's small, and the demand is high, so literally every time we passed it, there was a line out the door. That kind of showing made me have some high expectations. Don't get me wrong -- it was alright, just didn't WOW me like other places have. We were able to get a seat out on the patio which is nice. There is limited parking at the restaurant, so you have to plan ahead on that front. I ended up ordering two dishes because I couldn't decide between sweet and savory! I got both the peach french toast and the biscuits and gravy. In terms of the french toast, it was alright. I guess in my mind Georgia peaches during peach season would just be bursting with flavor and singing, but the jam/marmalade tasted rather jarred/canned to me. In terms of the biscuits and gravy, again, thinking true Southern breakfast, I thought the entire thing would have more flavor. The gravy was quite bland with a bit of an off texture and the biscuits were soggy to the point they didn't hold up well with the gravy. Overall, just very average for me. Maybe folks who are local have a better line on what's worth ordering, but as a visitor looking for that true Southern brunch experience, it was just alright for me.

Yelp
I'd say this place is solid! The food was fresh and the juice was good. I definitely think food prices in general have skyrocketed since the pandemic and this spot is no exception to that!I had the sausage egg and cheese breakfast biscuit which was pretty good! I got grits with cheddar too and they were also good! If you are in the Athens area this place is a solid choice for a good sit down breakfast. You must order at the counter when you come in and they bring the food to you. I will say that they brought out my food fast which was awesome! I will definitely return when I'm in the area and maybe next time I'll try the French toast! They say that the French toast is super awesome here! Definitely come by and give this spot a try :) it will be worth the visit!

Yelp
Worth the detour on our road trip! Delicious breakfast with one of the best biscuits and sausage egg sandwiches I have had in a long time. Definitely reccomend!

Yelp
Much ado about nothing. I would go farther to say much to pay for nothing. The Tofu Vegetable Scramble was so overly soaked with soy sauce sauce that I requested a cup in which to drain off the excess. The entire dish tasted of soy sauce and salt. The broccoli was barely cooked, near raw. The tofu was uncooked but saturated with soy sauce. All that and at the onset, immediately upon entering the door, you are in line, waiting to place your order fast food style, once punched in to the POS (point of sale) you are shuffled onward. And then seated. A Food Runner brings beverages and in time, your food. But no other direct service contact. At the Point of Sale they requested a possible 25% tip. WTF? For WHO???? And for what? After all that asking for money and then a thoroughly shitty meal, uh no. I live within a few blocks of this place and have given it many tries. I'm done. That wasn't just a bad meal, it was disgusting.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Always love Mama's Boy! It is a popular brunch spot so we normally have to wait a while but it is well worth it and the serving sizes are large so I always have leftovers to enjoy.
google avatar

Kyle B.

Yelp
Prepare for a brutally honest review. The hype around Mama's Boy is insane. However, the breakfast food here is merely average. I have not had anything mind-blowing from here and I have been multiple times with friends. I would venture to say that the ambiance is the draw to this place. The last point I would like to make is that the service is largely hit or miss, at least in my experience. They are always nice enough though. For those of you visiting Athens, there are other breakfast places (even chains, to be honest) that outperform Mama's Boy in terms of taste. For a nice breakfast with friends, however, this restaurant does the trick.
google avatar

Ruby S.

Yelp
Food is amazing I love getting the chicken biscuit and some eggs. Love the food. I have had the best service here it's amazing. Love Mama's boy especially for hanging out with friends
google avatar

Sean S.

Yelp
My family and I went on a Saturday and they were busy since they were five of us it took about 20 minutes to sit us and they are a small restaurant only bad thing. You ordered before you sit down. But one you do it do not take long to get your order. I ordered the perminto cheese burger. Juice and full of flavor.
google avatar

Linda T.

Yelp
Great food and service. Clean in side and out. Awesome biscuits and gravy. Eggs cooked perfectly
google avatar

Alfonso M.

Yelp
Great place to get breakfast southern style. You order at the counter and you'll get a number and seat anywhere you like. They have a well decorated restaurant and and enclosed patio at end overlooking the park. Food tasted so good and the strawberry lemonade is a great thirst quencher. You get one refill for free. Staff are well attentive. Overall great dining experience
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
Very good food highly recommend! This brunch spot is a hidden gem .Staff is great you might have to wait sometimes 45 minutes is the most . You will have to pay first just fyi . Enjoy !!!!
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
I love Mama's Boy!!!! And I prefer this location to the larger one. The staff is always wonderful and the food is simple and yet amazing all at the same time. If you come on the weekend expect it to be busy with a wait but know that the wait is worth the food. Parking can also be a bit tricky on the weekends so pile into one car. If your meal doesn't come with a biscuit make sure you add one because their house made jam on their giant biscuits can't be missed. They have a tasty vegetarian breakfast and they do have some vegan options but I haven't personally tried them.

Yelp
This will be describing our 3 most recent experiences only at The Falls location on Macon Hwy. After this was previously one of the best breakfast locations around Athens, one that we often enjoyed and also recommended to others, the quality here has unfortunately fallen badly in recent times where we will no longer go back. Following our first negative experience here, we came back again two more times with friends with the hope that it had simply experienced a temporary glitch and would be back "to its old great self," but we unfortunately discovered that those same earlier negative findings now appear to be part of the normal experiences to be found. * Immediately after walking in the door, you, must grab a menu and then quickly place and pay for your order (including tip) while still waiting in line to be seated; * Service here was once stellar, but it is now hit-or-miss and mostly fair to mediocre, with a recognizable non-personable and very young staff that appears overall to be less than thrilled to be working; * What was once the absolute best "banana bread" in all of Athens is now dry and with less flavor. The coffee remains to be excellent (thanks to a chosen blend from Jittery Joe's), but beyond that nothing we ordered stood out as being better than average at best. Sadly, we all agreed that whatever changes have been made with management, cooking staff, hiring practices, etc., we will not be back here again as there are many far superior local breakfast locations within the Athens area.

Olivia T.

Yelp
Consistently good! Fast service at both locations. Family wants to go every time they're in Athens. Favorite thing is the egg scramble! The biscuits are also great. Overall a great vibe indoors and outdoors.

This is the first time I went to Mama's boy even though I lived in Athens for years and moved to Atlanta. It is in a convenient location that can be easily accessed close to downtown. The staff there were nice. The Peach French Toast was great as well as the salmon benediction. The coffee was not as good as Jittery Joes even though it was that brand. The environment inside was good. At the end of our lunch the waitress happened to took my Peach Toast plate away by chance and it might be me who said yes since I thought she was ask for whether I need to go box. She soon realized it and offered to give me another Toast, which made my day and a nice close of my trip to Athens. This restaurant will definitely on my list to visit again next time when I visit Athens.
